Once my sister got engaged, we knew we had our work cut out for us in getting all the planning done. One item on the list, find someone to do our makeup. My sister came across Laura's name, and we had our first makeup trial scheduled....which also ended up being our last! My sister went first (I guess it made sense since she was going to be the bride, haha). My jaw dropped when I saw the end result! Laura had done such an amazing job. The look was just natural enough, but still a little dramatic to give her that special look for her wedding. She chose the prefect colors to compliment my sister and used airbrush foundation; my sister looked flawless! I was next, and let me just say I was just as surprised with my end result! I loved the way she had the colors blend together for my eyeshadow, and she even found a great lip color for me (I NEVER am able to find a lip color I like, but Laura has an eye for these things)! All in all, our experience was so great, and we loved how we looked, that we had no problem booking Laura for the wedding. Besides being so impressed with how we looked, let me just say we were equally as impressed with Laura herself! She is super friendly and patient with you if you decide you want to change something. She makes you feel super comfortable the whole time. Also, we finally got the pictures from the wedding, and all we can say is WOW! The makeup photographed so well! The airbrush foundation really gave us a flawless look, our eyes popped, and everything looked great even until the end of the night! I was trying to save money on my makeup for my September wedding, so I booked a cheap salon trial...but, by the time I arrived at the reception of my friend's wedding, my mascara had run down my face and the makeup was pretty much gone. Not something I wanted to deal with on my own wedding... I then tried a trial with Laura Black and was thrilled. The airbrush stays on MUCH longer and really helps achieve the flawless look. I actually had two trials b/c I changed my mind during the summer months when I got a little more tan, and she came to my house a second time to help figure out which look I wanted. Laura is very easy to work with - she's relaxed and patient and really listens to what you are saying. On the morning of the wedding, she was right on time and set up shop at my parents house. My mom got her makeup done for the first time and she looked amazing! Really, I've never seen her look so pretty! My sisters and bridesmaids also loved it - it was a really nice treat to feel pampered and gorgeous on such a big day. Laura is so great to work with - she fit right in and it never felt like we had a stuffy professional at our house - just a good friend coming to spend the morning with us and help us look amazing. I got married in IL. in late August, and my only regret is that I don't need my makeup done professionally more often! It was an absolute joy working with Laura Black. From the moment I contacted her by phone, I knew I wanted her to do my wedding face. Laura was wonderful in person, too. Not only did she accommodate my hectic schedule, but when I met her for my trial, she was easy to talk to and she listened to my ideas about my makeup. I could not believe the transformation that occurred in that hour! Laura was very punctual and having her come to the hotel to apply makeup for the two maids, the two moms, and the bride worked beautifully. Laura made this a smooth process, and we all agreed that each person who left the chair looked better than the last. The false eyelashes were a GIGANTIC hit and really made an impact in the pictures! Laura is so skillful with her makeup application that my oily, large-pored skin looked smooth and natural from the second she applied it until I turned into a pumpkin at midnight. And not only did the pictures come out great--but the makeup also FELT nice on my skin, which I really appreciated. I was also happily surprised that my wedding day makeup looked even better than the trial. I think she picked a slightly different lip color for the day of, and it complemented my skin perfectly. I booked Laura Black for my wedding day make-up. It was one of the best decisions that I had made for that day. Prior to the wedding, I had a make-up trial at her studio. Not only did she take the time to listen to what I envisioned, but after trying some things she asked how everything looked to me. I have NEVER had someone apply make-up and then ask me if I thought it was ok. They always just seem to assume that they are a make-up god(dess). The day of it was so nice to have her on-site. She is fun to talk to, relaxed, and does an amazing job. There were five us getting make-up done that day of varying complexions and ages and she had all the tools to make everyone look even more beautiful. The few pictures that I've seen have made me even more grateful for using her because I would have looked like a ghost had I done the make-up myself. Laura is an incredible makeup artist. She did makeup on myself, my mom and my bridesmaids for my wedding. I was sold on her after my make-up trial - I felt really comfortable around her (which is definitely what you need when you are a bundle of nerves on your wedding day), she listened to what I wanted but offered her expertise, and she made sure I was happy with the results. She was especially patient with me after the trial when I barraged her with emails asking further questions. Plus her prices were totally reasonable and she didn't have any hidden travel or kit fees. I was so happy with how everyone looked, especially my mom who has never looked better. She did an amazing job on everyone, and she even pleased my super picky friends. Here it is: I call Laura my secret weapon. While I wasnt getting married, I really wanted to get my makeup done for a charity ball i was going to. I cannot express what a great job Laura did with my makeup. I receieved numerous compliments from friends on my makeup and I was also stopped by strangers asking what makeup I used to get my skin so even. Laura did my makeup and my bridal party's makeup for my wedding. She did such an outstanding job on all of us. We all had different skin tones and for all of us she got the makeup just right !!! She knows what colors to use and adjusts based on your complexion, eye and hair color. If you have problematic skin that is acne prone or has been scarred by acne you'll still look great once Laura is done with you. That was the case for a number of us. The extra bonus you'll get with Laura is a funny outgoing personality combined with the utmost professionalism. The little touch up makeup bag she gives you to help keep you beautiful all night is something I really valued. Working with Laura for my October 2010 wedding was a wonderful experience. She was extremely accommodating and attentive throughout the entire process, even providing another trial run closer to the date of the wedding as I had secured her a year in advance. Laura has a wonderful personality and was simply fun to have as part of the group. I booked Laura for my sons wedding as a gift to my daughter-in-law as she was going to marrying my sonand though a natural beauty she is not very good when it comes to applying makeup to enhance what god has given her . I also had her do my own makeup as well as the brides mom, and my daughter and the Maid of Honor. The bride was a bit nervous so we even set up a trial run. Though my daughter in law is beautiful without the make-up she truly looked like she belonged in a bridal magazine. Absolutely breathetaking and we have the photos to prove it. Laura did my makeup for my wedding as well as both moms and my maid of honor. I thought everyone looked wonderful, and we all received many compliments. She was very nice and easy to talk to for both the trial and on my wedding day. I have never had my makeup done before, and don't wear a lot of makeup regularly, so it was nice to have someone who made me feel comfortable.
