Old school barber that does it right. Takes his time, good balance of clipper, scissors, and razor cut with a straight razor finish. Did a wonderful job and gave me a great recommendation for a coffee spot down the street. A great cup recommendation from a local. Really nice gentleman and conversationalist. The place is modern and stylish. The atmosphere is relaxing and intimate and fortunately I had a short waiting time. The best experience of the wait time was not surfing through my phone, or flipping through the pages of a GQ magazine. Oh no, it was being offered a refreshment and sipping a glass of whiskey. They offer other refreshments such as water and soda, but I decided to keep it classy. Maya was my stylist and let me just say that she is excellent at what she does. She asked how I typically style my hair and after a few back and forth comments, she went straight to work. I wanted a new look and let her take the wheel. The overall style was everything I was looking for. I was highly impressed with my experience that I also purchased some styling product she used to give my future styles that extra flare! Thank you Maya!

Not sure how people can't comprehend that a place that books appointments also welcomes walk ins…read morecan't comprehend that appointments would be prioritized. It's also baffling that someone who can function on Yelp well enough to leave 1 star reviews couldn't also manage to set an appointment from that same device. Either way.. this barbershop is excellent and that's what this is about. Comparatively the cost is extremely low for the quality. The barbers are great at what they do and everyone that works there is personable. I see Will semi regularly over the last few months and I'm always extremely happy with the cut I receive. Parking is a little challenging in the area, but where isn't it in Chicago? Plan around that like you live here. Don't let that deter you from visiting a great barbershop. 5 stars well deserved.

It doesn't grow fast, so when I get a cut...it's gonna last more than a few months! I also have very fine hair and not a lot of it (thanks to my three kids) so going to the salon has not been a favorite thing to lately. I was referred to Evelia. I really really like her. She gave an awesome cut and a great foil highlights. The establishment is not top of the line by any means...but it is very clean and they do the best they can with the space. They offer you coffee or tea when coming in, and have a water jug thingy for water while you wait. They also have a nice candy assortment in a bowl to munch on while you wait. Evelia also does great eyebrown and stash waxing. They use all the "extras" to make the experience as painless as possible. It's the first place I don't come out flaming red with, after a wax. My three daughters now go here. My one daughter who has curly hair will only have her touch her hair from now on, because she has done such a good job cutting and shaping it. It's the first time in her LIFE, she actually had a style with her "curly" hair. One of my daughters has also been seen by Tina (who is co owner with Evelia) and she did a really nice cut on my one daughter too. On the weekends they have other people come like a girl named Kim who seemed really good too. Velintinas also has an older italian barber that does all the men's hair. His chair is always swamped too! Over all, great place. I will definetly follow Evelia, because she is great! My mom goes there now, and really likes her. She is very down to earth, holds a good conversation, and very pleasent to be with.
