The biggest issue, unfortunately, is time management. While they take appointments, the experience feels more like a walk-in system. Even today, I had a 1:00 PM appointment. I wasn't brought back to the pedicure area until 1:30, and my actual pedicure didn't begin until 1:55. Unfortunately, this has been a consistent pattern every time I've visited. Once my pedicure finally started, the technician seemed distracted, constantly looking around the salon, and the entire service felt rushed. Another disappointing experience. She even handed me off halfway through. The worst experience happened when I booked an appointment about a month in advance for myself, my sister, and my niece. We intentionally scheduled morning manicure and pedicure appointments because we already had afternoon plans. When we arrived, we were brought back to the pedicure area and asked to start soaking. After about 15 minutes, someone began my pedicure. Then things really went downhill. Thirty minutes passed, then forty, and my sister and niece were still just sitting there with their feet in cold water. No one acknowledged them or gave any updates. At one point, I asked the person working on me if she could please stop and begin my niece's pedicure instead. She responded, "5 more minutes, almost done," while pointing to other clients who didn't even have polish applied yet. After over an hour, my sister finally decided to skip her services altogether so they could start my niece's pedicure. While my niece was getting her pedicure, someone simultaneously started working on her manicure, which made the entire experience feel rushed and awkward. After more than two hours: *My sister received no services at all *I only received my pedicure My niece ended up with a rushed pedicure and *what I'd loosely call a manicure The most frustrating part wasn't even the delay itself, it was the complete lack of communication or acknowledgment. We were simply left sitting there with no updates. So if you need appointments to actually fit your schedule, or if you're planning a visit with a group of 2-3 people, I sadly can't recommend this location.

With that said, if you live in the Niles, Des Plaines, Park Ridge areas, this is the BEST manicurist around, who is AMAZING at nail art (even if you don't live by, she's worth a drive). If you are new to the nail art game, it can be a time investment - my appointments for example are 2hrs - but, again, soooo worth it! The logistics; Elixir Beauty Bar by Traci Garcia is located INSIDE a salon called Chic Couture. It is not a stand alone business so you will not see Elixir on the outside of the salon business. There's plenty of street parking (free and paid) surrounding the business. The salon may or may not have someone to greet you at the door, but if you just let someone know you're there to see Traci or for Elixir Beauty, they will point you in the right direction. There's a coffee, tea, and water bar available right outside her door. Always good to stay hydrated! Traci, outside of being artistic, is super sweet. Very friendly. And she plays great music (especially if you like 80's music or 90's R&B, but also has a wide variety of genres). It's a good idea to have your ideas ready to share or show her, but even if you don't, she has sample art of what she can do all over the room as well as a deep range of colors. I book my appointments on styleseat.com and that also gives you an idea of all the treatments she offers. I specifically go to her for nail art on soft gel overlay, but she offers all kinds of options AND she's actually an esthetician, so there's an entire additional menu of services there that I haven't experienced. Additionally, she will send coupons out on occasion for different services. Hopefully she doesn't get too popular, otherwise I will have to fight to get on her schedule! But if she does get crazy busy, she deserves it. I love my nails every time I leave there.

Here's an updated…read more PLEASE BELIEVE THE REVIEWS. I decided to give this place a chance anyway, and I seriously regret it because they completely messed up my nails. First, I called to make an appointment for three people. They asked what kind of nails we wanted and told me to send our nail inspiration pictures so they could decide which nail tech would be the best fit. I sent everything, but they never texted me back. When I arrived, they sat me with a lady named Vivian (or something similar). She immediately pulled out Gel-X nail tips. I told her, "No, I want acrylic nails." She then took out polygel instead, and I told her again that I wanted acrylic because I'm paying for the service I asked for. She kept insisting that acrylic was harmful for my nails and convinced me to get polygel instead. I also had an injured fingernail and specifically asked her to leave that finger alone. She ignored my request and put polygel on it anyway. While shaping my nails, she kept hurting that finger because the nails were extremely thick. She even admitted she wouldn't charge me for that finger because of it. Then she started filing with the drill and repeatedly burned my nails because she wasn't lifting the drill properly. The nails ended up looking bulky and way thicker than I wanted. The rhinestones looked terrible--they were just randomly placed on my nails with no attention to detail. To make it worse, she got nail polish and glue all over my hands and never bothered to clean it up. When it was time to pay, my total came to $115. My nails weren't even long, and I was shocked to find out I was being charged extra for polygel--even though I had originally asked for acrylic and only got polygel because she talked me into it. No one explained there would be an extra charge. To make matters even worse, the nail tips started coming off shortly after I got them done. For the amount I paid, I expected them to last, but they didn't. They began lifting and popping off way too soon, which made the quality even more disappointing. The whole experience was frustrating from start to finish. My friend's nails were almost identical to mine, yet I was charged so much more. Before I left, the nail tech started talking to the owner and seemed upset with me. They ended up not charging me for the rhinestones, but that honestly didn't make a difference considering how poorly the service was. I would not recommend this salon. They didn't listen to what I asked for, ignored my concerns about my injured nail, hurt me during the service, left my nails looking thick and messy, and charged me for something I never wanted in the first place.
