My experience from the beginning to end was excellent. Lisa went through every detail, what she was doing and why. I was sent home an after care package that covered FAQ'S, home care, cleanser, etc. Initially, I was nervous about the color because I have black hair and how was this going to match up with my skin tone without making me look crazy. Before microblading, I hated to create my brows from scratch on a daily basis; hoping that I filled them in properly (i.e., not too dark, big or uneven) and when I did get them right, I cringed at the thought of having to wash them off @ night only to have to try again the next day! Keeping this short and sweet (I think the photos speak for themselves), I am thrilled with my microblading experience at The Beauty Crew. Lisa was professional, warm, knowledgeable and skilled with that little scalpel. She chose the perfect color and shape for my new brows. Afters years of being embarrassed about my eyebrow colic, I had finally decided on microblading. While The Beauty Crew wasn't the cheapest option, the reviews and Lisa's professional education sold me! Who wants a bargain bin place working on their face? Yikes!! The cost includes a touch-up session and the whole process takes about three months to complete (about a month to fully heal between each session). A few quick tips I learned along the way: the color is way darker the first few days of healing (I felt like a muppet), so plan your social life ahead. The Beauty Crew started out in a smaller space on Irving Park Road about 5 years ago. Through reviews and hunch I decided to get my wedding day makeup done there. One of the best decisions I made for a huge day in my life! From the start Lisa was friendly, professional, and really listened to what I envisioned. With a big family wedding coming up I confidently made an appointment to have "special occasion" makeup done as a treat from my husband. Being a working and stay at home parent for 3 years I was looking forward to some "me" time. For our high school reunion the ladies and I went to the Beauty Crew to get us EXTRA FINE!!! Mylene gave each one of us the ROYAL treatment. Annette wanted retro glam. I allowed her to do as she pleased and Yasshira wanted her usually straight hair curled. The ambiance was so dainty. We were able to relax in this adorable boutique feeling salon while being pampered. We even went to get champagne and toast while we were pampered. After receiving 5 star treatment we went to dance the night away. Both Annette and Yasshira's hair stayed curled the entire night. They both looked as bouncy and fresh after a night of dancing as they did when they left the shop. My makeup did not move. I was sure my face would melt but it was perfect. Late post - I went a few months ago and got consultation for eyebrow microblading and / or shading. She did the whole mock up drawing lines, equal spacing etc. Until I loved it. Lisa answered me honestly, she said she knows everyone is on this microblading crazy but my skin and eyebrows didn't need it. Lisa said with shading and maybe a few microblading strokes it'll work great. I really appreciated that, some places I've gone give no feedback just do what your asking, im there bc they are the experts I'm looking for their feedback their expertise. Lisa was exactly that and made everything very comfortable for me when i can and actually went through with it. She even turned up the heat when she noticed I was cold! Only to make it to the appointment and the stylist be out of town. I was never told the stylist wouldn't be able to make the appointment that was booked weeks in advance. The Beauty Crew has a strict cancellation policy in which they will charge the complete service amount if you do not show up. I have a maternity shoot right after the the booked service and the level of customer service for my experience deserves no stars. They sent me emails and text reminders only to show up and have no one at the location. They definitely need to do better with taking peoples time into consideration. I called, emailed and even went on the stylist Instagram page to find the number to contact her. The same page I went on to make the appointment with her. Very disappointed. I was excited to have my hair and makeup done for family portraits and booked a 10am appointment with Mylene after seeing positive reviews online. I even reached out to confirm with her the Tuesday prior because I was uneasy that I had not received one, but she assured me we were all set. However, an hour and a half before the scheduled appointment time, she sent me a text cancelling due to illness. I understand things happen and yes, it is better to be safe than sorry, but there was no effort to make it right in any way. I asked her if she had a replacement or a recommendation for another hair and makeup artist, and she couldn't even be bothered to respond! With it being a Saturday and on such short notice, it was extremely hard to find an appointment elsewhere, resulting in a lot of scrambling around and added stress. Not what you want on picture day. Went here for my prom makeup in May 2019 and was SOO happy with the results. I arrived in the cute studio and my artist (Alexis) was waiting for me. They had a ton of products and were able to execute the exact look I had in mind. Also, I was nervous about looking ashy because I have a deeper skin tone and about the makeup flaking because I have really dry skin, but neither occurred. Took off of work to ensure I had enough time to get to the establishment. I was so excited I was able to find someone on such short notice. Sadly this person is unprofessional. Texted me at 9p the night before stating she will be canceling my service due to her not knowing her own work schedule. Had nothing but excuses of why she had to cancel my service.
