They told me there was an appointment at 10am already scheduled. I come here at 10:45am, it's closed. And now it is 11am. No one there. Kind of not cool. Was looking forward to donating my hair. I didn't receive an email or phone cancelation either. I confirmed my appointment in the email as well. My advice, if you can't show up, call me or email me. Also, it's especially not cool when it's a hair donation for a kid. I understand life happens, but I drove 1 hr for this. The least you can do is inform me of a cancelation. Also, just to add, I was also getting charged for the cut too. So the stylist was suppose to get paid/tipped.

They got me in for a consult the next day, showed genuine care and concern that made the awful situation seem less dire. I was reassured that I would not need a Natalie Portman in V for Vendetta haircut. I ended up really, really liking the cute cut they gave me- it made me not mind having short hair! The ladies at Red Chair rescued me from Hair Hell, and I am so grateful to them! Will be coming back for other services!

Andy helped me work out a plan for it and did a cut that gave my fine, very straight hair lots of movement, texture, and style even with my super low maintenance daily routine. It's been a week now since getting it cut, and sometimes when you do that first week (or even first wash) you have a moment where you're like "hey where'd all the cool haircut go, it's just mush again?" NOT SO. This one maintains great movement and texture even with just blow drying it the night before and tossing texturizer in it in the morning (which I got at a discount thanks to their welcome package). I also loved seeing all the different types of neighborhood people around--not just like fancy people getting their hair done but a really wide spectrum from older dudes to younger NB folx and femmes. TLDR: Great experience with a haircut from Andy (pic attached if you're interested) and really enjoyed the salon itself

I paid a lot and tipped very well just for it to look like an amateur cut my hair. Don't come here. I regret coming here as I looked better with my dead ends. I could've cut my own hair better which I have. This was supposed to be a pick me up to make me feel beautiful now 2 days later I am in regret not feeling like how I should and wanted. Sooooo expensive and terrible results. Also they could've been friendlier. I felt she got tired blow drying my hair. They are supposed to be knowledgeable in long, thick hair, curly hair, wavy hair. I wanted to choose this stylist due to her good reviews but I really cannot recommend her or this salon. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I am distraught. Hair was wet and she sectioned off the hair to blow dry and cut. After she was done cutting, she used a flat iron to show me how to style the layers to make it look fresh and full of volume! If you're looking for a curly haircut in the Seattle area, especially if you have textured or curly hair, Foxycut is hands down the best salon!!!This isn't one of those places where someone took a single curly hair class and suddenly calls themselves a curly hair specialist. The stylists here are deeply invested in their craft, and it shows!! As a queer BIPOC person with very thick, dense curly hair, I've been to more "curly specialists" than I can count. Miguel is amazing!! He's cut my hair through so many stages of my hair. From chronic illness flare ups to postpartum hair loss, and everything in between. Every time I leave the salon I leave with more confidence and energy. What I appreciate most is that you don't just get a great curly haircut. Miguel takes the time to explain what he's doing, teaches you how to care for your curls at home, and recommends products that actually work for your specific hair. Beyond the incredible haircuts, Foxycut has created a genuinely welcoming space. It's one of the few salons where I truly feel comfortable as a BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and neurospicy/neurodivergent person. You can tell they've put real thought into making the salon inclusive, affirming, and accessible. Foxycut is everything you need!! I'm so happy to write a review for Lily T. at FoxyCut! I have a 9-yr-old African-American daughter with extremely thick and tightly-wound hair. Lily has taken great care and has a wonderful way with children! After a a few appointments, Lily made some great recommendations to make my daughter's life easier and her hair more fun to take care of. Lily applied a gentle relaxer, leaving it on just long enough to provide some ease to the texture of my daughter's hair. It still have plenty of curl and is very healthy, but is now easier to wash and comb out. Lily is also a GENIUS with various types of corn rows and braids. My daughter gets compliments all the time. My sweet little girl suffered many years of tugging and pulling at home and in the salons spending torturous hours in the stylist's chair. Now she LOVES seeing Lily! The salon is quirky and fun. Lily is sweet and interesting. And my daughter walks out feeling beautiful and proud of her hair--which is always in a NEW different style each time we go! Lily is a gem of a find--a rare talent with ethnic hair, but also a genuinely nice person who listens to her customers and truly cares about their needs! I just moved to Seattle and decided it was time to take the leap of faith and get my hair colored. I found Foxycut on Google, and am I ever glad I did! I booked my consult and fantasy color appointment with Cam through the Vagaro app. Cam was prompt with accepting both appointments and even rescheduled seamlessly with me when I had to push back our main color appointment due to work. The salon itself is laid back with a come as you are vibe, we watched music videos and some movies (I was there from 10am to 6pm). The stylists themselves there were very attentive to their customers and knowledgeable of their craft and abilities. Cam was no exception in this as she was very informative throughout the process and even with how the aftercare of my hair should go. She was incredibly thorough, and it shows in the finished result! My hair is THICK, long, and a bit curly (I have a 2b situation going on), so I am always apprehensive if stylists will be up to the challenge that is my hair. Cam did not disappoint! She was communicative, patient and answered all of my questions. I could tell she truly cared how my hair would come out. I have been going to Foxycut for haircuts from Miguel for many years. Miguel is a wonderful stylist. Every time, I get my hair done by him, I get many compliments from friends, coworkers and total strangers who stop me to ask where I get my hair done. Having visited several mid to high end salons in Seattle, I have to say I prefer going to Foxycut because I like the service, and above all the warmth and friendliness of the people who work there. These are real people who care for their customers and for their community. I love the down to earth environment. Miguel pays a lot of attention to detail which makes a huge difference to not only how you look after a cut or a coloring but also the longevity of the style. I wear my hair short. As a busy professional, not having to keep getting trims very often is a big plus. Miguel works with me to find styles that compliment me well and cuts each strand precisely so that when it grows out, it still retains it shape. After hearing rave reviews and seeing amazing pictures of final products from Foxy Cut for two years, I decided I'd make an appointment. I wish I had made one sooner! Miguel is a true artist--he sits down with you to really get a feel for what you're looking for, talking you through each idea you might have, and he's pragmatic in choosing colors that compliment you and your ideal result. The atmosphere of the salon is like a family...I never felt uncomfortable or bogged down with forced small talk. And everyone is so friendly and funny! To top it off, Miguel discounted my ombré, the shampoo and conditioner I bought, and even fit me in a day later to really top off the color job. I've never been so impressed with a salon or stylist. I have had my hair cut by each stylist. They are all very good, but I was especially excited for my haircut today. I have seen Miguel in action, as he has cut my sisters hair three times now. Today, I was lucky to have had my hair cut by him! Miguel is a true stylist, as he listens to what you want and your ideas. There is no 'set way' that he creates a specific look. He goes by your hair, its texture, how it lays naturally, and spends time on what he is doing. Its truly a custom cut. I highly recommend Miguel and Foxycuts. I loved Foxycut!!! I walked in today and the owner, Miguel, got me in immediately! The place is super cool; great music, good conversation between all the stylists, and my hair and beard looked amazing by the time he was done! Price is very reasonable, and compared to other places in the area, this is by far the place where you get the most for your money. After one trip, I'm sold, and will be coming back at least once a month. I live in West Seattle, so coming to Pioneer Square can be a bit of a hassle but it is absolutely worth it!! Miguel Vigil rocks. He took my hair from a deep copper red, to a light pink without any damage at all. Many know that lifting red from hair to take it to a platinum enough tone to hold pink can be SCARY. He hit the color I wanted on the nose and was a blast to spend time with. I absolutely love my silver hair by Miguel at Foxycut Salon. At my first appointment, I came in with completely botched and fried hair that wouldn't hold color from a failed at-home dyeing job. Over the course of a few appointments, Miguel got me to a gorgeous silver balayage with dark brown shadow roots. Despite numerous bleachings, my hair feels healthier than it did at the start. I absolutely loved working with Miguel, who I went to for coloring services. He lightened my hair from dark brown to a near-white, followed by a beautiful pastel sky-blue and lavender ombre with UV-reactive green highlights which glowed under black lights. He was as skillful as he was wonderful to hang out with. I got so many compliments on his beautiful coloring - especially when it was glowing! I'll definitely be back! I came in for a lock repair and reattachment service, and the level of care and attention to detail she brought to every row was incredible. She was extremely thorough, patient, and intentional in her work, and it really showed in the final result. Ella also did a great job answering all of my questions throughout the process, explaining what she was doing and why, which made me feel really comfortable and confident in her expertise. This is hands down the best I've felt about my locs after a repair service. I'll absolutely be booking with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for quality, thoughtful loc care.

I found myself looking for a new place to get my hair braided. Friends recommended several people and places, but I settled on Mr. Naturalz. It was local and I'd walked by it many times, but didn't realize they also offered braiding service. What I liked is that their prices were listed up front and stated what was included. I loved that the price included a wash/dry as a lot braiders I contacted did not not offer this. The shop has a low key, friendly vibe. Very clean, great artwork. Everyone was welcoming. My appointment was with Eka and she was amazing. On time, friendly and she got busy! My appointment was at 9:00 and I was out of there around 12:45. I was very happy with the end result and booked my next appointment before I left. I highly recommend Eka if you are looking to get your hair braided. She is quick, professional and has a really open personality which makes for great conversation. (I have not taken a pic to demonstrate the artistry, but will add one later)

I spent over $600 at this salon and left with a haircut and color that were both significantly worse than when I arrived. I was initially recommended to Meg by the salon staff, so I trusted that she was an appropriate stylist for what I was asking for. Unfortunately, she ran out of time during my appointment and rushed through the service. My color was left uneven, and her attempt to correct it with a toner was also rushed. When I got home, my hair was visibly uneven in tone and color. The haircut was shocking. One side was approximately four inches longer than the other, and large sections had been chopped into blunt, uneven pieces despite my explicitly asking for that not to be done. It was so poorly cut that I could not wear my hair down. The appointment itself was also unnecessarily uncomfortable. At one point, two people were drying my hair simultaneously, pulling and tugging in opposite directions. It was painful and felt incredibly rushed and chaotic. Even the products I purchased were incorrect. I was given two conditioners instead of a shampoo and conditioner and had to return to exchange them. I immediately contacted the salon about the haircut and color. I was given another appointment with Meg to address the problems, but the correction made things worse: my hair was darkened several shades beyond what I had requested, while the haircut remained visibly uneven. At that point, I contacted the salon multiple times asking for help resolving the situation. I received no response. I eventually called and was told that my concerns would be discussed and that someone would contact me the following day. That was three days ago. Still nothing. This is what I find most unacceptable. Mistakes happen. What matters is how a business handles them. I was willing to give this salon a second chance, willing to have them correct the work, and willing to communicate directly to resolve the situation. Instead, after spending more than $600, I was essentially ignored. The combination of poor workmanship and a complete lack of follow-through from the salon is unacceptable at this price point. I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere if you are looking for a salon that stands behind its work and responds when a customer has a legitimate problem.

Thankfully I was able to get on Jennifer's schedule and had the pleasure of seeing her for the first time today. She was so nice to chat with and incredibly supportive as I had to bring my infant with me. My mom was there to help but my poor babe was not having it and needed me. Jennifer and the staff were so kind and compassionate. She gave me a nice glossy color refresh, cut, and blowout in an hour all while nursing my baby in between! It's so hard for moms to get time for themselves. I love the inclusive and supportive environment Coven brings to all their clients. Scott was my stylist, he was super nice and friendly, listened to me about what cut I needed and suggested me as well. My cut was good! Overall I had a great experience. The youngish older Asian man who you might meet at Yuki's Diffusion is not Yuki, Apolo Ohno's…read morefather, but Joevir, some other Asian guy who likes to get to know everything about you in the first few minutes: where you live, where you're from, what you do, for whom etc. etc. Yuki's Diffusion, if you've ever been in Belltown, has been in it's same location since 1980, basically forever, with the same 70s decor of Plexiglas and track-lighting (only now the track-lighting fixtures are filled with environmentally friendly fluorescent lights), low modular red furniture, white cabinets with black trim etc. etc. The space is actually quite large, with a mezzanine above (waxing booths?) and a hair-washing/rinsing area in the back. I think Joevir gave me a pretty good haircut; he even recommended I part my hair the other way because apparently my face/head is somewhat asymmetrical and looks better with the part going left to right. And even though Yuki sells a wide variety of your usual salon products (Sebastian etc.) Joevir dipped a little wooden spoon in a tub of Dippity-Do to style my hair into a gelled sort of updo. Belltown dude style. Men's cut: $40.
