Doesn't look like much, but it's a quaint salon with very staff. Service is great, and the location in the loop is perfect. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because, as I stated it's small. Second, there's clutter in the corners, and in one of their closets. The door stays open, I hate to say it but it looks junky. If you're looking for a mani/pedi at an affordable cost, and with speed. This is your spot. read more

I've visited this salon several times and have been satisfied with my experience every time! My acrylic nails from here last far longer than other places I've visited, and the staff is able to complete sets quickly while still maintaining great quality. Definitely a place to visit! read more

mai is the best!!! i have been coming to get my nail done for 18yrs and she always so a fabulous job!! and her designs are amazing!!!

I wouldn't recommend it. There was an older lady who cut my fingers and made me bleed. Like another reviewer mentioned previously, she was definitely harsh with the nail file and kept going over the spot where she cut and made me bleed. She was in a hurry, didn't take her time and was trying to snag as many customers as she could. She also charged me extra and didn't give me a chance to see how much I was actually tipping her. I didn't get anything too fancy at all but she was basically rushing through it. The gel nails came out uneven and she burned me with the UV gel nail machine. It was a painful experience. read more

Terrible experience. Upfront they said it would be 45 mins and 55 for dip with extensions. Ended up taking 2 and a half hours long - which is absolutely insane for just a manicure. And it was $75 dollars. At first whatever they soaked my hand in burned so badly my eyes started watering. They were incredibly aggressive and the entire experience was truly torturous. And to make matters worse...two of my nails broke off THE NEXT DAY. this place should be closed down. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Wish Yelp would come up with a negative rating system. I don't know her name, but an older woman was my nail tech and she not only took the skin off my finger by driving the nail file back and forth over it, but she burned me with polymer!!!! After all that pain, my nails are completely uneven and it took over an hour and a half of my time! When she was done, she admitted she's very slow and there are faster girls I should have asked for. THIS IS MY FIRST TIME! How would I know who's fast and who isn't? And why aren't you all trained the same way?! Save your money and go elsewhere, not even worth it if you're in a bind. Poor service.I showed the Nail tech a picture of what I wanted which is the picture on the left below. The right picture is what the results came out to be. It looks nothing like the picture or even similar looking. Than I tell the nail tech it looks sloppy and not finished and she says , "I should pay attention to what she's doing. I stated you are the professional and you should know what you're doing, I showed you a picture of exactly what I wanted. I'm the paying customer, you should do your job. All she kept on saying I did it just like the picture, rudely was speaking vietnamese to her co-worker. I stated, No the hell you did not do what i showed you on the picture. Than aother lady try to fix it, she did a crap job too. Never go here, poor service, customer service and poor quality work. Shit hole shop. DO NOT GO HERE. I would give you a negative star if I can. read more

I was in desperate need of a fill in, so I decided to come here before work. I like that this place opens at 9 am for the early birds. I was greeted and seated instantly. The ladies were super nice. I got an acrylic fill in with a no chip gel polish. Mary helped me pick out a color and offered designs. The color section is amazing! Mary was warm and friendly. We were able to chat throughout the service. She shaped my nails correctly and took her time. I was there less than an hour. The price is actual very fair, especially for a downtown Chicago location. I'll definitely will return to get a new set and pedi next! read more

This is an OK place for anyone in urgency. I could leave early on a Monday and my regular salon is closed on Mondays....so I decided to get my eyebrow threading and upper lips done from this place. I badly needed threading. I booked an appointment for threading, however, when I reached at 3:30PM it was totally empty. I saw 1 of their girl sleeping on a pedicure chair. Another was browsing phone on another chair. The guy at the reception was very courteous. He took me to the lady who would do my threading. She took me to an inside small room which looked too messy and not at all presentable. She didnt know English but with some efforts understood my specifications. She gave a fine shape to my eyebrows. But she gave a lot of cuts. She seemed expert but was not. I will not recommend this place until it is very urgent. read more

I walked into this place and asked for a no chip manicure. They sat me immediately and had me pick out a color, which they looked for for 15 minutes than told me they don't have it. She filed my long nails down to stubs, leaving 2 of them their original long length. The job was done very poorly, getting it all over my cuticles and skin. They were bumpy and very thick. Later that same day, they started peeling and lifting. I basically threw $35 down the trash. I will not be going back there. read more

Went to this nail salon once and they were so sweet and did a great job! I go in here from time to time on lunch break for a last minute manicure I usually ask for Mai SHE DOES AMAZING WORK and last week she got tied up with another apt so I went with someone else. It was so bad they didn't hold up a week HOWEVER I called and they told me to come back in, Danny took care of me and did such an amazing job he removed everything and gave me a fresh set, I originally wouldn't have gone back but him doing that was super sweet and something a lot of salons wouldn't do for free. read more

I used to go here all the time pre-Covid. Today I had a pedicure for which I tipped over 20%. The nail tech accidentally stepped on my toes ruining two toes- no problem at all. It was how the problem was resolved. She did not put the base coat back on. I asked her to put a base coat on but she did not react, language barrier. She put on two coats of color and then added a top coat. I tried to stop her from putting on the top coat but again, language barrier. And then she added quick drying spray all within a minute. Way too thick, the polished wrinkled. When I asked them to fix it, they wanted to add more top coat so I walked out. If you make a mistake, no problem but take the appropriate steps to fix it. 40 mins before close, no other clients. read more

I've been to Nail Pro several times, and my experience has always been ok. I just left the salon, and am beyond upset. I went in to get an over lay, but needed the old acrylic soaked off first. Kevin, the nail tech began to pop off the nails in my left hand, and soaked my right. Upon popping off the nail on my ring ringer he ripped open my nail bed, exposing my raw skin. Kevin said he can still put an overlay on it, but I declined. He insisted this is standard and safe. I, however have better sense than that. I don't see how putting chemicals on my raw flesh can be safe. I had to cut all my nails off and left the salon in pain and with terrible looking hands. Needless to say my bi weekly visits will no longer be happening. read more

No wonder this place has a horrible rating. This is the last time I ever come here, I only come when I must because it's very close to my office. But never coming back. These people always do a mediocre job. They can never get ALL of the cuticle, nor paint to the edges. I always come out of here looking like my nails have outgrown the paint after JUST doing them- they can't even paint the edges evenly. I've added a photo and am literally in the salon writing this review. If you want a sloppy manicure then come here. ALSO, I had a broken nail and asked them to put powder to save it until it fully grew out (it was almost there where I wouldn't have needed the powder) and she put it on the entire nail when I asked for it only to be on the cracked area. Horrible service. read more

Will not get powder dip here ever again. read more

Three strikes, Nail Pro. Every time I need to travel for work or have a work related event to attend, I think to myself, I could just pop over to Nail Pro for a simple manicure - they are steps from my office. And every dang time I leave disappointed in the service and final product provided. I don't know why any of the techs bother to ask what shape I want my nails filed in... I always say soft square/squoval, and I constantly get random trapezoids. Some are filed bluntly straight across. Some are straight across but on a random angle. Some of the corners are on 45 degree angles. Yesterday was the last straw. I walked over, mentioned I have a work event, need a manicure, etc. thinking that might encourage a better manicure. I pick out a watered down nail color - I have several bottles of Lincoln Park After Dark, I know it's not *that* translucent. Please stop adding acetone to old bottles of polish! My nails are every shape but what I asked for, the tech gouged into my nail beds while supposedly pushing my cuticles back, my actual cuticles still look in rough shape, I get a shoddy hand massage, then told to pay & tip, I figure there's no way she's going to leave my nails as-is, I tip $5, the tech didn't paint my entire nail bed, or cap my nails with color, or apply top coat over the entire polished area. $20, my time, and the nail growth I was so excited about right out the window. I got back to work, took the polish off, and had to cut all my nails down due to the random 45 degree angles filed into half of my nails. Keep your hard earned cash in your pocket and go somewhere else where it will be appreciated. read more

Holy sweat shop!! They seem to have about 20 nail techs working at any given moment. Walking in I would've swore there was a 30min wait, but nope, I couldn't even pick my polish fast enough. They are a well oiled machine!! The only 'ehh's I have about this place is they don't use that razor thing on the bottoms of your feet (mine need it...damn flip flops) and their tip policy... Maybe it was just my girl, but when i gave my debit card to pay with, she asked me how I was going to tip, and I said on the card, she asked if I could in cash, and I said yes... I believe so, as I was fumbling through my wallet to see if I had enough. Turns out I didn't have enough, and she already ran the card. She got a little snobby when i said I needed to put it on the card, saying they can not cancel the transaction. This until I told her I was going to give $10...oh for that she ran the card again with a smile on her face. I don't see why she had to be so pushy about tipping in cash in the first place. ...and now my nail smudged....perfect :( read more

UPDATE Shortly after posting my awful experience, the new manager of nail pro reached out to me to make things right. He offered me a free eyebrow tint service (which I appreciated bug declined) and a full refund on my brow waxing. Before the incident above, I frequented this establishment as it is very conveniently located near my job for quick stop-ins during lunch. Knowing this, he offered to make sure only the young woman (Nancy) that I usually go to is the one who services me. I went back in to take him up on the offer but Nancy recently gave birth is on maternity leave (congrats!) so I was set up with Mai (sp?) who did a wonderful job and listened carefully to my concern about not taking too much of my eyebrow off. All in all I'm very pleased with the turn around and appreciate management's efforts to make things right. Thanks again! Original Post DO NOT GO HERE TO GET YOUR EYEBROWS DONE. If they're busy they'll have this rough older lady do them and you'll leave the salon with no eyebrows. I'm not kidding. I specifically asked her not to shape or make them thinner, just clean up the excess hair. She did the exact opposite and now I look like a freak. And they don't even look the same. And I can't do anything about it but pray it grows back quicker and cover my forehead with my hair. I'm pissed. Will not ever go here again. read more

went here as a walk-in @ 11:30 on a Wed, and while there was a sign up list, I was taken within 5 minutes. Got a mani/pedi and the technician did a very good and thorough job of prettying up the tootsies. Prices reasonable. A bit hectic, many people cramming the place, but I expect that for a place like this in the loop. I will be going back to get em prettified again :) read more

I just got a pedicure & eyebrow wax done here & they did a decent job. This was my first pedi so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but she was quick & clean & gave a lovely foot massage. The spa chairs were nice on my back too. The eyebrow wax could have been a little better, and I was a tad bit weirded out by the fact that they "double dip" the stick into a communal pot. Then again, it was $10, so i really can't complain much! I went at 2:30 on Friday & had no wait at all, and was out of there in about 20 minutes, so it is definitely good for lunch hour. Edit: after closer inspection when I got home of my feet - they didn't do as well as I thought. Reducing to 2 stars... I could have done as well with a pumice in the tub. read more

Don't waste your time or your money. Read the reviews and take them to heart- they are honest. I got the Living Social voucher as well. I thoroughly read through it when I bought it and it did not say anything about French manicure/pedicure costing more money. I know they usually do- but that should have been stated. ESPECIALLY because the picture on the advertisement for the deal had a picture of a woman giving a FRENCH manicure. That is false advertising. I was a little annoyed that I had to pay $10 more for the french....but then it was done- My nails look so messy- the lines of my french manicure are not sraight. The pedicure was fine- nothing bad to say other than it was so short...definitely the shortest pedicure I have ever had. You can read the reviews- the information is there. Do not waste your money!!!! read more

I went for a nail polish change for $8. My nails looked terrible. I asked the nail tech to fix one of the nails because it was smudging and on my skin. The nail tech next to her grabs my hand and says, "Let me see? There's nothing wrong!" And literally shoves my hand away. I was appalled. I insisted that the nail tech fix it still. I also found it strange how the nail techs pocket the money and give the manager-guy a piece of white paper. It's a bit weird to me. I will definitely never be returning. Stay away and find a better salon. There are many so customer service should be important. read more

I got a no-chip manicure and a pedicure in August. I was about to write a long rant here, but then I read some of the other negative reviews. They've said it all. So I'll just hit the major points: - Everything was rushed and half-assed - They didn't let fingers or toes soak long enough & were rough with sharp utensils -- it HURT! - The guy giving the pedicure accidentally gave me cold water during the pedicure (I didn't say anything, just figuring it was going to warm up, but then he said "whoops" at the end... not intentional) - Crowded with furniture, almost tripped several times ruining my pedicure. - Poor ventilation and there was a woman at least 8 months pregnant working there. I mentioned was going to write a review of the place... they looked really worried and started to apologize for everything (that they knew they had done wrong). I still tipped the technicians well, figured they're probably pressured to work fast. Never going back. Would give it zero stars if I could. read more

I love this place for what it is. It's a no frills place to go where you can get a quality mani/pedi that will last. It's a bit out of my way but I walk there because they take you in no matter what. I've never been turned away. The price is right - $38 for a mani/pedi, great to go to when you need to fit the service in. If you're looking for a spa experience this is not the place. If you're looking for reasonably-priced fast service where they can always accomodate you, go here. They upsell quite a lot (eyebrow threading, no chip, etc) but I forgive them. Everyone's got to make a living. read more

My brows were quickly turning me into a beast, and I had a meeting with the CEO in an hour. Thought: Gotta do something about my hairy forehead... Checked Yelp. Found Nail Pro. I went during my lunch hour the other day, hoping to get just a regular manicure. However, since I had to have my no-chip manicure removed first, they "convinced" me to go for the no-chip. They also offered me free touch-up's within a 2-week period, with the no-chip, so I opted for this even if it is a bit pricier ($35 no chip vs. $15 regular mani). I was impressed and will definitely return! It is a very busy and small to medium-size salon and compared to other salons downtown, I would say there's a reason why they are still in business. All the employees are quite efficient and answer all your questions. Only real con is that for the salon to be efficient, you may get shuffled around to different people, so be prepared for this. And I know it's only been a few days but so far, my no-chip manicure has not chipped at all! read more

These guys are great if you are in a hurry... but that's about it. They're pushy, hard to understand, provide sub-par results, & charge more than most. I mean, over at Blueberry Moon you can get a half hour hand treatment PLUS Shellac polish application for $40. Here, the no-chip mani alone is around the same price. Not even worth it. Plus, if they mess something up, they act like YOU suck when they're fixing their mistake. Their eyebrow waxing, however, is fast, flawless, & about average pricing. read more

Be careful of the "no-chip" manicure bc the way they take off the nail polish/gel is by filing off the color. I was so upset as no one told me this when I came in to get another manicure. And then another thing they don't tell you is they charge $10 to take off the color. There are some nice women and men in there, but after this experience I will never go, esp bc the owner knew I was upset and didn't even try to talk to me. read more

I have to say, I'm kinda surprised by the negative reviews. I have only had great experiences when I've come here. My first visit here was afer I got my first paycheck from an investment firm internship I was working at around the block. Needless to say, at 16, that money was burning a hole in my pocket and needed to be spent. I came in at 5:05PM on a Friday and was IMMEDIATELY seated (and the place was packed!). I honestly don't know what was the point of signing in. I quickly picked my OPI color (extremely extensive collections of OPI, Essie, and other no name polishes + they always have the newest collections) and the girl who did my pedi went to work. After it was done and dried, it looked like I had 5 coats on, but it would not smudge! Awesome! My mani was the same color and done just as well. I cannot possible say enough nice things about them. I even came back one time a week before prom to get acrylics (lame, I know) and I've never gotten a better job. The other places I've been to left me feeling like my nails were fake(obviously, but they felt uncomfortable). This place, I honestly did not feel like they would break if I pushed my keys into the doorknob the wrong way. My nails just felt like they had magically grown. Definitely my to go place, haven't gone elsewhere for years. read more

You know what? I was just back in there today- and they get an extra star, not because anything changed about the quality, price, etc. but because of some of the witches they have to put up with as customers. Then next you can work on mastering the fashion trends from THIS decade. Sweet. read more
