The owner of this business is really nice and tries really hard to make all her customers happy. But I have been in to this salon so many times for broken nails. To the owner: please don't cut corners on the steps it takes to do a long-lasting manicure. And please train your employees better they literally have to ask for your help every time I ask for a trendy design! It's a nice-ish enough place, big and fixed up, the girls all wear uniform tops and there is a "boss" who has a real command on things, never have to wait long, close to home - a natural go-to. But they just always do a crappy job. Always. And when you tell them you see something or to change something the boss swoops in and tells you it's fine. The prices keep going up - used to be $15 for a manicure (like everywhere else in Seattle) now $18. Used to be $23 for a pedi, then $25, now $28. And they're the kind who act like they have to key in the tip so before they hand you your copy to sign they say "what's the tip please?" Hate that. Anyway - I've said it before but I'm serious now - done. Looked at my $23 (with tip) manicure last night and my nails are filed all crooked and paint is sloppy. Done. read more

I came in for a mani-pedi. Overall pretty happy with everything, they seated me 5 mins after my appt time. Which is important to me because if I make an appt I want to be seated at my appt time. I have been going to this salon for over a year and was satisfied although the wait was getting long. Its popularity increased, especially on weekends and during happy hour (12-3pm). I was drawn by $32 mani/pedi - a rare Seattle sight. My last visit was a huge disappointment. I got a deep cut on the side of toe. Although the technician was apologetic about it and I found it concerning that she didn't think applying alcohol after the soak was necessary as she had "applied it once". I will be watching this toe closely. The happy hour has apparently evolved in the past month or so. The regular price combo is $38. And happy hour is...$39(!). When you question the logic, you are struck by "an explanation" that warrants an award for poor marketing. The happy hour deal included the spa, not the regular pedicure. But you wouldn't know because you were never asked. And good luck explaining that. There goes the lure of the happy hour. This salon had earned by trust for the past year and I thought the solid following spoke for that. But I predict this new marketing approach (especially if accompanied by sloppiness) will turn off some of the regulars. On the lookout for a new favorite West Seattle nail place. read more

Gel X nail extensions - wow If you don't have them now I would strongly suggest you invest and get them. I have had them on since February 2020. I Finally got a chance to have them filled in May. I was wandering around West Seattle looking for a pedicure and found Nail Time. There is a sign in the window about 10% off for new customers....so basically Nail Time appealed to my cheap side...just saying. BUT I've been going back every two weeks and I love this place! They have several chairs for spa pedicures and always welcome walk-ins. After my first pedicure I was sitting at the dryer and noticed one of the girls had great nails. Since I did nails in California (many years ago) I'm pretty difficult to please. I had the same girl put acrylic on my nails (no tips) and she did a great job. Some of my nails were really short and she was able to build them out just a bit without adding a tip (I don't like long nails). She did an amazing job! It turns out the girl that did my nails that first day was Sam, the owner. Sam welcomes every person that walks in and if they aren't a first time customer it is amazing to me that she remembers them by name and what service they usually get. They have started giving you your files to take home. If you bring them back you get a discount, if not you just get a brand new bag. Can't get any more sterile than that. Nice touch! They also take checks which is kind of rare now. Very convenient. Wish I would have gone here and found out about asking for Lisa. Sam was just on vacation and I hated waiting to get my nails done. But clearly she can't be everywhere at once, so she's hired the best staff to back her up. Today I walked in without an appointment for a full set of acrylics. They got me in right away, and sam started me but then passed me of to a girl named Vy who I had never met before... when I tell you I just got the best manicure I have ever had, I'm not kidding. I had plans with a friend to explore the West Seattle Farmers Market and we decided to add a pedicure onto the days list of activities. We read the yelp reviews and decided that Nail Time would be a great choice. We were thrilled with the availability of Sunday appointments, the salon was clean and the owner was really friendly. They have eight pedicure chairs that are all massage to your heart (and backs) content. Everything was great with my pedicure until we broke out the razor. I have very very very flat feet. Feel so flat that they suction cup to the floor if wet. So, there are callouses you see. Anyway - she broke out the razor thing and started to hack away at the calluses and she took off a REALLY good chunk of my baby toe (an area where I do NOT have calluses). I'm not quite sure what happened - but it bleed and hurt(s) a LOT. I'm hoping that it doesn't get infected - but will not be surprised if it does. Overall, I felt like the patience and care necessary for a really good pedicure was not there. I have polish in places other than on my nails and I have much less of a toe than I walked in with. read more

****UPDATE 5/20/08: I deducted two stars from my original Nail Time review due to the fact that regardless of the fact that I make an appointment, I usually end up having to wait no less than 15 minutes (though I do usually go in the busier times of day, I feel like my appointment should mean I get in at that time). I gave them one back because their waxing is quick and dirty, and although it's somewhat awkward it's super cheap and thorough.**** I actually first tried Nail Time on my boss's recommendation and I thank her all the time for sending me here. It's a great place to get a pedi with a friend (or your Ma!) and they are super friendly. When Ma and I went for spa pedis today after breakfast, there were no less than three guys getting manis or pedis - that's pretty damn awesome. I got my first set of acrylic nails here. My nails hurt as long as I had the set, whenever I put any pressure at all on my fingers. If you're looking for great affordable mani/pedi's in the Seattle area - well, I don't know why you would look any further. I was going to another place up near Northgate. I would go in, be in pain for most of my visit an my nails always came out 'mediocre' at best. My friend Taylor had been seeing Sam here at Nail Time for awhile at this point and suggested I go with her. At this point it was either stop getting my nails done or change shops. I just couldn't bear my current shop any more. One appointment with Sam later and I was hooked. I don't like my nails long and am rather picky. They have to be thin, natural looking, my natural nails can't be peeling away, and I don't want to pay a bajillion dollars. Sam was so sweet. She did an amazing job. I've been back every two weeks ever since then and am never disappointed. There have been a couple occasions where I've had to see other technicians and have been just as happy with the results. What I really want to know....is how in the world she manages to remember every single persons name. She's a star that one :) Oh also. The massages by the minute are gold. I was looking around on Yelp for an inexpensive, but still quality, place to get my nails done. I checked out the websites for a few places, but was dismayed to see how expensive they are. Nail Time's website isn't thrilling or overly pretty, but the reviews were good so I figured I'd try it out. Everything everyone's said about Sam is true. Her station is right up front, and she greets you warmly right when you walk in. It was busy, and I didn't have an appointment, but she was available to help. My nails are weak and pathetic, but I don't like long nails, so I asked Sam what I could do. She told me we could do an acrylic overlay. She did a great job with it. My nails aren't too long and they still feel natural. I also had a pedicure since I was watching with envy as others got it done. That felt really good, and the woman who did it was really efficient. I was in a time crunch, but I made it out of there pretty quickly. They give first time visitors a 10% discount and then a loyalty card. After you spend $175, you get like $25 off. I used to live in Los Angeles and I am used to less-expensive nail salons and I have low expectations going to these places. I know I'll get a decent pedicure or manicure for a good price and I expect nothing more. Since moving back to Seattle, I have been looking for a salon that will do a pedicure for under $15.00. So, when I bought the spa package at Nail Time on a discount coupon site (similar to Groupon) I was guessing that I had finally found the type of establishment I was used to in LA. Walking into Nail Time, I wasn't expecting a luxury spa experience, but I was expecting that for the regular price of $45 I would get a decent amount of service. Needless to say, I got great toes, but the manicure and whatever other parts of the "Spa Package" that was to be included, was a joke. My cuticles were not touched and looked a mess. My nails were cut and filed at all angles and odd shapes. The "massage" was painful as they used some abrasive scrub that made me wince and wish they would stop. Had I paid full price for the "spa package" I would have thrown a fit, but because I paid half price and had very low expectations, the experience left me feeling frustrated, but I just walked away knowing I would never return. The person who appeared to be in charge seemed genuinely interested in my well-being, but the women working on my hands and feet were not. Whether it's one or none, everyone working at a place such as a nail salon should be at the same level of customer service to ensure a positive experience for all clientele. Otherwise, it's a fail. Even though the fills are more expensive that I'm used to when I was living on the eastside, I have found my new home here. My fills usually last atleast 3 weeks and unlike other's experiences in previous years, I usually don't have to wait at all or at most 5 minutes to get in. I have given this place Atleast 5 chances. Started out good but I can never get a consistent manicure. Last month the drill was used to file my cuticles off leaving extreme peeling and hangnails. This last week all of my nails are a different length and shape. My cuticles were not pushed back, lightly skimmed over with the cuticle pusher. It's SO FRUSTRATING to get a manicure and not even be able to have your nails filed evenly or the same length as the others. I've finally decided to give up here. read more

I visited this spot nearly 3 weeks ago for a fill. I wanted to wait to see how my nails held up before leaving a review. I'm impressed. I ended up at this salon, unintentionally. I'd intended on gong to a salon a few doors down. (California Nails).. however when I walked in, there was only one woman working there. So, I walked a few doors down to Nail Time. The salon was very clean and I was greeted immediately when I walked in. They have a massive selection of shellac colors. I am one of those women that take FOREVER to pick a color. I have experienced being abruptly rushed to pick a color at other salons. Not at Nail Time.. the helper asked me what color I was thinking of, I pointed to my nails and told her I wanted the same color. She guided me to my nail techs station and sat with me going through several colors to help me find a good match. She was very calm, non rushy and helpful. Bonus points. My nail tech was very sweet and untalkative. Which I loved.. when I go to the nail salon, I enjoy the quiet time to just relax and read a book on my Iphone while my tech hooks my nails up. I hate those standard questions "You work today?" "Where you work?" "You have boyfriend?".. they grate on me as they're so disingenuous. My tech would comment here and there but for the most part just did my nails. I appreciated that. Bonus points. Finally, I wear my nails long and I am insanely meticulous about the shape of my nails. They are pointy, but not too pointy. Seems like a simple shape, but I understand after wearing the shape for a year, it's a tough one to get just right. I showed my nail tech a picture of my desired shape and while she didn't get it exactly she was very close to it. Bonus points. Finally, as I head to my appointment tomorrow, I am returning with one missing nail as she filed my acrylics down a bit too thin which made them fragile. However, my shellac is still flawless and shiny and gorgeous, zero peeling. Points lost on the broken nail, but I am still happily returning to Nail Time tomorrow for my fill. read more

I'm leaning more toward a 3.5 I came here because my friend lived in the area and we had a living social deal. Last time I had a living social deal, it was a disaster (see Double N salon), but I figured $15 for a shellac wasn't the end of the world. This place looks pretty nice, they have a ton of space, enough for a good amount of clients without feeling too crowded. We made appointments, and didn't have to wait at all. We were greeted warmly by the whole salon, and even the owner greeted us. The lady who did my nails was so nice and incredibly patient. I ended up chaning my color 3 times, and at one point she even told me one of the brands I chose doesn't last very long, and let me change again even though she'd already painted a couple of my nails. Over all, their customer service was great. I just wasn't a big fan of the quality. It's definitely lasting (it's been 3 days now), but it's a little bit thick, and the sides aren't clean. I fixed this at home, but I'd rather not have. All in all, I'd definitely come here for a mani pedi, and even a shellac again. They have so many options for nail services that I haven't seen anywhere else, I'd come back to try them out. read more

Amazing service, I was able to talk with nail tech (the manager sam , if I can remember her name right) to figure out what nails worked best for the look I wanted . Their decor inside is gorgeous and the manager custom ordered leather massage chairs. The also provide fiberglass, silk , and S and S dip nails. Beautiful and gentle with clients . Recommended.
