I was seeking a new salon and scheduled an appointment weeks in advance with Foxycut. I confirmed online a few days before and received an email from the salon the day before the appointment. I arrived early and the stylist was not there. The one stylist that was there checked on my appointment when my stylist had not arrived 15 minutes after the appointment time. As long as I live in WA, I'm never going anywhere else to get my hair done. I've had blah, frustrating haircuts for most of my life - my hair is super stubborn and bends in weird ways. Most stylists ignore this, and then they style my hair to heck so it looks good in the salon chair but crappy the next day. Foxycut is the only place that actually works with my hair's weirdness, and I love how unique my hair looks. I had an absolutely stellar experience with Nereida. I went in with low expectations because most of my (very expensive) curly cuts have been fine but not necessarily super exciting, and I was expecting more of the same. Nereida has a very calm and soothing presence, and took the time to really listen and offer thoughtful feedback. She gave me what felt like the most deliberate and careful cut I've had so far, and I even felt safe enough with her to get curly bangs for the first time! Hewe is amazing!!! I've always wanted to change my hair to a silvery, ashy blue but was always hesitant about how feasible it was. I have very thin, very dark brown/black asian hair with a sensitive scalp. After thinking about it, and doing some research, I just decided to go for it and scheduled a consultation with Hewe. Hewe was very informative and answered all my questions and resolved any reservations I had about taking the plunge. So I decided to schedule an appointment (fantasy color) to come back the next week. Honestly, I thought I would have to bleach my hair several times to really achieve the lightness and color that I wanted but I only had to bleach it once, then tone, and add color. Hewe worked some serious magic and chemicals and got my dark brown/black hair to a light silver blue IN ONE DAY. She kept checking in and asking how my scalp felt throughout the day and offered to order food and snacks because this turned into a whole-day affair. But she really did her best to make sure I was comfortable and took care of me the entire time I was there. I've been wanting to dye my hair for years and have been afraid to go for it given my numerous haircut horror stories (I have 3C curls that have daunted many a hair salon over the years). He talked me through every step of the process (including the modifications he was choosing/making to ensure no permanent damage to my curls) and got the color perfect (going for a purple that was noticeable yet still "professional"). He is super friendly and engaging and always checks in to make sure you're feeling comfortable and happy with the end product. TO ALL COILS AND KINKS: GO TO MIGUEL! I have 3C hair and visited almost every single curly focused salon in Seattle that is searchable on Google. Every time I tried a new stylist, I had the worst experience -- so bad that I was going out of state to get my fix. Last month, I finally decided that enough was enough and that I'd give Seattle another chance to redeem themselves. That's where Foxycut and Miguel the "Curly Hair Wizard" comes in the picture. Miguel was professional and brutally transparent when I told him I wanted to go platinum blonde. Because I had other dyes on my hair, I wasn't able to get where I originally wanted but I ABSOLUTELY love my hair colour and cut. If I had gone anywhere else, my curl pattern would have MELTED off. Also, I want to mention that although they carry a wide assortment of curly hair products, they're not coming at you like salespeople trying to up sell you on products you don't need. At the end of my appointment, Miguel gave amazing recommendations that have had a great effect on my hair in such a short time. I will be coming back! read more

I asked for a very simple trim ( to cut off dead ends) and to get bangs. The bangs are FAR too thick, lopsided and uneven. KK did ask a few times where and how thick to cut them but at some point did not listen. There is a spot in the bangs where it looks like I started off getting what I asked for and then a thinker new layer of them are WAY shorter than I wanted and off center to my face. It took 6 years for my hair to grow to just below my elbow and now I am stuck with severely messed up bangs for the next few years. She tried to straighten my hair to hide the fuck up and two days later and a second wash later the true damage can be seen. I will NEVER go back. I over paid for what I got and would have gotten a better cut from a new girl at a beauty school. read more

The 4 stars is based on the appointment booking issue I dealt with and not on the actual haircut service. I tapped on the Book Appointment button from the Yelp app, which takes you to a series of questions. I was inquiring about possibly scheduling an appointment to do a cut and hair color removal. I was later contacted via Yelp app messaging by the owner (I believe) asking to send photos of my current hair color. After sending, he said I would need to schedule a consultation. I asked if I could schedule a consultation but didn't get a response after that initial message. I sent a few more messages, but no response. I later checked the website and noticed that I could book an appointment online. I think it would've been helpful if the person that messaged me told me something along the lines of, "You need to schedule a consultation. Please use our website to make an appointment." After reading many Yelp reviews of the different stylists there, I decided to book an appointment for a color consultation and hair cut with stylist, Cam at 10:30am for the cut and 11:30am for the color consultation. After I booked the appointment, it said that both the cut and consultation, "Needs Acceptance". It also asks if you want to download their appointment app, Vagaro, to check on appointment status. To make sure that I didn't miss anything, I downloaded the app so I could check to see if my appointments were accepted. Unfortunately, the cut and color consultation didn't get accepted so I had assumed the stylist might've been overbooked/too busy. The morning of the appointments I tried to book, I received a text from Cam at 10:20am saying she was going to be late because of traffic. I was a little confused as the appointments still hadn't been accepted. I let her know my confusion but she said to still come in anyway. Luckily my schedule was still pretty open that day and I was able to rush down and get there by 10:50am. I explained what happened and showed her the app and how it still said that the appointment still needed acceptance. She had told me that it confirmed on her end but wasn't sure what happened on the my end. Aside from the appointment situation, Cam did an amazing job cutting my hair! I showed her a few reference photos from Pinterest, told her my daily routine/maintenance, and she knew exactly what type of cut to give me. She also suggested that she could cut my hair in a way so that I wouldn't need to do hair color removal! I could just grow out my hair color and the consultation appointment wasn't needed. I am definitely going back to see Cam! I highly recommend getting your haircut by Cam. She was super nice and really helpful with figuring out what works best for you and your lifestyle. I do think the salon needs to check on their appointment booking system to see if they can resolve their appointment confirmation issues for the user end. Or maybe calling customers to confirm their appointments. I would have hated to have filled up my schedule because my appointment didn't get accepted and screw up Cam's schedule all because of an appointment confirmation issue. If you book an appointment online, I recommend calling to see if it went through on their end so you can confirm with them on the spot. Aside from the appointment situation I had, I really enjoyed my experience at this salon. They have parking, the vibe is pretty chill, and the prices are really good! read more

TLDR: Miguel is magic, his crew is just as amazing. He managed to get my pure black asian hair into a lavender/pink fantasy color in one seating while my hair still feels healthy and amazing afterwards. I had to sit for like 4-5 hours, but managed to have fun in the process. Book him now and don't look back. ==================================================== Story Time: Wow, I don't even know how to begin with this review. My experience with Miguel is nothing short of phenomenal. I met Miguel first for a fantasy color consultation, I had a short virgin black asian hair except for a streak of blond on my right side. Though I've colored my hair before, i've never done a full head. But this time I decided to take the plunge because while you're still young rite? haha From the get go Miguel have this aura of self assurance that makes me confident of his expertise. Given my asian hair, I was ready to go through multiple bleaches and appointments, but from his assessment of my hair he told me that he can do the color I want in one seating. He also took time to explain to the pros and cons of doing full-head vs bayalage (he even drew me a chart!) which I really appreciate. He was also upfront and realistic about the cost and time commitment that I have to put for the work (~ $400+ and 4/5 hours). Fast forward to the day of my appointment, I was his only client for the day because fantasy color transformation like mine took a long time. Honestly, coming in I was still skeptical about the one-seating claim since it never happened from my coloring hair history. But jokes to the nonbeliever i guess, because in around 2 hours, with only 2-step bleaching (hair & root) and tone, he really managed to make me FULLY BLOND. Not only that, while I was expecting that my hair would feel like straw afterwards, it felt really SILKY and SOFT instead. I was so surprised I think I freaked out a little. After that, I was supposed to only color my hair to a shade of ashy lavender/pink. But given our convos up at that point, I let Miguel experiment a little and he gave me a gradation of lavender and silver with soft pink framing my face. It was truly beyond my expectation and I really like how it turns out. My circle of friends are a little on the conservative side, but even they cannot deny that the color turned out amazing and have been giving me praises. Throughout the process Miguel and his crew are all very friendly. Together we watched and talked about everything from Game of Thrones, his hate for 90s Emo Rock Bands, Modern Dance and Competitive Pole Dancing (Trivia: his gf is a pole instructor/competitive dancer). He even ordered lunch and got me sizeable discounts for the olaplex products that I need to take care of my color/hair afterwards. I really came out feeling like I've made a friend. Curly peeps, rejoice! I had such a lovely time at Foxycut two days ago getting a partial foil, bayalage and root shadow with KK. Lesser stylists have quaked in fear at my hair -- it's thick, curly, greying, nearly down to my waist, and has been treated with box dye at a couple points. But KK was more than up to the task! I couldn't be happier with the results. My color looks EXACTLY how I was hoping. As an added bonus, the salon is super cute with fabulous art all over the walls, and every single person I interacted with (staff AND customers!) was friendly, fun and welcoming. Plus, who doesn't want to mainline 80s music videos for a few hours? Honestly, I am already excited to go back. Do not get your haircut at this salon. READ the 1 star reviews and they all have similarities to hair being cut too short. I decided to try a new hairstylist, Richie Rice. I asked for 2 to 3 inches off of my hair, which was below my boobs when pulled straight, U shaped in the back, with some face framing layers in the front. I was very clear and concise with what I wanted. I knew something was wrong by the length of time it was taking her to cut my hair. When she asked me to sit up in the chair and I looked in the mirror, I instantly knew this was wrong. She cut off over 6+ inches of my hair!! There was a whole section of hair missing on one side that did not layer correctly. I told her this was too short and she said, it's just because the layers are short in the front and it was longer in the back. It was irreparable damage. Long story short, I vocalized my displeasure with my hair cut being way shorter and the cut/shape being wrong. The owner Miguel came over and agreed with me that it was not right. I really appreciated him acknowledging this. It was disappointing that Richie could not take accountability for her mistake and did not apologize. Miguel graciously comped my haircut and offered a free one when I return which probably won't be for a year because it's so short. Even then, my trust in this salon has diminished. I spent the rest of the evening crying and processing the loss of my beautiful long curly hair. I'm now looking into wearing wigs for the next 6 months until some of the length grows back. I went to this salon once before and had my hair cut by Natalie. She did a phenomenal job on the shape of the cut. I wish I had gotten it cut with her!! read more

Where to start with this place? I was greeted by almost everyone in the salon the second I opened the door, like actually. I didn't even have my foot in the place so it caught me off guard in the best way possible, I was even offered snacks?! HELL YEAH. Hewe greeted me right away and let me know she was running behind so I would be waiting a little longer and I appreciated it, it took out the guessing game on time. Haircut wise, I got a pretty simple cut. I asked if she was willing to just do her own thing so long as it was following the guidelines of me wanting shoulder length hair and some type of soft wispy bangs. She talked me through what she was doing and her vision on my hair. We ended up going with a subtle angled Bob. I WAS/AM IN LOVE.
