I was in town and wanted to get a mani pedi with my friend and I was so glad that they were able to fit us in the same day I called to make an appointment on a Saturday. When we got to the salon, all the nail techs had a customer at their chair, which means that they get really busy on weekends, so be sure to book ahead! All the nail techs were super nice and accommodating. I wanted to do a nice design and my nail tech warned me ahead of time of the price and asked if I wanted to reconsider and do something similar. I really appreciated that instead of being blind sighted once it's done. My nail tech also was patient and took her time to make sure I liked the design. My friend and I had a nice and enjoyable time. The price is not too bad and we were satisfied with our nails. I would recommend Zenails for anyone who wants a good mani pedi. read more

I do love this place. Great customer service and good work. However, I am pretty upset I got a pedi done and it doesn't look good or wasn't done well. I got home and noticed polish chipped on 2 of my toes, dead skin still at the bottom of my feet and toe. I was pretty disappointed because you want it to be right when you leave. I called and let them know and they of course offered to repolish both toes that were chipped and she also fixed my heel. However, 2 days later, I still notice dry skin on the corner of my toe that could have been taken care of at my pedicure. This has happened to me before and they have taken care of me with my service but when it happens twice it's a little frustrating. I've been a client of Qui's for iapproximately 8 years. His salon is not the closest one to my condo, but his salon is the only one I will go to for my gel manicures. It's not worth it to go anywhere else because other technicians are not as skilled as Qui, his wife Ann, & his staff. Qui (pronounced Wee) did an exceptional job. This is by far the best manicure I've ever had. He was so accommodating, gentle, and super friendly and warm. He speaks English perfectly so I was able to easily communicate with him and he went above and beyond to make sure I loved the shape. I told him I wanted coffin shape deep burgundy full set and he delivered! I wanted a tiny bit of sparkle and he combined two colors to give me exactly what I wanted. He was so nice and sanitary too. He wiped down the entire station and chair after the woman who went before me. There was a plastic partition between us and they socially distanced spaced the technicians. Let me start with the positives because this place did do a good job with my nails. Zenails has fantastic quality polish, their techs are very meticulous and have a unique way of creating colors for different styles. I got a French manicure and they created a lovely base color using 2 different colors. That being said, I'll move to why even after this I'm leaving a 2 star review. Here is my honest review since I did not enjoy the experience here: I visited Zenails on my birthday for a birthday manicure since my friend recommended the place to me. We made an appointment together and arrived roughly on time. (I was 15-20 minutes late due to bus delays in chicago). I explained the reason for my delay over the phone prior to arriving however when I got there I was greeted with a "hurry up and sit down, you're late" which was the first of many off putting things said to me. Then when asked what I would like on my nails, I showed a picture of what I wanted and they said they couldn't do it because it was a design and that it would "take too much time" so the nail tech said she will just do french tips on me with different colors. Which is not what I wanted but "since I was late I had no choice". While painting a French tip on me, the nail tech did the tiniest sliver of paint on my nails. I asked her 3 times to make it bigger/thicker and each time she said she wanted to make it small because my "nails are too short". I repeatedly said that they are short right now but not to worry, they will grow out, and to please make the tip thicker. At this point I was extremely irritated. After feeling like this I finally told her it was my birthday and I'm getting these nails done for my birthday so if she could add a design it would be nice yet still she didn't care because "I was late" and continued to make her own design on me. Then she asked if I wanted to get a pedicure done and I said no but was confused why she would have time to do a pedicure on me but not a design? Due to lack of quality service and feeling frustrated and frankly disrespected throughout the experience, I am leaving a 2 star review. I hope Zenails can do something about this. I was visiting Chicago and had some down time so wanted to find a mani/pedi spot & Yelp led me to Zenails. I made a reservation in advance & I haven't looked back - been here 4+ times now! The work is FANTASTIC. Qui has such an eye for nail color. I wanted a white, but he recommended a blend of 2 shades and it was gorgeous! The gel also stays ON. No chips. It also seems really clean here - individually packaged tools, clean basins, etc. I also like being in the Lincoln Park neighborhood; It has a quaint CHI town feel. First time I visited Zenails in the begging of September for no chip manicure. For my surprise, manicure stayed for the whole month. And still at the end it didn't chip or anything. I just decided to change it a bit. Past weekend, I went to Zenails and decided to challenge them with specific nail design that I saw on the Internet. I really needed to get my dip nails removed and found Zenails. I called on a Sunday around noon to see if they could fit me in same day for just removal. Luckily they said I could come around 3pm. When I arrived they sat me in a seat and started the removal process right away. Total time took less than 30 minutes! Everyone in the salon was super nice and friendly. The salon is on the smaller side and it was full when I arrived so I recommend making an appointment if possible. At the very least call ahead to see if you can walk-in. The color selection is on point and the technicians are more than happy to help find something you like if you, like me, are indecisive. They're byob so bring a bottle to pop/make everyone jump. Qui (owner) and Nancy are our go-to techs but book up super fast so be sure to call ahead (like a week ahead, if you want them). There's also a discount for cash payment. He is meticulous, takes his time, and makes sure you are completely satisfied. Everyone there does an excellent job of making sure you find the right color and even allows you to test the color before they paint all of your nails. I have only had gel manicures there. Acrylics once - and Qui is the only one there who does acrylics. He usually books 3 weeks out - but is totally worth it. Prices are very reasonable and your nails last a long time (3 - 5 weeks). Love! My gel mani and reg pedicure were one of the best I've had in Chicago. They really take time to care for your nails and not just rush through it. Massage was pretty decent length as well.
