The only reason that this place doesn't get 5 stars from me is because it is almost impossible to find! I went in for a Brazilian sugaring last week and drove up and down the street four times before finally parking and searching on foot. After walking up and down 3 times I finally noticed a small sidewalk sign pointing towards a little courtyard, and then I finally found the door to the place. I can't remember the name of my artist, but I think it might have been Cassie? Either way, I was late for the appointment, she was cool about it, and she got me right in and I was out of there in no time. She was very professional, not grossed out by the fact that I was right out of the gym, and also gave me some cucumber water. I got an amazing 60 minute facial by Cassidy. She was so nice and did a great job! I was so relaxed and I didn't want it to end. I had never tried the Yon-Ka product line before and I ended up really enjoying it. The products smell very nice and left my skin glowing. Cassidy even gave me a free sample of an overnight mask to try at home! It is a little bit hidden if you're not familiar with the area. I love my facials here. First off, the butik is located right off of Harbor Ave. in a beautiful quaint spot overlooking the water. The spa has other great aesthetic appeal too though-- it smells fantastic and is wonderfully calming! It is strategically positioned right next to a cute hair salon- Pinup Hair, so you could technically spend a whole day on Alki getting pampered while being steps from the water. Karen has the softest hands I have ever come across, which is a plus for my uber sensitive skin. It is really apparent that both her and Sara care deeply for their clients needs and are not out to make a quick buck. My skin is always thoroughly analyzed before determining which facial suits me best... Why would I chose a facial when a trained esthetician can determine what my skin needs at a particular moment? Kalyn at the Skin Butik is absolutely the best. Her calm, knowledge, professionalism, and caring attitude really make her a 5 star esthetician. I went to her to get a back wax for summer and not only did she make me feel comfortable while ripping my hair out, her suggestions and counseling for how to take care of myself to make it the best experience were great. The office is very nice, it smelled really good, it was very clean, and easy to find. The more we spoke, the more I knew she was very knowledgeable and someone I can trust with my body care. Seen Cassidy 3 times now. I have sensitive skin and I always have a good experience here. Usually get a facial but last time I added Dermaplaning. I was nervous because I've never had it before. Wow! My husband kept complementing my skin and telling me I look better without makeup. Made me feel great because I know I still had some blemishes but I was glowing. Dermaplaning also gets rid of a lot of peach fuzz. Wish I could go more often. You should definitely ask for gift certificates to see Cassidy whenever your birthday and Christmas come around. Funny story. I left my sweatshirt there and they kept it for me for months even after I failed to pick it up and I told them they could toss it or turn it into a dog outfit. Any time I've dared to go somewhere else, I have found the experience to be painful and something to be endured rather than the relaxing, pampering sessions I have with Sara. Never in my life had I had an experience like the one at Skin Butik. From the minute you walk in, the ambiance is designed to make stress melt away. I had an appointment with Donna, and words cannot describe how happy and relaxed I felt during and after my facial. I made an appointment for a 60 min without add-ons, but I have my second appointment in the works already and plan on not only increasing the time, but adding on to it as well. After my appointment my skin was glowing (even with extractions done!!), I was so relaxed, and I felt like a million bucks. The price is incredibly reasonable given the service, time, detail..
