I had two gift certificates which were old but had no expiration, and the person there in charge did not want to take them because they were old and she mentioned they changed owners, mind you the name of the business did not change. Also I looked up to see if there was new ownership for this business and she lied. According to Illinois law, a business has to take old gift certificates no matter what. Do not trust giving gift certificates from this establishment, they may not take them and lie about changing ownership. Also, the person in charge was very rude. That's why I never attend these places because they are never accountable for their mistakes and they don't care about their customers. I will make sure to report this business to bacp. read more

I can't say enough great things about this nail salon! Pia always makes time for me and makes me feel so welcomed every single visit. The entire staff is not only incredibly talented, but genuinely kind and friendly too. I get regular pedicures, have tried builder gel, acrylics, gel x and more. Harlem Nails is our family's go to nail salon, we have been going there for many years and thankfully have never had a negative experience. It's our go to place to sit back, relax and get pampered. The salon is clean, the staff is meticulous, takes pride in their work and is friendly. My daughter tried GelX for the first time and they lasted well over 2 weeks. Here's an updated…read more PLEASE BELIEVE THE REVIEWS. I decided to give this place a chance anyway, and I seriously regret it because they completely messed up my nails. First, I called to make an appointment for three people. They asked what kind of nails we wanted and told me to send our nail inspiration pictures so they could decide which nail tech would be the best fit. I sent everything, but they never texted me back. When I arrived, they sat me with a lady named Vivian (or something similar). She immediately pulled out Gel-X nail tips. I told her, "No, I want acrylic nails." She then took out polygel instead, and I told her again that I wanted acrylic because I'm paying for the service I asked for. She kept insisting that acrylic was harmful for my nails and convinced me to get polygel instead. I also had an injured fingernail and specifically asked her to leave that finger alone. She ignored my request and put polygel on it anyway. While shaping my nails, she kept hurting that finger because the nails were extremely thick. She even admitted she wouldn't charge me for that finger because of it. Then she started filing with the drill and repeatedly burned my nails because she wasn't lifting the drill properly. The nails ended up looking bulky and way thicker than I wanted. The rhinestones looked terrible--they were just randomly placed on my nails with no attention to detail. To make it worse, she got nail polish and glue all over my hands and never bothered to clean it up. When it was time to pay, my total came to $115. My nails weren't even long, and I was shocked to find out I was being charged extra for polygel--even though I had originally asked for acrylic and only got polygel because she talked me into it. No one explained there would be an extra charge. To make matters even worse, the nail tips started coming off shortly after I got them done. For the amount I paid, I expected them to last, but they didn't. They began lifting and popping off way too soon, which made the quality even more disappointing. The whole experience was frustrating from start to finish. My friend's nails were almost identical to mine, yet I was charged so much more. Before I left, the nail tech started talking to the owner and seemed upset with me. They ended up not charging me for the rhinestones, but that honestly didn't make a difference considering how poorly the service was. I would not recommend this salon. They didn't listen to what I asked for, ignored my concerns about my injured nail, hurt me during the service, left my nails looking thick and messy, and charged me for something I never wanted in the first place. On top of that, the nails didn't even last, and the tips started coming off soon after. Definitely not worth $115. THIS PLACE IS ALL LOOKS IF YALL WANT CUTE NAILS LIKE THE INSPO JUST DONT

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was extremely disappointing and has now become a health concern. I initially went to Harlem Nails for a BIAB manicure. Within only four days, the product completely popped off, which already raised concerns about the quality of the application. When I returned to have the issue addressed, the customer service was poor. There was no apology, no accountability, and I felt dismissed rather than helped. What is most upsetting is that after the second visit, I developed what appears to be an infection on my right ring finger and am currently seeking treatment at Immediate Care because of it. No customer should ever leave a nail salon needing medical attention afterward. Based on my experience, I also have serious concerns regarding hygiene and sanitation practices. Cleanliness and proper tool handling are critical in any nail service, especially when working around the nail bed and skin. I understand mistakes can happen, but professionalism, cleanliness, and customer care matter. Unfortunately, my experience reflected the opposite. I would strongly encourage others to pay close attention to sanitation practices before receiving services here. read more

I've been here three times now, and every experience has been wonderful! This was my daughter's first time at this location, and I especially loved that she was given the same relaxing pedicure experience as an adult (she's 11years old for context). She got to enjoy a nice foot soak, foot massage, and full pedicure, which is something I've found a lot of places don't offer for kids her age. It made the experience feel really special for her. Every time I've come in, the staff has been so kind, welcoming, and helpful. I also really appreciate that they take the time to recommend services based on what I'm actually looking for with my nails. Whether my goal is to strengthen my natural nails (like doing dip) or add length (like Gel-X), they help me choose what will work best instead of just pushing a service. I was looking for a new place to get a good mani pedi for natural nails and saw positive reviews for Harlem Nails. I called, and they were able to get me in the same day, for the time I requested. They were a bit backed up because they were quite busy but remained friendly and focused on clients. Yessi did my pedicure and, though new, did a great job -- listening to me about a few preferences, not rushing through the scrub and massage, and doing a lovely job on the polish. Pia, who was mentioned several times in other reviews, did my manicure and gave as much attention as Yessi, while juggling a few client calls. You can tell she really cares about everyone who comes in and it shows by how many repeat customers they have. I will definitely be back! read more
