I cannot recommend this salon highly enough. For a little background, I am a single mom whose only splurge is her hair. I recently moved from LA where I was completely **spoiled** with movie star quality salons. I was nervous I would not be able to find anyone that could make my frizzy dishwater blond mop feel manageable... and dare I say, attractive. After doing lots of homework all roads led back to Coco & Co salon and specifically to its owner, Antonio. I feverishly worked to book an appointment and I knew I was in expert hands before even sitting in the chair. Antonio did something no previous LA hairstylist had, he asked about my day to day and what I was really looking for from my hair cut weeks after I left the chair. It blew my mind! It felt so easy admitting things I've known about myself for years: I don't know how to style my own hair, I barely have time to brush it, I maybe had a blowdryer at some point.. and a ponytail is perhaps the norm 3 days a week. Antonio LISTENED and he used my own day to day reality to give me THE PERFECT haircut and style, for ME. Antonio gently helped me understand that some of the inspiration photos I brought in... would put me a little over my skis (IE: need a round brush, wouldn't fit in a ponytail, would drown out my skin). He also helped me realize that I wasn't too old for other looks and should embrace framing my face, etc. Probably the most amazing thing about Antonio is that he showed me exactly how the hair would grow between cuts and how I could move the part to get more fun looks ... meaning the cut would still be fresh the entire time between cuts. No salon in LA has ever left me feeling as good about myself MONTHS after a hair cut. Antonio lived up to all his positive online reviews and I must agree, he really is a hair genius. I recommend you not only go to him, but you commit and trust fall into his advice. went to CoCo and Company and Antonio did a really inexcusably terrible, trashy, brassy " partial " foil on me. He changed me $450 on the color and cut. The cut was great. In retrospect I remember that Antonio did Not show me the back of my head! It was days later when the other nurses I work with commented on how bad the back of my head looked and asked why none of the grey was blended into the rest of my hair, causing it to have a tacky chunky look. Please keep in mind that I had a lengthy consultation before my hair was touched and I expressed wanting a medium size foil and used my fingers to show how wide I wanted. He also said that his partial foils start at the temples to crown. Antonio ONLY foiled my hair from crown to cheek bone and so I had only a layer ( few inches ) of color on top. HE NEVER PUT ANY COLOR IN MY GREY HAIRLINE Keeping in mind that I was so blinded by his phenomena haircut and blow out that I kept telling him how much I loved it. After I saw the back of my head and had negative comments about the color I messaged him about how bad the color is and I sent him the exact same pic of the color that I am posting on here. Desperate to get halfway livable color I convinced myself to give him a benefit of the doubt that he could correct his work, I told him I would let him touch it based solely on his reviews. In r retrospect my guess is that the reviews are either very old or faked. Ultimately he refused to refund me one penny and offered to put a toner on. That's rediculous because what I needed was More bleach not darker. Keep in mind that I showed him pictures of the color I wanted during the consultation. Then he said that he would charge me $220 dollars to fix it. What I need is a COLOR CORRECTION. I'm getting upset writing this review. I didn't want the negative energy of reliving all of this but kept imagining some poor woman having him color her hair for the holidays and felt an obligation to let you know precisely what he did. I went in on a Friday afternoon and in the rush to leave, Lan seems like she took a few short cuts. It's my first time hair dying with Lan. I went in not knowing much about color and feel a little taken advantage of. I was clear in the beginning I didn't want red / yellow tints in my hair which is what I ended up with. We could've added more glaze to cover it up but Lan wanted to leave for the Friday. When I said the result was too orangey, she said my hair would change in the sun and her lighting was warm and it only looks like that in the top part of my head because that part is much more dense. I went to another salon to correct the color who thought I'd done it myself from a box. They told me that it was strange that Lan didn't use foil to lighten the hair and the lightest hair would get with that method was orange. They said the only reason to not use foil is the amount of time it took which checked out with how rushed it felt. I had to go to another salon and sit in a chair for six hours to take out the remaining red Orange with foil. I was also told the color job was uneven and was lifting unevenly. Overall it was a total waste of money and a half ass job. Instead of owning up to anything, Lan gave me excuses saying the uneven application made it look natural, etc. She was super friendly and personable though. read more

I've been searching for a salon with this quality of expertise for years, and found it here! I'm so grateful that I found Antonio and his team. For people who think they know the story of the mural, I believe that looking into the matter more will show you that the full details have been omitted. CoCo worked with the coffeeshop to create a mural, which is partially on CoCo's property. The input that he was told would be incorporated was left out, so he added the components, which are all of inclusion and on his property. He added notes of love and equality. The coffeeshop became enraged, thus the disagreement began. Police were called in and said that CoCo is in the right, but the West Seattle Blog failed to report on that. So I didn't want to leave a review but this didn't sit right. I had two layers of beaded wefts for my wedding. I came here because they have extension experience and seemed good with blondes. I wanted to maintain my extensions and find a new stylish after moving to the area. Well, the salon had a leak and it took me 45 min to get to the temp place only to learn the owner was over 30 min late. I waited. He was soooo nice. Until he literally talked bad about my extensions the entire time. Yes, they were knotted. I had multiple days of glam for my wedding, boat rides, atv rides all in Hawaii. I needed help not a lecture. He took forever taking the beads out....but wait for the good part. My extensions literally were coming out where the beads were!!!!!! I wasn't happy. I just bought these for over $800.....I still stayed patient. He said "it's fine, you'll have an ombré" which I did t want. I don't spend this much money on my hair for some bootleg ombré. He didn't have the right tools to take out the beads properly. NOW THE ICING!!!!!!! I didn't feel comfortable going back. Didn't want to loose more pieces if my extensions or hours of my time. I found someone in tuckwila.....only to learn, it wasn't just the extensions that got chopped!!!!! He chopped my hair!!!!!!! My own hair, which is to my mid back. I have 6 pieces of inch long hair!!!!!!!!! He knew what he did. He assured me it wasn't my hair. So unprofessional. Kept trying to sell me keratin extensions, I'm sure to hide the fact he chopped off my hair. I now have to keep my extensions so you don't see the missing pieces in the back. They must be paying for good reviews and deleting unfavorable and probably banning the authors from further reviews on yelp. Apparently you have to pay for each section of hair to be cut. I asked for front to be longer than back and nothing was cut anywhere else. I was told I had to rebook and pay $75 more to have more than front cut. So I paid $75 to have 1/4 inch of hair cut. I had stupidly given this salon a 2nd try. The previous visit the "stylist" just stood and told me I had to tell her how to cut my hair. I made suggestions she offered nothing else and after about an hour I noticed nothing had been done. I was going to pay for no hair cut. I had bought a product so when they put in the tip they arranged to have the total amount of "style" and product be the total so I ended up tipping for the cost of a product. I had to go to another salon to have my hair cut. Avoid this travesty like Covid19. read more

Antonio is honestly one of the most talented and kind people ever! I went in on July 4th (he came in on a day he wouldn't have usually just to do my hair), to get my extensions done. He made sure the colors and length were exactly how I wanted them before we got into the actual process of doing my hair, which I greatly appreciated. Throughout the hours that I spent with him I got to enjoy his humble and kind personality as he took my hair from almost a bob to cascading down my back. This man is a miracle worker! I had an appointment for a cut and color with Sara and I am the worst customer. I showed up late as a new client for a pretty serious hair makeover. She was absolutely gracious about it and we talked about color (which came out fabulously) and then looked at some pictures and talked about the cut which was going to be a pretty big change from my current style. Cute Salon on California in West Seattle. They're by-appointment, but once you're in, you get their full attention and they do a fantastic job with color, highlights and lowlights. I've only ever gotten a trim, but I feel like I'd be in good hands if I wanted to try something new. Recommend! Update: I have been going to Tiffany at this salon for more than two years now for color, cut and highlights and she is fantastic! All of the staff seem like pros, but she's MY pro and I couldn't be happier. I have long brown (with a fair amount of gray, if I let it live) hair and she gets it perfect every time, never brassy, it never gets damaged, she does the prettiest highlights for me in the summer and was flexible with me through my pregnancy, making me feel really comfortable with everything. The salon also keeps the place updated with tools and decor, so it always looks fresh. They also have air conditioning in the summer. I can't recommend Tiffany or this place enough! read more

After doing my usual review-scouring, I finally decided to let Coco & Co take a crack at my horribly damaged/irregularly colored hair. Thank flipping heck, I made the right choice! My stylist was Lan Le, who is fairly new to this lovely (relaxing) and modern salon. It was very obvious from the get-go that she was incredibly detail oriented, and wanted to get as close to my dream cut/color as possible. I rolled in for a 2pm appointment, greeted warmly and asked if I wanted a beverage while I waited. I rolled back out again at around 5:30, after Lan Le worked magic stripping all the horrific blue dye from my tresses and tamed them back to their previous glory. Long story short: Yes, the reviews are for real. The owner Antonio is personable and skilled, it's obvious he treats all the stylists well and that the general atmosphere is one of low drama and high quality results. And I thought the bad cut was the worst thing about this place. How wrong that was.After an unintentional asymmetrical ( read - one side is cut 1 inch shorter than the other) short haircut from Maekayla, I contacted Nathan- the Salon Manager. He offered a 30 minute Cut Correction appointment with Antonio (the other Salon Owner). 15 minutes and three " Oh, sorry, Antonio will be a bit longer" excuses I left. It was supposed to be a Cut CORRECTION for goodness sake. And you expect someone to wait more than half the time being allotted to 'fix' bad service. Bad Cut, Bad service, DON'T GO HERE. Oh Dear Nathan, I fear your pants are on fire !!! I did NOT come to CoCo the first time to correct a bad haircut- I have been growing out a very short cut for many months and was hoping to find a stylist to be 'On trend" and help with a new style during the grow out. At the appointment for the Cut Correction I was patient the FIRST time when you said Antonio would be 10 minutes and then you fled into the back of the Salon, never coming out before I left. After 15 minutes I had the desk person ask Antonio again and was told it would be another 5 minutes-ish. That's when I told the desk person that it had been over 15 minutes, your clock is wrong , I was leaving AND I motioned to Antonio that I was leaving. You can disagree about semantics if you feel defensive, but I got a bad haircut and poor follow-up service from this Salon and I do NOT recommend it to anyone. read more

Coco & Co has so many rave reviews that it seemed redundant to add another... except I get my hair done in "fantasy colors" and I've had experience with color correction by Antonio, so I can speak to both in particular. I've been getting my hair cut and colored by Antonio for over two years now. I used to do my own hair color with bright Manic Panic hair dyes. Having natural black hair, I had to bleach my hair first to get any kind of bright effect. I'd feel mildly ill for days afterward, but was determined. Once, I bleached my hair then dyed it blue during a sabbatical from work. I knew I'd have to tone it back down for work so I tried bleaching it back down to blonde for my return. Result: serious color disaster. There were uneven, greenish patches and random streaks of a sickly blue hue all over my hair. I have never been picky about my hair color, but for the first time, I actually took efforts to hide my hair - it looked that bad. Despite having rarely been to any kind of salon, I gave in and searched for a color correction specialist. Antonio did the most stunning job of turning my patchy, discolored hair into a gorgeous, healthy-looking blonde/light brown with perfect highlights. Since then, my hair color has continued to evolve as I got a new job that allowed me to try more daring colors. Each appointment, I describe my new hair color idea to Antonio, who discusses the logistics and helps me tailor it to something doable. Antonio mixes colors specifically for whatever idea we decide upon and the result of our collaboration is always gorgeous; usually better than I could have imagined. I'm always amazed by how Antonio can morph one color scheme into another. He took my blue ombre hair and turned it into a fiery ombre of sorts, going from my natural black to red to orange to yellow (both are shown in the photos section). It always lasts and fades out beautifully. When I did my own hair, it rarely stuck around for more than a few weeks. At Coco, they started using the Elumen line, which gives those wild colors longevity. It fades slowly but evenly and I always like it just as much as the initial color. You wouldn't believe how many people ask me if I've gotten my hair done again just because it has faded and is different from the start, but it still looks great, like I just got back from the salon. (Advice: If it seems too intense at first, wait a few washes. Antonio plans for how the color will look long-term rather than just the initial look.) Manic Panic was fun and is great for those on a budget, but AS SOON AS you can afford to get your hair done at a salon, going to Coco is an absolute must. I get approximately five zillion compliments on every hair color scheme Antonio does for me - some people have even told me they were inspired to add a wild color to their hair for the first time. I always book appointments with Antonio, but one of my more drastic changes required a second session to fix patches that didn't quite bleach down enough and apply more color. Antonio is booked extremely far in advance, so I came in for a session with Lili, who did a stunning job of evening out the blonde and applying the color so that it mixed in nicely to the color I already had from the first session. Everyone at the salon is friendly, helpful, talented, and conscientious. Nathan does a great job of running the business. He also brews a delicious vanilla chai latte. Did I mention they serve a selection of complimentary Starbucks drinks? Also, I'm always really pleased by how my side-swoop bangs turn out, and they offer free bang trims for clients, to keep those pesky bangs in line between appointments. My hair inevitably takes some damage from being bleached and colored frequently, but it is in great condition considering everything I put it through. Antonio is always very careful to ensure it doesn't get really damaged. I use the Aveda hair repair line (shampoo, conditioning, intensive restructuring, and daily hair repair (to keep my hair nice and soft. I also get it trimmed by Antonio when I'm in to minimize damage to the ends. My hair cuts are usually the same and always look fantastic (Antonio cuts layers to show off the various colors). If you couldn't tell from everything I've written above, I highly, highly recommend Coco & Co! Even if Antonio isn't available, he and Nathan really know quality and only ever have great, talented stylists work at the salon. Plus, Antonio frequently consults with the other stylists before they start hair color work on their clients. For pricing, I'm not going to say it's dirt cheap or anything (true quality never is), but considering the time put in and how much product gets used at each of my appointments, the price is very reasonable. Like I said, they're very conscientious, and they never nickel and dime you. The quality is amazing and it really is a great value. Ten stars! But since I'm limited by Yelp, I guess I'll settle for five. read more

OMG Balayage! I have a love-hate relationship with haircolor and a tendency to take matters into my own hands (with varying results). Last month I saw Antonio for a Balayage -- we'd talked about color options a few times, and I finally went for it. I've never really cared for blonde highlights, but I swear: I haven't gotten this many compliments on color, possibly ever. The color took my wash-and-go wavy cut (also by Antonio) from "Nice!" to "Who does your hair? Can I have his card?" I'm still just a tremendous fan. Love the cuts, love the color, love the people. Needless to say, I was terrified thinking about trying to find another hair stylist, as I have very high expectations and standards when it comes to my hair. Then I found Antonio. Let me tell you about my hair. I am half-asian with dark brown, almost black color naturally. And I have a beautiful, ashy brown, golden balayage now thanks to Antonio. I mean seriously, it's not very easy to make my hair look Victoria's Secret angel equivelant. Instead bad hair stylists can make it orange, streaky, and yellow. Words that don't exist in Antonio's book. Now I feel like the walking poster child for balayage. Each time you visit CoCo&Co you will be greeted with a charming, smiling Nathan at the front desk. It feels repetitive to be writing this since almost everyone has something good to say about this place, but I'm really pleased with my experience here, and it must be said. My last two hair cuts at other places were disasters, and so I was very wary about getting my hair cut again. I'd just been letting it grow, but it reached that point where the bottom half was dry and damaged. I admitted defeat and jumped on Yelp to find somewhere to get this taken care of. Thanks to the awesome reviews, I decided to give CoCo & Co a shot. I called and made an appointment. They weren't able to get me in for about a week, which was a little frustrating just because it gave me a whole week to remember all the bad haircuts I'd had in the past, but they're popular, and they get busy, so I understood. Lili was the one cutting my hair, and I must say she was fantastic. We chatted, and she listened to what I had to say about my hair, looked at the pictures I had brought for inspiration, and then she did her thing. She made the whole experience very relaxing, and she had some great suggestions about what would work best for my face as well as my hair type. I had never paid this much for a haircut before, but I've also never had a haircut go so smoothly, and have never been this pleased with how my hair looked. I went in for a balayage with Maekayla and she is wonderful. The woman works wonders. She was sweet, patient with me (I was indecisive about what I wanted) and made my hair look amazing. She even taught me how to do a 5 minute supermodel curl to my hair. The salon was gorgeous. I really liked the live edge wooden tables. You can tell the owners both care a lot about this place. I made a last minute appointment before my wedding to get a cut and all over color. I had zero expectations when I made my appointment. I can now say that I have never been treated so wonderfully at a salon. EVER. Zack was amazing in making sure he took the time to explain the color and go over the color charts and spent ALOT of time to try and perfect my curling iron skills. Which, Im sad to say are still pretty bad. :( But I am more than pleased that he was willing to take so much time and care to show me how to do my hair for my wedding in Dublin. My friend came to visit and was all "I need a haircut real bad." So I was like "Well, there's this place up the street, let's try." She called and they had an appointment right away, so off we went. On walking in, I was immediately impressed by how warm and inviting, yet elegant the space was. We were offered a wide array of beverages (Starbucks/Tazo) and the receptionist/owner(?) was very welcoming to me even though I was just there to wait. He said they had time to fit me in after my friend's cut if I wanted one. I was smart. I said "Okay, I guess I could use a haircut." I've never had a hair cutting experience like this! Zack is...there are no words. Nobody has ever taken the time to look closely at my hair and talk to me about the nature of it and how it could look it's best. I always just thought I had bad hair but with Zack I felt like it just needed the right care to be awesome. The whole staff made me feel surprisingly comfortable. Normally I feel awkward and out of place when I get a haircut. I should also mention that the chairs are *really, really comfortable*. During the shampoo, cutting, and styling Zack explained everything he was doing and why. He even gave me a lesson on how to curl my hair and how to do a sock bun. I just had such an awesome ombré experience here. Maekayla did a beautiful job on my color and I absolutely love it. I have been wanting rose gold in my hair and now I have it! So very pleased! Antonio and Nathan are wonderful owners and I can tell that everyone who works here takes a lot of pride in their work. read more
