She was friendly, personable and made me feel comfortable. She took the time to explain to me a few options that I had and was very comfortable with helping me decide what service I needed based on what I was looking for. She took the time to map out my face and show me several options The shop was very clean and sterile - I only say sterile because Jazmin took all supplies out of new packaging and all tools and equipment was wrapped to avoid cross contamination. I have had lash extensions on and off as well as good and bad lash lifts in my time since moving to Chicago. My most recent experience with a lash lift was really positive but I am planning on going on a trip soon where I do not want to have to worry about putting on any makeup. With that in mind, I decided to try this spot out for some lash extensions with the idea that if I liked them, I would get a fill in a couple weeks prior to my trip. I decided to go here based on all the positive reviews. When I first arrived, I was super nauseated from my Uber ride and the woman that answered the door was very friendly, got me a chair out of the direct sunlight (overheated) and got me some cold water. It was such a friendly and welcoming way to enter my appointment after such a rough Uber ride. Jazmin was so lovely and friendly, making me feel comfortable and listening to what I said I wanted done to my lashes. She had just gotten her own done and I loved how they looked and kind of also showed her a few pictures of what I was looking for to get this kind of layered, wispy look that I was going for. The session was really relaxing and she was so patient, even when for some reason I kept having to cough throughout the appointment. She did not get frustrated or rush through anything and I absolutely loved the results. I had been wanting to get my eyebrows microbladed for some time and finally decided to bite the bullet. I did some research on who I wanted to trust with my brows and finally settled on Moxie based on all of the great reviews. I'm really happy I did. I made my appointment with Jazmine and she was awesome to work with. She made sure to educate me on all the do's and don't's on aftercare and I felt super confident that my brows would turn out great based on her knowledge of the craft. She was easy to talk to and friendly too, which made my experience all the more enjoyable. As for my brows, I absolutely love them. So worth it. I had sparse, spotty, uneven brows before and now I wake up with full, natural looking, EVEN brows and I feel beautiful right when I wake up. Now, if I want to fill them in (I like bold brows when dolling myself up) the process is so much faster and with a few swipes of my brow gel I'm done! Also--healing process was easy. I made an appointment online for a touchup. Shortly there after I received a text message that I would need to call and speak with someone to confirm my appointment I placed two calls, no one answered, and left a voicemail asking for someone to call me back. No one returned my call. My appointment was never confirmed. Three hours before my scheduled appointment, I received a phone call from the salon, but was unavailable. Since no one confirmed my appointment, I assumed it was not booked. You cannot confirm an appointment just hours before the desired time. I was unable to make my appointment and the credit card on file was charged by the salon for the full amount without providing the service and without ever confirming the appointment with me. I went to this salon as an "eyelash extensions virgin." I was a bit nervous, but mostly because I didn't want to lay around for an hour and 1/2, haha. The salon is really cute and decorated well. The lash technician was really great- not too chatty, but also not silent and awkward :) She asked if I had any questions and we chatted through a few of my concerns. About halfway through, my eye started to burn a little and my right eye was watering A LOT throughout the process. I told the technician about the discomfort and she fixed the eye patch a little and it helped. However, it was still kind of irritating but I figured it was just part of the process. The end result was amazing!! I loved how natural they looked and immediately put my pic on Instagram!! Haha. Howeeeever, I woke up the next morning with crusty, bloodshot eyes, and extremely tender. I was so confused because there was no redness at the top of my lash line, so it wasn't an allergic reaction. I started to panic. But I googled a bit and apparently it has to do with the eye pad being placed too close to your bottom lash line to the point that your eye is slightly open, and the strong adhesive glue fumes aggravate your eyes. Anyway, I didn't want to give the salon a bad rating for this, but I did want to inform anyone who goes to make sure and tell the technician if there is any irritation at all and make sure the eye pad is fixed where it is comfortable. read more

Lucy and Kristen are amazing! If any salon is committed to customer service and ensuring their client is happy, it's Moxie Allure! I was a model for a student training on microblading and realized when I got home that one was shorter and higher than the other (of course we are our own greatest critic and tend to see things that others don't). I'd seen her work prior to agreeing to getting it done and thought she did a great job! So it may have just been a one off with me. The next day Lucy (not the original person that did my microblading) stayed later to be able to accommodate my schedule AND Kristen came in despite not having to, a day before her due date for her baby boy. If that's not commitment to client satisfaction, I don't know what is! They were able to remedy the situation and I left feeling better than I did the day before about my brows. As far as other services, LASHES BY LUCY! She is amazing! She's very knowledgeable on product and the process as she is someone who loves lashes herself. And lastly affordable! I got so many compliments on my lashes! My full set of lashes lasted a little over 2 weeks. They probably could've gone another week, but I wanted to get them off because they were bothering me (I've only had fake lashes one other time prior to this for a wedding, but it was only for one night). I've gotten a lash lift done as well, it's been almost four weeks and it's still holding up strong! I got my eyebrows micro bladed by Jazmine 2 years ago for the first time. She was very nice fit me in last minute for my brows and the first touch up but then went MIA after that for following touch ups. Which was frustrating because the first time she did my brows she never measured anything nothing extensive some brief measuring mostly eyeballing and because I was "wearing a mask" the lining up to the nose was wrong and one brow was closer to the nose than the other brow and I didn't realize until I was leaving and she fixed it but then for my touch up the bottom line was off and when I brought it to her attention she said that it was because I needed my brows lined up when really the blading lines were not in line with each other on one brow like they were on the other one. But she's the professional. So I just went with what she said. Every time I got my eyebrows threaded they would tell me that I needed to get my microblading touched up because the bottom line was off. So I asked Jazmine if she could fit me in for another touch up when I was in town and she said she thought she could but she would let me know. And instead she was MIA and told me two days after I already flew back to where I was working that she couldn't do it. I felt like she didn't want me as a client and stopped reaching out. I ultimately had to go somewhere else where they would be willing to go over her work to fix the mistakes and MEASURE and draw lines to make sure everything was even and they had to draw my right brow in more to match the left so now I have to forever get it this way and get brown laminations so the hairs go up and it looks even. I took a class in April for microblading and it was the worst class ever. DO NOT WASTE 3000 on this class. She was very unprofessional, over 30 min late to class and didn't even teach everything that was in the "course outline". We never practiced mapping and I didn't even get my kit till a week after class. I got my eyebrows done here by Sabina and am in love with the results. I purchased the microblading through Groupon and have not seen much fading in about 6 months (and a summer filled with too much sun). It is so much easier for me to go without make-up and I could not shape my eyebrows as well no matter how much I tried. I had my first microblading session about a year and a half ago at a different place and it was okay. I needed a touch up and was hesitant since the last time was not what I expected. However, I am very pleased with the outcome I received at Moxies! Kristen did an amazing job! The healing process was not as bad as the first one. Fully healed right after my first week. Barely scabbed and nothing fell off! I can clearly see the difference. And the difference really is the technician. I have been meaning to write this review since I got microblading done this past Spring. If you have sparse eyebrows from over plucking in the past that you literally have to fill in every single day, sometimes twice a day because the pencil/powder/gel/whatever you're using wears off then you NEED to get microblading done. I wish had done it years ago. Not only do I now have perfect, full eyebrows when I wake up in the morning, but they are a much better shape than when I filled them in on my own. Kristen did my brows and they are amazing. The shade and shape are so natural and absolutely perfect for my face, I seriously love them. She went over the entire process and made me feel very comfortable with the procedure and then let me know exactly what to expect afterwards. It was worth every ounce of pain, which really wasn't that bad and was over relatively quickly. It sounds silly, but not having to fill in my eyebrows every day has been kind of life changing. read more

I had my brows done a few years ago and what I thought I needed was a touch up. Joke on me! This time I had Jazmine. Jazmine gave me a mini consultation and stated its best I redid them as I had no ink/Microblading which was true as I never went back to touch up as my experience before was "painful". So here I go with Ms Jazzybrows trusting her and letting her take charge. I felt nothing. Healing was amazing and this touch up was flawless. Do not use Groupon for microblading! You will be assigned a subpar technician like I did. The tech drew the ugliest eyebrows I have ever seen on my face and I quickly told her that I didn't approve! It took like 20 minutes or more for me to explain the type of arch I wanted and I even showed her pictures! She still didn't get it. I had to fill in my eyebrows myself to show her what I was looking for. The techs name was Sabina. She actually shaved half of my eyebrow and filled it in with the ink which I wasn't aware until I got home! My left eyebrow has a weird, unnatural arch thanks to her hyper exaggerated drawing. The annoying thing is I STILL have to fill in my eyebrows because it was not a good job! Waste of money people. read more
