WARNING: SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD & MALPRACTICE I just read through the reviews and I see a lot of people experienced similar îf not the same type of aggression & disrespect that I did and that's unacceptable for any business who is being paid for a service to treat their customers so unprofessionally this way. Had the most painful experience. I would like to share with anyone planning on going out of respect for them & to avoid what I went through, never been through such a bad experience with a salon in my life. Do NOT go to this salon if you value your health and safety. I had a horrific upsetting & traumatic experience here that left me with a severe physical injury. During my appointment, the nail technician was incredibly aggressive and rude. She used her tools so violently that she sliced completely through my real, natural nail plate into the deep, pink flesh of my nail bed. I was left with a deep, agonizing, bleeding laceration. Instead of stopping the service to provide proper, sanitary first aid or acknowledging how badly she hurt me, she tried to minimize and hide the injury. I repeatedly informed her of the pain. And until I was physically bleeding, she didn't stop. I even had to force her to stop. And to make matters worse, She actually tried to pressure me into letting her put another fake nail set right over my open, bleeding wound. I had to refuse to protect myself, as trapping a raw cut under plastic and chemicals is a major infection hazard. I'm honestly appalled. Hannah was the main one laughing at the situation not helping & I'll add the individual later. When I complained, she refused to take responsibility and claimed it "wasn't her fault." To make matters worse, the rest of the staff joined in to minimize my pain, bad-mouthing me in their language, and laughing at me while I was actively bleeding and in tears. I speak multiple languages, so I understood part of what they were saying about me. It was incredibly unprofessional, rude, and ugly of them to injure me and show zero kindness or care. I called them out for and said that's unacceptable to treat someone the way they treated me. I wouldn't wish this upon anyone and do not recommend this shop. They are not only unhygienic but disrespectful and unprofessional. I am currently in severe, agonizing pain, unable to sleep, and having to seek professional medical treatment at urgent care because of their negligence. They are cruel, unprofessional, and a massive liability to anyone who sits in their chairs. I would not wish this on anyone, and I don't want any woman to go through the pain I'm feeling of having my nail bed sliced, the extreme pain of not being able to move or use my hand, and the constant throbbing in it. I literally feel the nerve pain all over my finger, also Haven't been able to sleep or wash my hair due to pain even with gloves or a bandaid on. She separated my nail from the base of my nail bed/cut into my nail bed. We go to the salon to feel good about ourselves, and I brought my best friend, it was the highlight of our week for me and her also a lot of people. It's terrible to think that someone could injure you and mock you when you are paying for a service at this place. I wish these people had better hearts and treated their customers respectfully. Never would want anyone to experience this. I do not recommend ever taking off your nails here or getting them done even the unhygienic services. I recommend a place with better hygiene standards that will take care of you and show you respect. No one deserves to be treated how I was treated today or injured in this manner. Laura did a decent job on the nails I asked her to do. But Kathy was impatient while I was choosing gems and also told me the design I wanted to add was "too busy." Okay, but my nails, my choice. Like what right does she have to tell me what I like is "too busy?" The service is mid at best. Despite the high price I paid for my designs and gel x, the gems kept falling off and they refused to help me fix the nails. I went in twice to get the gems replaced and they just told me to come back tomorrow. If you don't want to fix them, then just tell me that. Don't ask me to come back again on a third day. On my second visit, though, I had a very uncomfortable experience. The technician kept telling me to be completely still, especially when I looked away briefly or made slight movements while I was trying to cooperate. Instead of calm guidance, she became visibly upset, and the tone of the "be still" reminders felt aggressive and repetitive. What made it worse was the physical handling. She repeatedly grabbed/touched my hands and arms to position me, and it felt forceful and uncomfortable rather than careful. I also had hygiene concerns. The table/workstation I was seated at appeared dirty, and a tool she used did not appear sealed when it was taken out. Gorgeous, spacious, and large nail salon located at The District at Tustin Legacy. I don't think I've ever seen a nail salon this big before, but there were a lot of pedicure chairs here. I've been trying to find my new local nail spot and came to this one. It was a pretty alright experience. I didn't have an appointment, but luckily it wasn't too busy when I arrived. I did a mani pedi, with basic one color gel polish. The staff here are friendly. I opted for the classic pedicure ($50), but I think next time I think I'd much rather just do the basic pedicure ($30). The polish on my toes came out not the best, but decent enough. I was visiting from out of town for a special New Year's party and needed a quick nail fix. Every salon I stopped by had long waits and unwelcoming vibes--until I called Ritz Nails. The man who answered was incredibly kind and told me to come right in. Now, my only complaint (and it's minor) is that Google Maps led me to their old address. When I called back, the gentleman was very apologetic and gave me clear directions to their current location. The salon is actually in the middle of a beautiful outdoor mall, so parking can be a bit tricky--you might have to walk a little (I'd recommend parking near the movie theater)--but trust me, it's worth it. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. I was greeted immediately by a friendly staff member, and the service was top-notch. I had broken a nail going through airport security and needed a perfect match for my French manicure with black and silver glitter tips. The nail technician was incredibly patient, carefully repainting until she got the color just right. The man who helped me on the phone (I'm guessing the owner) even came over to chat, asking where I was from and about my plans for the night. The salon itself is huge, elegant, and beautifully maintained--if I lived in the area, this would definitely be my go-to spot. The customer service here is terrible. Extremely bad. Do not come here. The girl I had was mumbling and talking to herself for like 10 minutes which was extremely unprofessional. My classic pedicure literally only took 15 minutes which is unheard of and extremely expensive for that amount of time. She did not file my nails, exfoliate, didn't scrub my feet, or polish the nail. That's why it only took 15 minutes!!! All she did for my classic pedicure was cuticle care and that's literally it. They do not have their tools in a sealed sterilized bag which is really concerning. They gave me sandals that dyed my feet yellow!!! I went back and told some person and she didn't even apologize!!! Extremely rude. I wish I never came here!!! read more

This place is beautiful but the quality of service is not that great unfortunately. I've been doing builder gel for awhile now and nails grew so long they had to be cut down to the length I like. The last set from a different nail salon lasted me 5 weeks no chips no breaks, it was perfect! Came here for my fill had them cut down, but after 4 days one of my nails chipped and started to break on one side. They fixed it and already the next day it is breaking again where my nail was cracked. They didn't use glue to fix the nail first nor did they suggest trimming down and placing a gel x nail. They put builder gel right on top of the crack. I had a feeling this would happen and of course 1 day later my hair is getting stuck in my nail where it's broken. Today we took my sister for her birthday to get her nails done! Three of us total! My nails and my mom's turned out amazing! My sisters did not. The tech was taking a long time and kept filling her nails down and making pretty much each finger bleed. When asking for a different color or design the tech didn't seem interested. We spoke with the receptionist after about it because my sisters hands were so raw after she didn't want them to be fixed but at least show the manger. All the manager said I'm sorry but maybe she was trying to get the glue out, I told her no look how raw and bloody her nails are. We walked about after the interaction. This was the absolute worst nail service I've ever experienced. I went in for something so simple just to have my acrylics removed and a normal paint application and left with bleeding, painful fingers and a terrible paint job. The technician was visibly upset for no reason and took it out on me by being extremely rough. She squeezed my hands so hard it was painful, cut my nails carelessly, and even stabbed my pinky nail so harshly with her tool that it bled. To make things worse, she painted over the wound like it was nothing. The result? Uneven, bubbly, sloppy nails that I could've done better at home. It's appalling that I paid for this kind of service. I've never been treated so poorly at a nail salon. Today I came in for a nail appointment to have my nails removed and to receive a manicure and pedicure. The manager, Ann, greeted me promptly and was very kind. She personally escorted me to the pedicure chair, which started the visit off nicely. Unfortunately, the pedicurist, Kay, seemed disengaged and a bit rude. I tried not to let her negative attitude affect my experience, but the service itself felt rushed and incomplete. My nails weren't fully cleaned, shaped, or filed properly, and she attempted to start painting before completing those basic steps. I had specifically requested a collagen manicure and pedicure, expecting a state board-regulated service that includes full cleaning, polish removal, cuticle care, and massage. When I mentioned that a few steps were missed, Kay became upset and refused to continue the service. Thankfully, Ann stepped in and completed my pedicure herself, and she handled the situation very professionally. I also want to acknowledge Meaghn, who performed my manicure. She was patient, kind, and followed all the proper steps -- she truly provided great service. While I appreciate Ann and Meaghn's professionalism, the overall experience left me feeling uncomfortable. As a Black woman, I'm aware that the service we receive can sometimes feel different, but I never assume that going in. I do, however, expect the same respect and care as any other paying customer. Unfortunately, that was not the case today. I won't be returning to Ritz Nail Service. Businesses in the beauty and service industry should treat every client with kindness, respect, and professionalism -- regardless of background or appearance. Im not surprised this place has 3.5 stars. I typically don't write negative reviews but after yesterday's experience I felt like I need to let customers know they might get ripped off and end up not having the greatest experience here. I'm 22 weeks pregnant and came to this nail salon with my friend to celebrate sharing my pregnancy news with her. I only came here because she recommended it, otherwise I never would've tried it ( 35 mins from me). I've been getting my nails done regularly for over 10 years, always with full nail art and acrylic, and I've never paid more than $80-$100 for something detailed. So imagine my shock at how this place treated me -- both in pricing and in attitude. We called ahead and were told a gel builder new set was $50, so I assumed a fill would be less -- around $40-$45. I was getting a gel builder fill on my natural nails, no tips or extensions. I asked the nail tech if she could do a simple design (a thick French tip with stars/sparkle accents), showed her a reference photo, and she said, "yes, easy." From there, things just went downhill. The tech barely spoke, seemed visibly annoyed the whole time, whispered under her breath when I asked questions, and never once addressed me directly. On top of that, the owner kept talking to her on the side during my whole appointment. At one point I asked for a specific white shimmer polish, and the owner said it might need two layers with white underneath to show -- I said okay, that's fine. But instead, the tech ignored me completely and applied a chrome polish without asking or telling me it would be an extra charge. I figured maybe she thought it would look better, or it was a small substitute for shimmer. Either way, I was never informed I was being upcharged. Then comes the design. She starts drawing stars, and the first one looks like a cross. I wasn't even shown the design before she moved on to the next nail. I had to stop her and say, "wait, can I see what it looks like?" I told her I didn't like it -- I don't want crosses on my nails, just regular stars -- and she seemed so annoyed I said anything at all. She removed it without a word. And at that point, because the French tip wasn't even (which I was willing to overlook if the design covered it), I needed something to make it look balanced. So my friend suggested stickers -- and they brought out a sheet from a pack you could buy off Amazon for $8 with hundreds of stickers. I used maybe a quarter of one sheet, placing one sticker on each nail. Simple, fast, and easy. Then came the worst part: payment. I walked up to the counter and the owner immediately says, loudly, "Your nails are very very expensive," in front of other customers -- as if trying to embarrass me or make a point. Turns out they charged me $20 extra for those Amazon stickers, on top of chrome I didn't ask for, and another charge for the French tip -- even though the entire design wasn't even what I asked for and looked nothing like the reference photo. And finally -- the small things that normally make the experience nice? Didn't happen. At every other salon I've been to, they finish by applying lotion and massaging your hands with a warm towel. Here? Nothing. They were clearly over it by the end. I don't know if it's because the appointment took longer than they expected, but how is that my fault? I even asked for a thick French tip specifically to make it easier and faster for the tech. I was made to feel like a burden when I was just trying to enjoy a happy moment with a friend. I didn't argue, I paid and left, but I'll never return and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who values kind service, cute nails, transparency, or basic professionalism. Do better. read more

The entire time the nail tech that was working on my feet continued to try and convince me to get a gel pedi...which I simply replied that I preferred regular pedicure. After she realized I wasn't going to get gel, her attitude towards me changed, she was talking under her breath to other lady that was working on my manicure, she didn't file my nails and left a crack...I felt so uncomfortable and didn't say anything because I just wanted to get it over with. I only had cash on and was charged $80 which is the price if I would've gotten a gel pedi. I paid them as wanted to avoid an argument and just leave. This place is beautiful but the service is absolutely terrible. I've never felt so uncomfortable. They didn't even bring me sandals and just walked away and left me sitting in the chair stuck as I came in with tennis shoes. It was as if I was being punished for getting a regular pedicure. This was my first time here and honestly I'm pretty disappointed. It was a very last minute decision for me but I was right around the corner and needed to remove my gel x and gel pedicure, I called ahead and asked if they had anything available and they didn't have a wait so I thought it would be quick and easy. It was quick - except it was very rushed and there was only 2 other guests in the building, both of them getting there maybe 10 minutes after me. They didn't 100% remove my pedicure but even worse, I had an extension on both of my big toe nails that I had asked to be taken off but instead of soaking / buffing away, the technician used a nail tip and was trying to pry it off by ripping it. When that didn't work she was using the cuticle trimmer to try and pry it off again but ended up damaging my actual nail and left the extensions on. Overall just an awful experience. Also another thing I forgot to mention.. my original tech that was removing my manicure had left in the middle of it to do another ladies nails that had walked in after - I noticed she had asked about a walk in as well so I know it wasn't because she had an appointment with her. Ritz moved to a new location near AMC and it's very nice. Wide open layout, brand new chairs and shiny new equipment. Lots of light and feels very relaxing. The service is very nice too the ladies were very polite. Unfortunately it looked like some of the customers were a bit stuck up and Karen-y. Makes me feel bad because I know the nail technicians work hard. Hope they get tipped well. I've come here a handful of times now. Had one good experience, a few average, and one bad experience. Theyre obviously a nicer than average nail salon and charge a bit more than the average. that being said, I think it's fair to expect above average service. I came in today, and asked for a clear dip french tip manicure. Made it very clear that I wanted the base to be clear and not pink/white (they've made this mistake before). When I didn't get what I asked for, Jackie asked "this is why I told you to do a pink base. Do you want me to take it off?!" -- which was enough to cause a scene. She then proceeded to redo my nails passive aggressively and going off to her colleagues in Vietnamese that even the girls next to me were looking at me concerned.. I tried to be as polite as possible considering they charge ~$60 for this. But it was just clear as day, that she was not happy and it made me extremely uncomfortable. Also -- cuticles and a massage are supposed to be included in their package which they oftentimes skip. I don't mean to be a "Karen" but their service can definitely use some improvement. Walked in for a gel mani and pedi and it was not that great, barely cut my cuticles, didn't ask what shape I wanted and I added callus extra to my pedi but it still rough and dry.
