On recommendation from my sister, I checked out Fashion Nail for a mani/pedi while I was visiting her in Columbia City. She suggested this as the best of the local nail shops. Presuming four stars. Unfortunately, my experience was really dismal. There were two women working, and no one else in the salon, so one took my toes and one my fingers. The woman working on my toes was meticulous and thorough - everything my sister had said made her like going there, too. Five stars! However, the woman working on my fingers was apathetic at best - she was aggressive trimming my cuticles (not over-trimming what should be trimmed, but slap-dash cutting at the actual skin around my nail bed) and when she applied the polish, she wasn't even looking at my nails most of the time! It showed in the output. The salon was too dim for me to notice at the time, but when I got home and my nails had properly dried, I realized that one of them had a complete gap in the second layer of color. Maybe three stars at this point. I went back in the next day to have it fixed -- the woman who'd done the color wouldn't even make eye contact with me. The woman who'd done my toes was eating her lunch and when I showed her the nail, sighed audibly, clearly agitated, and told me to go pick out my color. 2.5 stars? I couldn't tell from the bottles which was right between two of them and brought them to her. I told her I wasn't sure, so would appreciate if she could verify which was right and then repaint the nail. She painted over the crummy work but only on the worst of the nails, the color didn't match when I got into the light, and she just shrugged. Then indicated that she expected a tip. Super clear this wsn't going to get better, so hoping that multicolored nails are in style now and taking my business elsewhere. 1 very disappointed and frustrated star. read more

I normally come here for my pedicures and Tina always does such a good job! She is so kind. She also understands square square shape and doesn't round the nail. She's gentle and thorough. I will come back to see her every time! Thank you for always making it a comfortable experience! read more

I wasn't sure what to expect when seeing previous ratings but was ready to find a new salon close to home but with better customer service than another I'd been going to. I dropped in and was greeted right away. I'd brought my own colour as I'm used to narrow selections and very particular about what colours I wear to be professional and neutral. Do not worry about your colour selection here! Their selection was quite large with quality brands. It was also colour coordinated neatly so you could find what you're looking for. I'm excited to go back and get a pedicure with a fun colour. My acrylic fill was very neat and gentle. I'm happy to have found a place near home! *Don't forget to bring cash. I had a solid visit at this nail salon so I'm giving them 5 stars. There are at least two signs that say it's cash only. There's a Bank of America immediately across the street (less than 3 minute walk). The service was smooth and efficient, given that I arrived 30 minutes prior to closing. The regular manicure was $20 and spa pedicure was $25. Those prices are undefeated in Seattle from my experience. read more

I really don't like to leave negative reviews, but this place needs to step up their game. I stopped in here for a pedicure and was dismayed to find most of the bottles chipped/old and obviously in need of replacement. I managed to find a color I wanted and the service was just ok. They don't have hot towels, rather you wash your hands after the massage portion. A manicurist on a break was filing her toenails in the chair across from me (who does this in front of customers)? Finally I went to check out and was informed they don't take credit cards, which they never mentioned through my entire service, so I had to walk down the street with fresh nails and get cash. I can't speak for all the nail techs, but I've been seeing Haung for my acrylics and gels and her work is legit. I'm a group fitness coach and her nails have been sturdy enough to last 3-4 weeks, which is amazing in my line of work, I'd Highly recommend her! read more

I came here on July 4th to get a fill, they were one of the few nail salons open! Super friendly and sweet staff. I'm super picky with my acrylics but it wasn't too thick or thin, done in a good amount of time and good price! I can say I am super satisfied by everything, which saids a lot because I usually only go to one nail shop. There is also a wise selection of colors, sorted nicely, clean environment as well! I was aiming for the place around the corner and ended up here instead. Very friendly and nice, but I went in for a wax first, and the woman Would. Not. Stop. plucking my face when I told her to. Three times I had to tell her to stop before she finally did. And that's after she ignored my request for a break. I have a feeling this was a language issue, and I'm not usually one to complain about people not speaking English, but dammit, at least understand "Stop" "No More" "I'm done, that hurts, please stop, I want my effing pedicure now." The acrylic price on the board was $25 but they charge me $28 and the nails didn't even look good, the lady who did my nails wasn't even paying attention that much when she was doing my nails. Went on a whim because my regular salon overbooked today. To their credit I walked in and asked for full set, they sat me down and I was immediately taken care of without a wait. The process was very fast, maybe 30 minutes total, but the girl put way to much acrylic on so the finished product looked chunky. The polish was quickly applied in the same rapid fire manner but looked really sloppy. While I waited for my nails to dry a minute, I thought the girl would come back and clean the polish up a bit, no dice. She was already working on a pedicure. I used to frequently get my nails done here but have since decided to never return. For quite some time I ignored the horrible decor, the not so clean environment, the uncomfortable chairs (most of them do not work) and the rudeness that typically ensued because I found a woman who usually did a pretty decent job. However today after removing my gel and giving me a full manicure and pedicure she informs me upon bringing my change that I did not pay her the last time I was there. What?! What kind of backwards sh*t is that? Why would you provide me with service if I did not pay the last time? Wtf? Do not get your nails done here, there are plenty other places to go. read more

I was surprised by the poor reviews here. My shellac mani lasts almost a month, the color section is huge and the price is good, and the women who work there are warm and funny. I've never been rushed here, even on Saturdays. Also, my friend who came with me uses a wheelchair and the women who run the place treated my friend with respect, asked what they needed to get in the chair and be comfortable and followed their directions. This should be normal, unfortunately it's not, and I was glad the folks working here were so cool about disability. read more

I've gone to this place for years and they used to be great. They lost the two best workers they had and after my most recent pedi I developed an ingrown toe naIl for the first time in my life. I love that they haven't raised their prices but the quality of work has gone down tremendously. They rush when busy and the pedi before this my nails were uneven. I go here every month for a spa pedicure (with the green salt mix that another reviewer mentioned) without polish. It costs me $22 cash plus tip and I love it! Paying cash doesn't bother me and the ladies have never ever been rude. They are Vietnamese and English speaking. I have only had to wait more than 15 minutes once. I recommend them. read more

I'll admit that I go to Fashion Nails because they have great massaging chairs but the pedicures are mediocre at best and after the last 2 visits I have found myself digging out ingrown toenails 2 weeks later because of how they cut my nails. So, I went to this place one day after work on a whim...because I knew the one I really wanted to go to would be ridiculously busy at that time. (I believe it was on a thu) And to my satisfaction, when I got there, there were two nail technicians and one was just finishing up a customer. So I didn't have to wait but a couple of minutes, except when the lady doing my nails stopped every few minutes or so to answer the phone. But long story short, I got my acrylics. They charge really decent prices which is a plus (a star actually)...only thing was I wasn't too happy with the service. The nail tech who did my nails was nice but it seemed like she was rushing so she could get to the next client. I've been to other shops who can maintain speed and quality. Within a few days I could see what looked like air bubbles in the acrylic and chipping on the side of my nails. But the icing on the cake was when I went to pay, I found out they don't accept credit cards!! I didn't have enough cash on me and figured I'd just go to the bank of Ame. across the street. I was charged 3.00 dollars to get money out! This shop is not the worst experience by far but I won't be back, no matter how desperate I am. So if you go here make sure you have plenty of cash. I hate to give a bad review but this shellac manicure was less than good. First of all, after she started she said they only take cash - so now after i have I have to go to the bank and come back. The polish was everywhere and I continued to ask her not to paint/remove the polish from my cuticles. I eventually gave up saying anything and now look like a 6yr old painted my nails. I also had my lip waxed, which she did while I was sitting in my chair in the middle of the salon - privacy please?! The wax was stringing everywhere while she was blowing on the wax on my face - GROSS. Customer service is big for me (2 ladies working) - while I and another lady were getting our nails done the phone rang and she told the person 1 hour wait which was great. Then 10 minutes later two gals walked in for pedicures and she said - pic color and sat them in chairs. The poor person coming in for their appointment will now wait another 35+ minutes to be seen.
