Lisa let me know that she doesn't like to taper the end of the brow and I was feeling like mine weren't looking feminine enough, so I reached back out after and she offered to adjust them. We had a great time during the appointment. We got things off on the right foot (insert sarcasm here) when I broke her table... Yep, put one butt cheek up on it and the whole thing came crashing down. She was so cool about it, even though I was super embarrassed. I'm fat, so I was blaming myself and she just kept telling me that it was a super old table and she needed to get a new one anyway. I'm pretty sure that I apologized ten times and she insisted it wasn't a big deal. I laid down on the couch in her waiting room and we used that to get things done, lol! Having a baby and working the weekends it's extremely hard so I was very grateful I found a place and Sugar waxing was different for me I thought I'd give it a try. I had my appointment with Kiana, she greeted me offered me a flass of wine and we proceeded to the waxing table. I didnt feel pain at first but halfway through the session i heard Kiana say "Oh Shit", i was reslly nervous what she did to me and my left eyelid was on fire I i asked her to please take a break. Another customer showed up and she told the customer 5 min as if she was rushing. She showed me my eyebrows and saw she had yanked, pulled off a bunch of my eyebrows that werent supposed to be removed. I even asked her for an "S Shape" and later continued to tell me to come back Morgan was a specialist in eyebrows. This is so effed up when i made the appointment i specifically told them i wanted an eyebrow wax and i had a lot of work and trusted them. I am in pain still, my skin is irritated and extremely burned and ended up having a black eye of how rough Kiana was with my brow. I got asked at work if i was assaulted it was embarrassing. The owner Vanessa got back to me 3 hrs later, it seemed to me they were more worried about a negative review than the customer. Also Kiana has left unsatisfied customers. I will put captions on the pictures how it looked like throughout the day and reviews of different customer and texts i received. This was the most painful experience I've ever experienced when it comes to eyebrow removal. Next time I am just sticking with eyebrow wax. I gave it a try, it's definitely not for me and again more painful than thread, or wax. To each their own but had a terrible experience and wish them well. I do hope the owner obviously sees that many customers have been dissappinted by Kiaras service. My advice look into this place before you go there. My experience was awful and very painful and ended up with burned, damaged skin, and a black eye.

I've accumulated my favorites, and a lot of them feel less like people providing a service and more like familiar neighborhood aunties/friends I haven't seen in a while. They will ooh and aah over whatever I happen to show up wearing, whether I'm actually dressed up or have rolled in looking hobo chic in sweats. New Hair color, fading hair color, eyeliner, eyeshadow, jewelry that is expensive or absolutely not expensive... somebody will notice it and hype me up. They also have no problem side-eyeing me when I disappear for weeks and eventually return with nails or toes that are WELL beyond their maintenance date. I get scolded for neglecting them, give my excuses about traveling, being busy or simply being too lazy/burnt out to care, and receive the appropriate sympathetic nods mixed with disappointment. Then we carry on. That familiarity is honestly one of my favorite things about coming here. Quality can depend quite a bit on which tech you get, though, especially for Gel-X and nail art. After this many years I know whose work suits me and who I prefer to book with. I've had some beautiful sets here that (I mocked up the design & bring a visual with me) strangers have literally stopped me to compliment, but I've also had sets with premature lifting and recently had a Gel-X extension pop completely off in under five days. So for anything more involved, I recommend finding a tech whose work you like and booking with them specifically. The owner and I are decidedly not each other's cup of tea, and after four years I generally prefer coming at times when she isn't there. I'll leave it at that. My affection for this place has always been much more about the techs(staff) themselves. So no, it isn't a salon I'd describe as flawless or perfectly consistent. But there are women here I genuinely adore seeing, they've done some wonderfully ridiculous colorful nails for me over the years, and there's something lovely about walking into your neighborhood nail salon after disappearing for a while and immediately being greeted with, essentially, "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I missed you!! And look at your nails!"
