Dear Plesant Nails, I have been to the nail chop chop that is Nail Too and I just want to say... I'm sorry for all sh*t I've talked about you. I didn't know bad nails until I went to this place. I blame the chick at the bus stop whose fierce nails made me jealous. I went in search of the 'Island" pedicure and gel back fills. That's it... pure and simple. and they STILL jacked it up! The first guy was recommended to me and I insisted that I get gels, he got tired of me and dropped the drill and went back to a pedicure. Then an older lady wearing a jeweled encrusted tank top (i'm SO not lying!) and platform heels took a shot at it... and she kept nicking my nail bed. It was soooo painful! I couldn't believe it! That was SO my cue to leave... but before I was out the door, another lady with the most ornate nails EVER came and grabbed the drill and finished the job. she was good, but I KNOW that was acrylic!! Plesant Nails had gel... actual gel on my talons... this place, had acrylic with an odd coating that was supposedly gel. I wasn't convinced. I liked the design. but I'm still frustrated. I chose not to get a pedicure as I just wanted to get out of there... the price was okay but my nails were in PAIN for days as the older lady really dug into my nail bed. I ended up popping them off and waiting several weeks before trying it again. At a different location. So, although I won't give you another chance Plesant Nails, I just want to say that I'm sorry for allt he grief I caused you... Hmmm. This place gets a mixed review from my wife and I. Her manicure lasted three days, her pedicure lasted over a month--really lopsided. Service was friendly, but when you pay good money to make your hands look good, they should look good for a while. We are still looking for the Valley equivalent to San Francisco's Simply Unique Nails. It may not exist here at all, but we are hoping that we will eventually find it. PLUS: I was seated right away -in and out in a timely matter -prices are very affordable CONS: they don't speak English very well -acrylic nails were too thick and not very even and left my nails too long (most likely because they don't speak English very well) My daughter however did get her nails done there at the same time as me and they turned out fine. I view acrylic nails as a very specific talent. You either got it or you don't! And they for sure are lacking the art of it :| read more

Last time I went here I got a more inexperienced nail tech, who went a bit too crazy with the cuticle trimming and nicked me. Ow. But, he did do a thorough polish and design. Gotta downgrade for drawing blood! read more

After reading all the reviews I was sorta sketchy about coming here. I work near by n I had some extra comp time so I took an extended lunch to try out this place n e ways. So I went in and got a full set. They were friendly and the prices were fair. I had Huey do my nails. Just remember ur always unsure when u try out a new place whether it's a new eatery, nail salon, spa, but how will u know if you'll like it or not if u don't try it out? Anyhow, Let me just say, I will be a happy returning customer. U can only judge if u try it out urself. Right? read more

This is your average nail salon. It's cute, clean, and the staff is friendly, speaks better English than most. The salon is a little small, and you can end up waiting a while on a Saturday, but if you're not in a rush, it's a great little nail salon. Pricing is very reasonable. Pedicures start at $20 and include a hot stone massage. Massaging chairs are very comfortable. I came in today with my grandma. It was my first time here, but she comes about every 4-6 weeks for a pedi. Nothing special or unique, but all in all a solid choice. read more

NEW OWNERS!! I was a fan of Nails Too before but mainly because they were open on Sundays. The previous shop was old, fairly unsanitary, and as previous reviews mentioned their nail jobs were not the best quality. Now the shop has new owners and they are great! First, I had to wait a bit which was fine because I had gel nails that needed to soak. Not only did they use the aluminum foil technique to remove the gel, which I like better, but they offered to let me sit in the pedicure massage chair while I waited. Major plus, they had magazines that were current and not a hundred years old. Second, my nails came out beautiful. I always go with gel but this time they made sure that the gel was shaped properly and no gel remained under my nails. My biggest complaint is when they don't check under your nails and your nails feel stuck to your fingers. Lastly, although I did end up waiting a while they offered me free glitter or nail design to make up for my wait. Neither of these are my style so I declined but the owner still discounted my gel manicure by $3 to compensate for my wait. They'll still be open Sundays and hopefully the new owners keep up the great work!! read more

I will go back! Lee did my nails and was awesome. He took my old nails off and put new ones, and they are just the way I like them. I will either ask for him or his wife Michelle. The polish selection is very small, and they only take cash tips (they take debit/credit for payment), and this is the reason for only 4 stars. But, I will bring cash for a tip and my own polish if I have to; he did a great job! read more

First time.....VERY nice, fast, and well priced! Fill was in and out in 45 min (on my lunch break) AND was only $20! Second time...got a new guy....took VERY long time and he used white instead of pink on one hand and painted them different design than I wanted. When I pointed out both I was ignored. Thought maybe he was having an off day till my girlfriend went, sat with the girl, then when a gel nail customer came, they moved my friend to the same guy so the lady could do the more "important" client. My friend ended up being there OVER an hour and half, and had to leave to an appointment with her nails not even painted. They still charged her FULL price!!!!! They told her she could come back to get painted. We BOTH will NEVER go back, Please go somewhere else!!! Your nails are begging you! read more

I went to Nail Too a few years ago a couple times and they did ok but I was not thrilled... but just went back yesterday and they did an AMAZING job on my nails. I went here for fullset and pedicure they charged 60 dollars plus messed my nails up completely they were short and long and not completely covered with the gel my toes are already peeling off and its only been two days I will go back tomorrow and get fully refunded or my nails will be fixed. read more

This nail salon is the worst. First of all, the guy who works here needs to be fired. He was so rude for no reason. I walked in and asked if I could get my nails painted. I chose a color and it was a pretty nude. While he was painting my nails I noticed it was transparent and I asked him if he could do a couple extra coats so it wouldn't look the way it did. His response was "I'm doing three coats and only three coats. Pick a different color if you want." Just like that. Shocked, I got up and chose a different color. He told me that he wasn't going to remove the nude color and just paint over. I was a little upset because my nails were now under many layers of nail polish. As I was watching him, he told me to FACE THE WALL BECAUSE I WAS DISTRACTING HIM. Can you believe that? He said I was moving too much by watching! How is that even possible???? I was almost in tears leaving that salon. Never will I go back here. You guys suck. My nails didn't look professionally painted either. My 2 year old niece could've done the same job. I got my acrylic tips done here and they did a terrible job. The first person started on my nails then another person took over. They looked horrible when they were done! There were bubbles on the nail bed ( they didn't brush the acrylic on all the way). When I went to get them taken off 2 weeks later, they yanked them off with a credit card. After they were done, my nails hurt. I have had acrylics before and other places have done a better job. read more

In May, I got tips put on at Nail Too on Southern Avenue in Tempe. The owner started putting on the tips then he had someone else finish them. when it was done, the top of the top ( the white part) was all bubbly. A few weeks later, I went to go take them off and he just yanked them off with a credit card, which you're not supposed to do b/c it can damage the nail. He was also rough when it came to the filing and he made me bleed a couple of times. I would not recommend this nail salon. There are other places in Tempe that are worth going to, and this is not one of them! read more

This is a great place. It's clean because I noticed that the tools a tech used were well sanitized. Since I am a nurse that's important to me. I got a pedicure and manicure. I LOVE it. Although I was not too impressed for waiting 5 minutes to get my nails done, but I was glad that I did. read more

I arrived to this nail shop after work at 6 PM. Initially they were really nice I wanted an acrylic fill in and a pedicure. I picked out a polish and got my toes done and the polish began to bubble. I then asked them to change my toenail polish once I saw them putting it on my fingers and it looked awful because of all the bubbling. They changeed my fingernail polish but tried to charge me to change my toe nail polish, though it was their polish that was going to bad. When I refused they made me wait 45 minutes to change my toenail polish and took several customers before me, though I had been there first. When I began to pay she asked me if I was leaving a tip and I responded no, she threw my card down on the counter. I voiced that I did not feel valued as a customer and they had awful customer service and that I felt like they were disrespecting my time. I will never return there ever again. I haven't had a bad experience at a nail shop in years. They never have to worry about me again. read more
