Due to COVID, it had been a while since I had gotten my brows done by the threading technique. So I went around for a while not doing anything and then found a place to go to that used wax. I am not a big fan of waxing, but in COVID times, I was not comfortable getting threaded since it was before the vaccine. Now fully loaded against COVID (booster included as well as masks), I was looking for a place that did threading. And what a discovery I found. This place was clean, cute and on the way home. When done right, threading can be relatively painless and very accurate in the shaping. The owner was lovely, quick and masked. And did I forget to mention quick? Very quick and she did a great job. If there is a negative, it is the location and parking. While I did find a great parking spot in front of the shop, that most likely will not happen again. There is street parking, but since this is down from The Music Box and some great restaurants (Tango Sur), there is competition for spots. That said, it will not stop me from returning to get my brows done. read more

I have to say I really love the work these ladies do. They're detailed, will talk you through the process, and are happy to answer any questions you have. Unfortunately, there is a complete lack of social awareness on their part. The younger sister is constantly on the phone talking LOUDLY while doing services. Sometimes she even has the phone on speaker and the volume turned all the way up, with zero concern for everyone else in the salon. One time I kept hearing this odd sound and when I asked about it, the older one told me it was her brother's baby and that they just left the phone on speaker so they could listed to it. What? This is supposed to be your business, you're not at home! They will also talk to each other the entire time they're doing your service. Maybe focus a bit more on your customers and make them a priority instead of your conversation. All in all, the finished product is great, but it is NOT a relaxing experience. I wish there was a higher level of professional etiquette applied when customers are in the salon. At least I'd be able to refer people to them. Just play some music over the speakers and have your conversations later. read more

I am so happy I found this place on yelp!! I highly recommend it. I have trying to find a regular eye brow spot. I have been bouncing around to different places in Lakeview for my brows. I sent the business a message this morning to ask a question and Parul responded within minutes. It was great! She is so nice! I went in this afternoon and there were a couple people in front of me, however I didn't have to wait too long. I went in wanting an eye brow wax, but ended up deciding to get eye brow threading and eye brow tint ($20). Make sure to look at the combo deals! The prices are so affordable and the quality of services is excellent. The salon is very clean and there's lots of room for waiting. I can't wait to become a regular. I used to like this place because it was convenient and usually pretty fast/efficient. But recently, I went in to get threaded and the technician got the thread stuck in my brand new ear piercing, which then got violently ripped and was incredibly painful. She shrugged it off like it was nothing, but the piercing was continuously bleeding for a few days and now has a permanent scar left from the damage inflicted. When I tipped her in cash, she didn't ask if I needed change and kept the entire bill which amounted to a 28% tip for a service I was pretty unhappy with. I was so ready to get out of there that I didn't correct it or ask for change -- which I should have. I was really looking forward to supporting a small women of color operated business, but between the poor safety measures and complete lack of care when a customer was in pretty severe pain, I'll go somewhere else instead. read more

I wanted the owner to do my brows, but another employee did them and she was amazing. I am extremely picky when it comes to my brows (check my scathing review of another place that messed them up) and was pleasantly surprised that she was OK with me explaining exactly what I wanted before she started. I went in today around 10:15 and there was no one there besides me so I was helped immediately. I saw that this place had great reviews so I wanted to give it a try. I also saw a post from someone who had gotten their brows tinted and I really wanted to try that as well ($20 for brow clean up and tint). So the woman who greeted me was extremely nice, she explained that if I wanted to try the brow tint then I most certainly could because she agreed that my eyebrows could look a little more full. Once she was done with them I was a little nervous because some of the dye had stained my skin and my brows did not look like how I envisioned. I'm so glad I found this place! Hands down the least painful threading service I've ever had. I can't feel hardly anything and that's a great thing! I walk in here and there is usually no wait. I get my eyebrows threaded and it takes no time. I really like the shape of my eyebrows once they are threaded here. I feel like they look perfect when I leave. Like the other reviewers said, I experience no redness, puffiness, or irritation after I'm done. I also appreciate that I'm asked if I want anything on my face after threading (toner or whatever they use). I opt not to use anything after, since my skin is so sensitive. ***Make sure you remove your make up before you get eyebrow threading services here. This was my first time coming here, I saw positive reviews on Yelp and decided to stop by. I did not have an appointment and I was able to get service after waiting for about 15 mins. Since I was coming from work I had a full face of make up on. The woman was very nice and polite, but the service is not something I would recommend. The thread broke at least 7 times during the service. I don't know if she was using cheap thread that was too thin, but I had never seen that happen before. I felt barely any pain so I wasn't sure how much hair she was actually removing. When she was done I asked if I could remove the make up to see how my eyebrows looked like. After I removed the make up they looked pretty bad and they had no shape. I asked if she could give them more definition because they didn't look right. She seemed confused and said that she had just removed the hair outside of the make up. I told her that I applied the make up when the eyebrows were not done, so obviously they did not look great. I asked again if she could give it shape and make them look defined. She said she would make them "sharp." The eyebrows look so bad. One is thinner and higher than the other. There are some random hairs that are longer and stick out. I am literally in tears in my car at the moment. They are so ugly. As I mentioned before she was very nice person and I did not want to fight with her or anything, so I just told her it was okay and paid. I did not want her touching them anymore since I didn't feel confident she could fix it. I understand it was probably my fault for not removing my make up before coming here, but she never asked to remove it either so I thought it was okay. I love this place! First I love the area. I work in the city but live in Oak Park. One day I decided to go after work and googled best threading nearby and even though the drive was a little less than 30 min I was willing to try this place out! I AM SO GLAD I DID!
