The reason I'm giving it 3 stars (really 2 & 1/2) is because the colors are not that great or varied, the girls who work there are always just super unhappy, and they don't do a great job. I get gel builder and no chip mani/pedis and they honestly do the bare minimum and do so unhappily. Meanwhile, I drop $125 + for my nails. I'd love to find another place I like better. read more

This place is so strange. The girls barley talk to you only barley say hello when you walk in, its dead silent even though they have a tv playing. The girl who did my nails last week was watching tv on her phone the whole time and would pause doing my nails to switch her show. My nails came out blotchy and not even or smooth. She also didnt do the small pointed file at the end to ground down the nail extension in the area right above ur cuticle so they look like shit tbh. I had been going to Nas for about 2-3 years and loved Giza and a couple of others. The space was, and still is, clean and new. It is really important to me to have a clean space and cleanliness with all the stories you hear of infections, etc. I recently was pretty disappointed in my pedicure here as it was completely rushed and chipped a day later. I also think their marketing is a bit off. They offered a 10% discount M-F until 4pm, but never took it off their marketing. It is overpriced now compared to local places. I feel like they care more about changing their name and branding than their loyal customers and quality. read more

I went here over the weekend to get a mani/pedi. It was my first time getting my nails painted, so I'm not an expert at how they're supposed to look. Maybe there was just something wrong with the polish, but it's been two days and I'm not loving the results. Some of the little dents on the center of the nails are probably chips from me being new to having polish on, but the edge cracks and bubbles/unevenness were definitely there right after the service. The service seemed good to me in the spa -- happy with my pedi and tipped $20 on $81 because the tech worked a while on me. But I will say that it was strange to sit in front of someone for like 2 hours and 15 minutes and barely speak at all with them. I guess I just thought there would be some chit chat or something, but again that could just be I don't know how nail salons work haha. The owner seemed very nice and on top of things and I loved that I could text and get in for a long appointment same day. Everyone was pleasant, the place was spotless, and again it felt like the services were great during. I probably should have checked the polish more thoroughly before leaving, but I had somewhere to be and didn't really look closely until later. Take a look at the pics -- again, could just be it's my first time and maybe guys' nails are harder because they're short? Also the cuticle/skin around my nails is bad because I just don't take care of them (which is why I'm starting regular Manis now) -- they looked much better right after service. read more

I've came here about 3/4 times and it gradually got worse. It felt as if she didn't care about what she was doing always asking another girl how to do something. Last set I had I asked for pearls and she couldn't apply them. This time she applied my nails crooked after I told her they were crooked she said she'll fix when she files them but you can't fix a crooked nail by filing I asked her to remove the nail and replace and she ignored me. She took 2 and a 1/2 hours for a soak off and gel x application with a single color. Which is not what I wanted but watching her struggle I couldn't ask her to do what I wanted I just went with single color. I also asked for her to file my nails straight and she constantly rounded my nails after asking her not to. On top of that I managed with the ridiculous high prices because I expected quality the first time okay. Second I asked for pearls okay. Third time $75 for crooked nails is ridiculous read more

The new management has ruined this place! I'd been going to Nas Salon and Spa for 8 years, and now it it's Nail Ography. Nas was fun, relaxing, and their team felt more like a family than the regime you see now. The first few times I visited under new management, I didn't notice much of a difference. Then their prices started rising and now it's just insane. You get charged for everything little thing, like $5 for "fixing" a nail which is simply one coat of sealant. I was there yesterday and the tech I'd been to multiple times was now rushing through my service to a point that she was dropping things, poked me multiple times with a tool (never happened at Nas), and was clearly stressed out. This, in turn, stressed me out and, of course, left me with less than impressive nails. I asked her if she was now being timed and she nervously nodded yes. I wish Ohn would buy the place back. I got my no chip removed and my fingers were BURNING FOR DAYS afterward. Then my nails started falling off where the skin is, so I had to put bandages on my fingers because I was petrified of how painful it was when my nails broke off, it also ripped skin and caused bleeding. My nails would break in the middle of the nail and there would be exposed skin. While getting my nails done, I told the girl she burned me with the drill and she just didn't care. After about 2 weeks of dealing with this I was so inconvenienced at the paid my hands were feeling, I called and spoke to the manager and told her that my nails were falling off only after a couple days and my fingers were burning. She asked me the name of the ladie who did my nails as iif the employees 1. wear name tags( they dont) 2. are friendly enough to tell you their names( they aren't ). I obviously did not know their names because they dont even say hi to you when you first greet each other. She chucked it off as nothing because I could not tell her the names of the 2 ladies who did my nails. But one of the ladies looked pregnant, not sure. She told me next time I come there they won't drill my polish off as the solution. No apology for anything. No empathy for the fact that I told her It caused me physical pain during and weeks after. I told her that my nails did not last a week before they started breaking off. I asked her for a percentage off my next manicure. She told me she would look into it and call me back because the store was busy. Before she hung up, I tried to ask her her name but but she pretended to not hear and hung up. I called back and the phone line was busy immediately afterward. I live close by, so I walked by and they barely had anybody inside the shop. I feel salty because I was overtipping the ladies every time I went and I had deemed this place my new nail salon, meanwhile the ladies who work there are robots. They dont care about you, they just want your money! I have realized that nail salon culture has started to irk me. You spend almost $100 for a service just for the nail tech to treat you like shit, burn you and cause your nails to painfully fall off. I noticed that I have only ever had this experience with Asian-owned salons, unfortunately. The nail techs are usually very cutthroat and cold as these type of salons. I dont put my money into businesses like that anymore who show no respect or appreciation. read more

Having just returned from NAS, I can say I am underwhelmed. The place is clean and nicely appointed, which is a plus. However, I had scheduled a gel manicure ONLY. When I arrived and stated that I was only there for a manicure, she filled the Pedi bowl and told me to sit down. I then redirected her to the manicure station. She pointed to the wall of nail polishes, the technician gave no direction as to which were GEL colors and which were standard. This is only my 2nd time requesting GEL, so I am unfamiliar with the protocols/products to be utilized. Picked my color, sat down for my manicure, and only at the end did she tell me that I received a standard manicure, not a GEL as requested. When I mentioned this, she walked off without remark. Very uncomfortable experience, in which I will have to go to another salon next week for a GEL polish experience. I had dip nails done here about 2 weeks ago. The nail salon itself was nice, as were each of the staff members! However, I was really disappointed when three of my nails popped off after only a week of getting them done. When returning to the business to have them fixed, I was charged because I came in over a week later. I personally found this ridiculous considering dip nails usually last 3-4 weeks long, yet I was charged because I didn't come in "immediately after" my nails were damaged. I explained to the nail artist that I wasn't able to come in sooner because I was on vacation, but she didn't seem interested in hearing me out. I of course paid the business for fixing my nails and decided I would give them another shot in the future. Sadly, right before I decided to write this review, another nail popped off. I clarified with her that she added up my services correctly because the price was higher than previous times I've been (6year regular customer). I checked the website after I left and she had in fact overcharged me. When I asked if they had raised prices she looked at me confused. They also had a new Zelle code and when I asked she said the old one had a problem. I figured out they were under new management from googling - I thought it was odd she didn't just tell me that. This is my favorite nail salon in Lakeview. Whenever I need to get my nails done for a special occasion, they are my go to! Right in the heart of Wrigleyville, this beautiful haven is a girl's getaway. You're welcomed by whatever aroma is pumped into that room. Maybe its what they use for their lotion or pedicure water, or maybe its in vents. I don't know. But I'm instantly calm when I walk in. The hostess greets you and guides you to your seat. I always go for a classic pedicure and no-chip manicure. Pedicure first. After picking my pedicure color, the hostess seats me, and hands me the card for the no-chip colors. They also offer ice tea, water, or hot tea as beverages. I highly recommend the raspberry iced tea. The chairs are super comfortable and you can control your massage level. I prefer not to use the massage features as I'm highly ticklish. Next is manicures. The staff will walk you to the station, and bring your stuff to you so you're not trying to do so many things while walking with wet toenails. When I get my nails done, I like to get a little flare. Something I can't do myself. Tell them, and the staff will accommodate for you! They are amazing! I've had gold tips, roses, and daisies drawn. I went into Nas today for a manicure and pedicure. I'm not sure exactly what was going on with the women doing my nails. She was coughing a lot and seemed Ill... ( And during covid I feel that if an employee is feeling sick they should go home as to not get the clients and other employees that are working sick!) But she left twice into the back for awhile and as far as I could tell she was arguing with other staff. Anyway I was SUPER uncomfortable I left before she started painting my toes.
