I'm a hair stylist-Barber/Bartender-Barista and I have a plant/garden problem. My nails go through it. The place I had been going to had been leaving me with my nails glued to my fingers and my nails weirdly crooked. A couple of my regulars told me about Tulip's and how they've had a recent string of break ins. As someone that works for small businesses I was like "let's go" turns out... best sets of my life. They last, they put up with my dumb requests and the half an hour it takes me to pick a color and the A/C is amazing. I haven't lost one or chipped my color, which again, is AMAZING! I've been yelled at by every person that's ever done my nails dating back to when I was a kid going with my Aunt as I am not good at relaxing and my fingers can be annoying to work with. They tell me so nicely to stop apologizing and it's just the smallest big deal for me. I'm so glad to have found this place. read more

I go every two weeks for a set of nails, I'm always extremely happy with! Everyone is very thoughtful very helpful and one of the best massages I've ever gotten at a nail salon plus the pedicures are great too. It's always a very chill spot, especially week days. Worst pedicure! The technician tried to get away with not doing the actual pedicure. When I said something she started to do it but rushed and barely filed, cleaned, cut cuticle only on big toe. This was after being put in a chair with scolding hot water and waiting for the fake job for over half an hour, which I was not advised I would have to wait at all. I've rarely gotten my nails done because I usually just paint them at home. But I wanted to get a fun design before going to Tokyo Disneyland. I was going to Disney bound as Rapunzel, so I wanted purple nails with white flowers. I found an inspo pic online, and the nail tech turned it into something even better! I don't have much exposure as to what normal pricing is for nails, but I thought $65 pre-tip seemed fair given the design, gel nail polish, and 2 false nail tips (my 2 index finger nails broke before I came in). I got these done 11.13.23 and they still look good as of 12.4.23! I don't think I can live with just plain nails anymore. read more

I've been coming to this place for over a year come here faithfully. The amount of disrespect I got today was so awful!!!! How they treated me there. The card machine isn't working so I had to transfer money to another account to do Zelle. I don't mind doing that but the way they treated me was unacceptable. The whole time she was side eyeing me. The older lady kept talking shit to me. I never once cause them any issues. Even when they make me wait forever I never complain not once but tonight was my last time coming here. I guess the 2 lady's are new but you don't treat people like that specially talking really loud in front of a customer I was so highly embarrassed. I can afford it that's why I'm here often. Worst pedicure of my life! This was my second time going to this nail salon for a pedicure. My first visit went well so I thought I'd give them another try. My french tip gel shellac today was the most severely disappointing pedi I've ever received. Firstly, there were no other customers in the nail salon so I don't understand why the quality and attention to all the details were lacking. My nail tech did not remove dead skin from my feet nor any of the cuticles. The lengths of the toenails are uneven. The shellac is thick on some nails then thin on the others. The line work is crooked. I asked the nail tech to take off the excess skin and she said she already did. I asked again, "Are you sure?". The cost was $55 and I still tipped. The service I received was under an hour. After more careful examination I see that clearly she did not do what I had requested and now I have to give myself a pedicure at home on my birthday. read more

One of the crappiest nail experiences I have had. The tech was clearly annoyed to have to do my nails and told my nails were too short for shellac she began shouting to the other tech and they asked me if I wanted long nails. Throughout the entire time she was cleaning my nails she dug the tools into my cuticle. I had to tell her two times that she was hurting me. When it came to wiping my nails down with alcohol she did one side and not the other. I told her she forgot one side and she reluctantly did the other side. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. My polish lasted a week and it was shellac. Appears that she did normal polish with a gel top. Polish began chipping quickly. They were also trying to charge me $45 when for shellac it was listed as $35 I chose a shellac polish but they were trying to charge me extra for a chrome top that they did not specify at the beginning of doing my nails. Incredibly unprofessional spot. Would not recommend going. read more

WOW! I'm surprised by all the bad reviews on here! I came in yesterday for a pedicure and a eye brow wax. The ladies too care of me right away. ( by appointment only ) my nails came out so gorgeous ( see picture ) my brows are back on fleek! Lol I went home a couple hours later I went put on tennis shoes one of my toes weren't dry all the way. Ooopppsss. I came back into today and they fixed and made it right! I'm very happy with the service they provided me and made me safe coming in as well. I will definitely back to use their services again. I support this nail salon for wax and pedicures or really any service they offer which I might give other services a try sometime. Lisa is my most favorite but sometimes she's not available, so someone else works with me. Update: I just returned today for another wax service and I will always go back to Lisa as well as recommend Lisa. I met Lisa about 7 years ago and was loyal to her at the other salon she worked at over on California ave after my other favorite lady of 10 years sold her shop and I found Lisa but then she left the area for awhile and I kind of just went to all the places, not really finding a place to return to regularly. I decided to stop back by Tulip for more waxing services,.and here Lisa was here back in the area and gave me a friendly greeting and remembered me. It's small and quiet and because it's in Jefferson Square you don't have to worry about finding parking. Her price is more than reasonable and included an arm and neck massage. It was an unexpected treat! Lisa's been doing nails for almost 20 years. Did this weird brown discoloration do I went back and they re did my nails and they were this really great purple color but a day passed and they turned color just Like the first time. Absolutely terrible. And the lady who did my nails was so aggressive with the buffing tool she made me bleed. Don't go don't do it. Waste of money waste of time. read more
