I've been going here for over a year, every single month. The ambience isn't bad when they play music. I've tipped generously, even when I've been nicked, or my nails have been filed too thin, or my nail shape has been not what I requested. And while the quality of the service has been hit or miss, what put me off is that every time I go here, none of the staff greets me. They greet other regulars though. Or times I've been here, they double book guests and work on two people at once, or accept walk ins and make you wait despite having an appointment. As usual, I had a great time at this salon! I have been coming here on and off since probably middle school. The people here are so nice and attentive. I came today with my mother to get a gel manicure and pedicure in preparation for my wedding. Min did such a beautiful job and she was really helpful to my mom, who wasn't even her client. The prices here are really affordable too: I paid $105 for a deluxe gel pedicure and a sort of dip powder-gel extension manicure before tip. My long-time salon closed so I was seeking a new place for pedicures and shellac manicures. I was skeptical of coming here because of the lack of parking and it's right in the heart of the Junction. The past two times I've lucked out in getting something on the backside of California. My first shellac lasted at least three weeks, no lifting at all and but for the grow out at the base, I could have stretched it out longer. They put three coats of color, whereas most shops only put two. They're also great because they don't charge you an extra $5 to remove old shellac. Though they do take walk-ins, I've called in advance to make an appointment so I'm not roaming the Junction killing a half hour. read more

I walked in for a nail removal, I rock extra long acrylics. The lady who greeted me was rude and said they were busy and to come back in a half hour so I did against my not great gut feeling. when I got there i had to wait another 20 minutes to be helped. When we started I told her one of my nails hurt and I thought it might be broken underneath. She did not take a single precaution to at least try and make it easy on me. At least hold my nail bed when you're chopping the length?? OUCH! It was the most painful acrylic removal OF. MY. LIFE. I'm almost 30 and have been getting my nails done since highschool. she said it hurt because my nails were thick. they were normal for an acrylic set, I've been going to the same lady for six years UNFORTUNATELY she had to move. She had me soaking my hands in a bowl of acetone off and on for an hour and I still left with acrylic on my nails but at least she filed it down thin! read more

Loved my pedicure and shellac manicure - for a very reasonable price considering other salons in the area charge more for the same service. Cherry was great and loved her foot/leg and hand massages! Salon wasn't crowded on a Friday afternoon around 2pm but picked up a bit as I was finishing around 3pm. I like that they don't have distracting music or a loud tv on, it was refreshing. I got a pedicure here this afternoon. The lady painting my nails didn't wait between layers. As a result it's been 4 hours and my toenails still aren't dry. The top layer is dry but if I push on it wet polish comes out the sides from the layers below that never got to dry properly. It's the worst pedicure I've ever had. read more

This was my second time going to Rose Nail Salon and it will be my last. The first time was great,but time it was absolutely horrible for the following reasons: 1) For my shellac removal the nail technician tried to pull the shellac off with her fingers, even after I asked her multiple times not to. This was even before filing the top coat and soaking in polish remover! Afterwards she then proceeded to yank the shellac with a cuticle clipper instead of scraping it. My nails are now severely scratched and damaged. 2) For my nail repair she initially just added glue. I asked her again for the full nail repair and she had to ask someone what do to. She only added a small piece to cover the crack of the nail which left a ridge instead of being smooth. I asked her to fix it and she said it should be fine after adding nail polish. As you can see in the attached picture, it does not "look fine". I am really disappointed with the service, or should I say lack of service that I received. There are plenty of other nearby nail salons that you should visit instead this one. read more

I decided to take an appointment for pedicure. I picked my nail color and headed to the area and was waiting for someone to assist me. Since everyone was busy I decided to sit on the chair. The pedicurist was finishing up someone so she turned on the water so I can sit and relax. She came back and began with my Pedi. It was around 5.30ish and she looked really tired. The massage was less compared to other pedicurist but oh well! I thought I had a good pedicure until I was waiting for my nails to dry when I say callus on my feet! I popped in with a friend to inquire about two pedicures and was asked if we could come back in 20 minutes, which was fine as we weren't in a huge rush. The two women working were both with clients. We returned in the 20 minutes and didn't have to wait long to get seated. I will say that their color selection of regular polish is a bit lacking. A lot of red/pink/purple shades and that's about it. Perhaps their regular clientele leans towards that color family. This was my first time in but my friend has been a few times and suggested it. The pedicure was ok. It wasn't bad and it wasn't awesome. She trimmed and filed my nails, cleaned up cuticles and cleaned up the dry skin on my feet. Then did a scrub and a pretty nice massage. She applied the polish mostly accurately. She was nice and not super chatty, which was ok as I wanted to catch up with my friend. I will say that for my friends pedicure her massage was quite a bit shorter than mine and some of her cuticles were trimmed too much causing some bleeding. The salon is quiet and clean. I believe the pedicure was $35, which is fairly reasonable for the service. read more

My shellac manicure and pedicure have stayed on for so long. I have oily nails and if shellac is applied poorly, comes off in a week. After going to Rose Nail Salon it has stayed on 3+ weeks! I'm very picky about shaping, cuticle cleaning, and paint application (not too thick, letting it dry between layers/ not rushing). This place is fantastic. The staff are super welcoming and kind. After reading the reviews i decided to stop by Rose's. The salon is quiet and clean but the woman helping me seemed like she didn't not want to be at work. Maybe she was having an off day but the entire service was terrible. When cleaning cuticles, she was rough and poked me a bunch of times. When I let her know, she didn't correct for it or apologize. She cut my nails before checking with me on lenght. The leg massage = rubbing my leg. And when she used a hot towel, she didn't check if it was too hot (which it was). Tiny, but nice salon. There are three pedicure stations and three for manicures. Everything seemed clean and in good shape. You can walk-in, but their phone was ringing off the hook with women making an appointment, so that's your best bet. Be sure to bring cash - I never saw a credit card machine. The salon is run by two women, Rose and Min, who are both super nice. I was getting a gel full set for the first time. Rose was great. She gave great suggestions on what would, and would not, work and look good. She's the expert, so I just sat back and let her do her thing! What stood out for me was the fact that they knew all of women who came in to see them. They also asked about their families and remembered family names. That tells me that they value their clients and have regulars who keep coming back. While my gel set wasn't perfect (one nail had a tiny bubble), they look great overall.
