My nails look amazing! My friend is a regular here, I've been a few times. I just came here to get my nails done before my wedding and they are great. They are funny, kind and do a great job. One of my nails was broken, but to fix it would have required cutting my nail super super short...before my wedding. It wasn't an issue to them. I get a shellac manicure and it lasts me three weeks! I've stopped biting my nails and my nails have never grown longer. The owner is also really funny and gets to know his customers. He'll even give you a beer if you ask nicely! My tip is to call before and tell them you're coming in. It's a small nail salon so if you just walk in there is usually a wait. I HAVE to give Hi-Way Nails a quick shoutout because they have stepped up my nail game. I used to go to another salon that costs far more and whenever I left the old place, I felt like my nails looked "just ok". Then I would go to Hi-Way and they fixed the botched shape and left me with a better paint job. ALSO, I am an acrylic girl (I know, dip and gel are in right now but I like to have claws and my natural nails just can't do it.) But Hi-Way is one of the few salons in my area that does acrylics still. The guy that does all the acrylics is amazing. He's attentive and will spend as much time as he needs to make sure the shape is exactly how you like, and that the acrylics are filed down to look like really nails (not fake looking at all!) He also does a great job at painting and guaranteeing they don't chip and aren't all over your skin. I'm so happy. They have officially become my go to places. Also, they're nice and like to build relationships with you. Super important and makes me feel comfortable when I'm in. Finally, they are able to do designs and generally any paint job you'd like. I've seen variations of tips and designs. Fun to know I can go in and try something new! Very happy and will definitely recommend this to anyone that asks. read more

They are still a little disorganized but I don't care-- they do simply the best no chip manicures ever, no matter which technician you get, and so reasonably priced. I came in with three busted nails and they took the time to meticulously repair them with silk wraps. You can't even tell they were broken. I like to go on weekday afternoons and usually will call the day before so I don't get stuck waiting. This systems works for me. After being referred to this place, I made an appointment. Walked in 15 min early. Everyone stared at me without greeting me. I smiled, nothing. So... I said "Hi". They asked "what do you want?" No response. ... I start to walk to pick out my nail color and ask "So, should I pick a color...?" Without even looking at me "We don't have time for you. No." A little dumbfounded that he didn't look at me when he spoke to me or didn't apologize. Didn't ask to reschedule me... nothing. So I continued to look at him and said "... I had an appointment..." "We are too busy and don't have time for you." Nothing else said or done. No cares given. No apology or reschedule. No real explanation. No good bye. Nothing. Ignored. Straight up RUDE. Can't even call me? Just waste my time then treat me like that? I'm not asking to be sucked up to or need the most attention. I'm very easy going, I am understanding to an extent, but I did not deserve to be treated with such disrespect for whatever reason. I won't be back and I've told my 2 girls who referred me as well. Their door is locked as only appointments can come in, they take your temperature, have you wash your hands, and of course you have to wear a mask. This place was a little hole-in-wall -- no literally, there was a hole in the wall. And while other nail salons play HGTV and offer you wine, Hi-Way Nails has hockey on the TVs and offered me a beer. Every time he painted a layer, he went back and checked every finger for mistakes. $50 + a punch card and my manicure looks flawless! My only warning: Definitely schedule some time to pamper yourself. I was there from 3-4:30...but I'd rather have someone take the time to make everything look nice than do a rush job. Awful. Went in for a pedicure and came out with one of the worst I've ever had. The manicurist was a young, attractive looking Asian man. Pleasant but distant. I wanted white toenails. I've seen them done on other darker skinned women and was really excited to try it. They told me to pick out my color and I picked an iridescent looking white OPI paint. The man scrunched up his face and asked me why I picked this color. I told him I wanted white, then he changed the color and said this one is better. HUGE MISTAKE! He ended up picking a paint that looks like he painted my nails with whiteout. It looks terrible. Absolutely no sheen or shine. Looks exactly like a 5th grader painted my nails with their left over whiteout. He did not scrape the heels of my feet. He did not buff the ridges out of my toenails. He did not shape my toenails at all. He did not apply a topcoat. He did not cut my toenails. He over extended the paint on some nails past my cuticle. He seemed to be preoccupied with whoever was coming in next through the door. I sat there and didn't complain, I am not a confrontational person. Once he "finished" my toes, he promptly went to do the nails of another client and told me to let them dry for a few minutes. Those few minutes lasted over 30 minutes, before another manicurist came to spray my feet with something or other, then place an oil on the toes along with a plastic bag. She also took the money for the procedure. He barely looked up from his client as I tipped him and walked out. I tipped him $6 but regret giving them any money at all. I was in a rush to pick up my daughter from school and did not have time to complain. Once I came home and my husband saw my feet, he said wow, they look um...different. I told him it was a horrible job and he thoroughly agreed. He begged me to go back the next day so he could complain and make them fix it, but I honestly didn't want to be bothered. They seem incompetent period. I'd rather wait the 2 weeks and spend my money on people that know how to do nails. This place sucks a huge bag of dicks!!! read more

I walked in at 10am on a Friday when the salon opened, and waited for about 20 minutes while the other two clients that arrived before me were taken care of. I asked for a no chip mani and pedi. Nina did a fabulous job, and was meticulous. She was delicate with my nails and cuticles, and painted three coats of polish on my fingernails, not including the top coat! All for $50.00, not including tip. Definitely worth it to go here, and I'll definitely be back! I did not bring drinks, but it's BYOB, they accept cards, and best of all, there's no strong nail polish/acetone odor! What a great find! read more

This is the best value in Lakeview (Maybe even the north side) for a pedicure! I don't have a favorite here, everyone who has touched my feet have done a great job! I am someone who likes to come in for a pedicure and sit in silence for 40 minutes (or however long it takes - Sorry, I'm antisocial) and everyone here respects that and allows me to enjoy my massage chair in peace! They have a great selection of colors and I am usually able to just walk in for a pedicure (There have been a few times they are completely booked - Especially over the summer). And the best part is that it's BYOB. A friend and I came with wine and not only did they allow us to drink, but once we were done, they let us sit their and finish our wine. Yelp didn't fail me with Hi-Way Nails. I needed a last minute no chip mani, so I walked into Hi-Way as soon as they opened at 10 am. A tech called me over after about 10 min and got to work. I've never had a more detail oriented or careful technician! He constantly pulled fuzzies off, corrected polish, reshaped nails and put at least three coats of polish on, if not more. We'll see how the polish holds up over the next few weeks, but I'm definitely inclined to head back for my next manicure. I'm so happy I've found a great nail salon in my neighborhood! read more

BUT when you get the incredible service, kindness / friendliness from technicians, and extremely high quality services, what does that matter? My nails have never looked this good and I am so pleased. The young man took plenty of time on my nails to make them perfect and was offering his opinions on color and nail length when I asked.
