I love a couple folks that do nails. I loved chair 2 and her work was beyond amazing but she no longer works there. I think her name is Rayella. Now I like the work of Nikki. She does good almond. However, I hate a pedicure from this place. Avoid chair 9 at all cost. I've had her twice and she is rough and gives a 10 minute pedicure without taking nail polish off feet and just slop stuff on your feet. It's ridiculous. Rough and careless with a pedicure. Lazy with service, glue on hands after your hands soak in acetone. You have to ask them to help you get it off by actually giving you a wipe to remove it from your hands. I had service one time from chair 1, she left glue on my hands and didn't even ask me if I wanted lotion. Rude. So I wouldn't go to her. I do feel it's a bit fake in there and about the money. Today I came in and wasn't really greeted which makes me feel like hmm what's up with that? I like my nails today and the price is right but I won't go out the way like I've done to get service. read more

Worst pedicure experience ever. From now reading the reviews I guess it depends who you get at this place. My nail tech rushed the whole time, she cut me multiple times and just brushed off the fact that I was bleeding and asked me to put my foot back in the water. The tools were not opened in front of me and were just sitting in a cup on the caddy, I'm sure not sterilized from the person before. The whole time I was telling this girl how to do her job. I'm pregnant and really am trying to care for my feet doing pedis for overall circulation health, and I had to tell this girl to scrub my feet for callus removal. I also asked she glue down the broken corner instead of leaving it hanging. I got no chip and she globbed on so much that the light did not cure it, so it is literally smudged, like what was the purpose of the extra 10$ if it's not dry?! She literally applied the lotion and rubbed it in with no massage, while my husband was having the time of his life getting a good scrub and massage. Such a waste of an hour and 50$ for something I will now spend more money to go fix. I sat in chair 6, this young girl was obnoxious and rough and highly recommend everyone to STEER CLEAR. read more

Another loyal customer walking away after nearly a decade. Don't bother making an appointment. Last time they left me waiting 50 minutes past the time of my appointment because they overbooked. And they never apologize or offer a warning so you can choose to leave and come back. My most recent visits trashed my nails through over-filing and aggressive use of a dremel to remove gel polish. This was even after I pointed out that I have thin nails and asked to have the gel soaked off. My attempts to communicate mid-treatment were met with annoyed blank stares or simply pretending not to hear me. I'm friendly and not at all pushy or rude, so there's no excuse for such terrible communication. I agree with the other reviewer that they will treat you differently based on appearance. It apparently doesn't even matter that I've been easygoing, friendly, and tipping generously for nearly a decade. read more

I got a gel mani with nail art and regular pedi before my birthday. Even though I was going on a Thursday morning, I made an appointment to be safe. I'm glad I did because it got really busy, even at 10:30am on a Thursday. Pedi was good and then I moved to get my mani. They were really busy at this point and I had to wait a bit. It was a bit frustrating that they weren't managing traffic very well and telling all the walk-ins they could help them right away, and people who had made appointments (myself and a few others who came in) were waiting. The first girl who started my nails was talking on her phone and not paying much attention to what she was doing and I eventually flagged another employee down about it (who seemed like a manager of sorts). She moved her and then I waited a bit more. And then finally was put with someone else. The lady who did my nails was great and I loved the finished product. Had a manicure and pedicure done last week. The lady who did both did not say more than 7 words to me the entire time. I told her the shape I wanted and she spent less than 10 seconds "shaping them". After the lady was done, and I'm not exaggerating, she got up without saying a single word and walked to a pedicure chair to sit down in and was on her phone the rest of the time. So, I guess that means I place my hands in front of the fan??? After waiting 20 minutes, I left. After leaving, I went on a walk and saw that THREE of my nails were smudged. I couldn't believe it. Great salon! Everyone is very nice, and they always squeeze you in even when they're busy. The salon is clean, and they are always willing to charge my phone, which was almost dead each time I went. The first time I went in I did dip nail extensions, and they looked beautiful and natural. Dip can be really thick, which I don't particularly like, so I'd never done it before. I said I was willing to try it but wanted to make sure it looked as natural as possible. They seemed a little reluctant to make them as thin as I wanted, warning me they could break, but they still did it. They didn't break at all, and I had them on for 4 weeks! Normally my nails stop growing when I have fake nails on top, like acrylics, but that didn't happen here. The second time I went I removed the dip and got regular no chip, as my nails had grown out. Unfortunately here's where I have to take a star off. They tech was great; she did a good job and was great to talk to, but they've already chipped quite a bit and it has only been a week. I get there had to be 3 layers with the blue I chose, but I've had 3 layers before and it was fine. I did a chrome accent nail but that chipped in a day; not sure why. However, I enjoyed my experience each time and would go back, though I'd likely only ask for 2 layers max with no chip. read more

They were cracked and split from working and I was hesitant going to a nail salon. Son took his time and was very gentle knowing how sensitive my nails were. Today I went right when they opened and I got the trendy "chrome" nails. I loved them. The service was also impeccable. Came here for a pedicure and dip + tips. Had a fantastic experience! The pedicure was pretty standard, nothing over the top just exactly what you would expect. But I was particularly impressed with my nail extensions and the dip powder. I always worry about the nails being too thick or looking unnatural but they came out perfect. They accept card and have the availability to Zelle or Venmo to add tip so you don't have to bring cash. prices are reasonable for the city a gel pedicure is usually $55ish and acrylic gel full set is $60. read more

I really considered not writing this review, but I'm doing this for anyone that may have health issues that plan on visiting this establishment. I have never felt more uncomfortable in any business than I did when walking into Lumera. This was my first visit here, and after this experience, I'll never step foot in here again. For starters, they have zero hand washing procedures upon arrival. I've gotten my nails done multiple times since covid, and each salon I've been to you have to wash your hands before you even sit down, and they give you a waiver to sign before starting anything. Lumera did neither of this.. I thought it was strange, but I try to brush it off. As the appointment goes on a woman employee is sitting with one empty seat between me and her (probably a 3 or 4 foot distance), she has no mask on, no mask in sight. She is speaking to me about the prices with a smile, but I am still extremely uncomfortable she is not wearing a mask while communicating so closely with me for quite some time. My nail technician was wearing a mask, so I decided to let that one slide and try to finish up. About 20 minutes later, another employee brings a client to the seat, DIRECTLY next to me. Our elbows are touching.. and every other seat in the salon is completely open. No social distancing measures whatsoever. At this point I'm pretty uncomfortable. A few moments later, a different woman employee comes out and is sitting around laughing and talking very close to us also without a mask on. Two minutes later I hear the salon door open and another man who works there comes in with no mask in sight either. There are now 3 out of the 5 employees there with NO mask on. The first woman has now moved from her original chair that was one away from me, and is sitting in the pedicure chair, still no mask on, took her both her SHOES AND SOCKS off and now has her bare feet on the pedicure chair (not in the bowl), with no protective covering and still no mask in sight. At this point I am appalled and I look at my nail technician and finally ask "....So does no one wear masks here??". She LAUGHS about it and says nothing, continuing to work on the nails. I tell her that I live by someone who is very sick and that I feel uncomfortable. At this point I'm actually starting to shake and my heart is beating so fast. The girl next to me getting her nails done (who I am still elbow to elbow with in a nearly empty salon) chimes in and turns around and loudly agrees with me saying "Yeah... can you guys PLEASE put your masks on?!". The man/owner who entered last is looking at both of us and is smirking and laughing at this point. My manicurist is apologizing but at this point I am feeling so sick to my stomach with everything I was witnessing. I told her I wanted to leave immediately and walked out of there. TLDR? A COVID nightmare: No masks required for employees, no sanitation procedures of the tables, no hand washing procedures, and employees can apparently spread out and prop their bare feet on pedicure chairs used for customers. I'll never be back here and I really hope something is done before this salon starts seriously infecting hundreds of people. Beware. read more

Most of the time I rock my natural nails with regular polish and an occasional no chip bc I have naturally long, strong, healthy nails...so I'm selective about where I go and what I get done.
