My favorite tho; he is always very good at communicating about our "plan of attack" with my hair. new to the area, i saw CoCo and Co from the library across the street and decided to check it out. I liked what i found here and made an appt. for balayage with Kim. The salon is small, but not cramped and it has a great vibe. Lots of light, chill music, and everyone is extremely professional but completely unpretentious. Nathan greeted me, asked if i wanted a drink or magazines, and then Kim and i got to work. She is engaging and friendly and we spent several minutes talking about what I want. I hate it when stylists just sit you down or go straight at it without consultation. I was happy with my hair and loved the price, but Kim said to call back if I wanted a touch up because we did pretty substantial color contrast with the balayage. I did end up calling back to have a few places evened out and went back a week later. When i went back, Kim touched up my color on the house and also gave my ends a quick trim. I came to see Yulia for a balayage/ombre. I wanted a more of a subtle look. I showed her so many pictures and she advised me which was actually what and recommended what would be best. She asked a lot of questions to make sure that the end result would match what I wanted. My 3 year old son loved getting his hair cut here. Kim is a kid-specialist, really integrates the salon experience with a great kid's hair cut. I've been to several kid-specific salons, and have been disappointed with the style every time. Kim gave my son a styled haircut, and she offers bang trims. The price is higher than a kid's salon, but the cut is well worth it. Don't expect this to be a kid's salon...there are no silly toys or movies to preoccupy your kid, but expect a professional kid's experience that is well worth it. The salon itself is super cute, everyone is very friendly, and best of all, kiddos get a free mini cupcake from Stuffed Cakes next door. I see Vince when I go to the salon. I am an old friend of his from way back, who now lives in New York City. And when I do travel home he's the only one I'll let touch my hair still to this day. I've gone to some of the best stylist and colorist in Manhattan, and still Vincent is one of the most talented stylist/colorist I have ever experienced. My last trip home he actually did my very first "tape in extensions" (see picture) as well as corrective color and styling (hair cut), and it was absolutely phenomenal! I was finally able to see my favorite Antonio for highlights since COVID lockdown. I was so excited to come in as Antonio does a fabulous job and since lockdown my hair needed him. She is a hair magician and turned my hair into something beautiful and I always looked forward to my appointments with her! Not only does she know me well and how I like my hair, but she's always treads the line with something I'm comfortable with but with a splash of something new! My story is that I was traumatized as a child with hair cuts, I only let my mom or I would cut my own hair due to an unfortunate incident, but now, I only trust her with my hair! really fantastic experience. kitsap has needed an upscale salon and this is it. the decor is great, it looks modern and best of all the doggo manager Angelo, snuggles in your lap while supervising your hair cut. The shop is amazingly cute as are all the employee's! Nathan was very accommodating and able to fit me in at the last minute on a Friday afternoon. I was welcomed with smiles and a great attitude. Lillie was waiting for me when I arrived and got straight to work. she was not too much but just enough and we had a great conversation throughout my entire haircut. This salon is a hidden gem. I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Antonio last year and I'm forever hooked. Antonio truly is a master at his craft. He treats every client's hair like a work of art and spends the time to make sure his work far exceeds your expectations. I had a great experience! I felt like they truly cared about my hair and the outcome. Backstory: I dye my hair at home (been dying it at home for over 15 years). I am not a professional, and therefore I unfortunately dyed my hair an uneven shade of purple/blonde with very light yellow [brassy] roots. Basically, not attractive. I decided to go to an actual professional to remedy this issue. I had an appointment with Amanda, who is fairly new to the salon, but was very welcoming and treated me like a "regular". After I told her my problem (and showed her my hair) she talked me through the whole process from start to finish. When she had questions about judgement calls she turned to Antonio (manager) for help. I was very impressed that she (having many years experience) still wanted another opinion before proceeding. This showed me that she cared more about the outcome of my hair than the appearance of seeming "inexperienced". Antonio was not my stylist, but he made sure that I was properly taken care of and assisted Amanda. I felt like VIP. The price came to around $200 for color correcting, all-over coloring, and haircut. A little pricey, but it was well worth it. I have a lot of quirky cowlicks along my scalp line. When my hair is longer, the weight of the hair helps to disguise the cowlicks. When it comes to haircuts, there is a "sweet spot." When my hair is cut correctly, it effortlessly falls into place. If the stylist takes too much weight out, the cowlicks completely take over. I have neither the tools nor the skills to control them and it drives me certifiably CRAZY! When I've tried to explain these issues to other stylists, their eyes glaze over. No doubt, they think I'm exaggerating (alas, no such luck). Lan listened to my many concerns. She took her time. She was engaging and built a relationship with me. Please make no mistake, my rating ONLY reflects an unprofessional and unusually poor customer service that was offered by one of their new stylists. I respect all of their stylists in general, especially Antonio. I have been a customer since 2014 on and off. I visited the Salon early Feb for a hair service and being a new mom of two, I checked if there was any availability to choose a local stylish as I am based out of West Seattle. Tiffany, the new stylish offered to assist me and spoke me to about pre-booking options.I have to say she insisted that pre-booking is the best way to move forward. I have seen her 3-4 times and I always perceived her as pleasant. At the end of last appointment we made few additional pre bookings and I did mention to her that in case something came up, I will give her a heads-up well in advance. She reminded me I was booked for a hair cut too ( I chopped 5 inches 4 weeks ago) and I had to decline and instead focus on one service. I work full time as a healthcare professional and am a mother of two trying to juggle around. I have always enjoyed talking to my hair stylists about latest trends, asked for suggestions for good hair maintenance etc. I received an extremely derogatory e-mail hours after I left from the stylish citing that she can no longer assist me as I causing her anxiety and I don't respect her time. For the records, I have never cancelled on her a single time. In all the 3-4 appointments, I have never demanded she 'must' do this or that. It was very upsetting to receive an email of this nature. As most decent people do, I sent a note thanking her for services. I still am unable to shake this TERRIBLE experience as a simple upfront conversation would have saved all this. I did send a note to the owner as well and after not receiving any acknowledgment I decided to pen down this review. People go to so called Reputable Salon for positive dialogues/ suggestions and help. In today's world, an average customer can have above average style knowledge. It's unacceptable if the client's request, curiosity and proactive -ness are perceived as unacceptable. If you cannot handle it then, it reflects your incompetency. Please be kind to the client and suggest alternatives. Management please embrace an open and upfront communication style. Being honest in an acceptable way is far better than throwing traumatic emails at your client's back! Be careful whom you choose folks here, what you see is not what you get. Ultimately, no place is worth it if basic human courtesy is missing. Nathan, I choose to disagree with your response. I cannot remember a single time when the stylist or the "multiple stylists" that you mentioned communicating this to me in person. Yet, somehow the stylist felt comfortable insisting on pre-booking appointment in spite of my so- called ignorant/ demeaning behavior. Okay I do feel bad for this two-star review, but it's the truth. I've had my hair colored by the same person for several years. Now that I no longer have that person available to color my hair, I had to find someone new. Who else would I turn to? Yelp! After searching reviews I found CoCo. I live in Edmonds, but the reviews were so amazing, I decided to make the trek to west Seattle and have my hair balayaged, cut, and a base to cover my greys. Names aren't necessary, but I will say she was amazingly sweet. We covered the grays and did a partial balayage. I was specific. My hair had been done, but since there was some grow out, all I wanted was to bring the color up, and cover the grays. I loved the caramel color my hair was when I walked in. It was so me, and I just wanted to keep it going. But it didn't. After we rinsed out my hair, it was dark again. My previously colored hair was now a dark brown. I was disappointed. The stylist realized my disappointment and offered to try to bring it out again by painting additional pieces, and she did. I literally took five hours of this poor girls time, only to have ashy blond streaks. Not the warm caramel of my yester-hair. I was devastated. However at that point I had an appointment I had to get to, so I paid and left. But as I kept looking in the mirror, all I could see was platinum blond streaks and brightness, and all the things I didn't want in my hair. To add insult to injury, I wasn't told I would be charged an extra $20 for toner, and my hair wasn't even colored correctly. What was already right, ended up a totally different color in the end. I've had to go to another salon to gloss it with new color, and am now back to how it was. 4 stars for great service and commitment to to trying to get my hair right. 1-2 stars for not getting it right. read more

So, I walked in the first week it was open, just curious to see if there was ANY possibility that a salon so breathtakingly close to my house could possibly deliver both a satisfactory haircut AND, fingers crossed, some good personality/personal connection for which I had been searching fruitlessly for years. Well, I met Antonio & Nathan, the owners, started chatting and a blow-dry later I was intrigued. A cut and balaiage later I was sold. After the keratin smoothing treatment, though pricey, this later-life curly haired girl became CoCo & Co's willing hair slave. What can I say that hasn't been already said? It's all true. Antonio and Nathan are caring, professional princes of guys. I am not just off the turnip truck - I have gotten my haircut at a bunch of pricey downtown salons for years and never really gotten the combination of personal connection AND expertise that I get at lil' ol' neighborhood CoCo. Antonio told me that their aim was to give West Seattleites a place to go where they did not have to sacrifice quality for convenience and affordability and in my estimation they have met and exceeded that goal. So, Antonio, the lead stylist as well as co-owner, has raised his prices, but he is still more affordable than a comparable owner/stylist downtown and I am pretty confident that my hair is just as good if not better, since I found Coco. Aaaaand, there is a bevy of lovely lady stylists at Coco who are all quite talented and more affordable. You are sure to find someone who can deliver what you are looking for. Or mix and match, as I do, when availability or cost is an issue (Antonio books UP). From your check in at the front desk, to getting a beverage of choice (they can make you a coffee or tea drink pretty darn well), to check out, I think you'd be hard/pressed to find many better experiences hair salon-wise. Antonio is wonderful! Opened his salon on his day off to give my daughter extentions! My daughter has a genetic disorder where her hair is very thin and doesn't grow normally. Update! Located in a quiet neighborhood, Coco's is very clean, cozy, and home-like (you will know what I mean once you visit the Coco team). By the way, Coco and Co offers complementary beverages (they have a menu!) such as lattes, Tazo teas, or soda/pop :) The only products that Antonio sells are ones he uses and trusts, no brands unknown to him. I personally have not gone to this salon even though I have tried very hard to. My schedule is very limited and I can not do weekdays. I tried scheduling online because by the time i get off work the salon was closed. I had a couple replies from this but when I finally emailed some days in advanced (it was 3 or 4 weeks in advance) I got no response. I figured it was easier to call in which i did. I have no clue who I spoke to but i scheduled an appointment 4 to 5 weeks in advanced to do a color. I have been excitingly waiting for this for that long and I call in today because I don't remember the time I scheduled it other then it was at the beginning of the stylists day. They lost my appointment. I was either never scheduled or I was misplaced. I will not ever go here or recommend it to another person because of this awful experience and I am very sad because they looked so professional and had good reviews. read more

I went to see Lili because a friend of mine said that she was great. I'm super picky about hairstylists and have had problems in the past. I walked in and was automatically put at ease by how nice the staff was. I hadn't even met Lili yet but the receptionist and Kim (another stylist) were fun and super down to earth. The space is rather small but not cramped and has such a unique feel! I went in with long brown hair and left with a fun layered bob style and a vibrant red/violet color that I just love!! She did everything I asked and made me feel like I was hanging out with friends more than being a "client" The appointment took a bit longer than anyone had anticipated, do to how much hair we cut off, but everyone stayed late for us and didn't make us feel rushed even thought we were there long past closing.I will be back in the future! Even If I can't see Lili, the other sylists there have amazing talent. I got to watch them work magic on other people while letting my hair set and WOW So much talent in one Salon has to be crime. I wrote a review when I first started coming to this salon and I had to write one now that I have been coming here as a regular and have seen the consistency. Lan is amazing - with both professional cuts and the amazing color she gives me. I am not overstating it when I say that I receive compliments on both the cut and color of my hair almost daily. I have never experienced that when going to Gene Juarez or other salons that proport to provide high-end services. I think what is different about Lan and the team at this salon is that they do not look for constantly building quantity of customers at the expense of their current clients - they look to provide the best services possible to their valued customers. These guys are the best! I've been going there over 2 years (before the new salon opened) and my hair has always been the bomb! Nathan is a great host & the whole atmosphere is warm and relaxing. He is also on ball as an office manager and definitely conscious of what makes a good business tick. I've whined to him about bad customer service/pretentious but yet unskilled staff that has caused me to leave other salons and I can see he's worked to avoid those pitfalls. Antonio is clearly a hair wizard- he can take what you say you want, translate it into what will look good on you and then deliver, deliver, DELIVER! And the best part is that he sends you off knowing how to maintain your lovely look yourself. They should just make me a t-shirt which reads "Hair by Zack at CoCo & Co. Hair Salon." I get stopped nearly every day. No joke and I am an old woman who doesn't wear purple, but has pink hair with depths of purple and blue added. I let my grey out because either you couldn't tell my hair was colored, or the darker colors look too harsh on me. That gets a little tiresome after awhile. So one day when I was too bored and too "past due" to wait for another appointment with my last hairdresser (whom I did love, but could never get in to see without scheduling months in advance because she was downtown and I only got there on weekends), I walked into CoCo & Co. Hair Salon. There, I was greeted by Nathan at the front door. Now, Nathan is not just a little pretty there to smile at guests as they enter. This personable, organized man is an amazing coordinator who knows his business. He asked me some salient questions and then went and got Zack Munds from the break room. Antonio and Nathan have been building this salon in West Seattle for a little bit and this is going to make a difference in West Seattle hair. Antonio brought Zack in straight out of school and Zack had just finished his internship. The people Antonio & Nathan bring in will be very, very special. Zack is. So, Nathan and Zack sat me down and we began discussing how I wanted to explore some fun possibilities with grey hair and being old. We scheduled my first appointment. "The rest, they say, is history." I now have this amazing hair cut and fantasy color which lasts MONTHS. Yes. MONTHS and I can't see it fading. I have to worry about grow out / roots with my pink highlights. The product they use on my hair (for which there is an up-charge, but this makes sense and was discussed before hand) is incredible and the application was well done. For atmosphere, the décor is lovely, but the piece de resistence is the wooden slab they use as the table for the four stations. Nathan & Antonio made this amazing piece of art. It is already difficult to get time with Antonio. Zack is mine, but I'm willing to share. Nathan keeps everyone in order. I love this place! read more

Antonio (the stylist) at CoCo Salon is hands down, the BEST! He's been my hair stylist for years now and I refuse to go to another. When I'm having troubles with deciding what I want to do with my hair before I see him, I just put it in his hands to handle and he always suggests the styles that work best for me! I have a lot of trust in him. I am always leaving with a smile on my face (: Plus, he's very experienced in what he does so I can ask him any hair troubles or advice I have and he always gives me the best tips and knowledge on the subject. This was my first time seeing him at CoCo Salon and it's based out of his home, but he has it decorated very comfortably. He keeps his "home" and "salon" separate in the house. It's very nice. They also have a menu printed of beverages they offer to you that are complimentary, from soft drinks to coffee. I really enjoyed the music that was playing too... but for me, it's not about the salon. It's about the stylist, Antonio! Call and make an appointment! I cannot say enough about this salon. I went to another one earlier today and sat for thirty minutes without anyone saying a word to me. I went out and called Coco & Co and fifteen minutes later, I was sitting in a chair getting my hair cut. Antonio listened to what I wanted done and went above and beyond what I expected. I have been in the hair industry for a long time. I needed a new stylist and always admired the chandeliers in the shop window when I would drive by. So I checked the reviews on Yelp, and I thought, NO WAY! Nobody gets ALL 5 star reviews. So I had to see for myself. The salon itself is very cool. The shampoo chairs are the most comfortable I've ever been in. The energy in the salon was upbeat and relaxed. Nathan made me a delish latte. Julie did my hair, Did I mention I'm a hairdresser and very, very picky? She is meticulous. Really discussed my haircolor in depth and was had strong convictions about needing to grow parts of it out. She was right! She is also very down to earth and fun. I will be back and guess what? I have gone to Julie for all of my most recent drastic hair style changes and she has never failed to deliver. Even if I wasn't 100% sure as to what I wanted Julie and Antonio, one of the owners, would talk with me and help give me ideas about what they think would work best. We moved to West Seattle, I found CoCo and Co through yelp and went to Makayla. She did a great job, but for some reason I felt I needed to check out other places. I did; it was bad. I ended up with a choppy weird mom-do. Went back to Makayla, and just by looking at my hair 2 months after their cut, she knew what they did wrong with regards to hair cutting technique. She spiffed me up, and it was great. I've since moved and had another hair cut elsewhere, and its no bueno. I miss Makayla. read more
