I've been coming here for over 7 years now and it used to be the only place I trusted with my hair. Sadly, I will no longer be returning due to my last 2 experiences. Last time I came in for a cut the lady rushed me and also completely torched my hair with the blow drying with no heat protectant- I could smell my hair sizzling. Fast forward to today, I booked a FULL highlight as I wanted my hair to go majority blonde. I repeatedly asked 4 times to confirm a FULL highlight with both the stylist and the owner. I also showed them a photo of what I wanted. What did I receive? A partial highlight and now need to wait months to get what I wanted. The stylist said "my boss told me to do a partial". Unfortunately I will no longer be returning to this place for my hair. :( read more

I got highlights and a trim from Jessica yesterday. She was congenial and attentive as a stylist. I can tell she likes to work with people, which is always a plus. I was drowsy, so she got me a cup of jasmine green tea. While I sat there, I got to enjoy the comings and goings on the salon. Regulars trickled in for cuts and conversation. I got to see three children get their hair cut in that time frame. All of them seemed comfortable in the hands of their stylist - and they were all eagerly anticipating the complimentary treats that followed. Older clients came in and joked about how long they'd been coming to the salon and how old they were now as the stylist reassured them that they had the hair of a 20 year old. I was amused by the authenticity of their exchange and the shared commitment to the good natured exaggerations. A couple even came in to bring Tram a care package while I was glued to my chair accumulating my metallic sheen. I happened to overhear that she was sick. While there, the man got a trim because why not? He was at their neighborhood joint. Vibe check: A+. I would sit here for hours again to bask in the rarity of a thriving local business with a loyal, friendly clientele. It was like peeking into a whole new story with which I had no connection, like watching a sitcom - but none of the characters were a-holes. After foiling up, I went next door to get a pedicure while I waited for my hair to process. The woman who gave me that service - sorry, I forgot her name, but she has a bob haircut - was kind and assuaged my anxiety about my unshaven legs. She asked me "why should we have to always keep shaven? Men don't". Valid point. Plus, she said that people often shave before coming in and the pedicure process can actually can irritate their skin. Good to know. The pedicure was great. They talked me into getting my nails buffed and a simple shoulder massage as well. That wasn't the best service, to be honest (it was not the same woman who gave me the pedicure). I know they were just hoping to upsell me because it was a slow day. I get that. I wish I hadn't paid so much for it, but that's ok. It was clearly a pamper day for me. Back to the hair salon side I went. Jessica toned, washed, blew dry, and styled my hair in a surprisingly short period of time - or maybe it just seemed that way since I'd been there so long. Her swift work didn't yield sloppy results though. My hair was smooth, slightly curled, and far more presentable than I usually appear. She asked me where I was going now that I looked so lovely. "I told my friend I would watch her dogs", I responded. "What?? You should be going out!" she said before acknowledging that I was right about the dogs not being left alone too long and joked about how pretty I would be for them. Then I paid and headed out, letting her get to the next client who walked in. The dogs did not seem to appreciate the hours and dollars that I had dedicated to grooming, by the way. Hit or miss. Been coming here, on and off, for 15 years. You have to be VERY clear on a men's haircut. Several times I've said to leave the front of my hair longer than the back and top and the stylist hacks the front short. Some stylists listen, others just get you in and out as fast as they can and don't listen. read more

I had my hair cut here several months ago. The man (whose chair is by the door) did a TERRIBLE job. His idea of a trim is 3-4 inches off! I called the owner and did not write a review. She promised a free haircut by her the next time I came. I called and made an appointment yesterday and she said that one of two people could do it. I reminded her of my previous experience. I cautiously went in to the salon and asked for Jessica or Julie. Jessica was busy so Julie cut my hair. She listened and asked questions. She did a great job! I briefly explained my previous experience. She seemed to understand. At some point Tram came to cut someone else's hair. She did not acknowledge me. She made no effort to make me feel welcome. Thanks to Julie for a great haircut! It was not free though as Tram had promised. I didn't want to cheat Julie out of any money. She tried hard and did a very good job. read more

The quality of experience in the team here is awful. They should not be cutting hair at all. I have given it a benefit of the doubt by going 3 different times and have 3 different people attempt to cut my hair - which is short and they ALL mess it up. The whole place is just a foreign vibe they talk amongst themselves and seem to be making fun of their customers and the bad cuts they give. It was cheap so I guess I got what i i paid for. Dirty. Clutter everywhere, the chairs for washing your hair or broken, the upholstery was ripped in multiple places, there were stacks of paper and boxes everywhere. Amy was my hair stylist and she did a phenomenal job! Tram was busy with other customers but she was supervising every now and then. The salon is nice clean and tidy. Overall it took them almost 3hrs to get done with my haircut (cleanup), hair color and highlights! Loved the end result. Tram also mentioned the rates upfront which helped me get an estimate and knew what I was signing up for. I have been going to this salon for 12 years. I have almost always gotten haircuts that I have been pleased with. I went there today, and the one woman who was working did not look up from her client, or acknowledge me in any way. It was SO awkward. I sat down on the empty waiting area, and I thought I'll give this a few minutes to see what happens. A customer who was in the middle of getting color came inside after being at Tram's nail salon next door, and the employee told her she'd be right with her. I looked at the employee, and she saw me looking at her in the mirror. She actually kinda gave me the side eye. I left, and I will never be back. I never went there for customer service; I went there because it was convenient and they took walk-ins. They were never especially great at customer interactions, but this was ridiculous. I'm SOOOOOO sad to be writing this post because I really had enjoyed most of my experiences previously. However, I've discovered since my last experience how poorly their process is regarding shellac/gel nails. My nails have ALWAYS been super strong and never had any issues with about 4 years of continuous gel/shellac applications without breaks or time in between. After the last two visits to Tram's I was concerned with the way the nail Tech was removing my gel. She only left the acetone and foil on a couple minutes and then forcefully used the metal scraping tool and the tweezers/scissors you use to cut cuticles to pry off all of the remaining shellac while taking off the top layers on my nail beds as well. Every article I've read since says this should NEVER BE DONE, EVER! Now I'm going to have to wait months for my nails to recover from the abuse at Tram's Salon. It's nothing against the techs there, they just must not be patient or able to take the extended time needed to properly remove shellac. Don't ever let anyone remover your polish they way they did mine! read more

My son (almost 5) was pretty nervous about getting his hair cut and barely would go in. He sat in the chair and the stylist treated him just like any other customer which reeeeeally helped and he realized it wasn't really that scary. They accommodated us when I only called 30 minutes before and even didn't seem to mind my 2yo hanging out there (or maybe they did haha). It was all super relaxed and great for a kids haircut. Well, glad to say that our experience at Tram's Salon was a great one! Definitely will be coming back! The ladies here are very skilled and fast. They are attentive to the clients and don't rush through the job! We had a scheduled appointment and were seated right away. The salon was clean and bright, relaxing music and decor. Our nails turned out amazing and one of us even got a design that matched the reference photo really well. (The nail tech I asked sadly said they can't do marble nails, just a fair warning). Prices were fair, $30 for shellac nails (which I recommend because they last longer) $35 for shellac + design. The employees were overall nice and made small chit chat which is always welcome with The Three Birds. read more

I wish this could be a good review because small businesses need all the help they can get during the pandemic however I can not overlook the neglect and bad service. I've been getting acrylic nails for over 2 years and had been going to trams for both acrylic sets and pedicures. I had a full set done however two nails popped off after only a few days. So I went back in to fix them which they graciously did for a small fee of corse. I had a woman fix the nails that had popped off however the shape of the new nails were off. The nail looked bubbly and uneven with lumps of acrylic. I went to a new nail salon where they took off the old set only to reveal that the woman at trams who 'fixed' my nails shaved them down so thin I couldn't get even a regular manicure. My nail now has to grow out and heal. I was in pain with a throbbing finger. I do not recommend trams because any good nail tech wouldn't file the nail so thin it's on the verge of falling off. In the picture you can see that most of my natural nail is now warped and chipping. I was legitimately concerned that the nail itself would fall off. read more

They are very affordable and when we make appointments for my son and I they get us in and out in under 30 minutes. They are always very clean and so personable. We have also booked out their entire nail salon twice for our employee appreciation days and they can accommodate all 15 of our staff and have them looking and feeling so good. I have been to Tram's twice now, and I was pleasantly surprised that their nails last three weeks! Usually shellac only lasts on me for a week and a half or two. The only reason that this place does not have 5 stars is because each time I have gone to get my nails done it takes at least an hour, when in most places it takes 20 or 30 minutes.
