Sonia Roselli's studio has done hair/makeup for two of my friends' weddings, so when I got engaged, it was a no-brainer that I would use this place: I wanted the absolute best. I have to say, while I was ultimately pleased with the way things turned out in the end, my experience didn't go according to plan. First, my stylist (who was awesome overall) arrived almost half an hour late. I understand that her Uber broke down, but no one called to communicate this to me on the morning of the wedding, and I was FREAKING OUT and had to run around trying to track down someone from Sonia's salon, which I was finally able to do, but it was super stressful. Hair and makeup ultimately came out great, but initially when I looked at my hair in the mirror I was not at all pleased, as it looked NOTHING like the photos I had given my stylist for reference. As she had run late, I didn't say anything because there wasn't time to fix it. It's also true that I didn't do a trial, which could have helped, but for the huge amount of money I was already paying and the fact that my ceremony was a small Chicago elopement, it didn't seem worth the price ($195 PER SERVICE, so over $400 with tip). Also, throughout the time my stylist was working on me, I kept asking if we'd be done on schedule and she kept assuring that we would be, but she ended up running about half an hour over, so everything about my wedding was delayed by 30 minutes as a result, including the ceremony itself. Everything turned out well as I was pleased with the look once I put my dress on, but overall I was not happy with the way everything went down. Researching & trying to pick a great professional makeup & hair stylist for a wedding is a big task of its own. I've researched for hours trying to pick the best of the best, and I've had my share of MUA/hairstylists in the past who left my face looking raccoon-like & my hair in weird bouffant & frizz ball. I am very particular because if I'm going to commit to pay a pretty steep amount for trials & actual session, it had to be good. Couple of my gf's had their bridal makeup/hair from Sonia Roselli staff so I had some expectations. If I had any worries, Bridgit was quick to address them & offer her advice. (She was great!) pros: * communication with the Manager, Bridgit was great & she was quick to answer any questions, concerns, & was a big help with arranging the trials and rescheduling if necessary. * the two ladies I worked with were lovely & had a great personality. (Korena-hair & Sami-makeup) *korena: she gave me the look that I asked for. I probably would change up the 'do since it didn't flatter my face, but she was great. Cons :( * sigh...... Woah, the makeup. I really feel bad for saying anything because Sami is a doll. But that makeup was not good nor flattering. I was excited because she's a pro at lash extensions/falsies, but after our 2.5-3 hour session, I didn't care for the lashes. With my monolids, it's difficult to create the same dramatic look as others, but when I came home to a better & bright lighting, my mom & sisters reaction said it all. "Omg linda.... You look exhausted, what happened to your eyes ?!? " I proceeded to the bathroom & saw that all the taupe eyeshadow was smothered underneath my eyes. My family knows how much I love makeup & the look that I love, but they exclaimed that I cannot walk down the aisle looking like that. For my wedding, I want to look elegant, but fresh & beautiful. Sadly, the complete look wasn't executed to my expectations. Who knows ?? I have had my makeup done by Sonia 3 times now and each time I couldn't believe her talent. I love Sonia and it really was amazing having her be a part of my day. I was so happy with my makeup. I had mile long lashes!!!! I was in love with my lashes and received soo many compliments on my makeup and eyes! My mom for the first time ever got her makeup done by a professional and had eyelashes put on as well and all her friends were jealous. Sonia is fabulous. I have attended 2 make-up classes, had my wedding trial, and wedding make-up done by a SR associate. Sonia is hilarious, very warm, and welcoming. Her studio is absolutely adorable. The makeup enhances whatcha got, not make you look unrecognizable. From glam to natural, she knows it all, but more importantly so do the people that work for her. Abby did my makeup trial for my wedding and my makeup day of. I wanted overall a more natural look, with some emphasis on the eyes. She nailed it! I scheduled my trial the day of my engagement photos, and I loved the final result. And the pictures came out perfect! The day of the wedding we had a major hiccup and Abby was VERY late. BUT!!!! Living in California, I was a little bit worried when it came time to choose hair and make-up. I am also in grad school out here so it was really difficult to make it back to Chicago before I needed to make a decision. I had my sister go to the first make-up and hair trial with Sonia and Korena. I was so happy with the results that I hired her within the next few days. My sister kept raving about how awesome Sonia was and how much she enjoyed talking with her. They became instant best buds! I was super excited about my choice to hire her. While I felt really good about the choice I made, I still wanted to get a trial of my own to make sure I was happy with how things would go. Thanks to Bridgit for putting up with my schedule as I was trying to fit this in! They were so awesome to work with to coordinate everything! My sister was right. Sonia was wonderful in so many ways and I loved how effortlessly beautiful my make-up was and how I felt with it. Korena was also phenomenal and worked wonders with extensions in my already long hair. She was so quick and the final product was GORGEOUS. I felt amazingly beautiful as any bride should on their big day...the excitement for the big day continued. When the big day finally came, they were there right on time and ready to make us all feel amazing. Bridgit had communicated well with me beforehand to put me at ease and helped me to stay organized. While the morning kind of ran away from us, we stayed pretty much on time. We ended up having Sonia, Korena, and Sara. Besides having to retouch a few curls towards the end, Sara was also a great addition to the team. We had 7 bridesmaids, my mom, and myself for hair and five for make-up. We had to start pretty early at 10am for a 3 pm wedding but it didn't feel like we were pressed for time at all (even though my in-laws thought that we might not finish in time). Overall, I was very pleased with how everything turned out and I thought everyone looked beautiful and I couldn't have been happier. I will say while it was a little pricey, you are definitely paying for the quality of these ladies, especially Sonia and Korena. To top it off, my make-up and hair stayed fabulous the whole night as we rushed from place to place for dinner and danced the night away. It was everything I could have imagined and these ladies made my make up and hair dreams come true! I felt like the beautiful bride I had always imagined. Thank you, ladies! I'm not sure I'll say anything that hasn't been said before, but I can tell you for certain that these glowing reviews are true! I first encountered Sonia when she did the makeup for my matron of honor's bridal party on her wedding day. We all looked amazing in record time, and I was sold! Everyone's faces looked flawless in the photos, even at the end of the night. For my wedding, I purchased one of Sonia's bridal packages, so she did my makeup a few times before my wedding for various events, and every time it just kept getting better. What really impressed me most about working with Sonia is how much she remembered about my skin and what did and didn't work well on my face. It would be months between visits, and she would remember my face like it was yesterday! Not to mention, it is SO much fun working with her! She had me cracking up every time, and her boutique is adorable. I would highly recommend doing a package so you can figure out your preferences through more than just a trial run. It was really fun to have her experiment with a few different looks for my bridal showers and other events before our big day. She also takes the time to get to know you and your style, including your dress, etc., and helps you pick a look that matches your whole event. Ultimately, for our wedding day, I looked like the best possible version of myself, and felt like a million bucks. I never needed a touch-up all day, either. I LOVE her airbrush foundation, and it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin at all. She did a wonderful job on all of my bridesmaids, too, and everything went smoothly and right on schedule as planned. Her makeup photographs beautifully--I am still getting compliments on my makeup from both our e-pics and wedding pics. I went into all of this never having had a facial and never having used makeup brushes, and Sonia didn't care. She doesn't discriminate if you're not a girly-girl and you only wear Maybelline and Almay makeup. I also took one of her brush classes, and it was a blast. Since my wedding, I've used Sonia's services many more times (facials, make-up classes, special occasion makeup, and she also did the makeup for a wedding in which I was a bridesmaid). She knows her stuff and she will make you look like a model version of yourself -- still like yourself, but goooooorgeous, and in my opinion, this is how you want to look on your wedding day. I worked with Cherie from Sonia Roselli for my wedding makeup, and she. was. AMAZING. Right off the bat when I started talking with them, Bridgit was quick to respond to my emails. She was very sweet and incredibly professional (which is not always the case in this industry I found out!). I sent her some pictures of what I was looking for, and she paired me with Cherie... what a match made in heaven. I walked into my trial and vaguely described what I wanted in my makeup, and Cherie got started right away. When she was done.. wow. she NAILED it. I am making a review about the website and the lack of professionalism in their customer service. I think that Sonia has some of the best skin care on the market, is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? I think so. During this years Black Friday sale, I was sent a link from a makeup artist that Sonia was having discounts on some of her products. Being a fan I went to the website and put some stuff in my cart, I was having issues with my paypal and could not pay that day but since the sale didn't seem to have a ending deadline and it was the Tuesday before Black Friday, I didn't think it would be an issue. I ended up getting an email the next day, you know, the ones that say, "Hey you left this in your cart, please come back and buy this!" So I did. It was not even 4 hours after I received that email that the prices had changed when I went to purchase. I understand if a sale ends and I missed it, however that is not what happened. The "original price" of certain items had mysteriously gone up over night. So while the website was still advertising things at 40% off they really weren't because they had raised the "original price" I don't have a problem paying the money for the products but I do have a problem with false advertising and lying to customers. If you don't want o sell your products at 40% off, then don't. I sent an email about the confusion and never received a response until I sent a follow up email asking if I would get a response, again I understand. It is holiday season and it can get pretty busy, but it had been a week. I got a response barely an hour later that was very courteous and said they would look at my order. and then at the bottom with a little star claiming all prices could change at any time, very convenient. So I sent my order details, how in the email they sent me with the prices quoted was different than what I paid because of the increase in price. How I was disappointed in the company for being shady and changing prices over a few dollars. No response. For a whole week. It was not till I emailed them again asking for a response that I got a quick email saying they would just give me a refund for the price difference. They did not address any of the issues I brought up in my email. I really just wanted to point out that it is better to explain things to your customer base, than to try and shoo them away. I said in my previous emails that I did not care about the money I cared about the lying. I wish Sonia Roselli's customer service matched the quality of her products because they are truly amazing and I will continue to purchase. read more

My entire experience with them was delightful, from my first inquiries with Bridget to my hair with Jackie and make-up with Diana. They are true artists, and are very professional, prompt, and generally lovely people to spend the morning of your wedding with. I have never really known how to do my makeup. I could put on a little foundation and mascara, but beyond that, I had no idea what I was doing. After getting my makeup professionally done, I realized how much better I could look with good makeup. After a lot of googling and emailing around, I decided to do a private makeup lesson with Sonia. Sonia's studio is conveniently located near the red line. The space itself is so pretty - lots of natural light. Sonia was so nice. We sat down and discussed my (lack) of makeup knowledge. I told her I wanted to learn how to do a smokey eye look. I did all of the application myself as Sonia patiently instructed and corrected. I really liked this approach as just observing someone put makeup on really doesn't help me at all. The final look was so pretty. Sonia provided me with a sheet of paper detailing everything we'd done. She also provided some recommendations. While I received NO pressure to buy any of her products, I did by a few that I knew would be more difficult to find at Sephora or Ulta. Sonia's lesson gave me confidence in doing my own makeup. I've been to a few weddings this spring, and was able to do all of my makeup...and, for the first time, I think I did a really good job! I can't thank Sonia enough for her help! read more

I loved my makeup artist Sana and she made me look gorgeous on my wedding day. Sana gets FIVE STARS for her talent, professionalism and her general calmness on the day of the wedding. If she goes independent and you can book her outside of Sonia Roselli, you would not be disappointed! I highly recommend her airbrush makeup; it lasted all day and night, it made my skin glow and was totally water/sweatproof. Sana's management company Sonia Roselli company can be difficult. Sonia Roselli company requires the bride and at least three attendants in order to secure on-location makeup services in Chicago. I researched independent makeup artists, but ultimately Sana had the best portfolio. I live in NYC and was only available for a trial on specific dates. I told the office manager this but she was insistent that I work around their schedule. I ended up juggling my appointments in order to accommodate Sonia Roselli company's availability, which is not the best customer service. read more

Sonia was booked for my wedding day, so she hooked me up with her partner, Andie Cumber. Let me tell you, she is one talented lady! She did makeup for myself and 3 bridesmaids, and everyone looked incredible. She's extremely personable, which helps when someone spends so much time being inches from your face. I took off one star because in all honesty, I liked my makeup better at the trial. I wasn't disappointed on my wedding day though. I'm always so critical of how I look in photos, but I'm amazed when I look at my wedding photos. My face looked beautiful! With Sonia's boutique in Rogers Park, I finally feel like I have everything at my fingertips. No longer do I have to get on the Red Line to seek out a salon for waxing and facials! The boutique itself is Parisian-like, and is decorated in soft pinks and black stencil images, radiating a feeling of girlish adultness. And Sonia doesn't just rock at wedding make-up, she just plain rocks! Funny, talkative and just as interested in you as she is in providing great service. So I used this makeup studio ago for my wedding. They recommend a practice session which you pay for, to see what your make up will look like on your wedding. It is expensive (I think) but for your wedding, I guess that's to be expected. Here are my thoughts on my experience: I thought the make up looked great. I took pictures of the look I wanted and I feel like that was actually replicated pretty well--I looked beautiful (in my opinion!) on the day of my wedding and my make up lasted all day, which is amazing! I did buy the powder, lipstick and lip gloss for touch ups during the day and I'm glad I did that. Ok, the cons: first of all, when I got my pictures back, there is a beautiful close-up of my face with the make up artist applying make up to my face. Her hand is in the picture. Her nails in the photo look horrible! Chipping nail polish. Kind of annoying. You would think it would be kind of common sense to make sure you look good in case you are in the wedding pictures for the day; I would never have thought to ask for her to make sure her nails were either wiped or done ahead of time (either would have been fine). So tacky and cheap looking. Second of all, the morning of my wedding, I got a phone call from the make up artist that she was running late. Because she was DOUBLE BOOKED for another wedding in Chicago! My wedding location was out in Schaumburg. This was actually the one thing that I was really upset by during my entire wedding day. Everything else was fine, except my make up artist was over 45 minutes late when all was said and done. I was so stressed out that morning. For any woman who spends up to a year or more planning this one day, you know that your schedule is TIGHT. I can understand if something happens the morning of, but double-booking two events without leaving enough time in between is unacceptable to me. Also when she did finally get there, she barely acknowledged what happened as if it was no big deal. She made it sound like there was enough leeway in my schedule and that it shouldn't have been a problem. Sorry, but that was not for her to decide. I complained later to Sonia and received a phone call about it but again, no acknowledgement that this was a problem, but more like excuses that it shouldn't have been a big deal. Anyway, like I said I was happy about how my make up turned out, but when you're paying a premium for service (and believe me, this is definitely one of the higher priced make up studios) you expect a little better service. read more

I used Jen from Sonia's studio for in-studio make up on my wedding day. I think I looked great & I believe that my bridesmaids were all happy as well, and Jen was nice to work with. Nothing remarkably memorable happened, which is exactly what I would have liked. Low-key & efficient. Everyone commented on the insane-ness (in a good way!) of my lashes. Loved every second of that. Susan, the studio manager, was very accomodating and informed us to bring in food, drink, etc. and make ourselves at home. We did and it was great! My only "issue" (and it's not really an issue) is that some airbrush foundation ended up on one of my favorite hoodies that I was wearing that day. :-( It didn't come out. I know--you probably shouldn't wear something you mid getting messed up when you get your make up done, but I wanted to look good in the "getting ready" photos. So, I'm not a very fancy person, I don't have a job with an important-souding title. I don't drop a lot of money when I go to restaurants or bars, I'm not a high roller. After some scheduling snafus (its easier to call instead of email, but I am stubborn), I finally got hooked up with Jo, and she is just about the sweetest person ever. She totally nailed my makeup, for real, and I booked her on the spot. I also booked Amy, the hairstylist that Sonia and the crew recommended, and she is amazzzzinnngggg. I am very particular about my hair, and it was PERFECT. I'm really excited for to see them again for the real deal, and am confident that all the bridesmaids will love them too. Sonia was a rockstar doing my makeup plus 5 other bridesmaids & relatives onsite for my wedding on NYE. Given the harsh weather conditions, my makeup held up great and usually my makeup smudges - even as I'm crying during my ceremony my makeup still held up! Sonia is worth every penny and was extremely accommodating when I had to add extra time to our original contract. Everyone paid me such lovely compliments on how good I looked (they were used to seeing me sans makeup). I was lucky enough to book Sonia Roselli (Rebecca for makeup and Claudia for hair) for my wedding this past Memorial Day weekend. I initially made contact around the holidays, between Christmas and New Year's. Although the studio was closed, I received a reply via email from Sonia herself, explaining the services and answering my questions. She even sent me several images of hairstyles and makeup that she thought matched what I was looking for and recommend which artists would work best with my style. Although Sonia was already booked, I worked with Susan to arrange a hair and makeup trial in early January. Susan is so friendly and accommodating, she was able to schedule a time to meet before I left for my 2 week vacation. I met Rebecca and Claudia at the trial. Both of them took the time to listen to what I envisioned and asked questions about my personal style and what I was comfortable with. I really loved the makeup that Rebecca chose and the hairstyle that Claudia created at the trial. I also didn't feel any pressure to book, but I booked them that day because I really looked forward to working with them and I was afraid they would be booked by the time I returned from vacation! On the wedding day, both Rebecca and Claudia arrived on time, if not early (to avoid the Memorial Day traffic). The morning went on without a hitch. The makeup was just as beautiful as at the trial. In the interim, I bought a headpiece and Claudia was able to incorporate it beautifully into my hair. I really felt special! Everything looked natural and classic. They made all of the important women in my life - my maid of honor, my mom, and my mother-in-law, even more beautiful than they already were. Sonia is a rock star. She is a professional and excels at what she does. I would recommend any bride to check her out for their makeup. I used Sonia for my wedding this past July and was happy with the overall service. I wanted fresh and natural so that I would still look like myself... only a bit more polished and with a look that could withstand a hot summer day in Chicago and Sonia executed the look with perfection. She also did the makeup for my mom and sisters; everyone loved her and the fresh look that she gave them. My mom has never worn makeup and was a little nervous that she wouldn't like it... she loved it and she is a tough crowd. I will agree that Sonia's makeup services are a bit pricy. This was a splurge for me and it was definitely worth it. So if I was happy with her service why only 4 stars? While I looked fantastic; it wasn't the look we discussed at my preview.... and I was a little taken back when she asked me "what are we doing today" rather than having notes from the preview and simply confirming that it was still what I wanted. And time was not of the essence for her so we were quite behind with the makeup... so thus only 4 stars. I recommend Sonia Roselli for wedding day makeup. She is a makeup artist rock star. read more

For my wedding 2 wks ago Sonia made me, my mom & sister look so beautiful. My mom in particular looked so pretty - she kept looking at herself in the mirror, commenting on how great she looked - her eyes just popped! Now she wants all of Sonia's products...especially the gel liner - it lasts and lasts. She made my mom a pretty lip gloss, too, to carry throughout the day. All of our make-up looked natural, yet just a "bit more" to make the best features pop. Sonia also airbrushed my neck & chest to make everything even with my strapless dress. Sonia is so much fun - really down to earth and her humor puts your wedding day nerves to rest :) We had a blast with her. Can't wait for Esthetique to open!! read more

I had a special event recently and Sonia and Beth did a fabulous job 'dolling me up' and turning me into Cinderella! I rarely have my make up professionally done so at first I was feeling out of my element, but they both helped me feel relaxed and comfortable immediately! They are extremely friendly and easy-going but most of all they REALLY listen to you and your requests. When we were discussing make up options, I told them what I wanted and I got exactly that-- an elegant look, a few steps above natural with that 'blushing bride' glow. I didn't want an overdone, heavy make up job that would have people confuse me as a drag queen! Sonia and Beth did an AWESOME job. And I must also rave about the eyelashes Beth applied! Each individual lash she placed steadily, carefully and evenly. They looked amazing and I got tons of compliments on them as well ! :) Sonia is also rocks in the photography department! After the makeup session she took a few shots of me. She really knows her stuff!! She was patient with me and gave great direction! Sonia is awesome! I walked in as a blank canvass for the flawless face class. She was careful to explain everything and took care in finding the perfect shade for me. Before we begin she asked about needs upfront (both in terms of use, price point, etc.) and made recommendations throughout the class accordingly. When I goofed on techniques she walked me through the process. I learned a lot about application techniques and found it wonderful to have her walk with me through the fundamentals. Sonia Roselli is the real deal -- a world-class makeup artist, esthetician, and beauty product designer. It is unreal that she's right here in Chicago, and available to consult with and teach regular people like me! I had booked Sonia as my wedding makeup artist back in 2006, after she had done makeup for my friend's wedding and I actually gasped aloud upon seeing how beautiful she looked. I had a trial with Sonia, but didn't end up using her because I moved my wedding to Hawaii. Now my best friend is getting married, and I treated her and myself to a makeup lesson with Sonia, so we could look our best for all the showers and parties coming up in my friend's honor. I expected the class to be about an hour, but Sonia spent nearly three times as long with us, walking us through everything from skin care (her secret weapon in creating beautiful faces) to brush technique to color and product selection. I know a fair to moderate amount about how to apply makeup, but I learned SO MUCH -- so much more than I expected to learn, and so much more than I even knew there was to learn! During the course of the lesson, Sonia had talked a bit about her work in developing her own products, mentioning, for example, traveling to Italy and Paris to meet with head beauty product designers to learn about formulating products, and how most products out there today have more fillers than pigment, which is why products don't have staying power, and how hard she worked to formulate her own products. It sort of went in one ear and out the other, but I did end up buying quite a bit of Sonia's products, because they were priced comparably to what you find at a beauty counter, and she had selected the colors for me. Now that I am home and using them, I am so, so impressed with the quality, and I can see exactly what Sonia meant about the extra steps she took to ensure her product quality. You can put the tiniest bit of product on your finger and dab it on your skin, and the color is rich and full, and it blends SO easily and well. No rubbing or smearing, dragging your skin to get the product to move. It's effortless, and it STAYS ON. Honestly, it is a matter of time before Sonia and her products are in the mass market. RUN, do not walk, to her studio, and treat yourself to a lesson with a real pro, before she's too big and important to spend time with regular people. It is the best money I've spent in a long time! I took a makeup class Sonia's boutique offered. I paid to have one of her assistants do the "class" (it was a one-on-one class) but Sonia did it herself. Included with the cost of the class was a set of her brushes that she personally hand picked for her boutique. I wish I had booked her for my wedding day makeup, but at least I know a makeup artist who is very talented and someone I can count on for an amazing look. read more

This review is long overdue. I had my wedding on Oct 2012. My hair and makeup were done by Korena and Jessica. They did an awesome job! I loved how I look and how I felt that day! I asked Korena for big hair and she delivered. I kinda wish I asked for tighter curls 'cause by the end of the day I didn't have any. I loved my makeup too! I looked really nice if I may say so myself haha! I wish they could have given me a free small lipstick so I can touch up when needed. I thought that was included in the package but apparently not. Sonia's services are definitely expensive. I couldn't, in good conscience, book her services. The fees for her associates were expensive enough already and I felt bad asking my BMs to shell out that much but I think they liked how they look and felt that day. I had never gotten my make-up done professionally before my wedding, so when I started looking for people, I did not know what to expect. I also do not wear a ton of make-up in general, so I didn't want my make-up to look overdone or crazy on the day of my wedding. I booked a trial appointment with a make-up artist through another company, and I didn't feel like myself. The make-up was too heavy and there was so much caked on my face that I was embarrassed to be seen. Then I booked a trial appointment with Rebecca, an associate of Sonia's, and was so pleased with the results. Rebecca really listened to what I wanted and made sure that I was happy when she was done. I liked the make-up so much that I recommended her to all of the women in my bridal party. She ended up working with me, my mom, my man's mom, and four other women on the morning of our wedding and she did a fantastic job with all of us! Everybody was pleased with their make-up and I cannot tell you how many compliments I received on the day of the wedding. The pictures were another wonderful thing - Rebecca recommended that she apply a little more blush than I was used to for pictures, and she was absolutely right. Not only did I feel beautiful on the day of my wedding, but my pictures turned out so well. I hired Brandon with Sonia Roselli from a rec from a friend for my wedding. I went to get a trial and he gave me the smokey eye I requested. I got home and the finance (now hubby) HATED my makeup. He thought it was too much and I looked like a raccoon. Not exactly the reaction I was hoping to get. I freaked out and Beth calmed me down and said Brandon could tone it down for my wedding day. I wish I could have gone back in for a mini-trial of just my eyes, but I didn't want to pay anymore since its so expensive. The day of- I explained my issues with Brandon and he was able to create a beautiful bridal look for me. It was muggy the day of my wedding and we took all our pictures before the ceremony. When I first learned that Sonia was opening a shop in Rogers Park, I sent her a quick note on Yelp wishing her luck. Since then, we have exchanged several messages, and I kept meaning to stop in to say hello, but kept putting it off for some dumb reason or another. Tonight, I finally stopped in to say hello, and for a quick touch up waxing of the brows. Sonia, who I had not previously met, greeted me with a big hug as soon as I told her who I was. She immediately took me back to a treatment room, had me hop up on the table, and started working on my brows. I got a great lecture about leaving the tweezers in the medicine cabinet, because I've been over-plucking, but Sonia assured me that I'd have perfect brows in four weeks, once I let them grow in a bit. I've had bad experiences with brow waxing in the past, and am always worried to try a new place. Sonia instantly put me at ease, and did an amazing job on my brows. She immediately recognized that my skin is fairly sensitive and turns bright red, so she did her best to minimize the stress to my skin, and applied several different calming, cooling lotions immediately following the tweezing. I can't believe I've waited so long to meet Sonia, and will definitely be back in four weeks for another touch up. I may even be so bold as to try a facial next time! read more

She did my wedding makeup on 7/11/09 and it was AWESOME! She is a doll also. She also did my mom's wedding makeup and WOW -- my mom looked HOT. Sonia made my mom up like she looked on her wedding day -- fake eyelashes, thick black eyeliner... all very classic and it looked GREAT! Keep in mind, my mom doesn't really wear makeup anymore and if I try to even put a little on my mom she says "that's too much." So Sonia scored a big accomplishment in being able to make my mom feel totally comfortable and look oh-so-sexy. Sonia also honors her commitments no matter what. Her grandpa had died the week of my wedding and she had to miss the funeral to be at my wedding... but she did it because she told me that's just how she is... she honors her commitments and knows that a wedding is a big deal to a bride. (By the way, she never mentioned anything about this... I had to pry it out of her! I noticed she seemed not quite as bubbly as normal and so I got it out of her. She wasn't about to make the focus of "my" day her loss... I didn't care, but I thought it was touching that she was trying to hide her sadness.) Ok, Sonia rocks. I could go on and on about Sonia. She is simply an amazing make up artist and an amazing person. Her customers are so loyal because she truly cares. I have used her services for facials, make up classes, eyebrow waxes, custom lip glosses, etc. She is top notch with all of them. She was unfortunately booked for my August 2009 wedding, but her associate Jo did my makeup. She made me look like a rockstar, and would recommend her services to anyone. It's been over a year since Sonia did my wedding makeup in June 2008, and I've been dying to stop by and see her place. I signed up for her brush set and makeup class, and it was so much fun! My appointment was with Jo, but Sonia was there as well. The two of them are so helpful and sweet! I learned so much and I would recommend the class to anyone! They went into great detail about which brushes to use for different types of products and why, and also shared application techniques specifically for my features. I got so many compliments on my wedding day look. People still ask me about her and I will continue to recommend her, and now Jo, to every bride! I also plan on bringing my girlfriends to the storefront for the lipgloss bar. Highly recommended! read more
