Asteria is a super charming med spa located conveniently in Mount Prospect. Parking is easy, as soon as I approach Asteria on NW Hwy, I park directly on the main street right in front. The decor is very aesthetic and cute - gold, black, green velvet, grungy and glamorous. The staff is always so friendly and I never have to sit and wait. I get my Botox here and Jenn is the best. She is so personable, professional and honest. She tells me realistically what I need and doesn't try to upsell me which I appreciate. The best ever! I'll never get injections anywhere else. My first couple times I received Juvederm in Miami, you'd think the best place right?! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! They didn't take the time or care to numb me before doing my lip filler. When I came to Jennifer, I truly felt like royalty. Not only did she numb me with some bomb ass stuff, but everything was thorough, she took the time to explain to me every step she was doing, also evened out my lips from the last few times I had them filled!!! I got a VI peel with Michelle and she was the absolute best. She was so friendly and took the time to sit down and answer all of my questions about the peel. I was nervous because I had a bad experience in the past and I was left with lots of hyperpigmentation on my neck and forehead. Please go elsewhere if looking to have the plasma pen/ fibroblast treatment. Jennifer has left me with indents/pits on my cheekbones as a result of her being to aggressive in that area. I reached out to her many times and each time told something different... first the indents were normal and good! Then when she saw the pits/indents she claimed that she had never had that happen to any of her patients. She suggested a VI peel and discounted it 25 dollars. It still cost me $250. Since covid was happening and the office was closed she instructed me to bring cash and had her aesthetician perform the peel on me in the basement spa chair in her home. The peel did not help very much and I was out the $250. I gave it a few months as she suggested and then reached out again. This time she suggested I buy two facial cream products from her. These were pretty expensive and at this point I told her that I have spend enough money with her and that I thought that she was sending me the creams free of charge. She agreed and sent them to me. After months of using those with little improvement I reached out again. I have had two others in the industry look at the pits. One is a dermatologist and the other a physician that owns a medical spa in Fort Lauderdale, that happens to be my sister (I'm in Illinois) both suggested microneedling or laser resurfacing of the area. I contacted Jennifer and asked about microneedling and again she offered to sell me a package and said the sale she was running just ended but she would give me that price. I was in stock and wrote her an email about how unprofessional she was. Both my sister who owns a medical spa and the dermatologist had said that if it were them that had done this to a patient who still had theses marks they would have given them microneedling treatments at no cost to see if it helped with the indents. I told this to Jennifer and said I would go elsewhere since she is only interested in making money off people that she left scarred instead of fixing her mistakes. Her response was that after I reached out to her about having my sister who I was going to visit take a look at my medical records she contacted her lawyers who advised her not to have contact with me. But she was still willing to sell me treatments after that advice and have me come to her basement spa during covid with cash only... I will update this review with more info, emails, and pictures if I can or put them on other review sites. It has now been a year and I'm seeing some improvements after microneedling. Please go elsewhere if you are wanting microneedling, because Jennifer is only about making money and if she leaves indents/pits on your cheekbones because she was to aggressive on the bone area she will do nothing to try to correct her mistake!
