I've accumulated my favorites, and a lot of them feel less like people providing a service and more like familiar neighborhood aunties/friends I haven't seen in a while. They will ooh and aah over whatever I happen to show up wearing, whether I'm actually dressed up or have rolled in looking hobo chic in sweats. New Hair color, fading hair color, eyeliner, eyeshadow, jewelry that is expensive or absolutely not expensive... somebody will notice it and hype me up. They also have no problem side-eyeing me when I disappear for weeks and eventually return with nails or toes that are WELL beyond their maintenance date. I get scolded for neglecting them, give my excuses about traveling, being busy or simply being too lazy/burnt out to care, and receive the appropriate sympathetic nods mixed with disappointment. Then we carry on. That familiarity is honestly one of my favorite things about coming here. Quality can depend quite a bit on which tech you get, though, especially for Gel-X and nail art. After this many years I know whose work suits me and who I prefer to book with. I've had some beautiful sets here that (I mocked up the design & bring a visual with me) strangers have literally stopped me to compliment, but I've also had sets with premature lifting and recently had a Gel-X extension pop completely off in under five days. So for anything more involved, I recommend finding a tech whose work you like and booking with them specifically. The owner and I are decidedly not each other's cup of tea, and after four years I generally prefer coming at times when she isn't there. I'll leave it at that. My affection for this place has always been much more about the techs(staff) themselves. So no, it isn't a salon I'd describe as flawless or perfectly consistent. But there are women here I genuinely adore seeing, they've done some wonderfully ridiculous colorful nails for me over the years, and there's something lovely about walking into your neighborhood nail salon after disappearing for a while and immediately being greeted with, essentially, "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I missed you!! And look at your nails!"
