I should mention that I am a general dentist working in Chicago and saying that I pay attention to detail is an understatement. To put it lightly, I can be a bit controlling and difficult to please. At my very first visit, I had my eyebrows done. I watched nervously in a mirror as she tattooed my eyebrows. I was surprised at how quickly she was finished. I have read that this procedure can take up to an hour but I was out in less than 30 min (with half of that time actually being tattooed). I hate to brag, but wow... my eyebrows look amazing!! I still get compliments on them to this day. My eyebrows were not bad before but I always thought they looked better a little filled in. Now I wake up every morning with perfect eyebrows! Its really great, I would recommend it to anyone. I later went back to see Wanda to get my eye liner done. Which I NEVER thought I would do for obvious reasons (like what if i didn't want to wear eyeliner somedays?). I told Wanda I wanted it to look very natural. I trusted her so much at this point, I just let her do her thing. She did such a phenomenal job. It looks exactly how I wanted it to look and I couldn't be happier. LOCATION: I have been 3 different locations to see Wanda. All were extremely easy to find. Parking was never an issue (even in her downtown location!) and all facilities were clean and comfortable. PAIN: I was very worried about how much this was going to hurt. I am a bit of a baby when it comes to needles and I grow especially frantic with thing close to my eyes. Wanda uses a topical numbing agent before she starts and this helped more than I can describe. She must use a very strong topical agent because the pain was much less than I was expecting. Ultimately, your still getting a tattoo on you eye lid so keep in mind its not the most comfortable feeling. Wanda works very quickly and so even if you are having a bad experience, it doesn't last very long. MONEY: This is a bit of an investment for beauty but I did some simple math and justified this expense. The amount of money I would have spend on eye liner and brow filler over the course of many years was much higher than what I would be investing on tattooing it in. When you combine that with the fact that you will be saving so much time getting ready every morning it seemed like a no brainer! Overall, Wanda is a true artist. She has been doing this for decades and now teaches other people how to do this art. She is an esthetic eye, works incredibly fast and is extraordinarily talented. I couldn't ask for better qualities in my permanent makeup artist.

Havy is very sweet and personable and made me feel very comfortable at the appointment. However, I was naive and did not understand that semi-permanent means that microblading is PERMANENT but will partially fade over time. Havy simply stated it would last anywhere from 1-2 years, which caused me to believe it would go away completely after a few years if I did not like it. Furthermore, I had a similar experience to many of the other reviewers - Havy shaved off part of my real eyebrow on the right side and microbladed far above my natural eyebrow in an effort to "even them out". The result is a much higher arch on the right side and I cannot grow in my real brows without having the two "tail" effect other reviewers have complained about. My eyebrows are also not at all even. Granted I have not gone back to have this procedure redone since my first touch up (because I just want my natural look back), but I am now in a situation where I have to figure out how to remove the microblading because I look ridiculous. It is embarrassing. I basically have half an eyebrow where there is no hair because it does not line up with where my eyebrow hair grows in, and you can tell where my real eyebrow stops and the microblading begins. Instead of creating more low-maintenance brows that are effortless, I have to wear make up and put in a lot of work to even them out daily. I regret the procedure and cannot believe I spent over $500 to mess up my face. Havy should have better explained that this would be permanently on my face and she should NOT be shaving off anyone's natural brow and tattooing somewhere else entirely. Hello, I've been looking for a new lash tech since last year because my original lash tech is on a…read morehiatus at the moment. I booked with Alana because her work looked good and she had good reviews. I got my lashes done Saturday Nov. 15th, at 2pm. I went to the location and waited in the waiting room for 15 minutes. As I was drafting up my text message to Alana about canceling the appointment because I waited too long for her without any communication that she would be running late, she came out to get me. I went back to Alana's room where she would her son on the floor playing games with the volume up. Nothing was communicated to me that her son would be there. During the appointment, she kept stopping to talk/tend to her son. Then, she ended up putting him out of the room. She took her time on my left eye then rushed on my right eye. The appointment is then over as I'm getting situated in the room, Alana runs and grabs her other client. I got my stuff, checked the time which was 4:25pm and paid. I loved the lashes. They were so cute until they started falling out left and right. The right eye which she rushed on continued falling out. I've never experienced that with the three other lash techs I've been to. I messaged Alana on Friday Nov. 21st, voicing my concern and requesting a refund. To that Alana stated I'm going to conduct a survey for my other four clients from that day. What does my experience have to do with your other clients' experiences? Those other clients could be regular clients, I'm a new client. Then Alana proceeds to say I would rather not fix the problem so I'll just reimburse you. That's fine I didn't want her to fix the problem to begin with, she offered to fix it. Which I was going to decline anyways. After a lot of back and forth and waiting for me, I just requested a refund which she ended up sending at 1:54am, Sunday Nov. 23rd. Screenshots of messages and photos of lashes are attached. If you're a POC don't go here. After re-examining her website, booking site, google page, and instagram there aren't any photos of POC that she has serviced and that should have been a red flag. 5/31 - Update: I appreciate the salon reaching out directly and issuing a full refund. They were…read moreclosed today but still took the time to contact me and make things right. 5/30 - I initially had several positive experiences at this salon. I had been seeing the same tech for a few months, and my first few sets turned out beautifully with no issues. Unfortunately, after a previous appointment, I developed significant swelling, itching, and irritation in one eye within hours of leaving the salon. I contacted the salon and was told it could be an allergic reaction to the adhesive. The symptoms eventually resolved after a few days. Because the issue had cleared up, I decided to give lash extensions another try and returned three weeks later. Unfortunately, I experienced another reaction, and this one was much worse. The same eye became extremely swollen, painful, and irritated shortly after the appointment. I developed discharge and crusting around the extensions, and many of the extensions fell out almost immediately. I want to note that both reactions occurred very shortly after my appointments, before I had washed, wet, or otherwise handled the extensions. Since clients are instructed not to get their lashes wet for 24 hours after application, I do not believe this was related to aftercare or hygiene issues at home. What has been most upsetting is the damage to my natural lashes. As I write this review, I have virtually no natural eyelashes remaining on my right eye. Not only did I lose the extensions I paid for, but I also lost nearly all of my own lashes on that side and am now left looking noticeably uneven while I wait for them to grow back. I understand that allergic reactions can happen and may be outside of the salon's control. However, after spending $130 on my most recent fill appointment and ending up with a swollen eye, severe irritation, and almost no natural lashes remaining on my right eye, I felt it was important to share my experience.
