I am obsessed with Lashes by Yanna! I found out about Yanna through a friend - I was so amazed by…read moremy friend's lashes because they looked so full and long but also so natural - I really thought they were her lashes. So I asked her how she got her lashes to look that beautiful and then she told me she had them done with Yanna! So I decided to book Yanna for my wedding day lashes and I was SO amazed! I absolutely LOVED how they look. They look so natural but also so beautiful and thick. Her studio is also so nice to be in - it's warm and inviting, very clean, smells really good, decorated so nicely, and she has great music playing in the background and you get to lay on a super cozy bed right by the window while she does your lashes. I had never had my lashes done before so I was pretty nervous, but she is super friendly and calming. Honestly, the first time I met her, it somehow felt like we had known each other for years. She was so fun and easy to chat with. She helped my nerves go away, and I didn't feel anything while she was putting the lashes on! It was so relaxing and peaceful. So the process is amazing and the final result is amazing. I got soooo many compliments on my lashes - even a professional makeup artist who also does lashes told me that she was very impressed with mine and she could tell that they were very well done. The lashes also last a while - about a month or maybe even more. I used to wear mascara everyday, but mascara is hard to wash off, gets in my eyes and irritates my eyes, gets clumpy and flaky, and I think was also giving me pimples - my skin seems to have cleared up ever since not using mascara anymore. Because of how beautiful and effortless Yanna's lashes are, I am thinking to start going regularly to get them done instead of wearing mascara. I initially just got them for my wedding, but I love them so much I may just stick with them :) One other thing I loved - she does a few test lashes during your consultation visit to make sure there's no allergic reaction. My skin is pretty sensitive so I was a little bit worried about having a reaction, but there were no issues at all! All in all, I had an excellent experience with Lashes by Yanna and I highly recommend her!

I've been needing my eyebrows touched up, but was afraid to try a new person. I ran into Elsa in the grocery store and she suggested that I touch up my eyebrows. What a difference. It had been four years since I had them touched up and now they look even better than the original artist. It didn't hurt as much as before and I'm excited I have someone that I can count on when I need it done again in a few years. She works with cancer, patients and people that have scars. She also fixes people that have had bad micro blading. Someone that also adds those services has to be a true artist and have a lot of empathy which she has in spades. I highly recommend her as I have had other friends go elsewhere in the past, who did not have as good of an experience. I did a lot of research and waited some time before selecting my artist, & I am glad that I chose Elsa! If you are looking for an eyelash artist in the city who is truly next-level, look no further -- I…read moream genuinely so grateful that I found my lash lady, because Narumi is absolutely incredible in every way. I've tried a few places in the past, and nothing has ever come close to the level of quality, care, and kindness she provides. From the moment you walk into her beautiful studio, you can feel the difference. It's clean, calming, stylish, and instantly makes you feel at ease like a little oasis in the middle of the city. She is unbelievably sweet, patient, and so professional. She takes the time to ask what look you want, explains everything, and makes sure you feel completely comfortable the entire appointment. You can tell she loves what she does because she puts so much attention and detail into every single lash. Not only do my lashes come out stunning every time -- full, fluffy, and perfectly customized to my eye shape -- but they actually LAST. I don't know what magic she uses, but her retention is unreal. I go weeks without needing a fill and they still look beautiful. Beyond her talent, she's just one of the nicest people I've ever met. She makes the whole experience relaxing and enjoyable instead of rushed or stressful. You can genuinely feel how much she cares about her clients. She creates such a warm vibe that you leave not just feeling prettier, but also genuinely cared for. I am so, so happy I found her in the city. If you've been searching for an eyelash person who truly knows what they're doing -- someone whose work is consistent, whose lashes LAST, who's super sweet, and whose studio feels like a peaceful escape -- then this is 100% the place for you. As for the process of actually having my lashes extended, there I have less to say as I am usually blissfully asleep! My lashes themselves are just beautiful. They look natural and feel great. They last a long time which saves me time and money. I get compliments all the time. I'm not particularly skilled with makeup; this is really the only cosmetic thing I do, and I love love love waking up ready. In addition to all this, I just really like Narumi as a person! She is smart and kind and charming and has great restaurant recommendations! I am still relatively new to town, and knowing her is part of what makes Chicago feel like home which means a lot to me right now. Sonia Roselli's studio has done hair/makeup for two of my friends' weddings, so when I got engaged,…read moreit was a no-brainer that I would use this place: I wanted the absolute best. I have to say, while I was ultimately pleased with the way things turned out in the end, my experience didn't go according to plan. First, my stylist (who was awesome overall) arrived almost half an hour late. I understand that her Uber broke down, but no one called to communicate this to me on the morning of the wedding, and I was FREAKING OUT and had to run around trying to track down someone from Sonia's salon, which I was finally able to do, but it was super stressful. Hair and makeup ultimately came out great, but initially when I looked at my hair in the mirror I was not at all pleased, as it looked NOTHING like the photos I had given my stylist for reference. As she had run late, I didn't say anything because there wasn't time to fix it. It's also true that I didn't do a trial, which could have helped, but for the huge amount of money I was already paying and the fact that my ceremony was a small Chicago elopement, it didn't seem worth the price ($195 PER SERVICE, so over $400 with tip). Also, throughout the time my stylist was working on me, I kept asking if we'd be done on schedule and she kept assuring that we would be, but she ended up running about half an hour over, so everything about my wedding was delayed by 30 minutes as a result, including the ceremony itself. Everything turned out well as I was pleased with the look once I put my dress on, but overall I was not happy with the way everything went down. For that high cost, I expected the highest possible customer service, which this place did not deliver.

I've researched for hours trying to pick the best of the best, and I've had my share of MUA/hairstylists in the past who left my face looking raccoon-like & my hair in weird bouffant & frizz ball. I am very particular because if I'm going to commit to pay a pretty steep amount for trials & actual session, it had to be good. Couple of my gf's had their bridal makeup/hair from Sonia Roselli staff so I had some expectations. If I had any worries, Bridgit was quick to address them & offer her advice. (She was great!) pros: * communication with the Manager, Bridgit was great & she was quick to answer any questions, concerns, & was a big help with arranging the trials and rescheduling if necessary. * the two ladies I worked with were lovely & had a great personality. (Korena-hair & Sami-makeup) *korena: she gave me the look that I asked for. I probably would change up the 'do since it didn't flatter my face, but she was great. Cons :( * sigh...... Woah, the makeup. I really feel bad for saying anything because Sami is a doll. But that makeup was not good nor flattering. I was excited because she's a pro at lash extensions/falsies, but after our 2.5-3 hour session, I didn't care for the lashes. With my monolids, it's difficult to create the same dramatic look as others, but when I came home to a better & bright lighting, my mom & sisters reaction said it all. "Omg linda.... You look exhausted, what happened to your eyes ?!? " I proceeded to the bathroom & saw that all the taupe eyeshadow was smothered underneath my eyes. My family knows how much I love makeup & the look that I love, but they exclaimed that I cannot walk down the aisle looking like that. For my wedding, I want to look elegant, but fresh & beautiful. Sadly, the complete look wasn't executed to my expectations. Who knows ?? I may have a better chance with a different artist, but after that long session & talking to Bridgit about my woes, I think I'm going to move on.
