I struggled for several years trying to find the right person to do my eyebrows. It was honestly scary and challenging trusting someone with something that frames your entire face. After following Mary's work for a few years, I finally decided to place my eyebrows in her hands--and even flew to Chicago to see her. It was so worth it. Mary is a truly lovely person--meticulous, professional, and clearly someone who knows exactly what she's doing. The arch of my brows is perfect, the color is spot-on, and they look absolutely beautiful and natural. I'm beyond happy that I made the trip, and I wholeheartedly recommend Mary to anyone who is feeling hesitant or unsure. If you have doubts, trust me--go to Mary. You will not regret it. read more

I used to get my brows done by Mary when I lived in Chicago and she's SO GOOD. How good is she? So good that I would take 2 buses for 1 hour *each way* to get to her salon. Im pretty sure I even went there at least once with my suitcases bc I was headed straight for the airport right after and needed the brows to pop for my trip, haha. As some background, i spent years trying to find someone who could give my fairly straight brows an arch *while also* keeping much of their thickness. I found Mary on IG and am sooo grateful I did. She worked serious magic on my brows! Mary is so sweet, quick, precise, and affordable. I also appreciate that I never felt pressured to make future appointments on the spot or made to feel guilty for going however long between brow cleanups. Mary, I'm sending you the best of vibes from California! It's so cool to see how this business has grown over the years. read more

I have been coming to Mary for at almost 5 years and I will never go anywhere else. Her work is amazing! I always get so many compliments on my brows. She truly shapes your brows perfect to your face! I started out just doing brows but I also get hair and nails done there. Jennifer does my nails and is amazing! I searched for so long to find someone to do the styles I see online and finally found someone! You can bring her and pic and she can do whatever you show her. Everyone is so talented and sweet. They are also so accommodating, I work a lot and can't come during normal hours and they always help me find an appointment that works for my schedule. I'm not sure exactly what to say, BUT it took me years to work up the nerve to finally get the microblading done. I have been following Mary's Sleek Beauty Studio for years, and all the work she has posted has not disappointed. So I went ahead and booked my appointment, then came the day (with nerves still bursting at the seams) and close to canceling, to be honest... but I went. She thoroughly explained EVERY detail AS she worked on me AND let me know what tool she was ready to use and what it was for (to know ahead of time kept me from jolting, i kept my eyes closed to relax, and i was). She was so pleasant, funny, and made me so comfortable..now for her work.. BOOM! SHE NAILED IT, EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED! (I got brows now!!) I live an hour away, and I won't go to anyone else but Mary! (She's officially my brow tech!) She KNOWS HER STUFF! Clearly alot of experience and knowledgeable.. The girl knows her craft HANDS DOWN!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! and I encourage ANYONE that has doubts and fears that you see Mary! NO REGRETS, this i promise you!!! read more

Any good service doesn't fall off like that after less than one week and she even didn't file my nails according the same length and match with my another hand until I said she wasn't do a good job.Do you think is a excuse about explain why the lady don't ask me to wash my hands after the procedure and a real honest owner just apologize and try to get better all your services in your salon, don't try to justify the worst job and making excuses anyone can see when you don't have a good job in your nails . Blanca was amazing! I was referred to her by two of my girlfriends. She did such a great job on both of them that I wanted to try her out myself. I couldn't believe she was able to pull a light color from my dark brown hair that was dyed 3 months prior. I wanted an ashy blonde balayage and she gave me exactly that. I love it and sent photos to my sisters and other friends. They already want to book appointments with her!! Honestly, I've never felt happier walking out of a hair salon! Thanks Blanca, for taking quality time with my hair :) read more

It took a few peeks into Instagram and a few friendly recommendations but I finally decided to give Sleek a try after my usual place changed owners. Let me tell you- Don't let them waste your time! They either need to to get a reliable receptionist or revisit their business plan. I'm a quality over quantity type of gal but Sleek's "exclusive" business approach has left me dumbfounded. I mean new client attainment and client retention is a BIG part of the business model too!!! My 1st encounter: walked in on a Wednesday after rush hour. I'm told they are an appointment only -mind you their website never stated so at the time. All they had to offer was an appointment in three weeks time. Eye roll; Heavy sigh but Fine-my bad should of checked Yelp first! Took the appointment....Three weeks later I walk in and I'm told that My appointment was made for April 11th not that day. Please come back. Vowed I Wouldn't... Though I Was NOT planning to go in on the 11th (mainly because that was not in my schedule); Lord and behold nail emergency creeped up a few days ago so .... considering I had the appointment all set up, I decided to give them another try. My appointment was made for 5:15 so at 4:30 I said let me give them a call to warn I may be 15 minutes late; turns out my nail tech Dede is no longer working with them so my appointment was cancelled and no one called to even give me the heads up or to reschedule. I tell the receptionist hello! I'm on my way can someone else see me. No sorry was their reply. Well, Three strikes you're out! True in baseball and more than enough tries for a business to get it right. You have been warned! read more

Mary has been doing my eyebrows since her basement and no matter where I go no one can knows my brows and can shape them as she does. Although, they're all flexible, I will say all the ladies are pretty booked and busy as their craft is good, so be sure to book your appointments in a timely fashion but yoy won't be disappointed with your service! read more

Mary from Sleek Beauty will always have you looking fly but make sure you have NO OTHER COMMITMENTS set up for the day of your appointment. Why you ask? Sleek Beauty Studio - Jennifer did this, she didn't even apologize. - Makeup Artists Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I highly recommend with great pleasure Mary and Liz at Sleek Beauty Studio. I enjoy researching and finding the gems life has to offer and Mary at Sleek Beauty Studio is a gem. One of the many reasons I love and enjoy using social media is for the significant connections it helps create. I viewed Mary as a gorgeous bride and her beautiful wedding photos online and I loved the style of her wedding. At the time I was newly engaged and I found inspiration as I was a bride-to-be and on my wedding planning journey. I recognized Mary was an eyebrow specialist and stylist. I shortly after connected with Mary on Facebook and Instagram. I booked an appointment for my eyebrows and have been hooked and a loyal client of Mary's ever since! I patiently waited for an event so I may book Mary for a glam appointment for hair and makeup. My first glam with Mary was when I was a bridesmaid and I booked her asap! After the first glam with Mary I looked forward to any event that I could get my hair and makeup done by her. I have done my hair and makeup with professionals before but I didn't have the same experience. Mary as my stylist for hair and makeup made me look natural and my best, I always feel like I'm ready for a photoshoot! I have scheduled many glam sessions with Mary since; birthdays, NYE, bridesmaid, engagement photos, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, bridal glam, any event that I want to glam up I trust in Mary. I connected with Mary in 2013 and I am a loyal customer. If you are looking for the best stylist in Chicago you will find what you are looking for with Mary at Sleek Beauty Studio. I highly recommend Mary to anyone that needs eyebrow, and hair & makeup services. Also definitely worth the travel if you do not live in Chicago or surrounding suburbs. Mary is an excellent stylist and she knows her craft. With Mary as your stylist you may sit down and relax in her chair and you will always be so grateful with the finished product. I now look forward to get my baby shower glam by Mary in August! My husband and I are expecting our first child in the fall. As years go by and life goes on I am so glad I found Mary at such an eventful part of my life. I have shared many blessed events with Mary and I am so grateful that I met her when I did. Mary did my makeup and Liz styled my hair for my bridal events; engagement photos, bridal shower, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, and wedding day. Thank you Mary and Liz for being with me as my glam team on my wedding day, it was a great memorable morning I will always cherish. To be in the hands of experienced stylists I found myself at such peace. I enjoy to find the best in what I plan so I may trust and enjoy the ride. You will find peace and confidence with working with Mary and Liz at Sleek Beauty Studio. Mary has great work ethic and I greatly appreciate Mary as a stylist and for being with me the day of my wedding while she was 9 months pregnant and a week or so away from delivering her baby boy. I would joke and say that I would travel to her delivery room if needed. I am grateful to have had Mary doing well and able to glam me on my wedding day. Thank you for your expertise, talent, professionalism, and loving manner. I truly felt my best with my hair and makeup glam done by Mary and Liz on my wedding day. I feel my best with my eyebrows, hair and makeup glam for any event and gladly trust in you. Thank you Mary and the Sleek Beauty Team! With love and appreciation, Leslie J. Meraz read more

Just had the worst experience. I had a 12 o'clock nail appointment with Elizabeth, got there on time and waited 30 minutes before she told me that she was running late and still wasn't finished with her client. I told her I had somewhere I needed to be so we moved my appointment to 3pm. I get there at 3 and there's nobody there to speak with for 10 minutes. Someone finally comes from the back and tells me that Elizabeth went home for the day. So I text Elizabeth and she tells me that she left and moved me to Jennifer's schedule (at this point it's 3:15 and Jennifer is still not there). Jennifer walks in at 3:30 and we finally get started. And then about 10 minutes in one of my fingers is bleeding and she just wiped it off and didn't say sorry. At the end was atleast expecting some type of discount but ended up paying full price and my nails don't even look that great... read more

Liz is my girl! She always does an amazing job with my eyebrows. I always book ahead of time, because i know she's busy and nobody else is touching my eyebrows. I have been looking for a permanent nail place and I finally found it. Elizabeth does great work for no-chip manicure. She does an amazing job when it comes to nail care. She takes her time and makes sure the nails come out the way you want it. She is so sweet and polite. It's $25 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays or $35 every other day of the week for no-chip manicure. I always have such a wonderful experience at Sleek Beauty Salon. I got my eyebrows microbladed by the owner Mary. She did an absolute amazing job and can't wait for my touch up in a couple weeks. She's a perfectionist and explains everything in detail. She was very thorough and perfected my brows with precision. I would highly recommend her. Mary and her staff are the best! read more

Horrible microblading experience. I feel like Mary could have done a better job on my brows. She said she could fix an issue I was having with crooked brows. So I finally got an appointment, and All she did was go over the uneven shape! I brought it to her attention, and She was confrontational with me. Real quick to blame it on my brows being crooked when I walked in the door. She literally told me "you came in like that". So I walked in the door with uneven brows, paid $250, and then left the same way. I've seen her work, and I am so disappointed. If she couldn't even my brows she should have turned me away and said there was nothing she could do instead of taking my money, "trying to even them out" and then after she got her money she behaved as if it weren't her problem. Not cool. read more

My wife wouldn't come here to post what's on her mind, but she has a kinder heart than I do. She had initially gone to Sleek Beauty Studio based on reviews and suggestions, and initially things went well. She wanted to be a frequent client with Atalie, but that didn't go as planned. She has never once honored an appointment with my wife or daughter. Most times Atalie would reschedule the appointment about a half hour beforehand and the times she didn't, they had to wait 45 minutes to an hour AFTER the scheduled time. Well, today was the last straw. My wife was taking our daughter to get her back to school haircut, they took the bus an hour and a half from Melrose Park to see Atalie, just for her to say she needed to reschedule the appointment AS MY WIFE WAS GETTING OFF THE BUS (10 minutes before the appointment). They have a skilled staff, but the lack of professionalism is truly pathetic. We're never going back! read more
