Went to Happy Nails for a nail fix and manicure, mind you nooo appointment made. I asked what do they typically do for a nail fix and was told either dip or gel but dip is stronger so that's what I went with. Navy took care of me and did a wonderful job! For whatever reason the top coat wasn't drying fast enough use have begun to dry funny no idea but whatever Navy saw she fixed it on the spot! Because I was basically a squeeze-in she was with a client so June helped out, asked if I minded my last nail fix to be no chip otherwise the other will take forever. I'm so happy she asked and didn't assume, naturally I went with the no chip. Anyway, this is my first time at Happy Nails and I promise I'll return...with an appointment scheduled!! I called for a no chip removal and normal manicure. They told me to come at 4pm. I arrived on time and was told to wash my hands and take a seat. I then proceeded to sit and wait for 15 minutes without being spoken to again. I do not recommend this salon. read more

Mary M did such an amazing job on my no chip manicure. She was also so sweet. However, it wasn't busy in there and the other techs/manager were not very welcoming or kind. I walked in for my first time there, to which one of them said rudely and cold "who are you here for?" I said I called ahead for a manicure. To which she yells "Mary" and then Mary told me where I should sit and where the colors are to pick one. When I left none of the other techs said thank you or to have a great day. Beware and I suggest you don't get Kim. As I sat down and dipped my feet I had to use the bathroom. I apologized to her but hey if you gotta go you gotta go! I had wet feet and she told me to just go and I had to ask for slippers so I can walk to the bathroom! She was expecting me to walk barefoot in the bathroom. I had only a good 10-15min pedicure! No lotion no massaging. She didn't scrub well, polish was really bad. I still had my old polish on the side of my nails and had to point it to her. The worst part.....she made me bleed and all she said "it's ok". No it's NOT ok! She was talking in her language not knowing that I understand what she was telling her coworker. On top of that she lied and was trying to put the blame on me which I don't get it because I'm not the tech here. She is the "professional" so she should know what she is doing. She was trying to say that my toes had "too much skin" and that I wanted square (which was a lie because I never said anything about that) and my nails was too short and it was all skin bulging out. My toes are perfectly fine and I don't even know why she would say anything like that. It doesn't even matter how much skin a person have she would know not to cut more than the nail bed. She put neosporin and she said it's ok and I'm like no it's not ok...I'm bleeding and was in pain. I had the boss come and see it. The toe was smeared and she said to the boss after I complained that I touched it and messed it up that she didnt polish it like that. First off it got smeared on the slippers. At the end they asked me if I can pay half to cover the supplies which was $12 which I declined and offered another amount. I shouldn't of paid anything at all and since the boss lady was really nice and handled it well (Judy/Julie?) I didn't mind to pay $10 since I know it wasn't her fault. I've come here for a year and usually do not have an issue and like my manicures. In the past, each time I get a manicure they fully cut my cuticles, use lotion, etc. But, the past two manicures have just not been up to par. I also brought my sister in who said her no chip mani began chipping within a few days. If I'm paying about $45 for a dip mani I'd assume they'd at least push back my cuticles and make the polish even? I was just disappointed with the service here for the price. My nails ended up looking uneven and with the dip not even to the bottom of my nail. Not even lotion was used after getting the previous dip soaked off. My hands were dry and cuticles looked awful when leaving. After a week, the dip is already chipping as well where other salons I have had it last three weeks. Always make an appointment. Unless you're already next door, call to make sure that they have an opening- especially on the weekend! I've seen so many people walk in who don't have an appointment, only to walk out a minute later because Happy Nails is booked. Thank goodness Happy Nails is in the same parking lot as a strip mall with free parking. It saves you money and hassle from having to find street parking in the city. I've been to Happy Nails several times over the years and each time I visit, the place is clean and busy. I love that they decorate for holidays. My favorite was for a Christmas a couple years ago, they even gave little green tea lotions to customers. My mom is very picky and comes here religiously. Her favorite nail technician is Mary. I forgot the name of the technician that did my nails, so I called to ask and June said it was most likely Amy or Rebecca. Sorry that I don't remember exactly, but you should be safe with either of these people since other yelpers have complimented them as well. My nail tech did a great job painting the whole nail. It's my pet peeve when the side of the nail is not fully painted. I also wanted a design last minute and she was very flexible. I was going to just get a design on my thumbs, which was $5, but my sister convinced me to get it all my fingers for five more dollars. Make sure to get a punch card to get rewards. If you forget your old one, they will give you another and can combine your cards later. Bring cash to tip or pay in all cash and get an extra punch! I'm writing this review 7 days after my visit and my regular manicure is still in great condition without any chips. Same goes for my pedicure, but we all know that pedicures last longer. I started coming here in August when I switched from gel acrylic to gel x-extensions/aka jelly tips. They're great here! Each technician is so nice and will do exactly what you want or closest to what you want. They will also clarify with you on what they're able to do and they're 100% transparent about it. I had June do my first set which was a neutral color with a design and she did excellent. I just had Becca do plain red and they came out exactly how I wanted. If there's an error meaning sometimes the top cost doesn't dry well or if there's an air bubble, they'll fix it at no cost if it's within a few days of going. This has happened to me but they were understanding about it and it's not an error on their end, sometimes just the polish doesn't dry right. I recently recommended my friend who always gets acrylics to start getting jelly tips here so she went today and I'm excited for the outcome! I've been to Happy Nails quite a few times and have generally had a good experience. However, I got powder dip on my nails a little over a week ago, and it started to chip within 6 days. I purposely get dip because it should not chip, meaning I can go longer in between visits. I got one nail fixed within a week with no issue. The next few days, most of my nails started to crack and a couple chipped. I called to schedule an appointment to get my nails re-done. The person on the phone said the best they could do is offer me a free soak off, which is worth $5. I did not expect a free service but was hoping to get a better deal than that for having to go back in less than a week and a half. I went in to get them fixed because they looked awful overall and they said it would take too much time to fix them (they were not busy) and it's "wear and tear" basically telling me it's my fault for what happened to my nails. Came in for a nail repair as I am a regular elsewhere. I needed something close since I was leaving for a trip. It was efficient and reasonable for what she charged me. It was my natural nail with a dip repair. She didn't redo the dip however I had a simple design that she was able to replicate. The only thing was the finish wasn't as smooth as the regular dip. Clean salon, efficient. I would only have hesitation to get it as a back up because there is a soak off charge even if you're getting dip to dip service. Understandable if you are doing something else like dip to gel or full set but first I've seen for getting the same service refresh. read more

I was supposed to go to my regular guy Henry but I guess he's gone and not coming back ( HERE COMES A BUNCH OF NEW FACES THAT WERE NEVER THERE) Of course my appointment was for Henry and they conviently forgot hes no longer an employee. ANYWAY, my pedi was done by some new guy that I could tell never polished a toe to save his life and my fill was done with a good coffin shape but the polish job is horrible.
