GENERAL: I have been seeing Wanda for a few years now and have nothing but great things to say about her art work. I should mention that I am a general dentist working in Chicago and saying that I pay attention to detail is an understatement. To put it lightly, I can be a bit controlling and difficult to please. At my very first visit, I had my eyebrows done. I watched nervously in a mirror as she tattooed my eyebrows. I was surprised at how quickly she was finished. I have read that this procedure can take up to an hour but I was out in less than 30 min (with half of that time actually being tattooed). I hate to brag, but wow... my eyebrows look amazing!! I still get compliments on them to this day. My eyebrows were not bad before but I always thought they looked better a little filled in. Now I wake up every morning with perfect eyebrows! Its really great, I would recommend it to anyone. I later went back to see Wanda to get my eye liner done. Which I NEVER thought I would do for obvious reasons (like what if i didn't want to wear eyeliner somedays?). I told Wanda I wanted it to look very natural. I trusted her so much at this point, I just let her do her thing. She did such a phenomenal job. It looks exactly how I wanted it to look and I couldn't be happier. LOCATION: I have been 3 different locations to see Wanda. All were extremely easy to find. Parking was never an issue (even in her downtown location!) and all facilities were clean and comfortable. PAIN: I was very worried about how much this was going to hurt. I am a bit of a baby when it comes to needles and I grow especially frantic with thing close to my eyes. Wanda uses a topical numbing agent before she starts and this helped more than I can describe. She must use a very strong topical agent because the pain was much less than I was expecting. Ultimately, your still getting a tattoo on you eye lid so keep in mind its not the most comfortable feeling. Wanda works very quickly and so even if you are having a bad experience, it doesn't last very long. MONEY: This is a bit of an investment for beauty but I did some simple math and justified this expense. The amount of money I would have spend on eye liner and brow filler over the course of many years was much higher than what I would be investing on tattooing it in. When you combine that with the fact that you will be saving so much time getting ready every morning it seemed like a no brainer! Overall, Wanda is a true artist. She has been doing this for decades and now teaches other people how to do this art. She is an esthetic eye, works incredibly fast and is extraordinarily talented. I couldn't ask for better qualities in my permanent makeup artist. read more

Several years ago I had a so called tattoo artist do permanent work on my eyes. I wore the messy work for years wishing I would have had better results as two woman I know have had done. All the reviews I seen about Wanda have been great. Maybe the three times I seen her she was off. I would never recommend her to my worst enemy. Wanda was very applicable but her work was awful! The very first time for my eyeliner she asked me if I wanted wings (swooping out from the end of my eye). I told her no. When she got done I had one on my left eye. I followed her directions put the ointment on. After the four weeks the ink was chipping off, they were a mess. Wanda did them again, same thing is happening now after two and a half weeks. I can see by four weeks out it will be the same. I was told it would cost $400.00 and I seen she charged me $450.00. When I realized that happen, she did refund me $50.00. Her work is not worth $400.00!!!!! So, so disappointed. You can go to someone who charges $200.00 and get the same work done! I did notice a lot of her reviews are older but I knew someone who used her and her eyes look ok. Look around, there are a lot of people who do this. read more

This was a great experience. I was extremely terrified to get my eyebrows tattooed, but as soon as I walked through the door, Wanda made me feel comfortable. Wanda is a real artist. I wanted to have permanent eyeliner (tattoo) for years. My eyelashes didn't come back after chemotherapy and I was self conscious about it. Still I wasn't sure whom to consult. After all, permanent makeup is ... permanent. The last thing I wanted was a sloppy job that I'd regret forever. Wanda had years of experience and tons of excellent recommendations. Well, she was the right choice. The initial visit was amazing. Wanda spent time finding out exactly what I wanted. The procedure took +/-45 minutes, and the results - even immediately after - were better than I'd imagined. I feared they would fade. I loved the early result. They did fade a bit, but Wanda schedules a 6-week follow-up and does any touch-up necessary to get your permanent makeup exactly as you want it. No extra charge, even though the touch-up took nearly an hour more. She made sure the results were perfect. (Not that I'm perfect, but my eyeliner is.) I am entirely happy with my eyeliner tattoos and can't overstate Wanda's care and professionalism. Worth every penny to have my permanent makeup done by an artist. Wanda saved my self esteem. I had a really bad eyeliner job done by someone else and it left me embarrassed and fearful that i would never look "normal" again. I started going to Wanda almost 12 years ago. She gave me beautiful eyebrows and eyeliner. I didn't have to put makeup for years after that. I made appointments to refresh the color a few times. Then I stopped having my eyebrow tattoo refreshed because I decided to try and grow back my over plucked eyebrows. I used different ointments for several years but the eyebrows didn't grow back. The tattoo on my eyebrows was almost gone. By then, a new form of brow tattoo became all the rage: feather stroke. A friend of mine got one and I decided to get one as well. Although the artist was expensive and had all kinds of licenses and endorsements on her walls, I went home with a horrible, unbecoming shape that made my face just ugly. The eyebrows made me look angry. Every time I looked in the mirror, I got upset. I kept recalling the first time I came home with permanent makeup from Wanda all those years ago. How, despite the greasy ointment, I kept looking in the mirror and feeling beautiful. I realize now that, it's not enough to be good at the actual tattooing. One has to be an excellent makeup artist - which Wanda is. She sees a person's face and draws eyebrows that enhance that face. Until I went to a different artist, I hadn't realized that not everyone is good at the actual design of the eyebrow shape. Wanda is good at both the design and the stroke.
