I'm not sure where I should start! The owner of the business is extremely unprofessional, unsanitary, and very dishonest. I did a walk in consultation with the owner Shayla, two weeks prior from my appointment. I informed her I have PCOS, I need my face to be waxed. We have a quick conversations and understanding of what service I need upon the next appointment--She quoted me $25. Fast forward on 4/2/2026. The appointment was going well, another client walked in for an eyebrow appointment. The owner quickly assisted her, which was fine. Shortly afterwards, assisted me with my service. She began to put my powder on my face and used my shoulder as a napkin to dust off the excess powder from her hands(why in the world what you do that to a paying customer] -- unprofessional. Then I seen her use the same gloves to wax my face, and she use some type of substance from a bottle and rubbed it on her hands and continued my waxing on my face-- unsanitary. Now mind you she quoted me $25.02 weeks prior with a consultation, I get to the register and she tells me now the price is $62- dishonest(liar]. Why did she not think to inform me this information when I was in her chair. Now I understand that I got waxing and threading, however, where is the communication. However, I will say she did a great job, but as a paying customer who works hard for their money, I will never in my life return back to this funky place. The owner is very cunning. read more

This place is conveniently located by the western blue line stop and is very clean with standard prices I've seen at other threading places. My eyebrows look fine and the pain is about the same at other places. The one thing I didn't like was that the lady was making comments on the state of my skin and how I should get xyz facial. This place is close to my house and had really good reviews so I decided to check it out. I was able to schedule an appointment pretty easily by calling the phone number attached to the business. Currently they're only open I believe Thursday Friday and Saturday's. I had a Thursday appointment at 1 PM to get my eyebrows done I was out within 10 minutes. I also had a pedicure appointment around the corner but next time I'll go ahead and just get a pedicure here as this place at plenty of spa quality tools chairs and nail equipment. I've only ever come for no chip - but I've never had a problem. Staff has always been friendly , my no chip has always come out good - they have a great policy where they'll fix the no chip within the first 7 days if anything goes wrong . My no chip typically always lasts the 2 weeks that's expected and I've never had to go in to get it fixed. read more

I've been going to this place off and on for over a year now. This place is conveniently located near the Western Blue Line stop, and on Milwaukee Ave. As of the time of this review, there is a lot of road construction going on near this salon, so parking might be a little harder than usual. I've only tried the eyebrow threading, but I've almost always been 100% satisfied with the results. The ladies do a great job with both sculpting and cleaning up eyebrows. The $9 price tag seems reasonable, and I would consider trying other services here since the salon appears very clean. read more

I was very happy with my henna. I called at 10:30 and said I could come in 12:10. Waited only 5 min. She did both hands in about 13 min. She had 2 other women walk in so the 2nd hand seemed a little rushed but still good. Sat to dry for about 20 min (I had to go). It was $30. I definitely really like it, but I was surprised it started flaking off so soon when you're told to leave it on overnight for best results. It did not last past 3 hours. My left hand is a little lighter than the right and my fingers are darker than the rest, but that's because those did not flake off as easy and were on longer. I really liked the woman who did it, she was kind, made sure I was happy with the design. I'm not sure if the flaking is normal of if it was the type of henna, but we will see how long this lasts! I'll definitely come back again, maybe I just needed to stay longer to dry, I'll try that next time! read more

Wonderful salon and the staff are the kindest. I've never had an issue scheduling an appointment...even last minute. It's conveniently located off the Western Blue Line stop so that's an awesome bonus! My only reason for taking a star off is the gel manicure never has lasted for me. Within a week most of my nails have peeled off and I don't partake in any activities that would be rough on my hands...so it's odd they always fall off. Luckily -- they have a 7 day policy, which allows you to come back and have them fixed if anything does happen. Lastly, they always slaaaaay my eyebrows and it's so cheap! This place is my go to for a no chip mani when I need to have nice looking nails. It's not much of a 'salon' experience in terms of ambiance. So why the 5 stars? Every single time I've gotten a no chip, it's lasted around 3 weeks easily, and I never fail to get compliments on my nails. The only reason why I need to remove the color is due to nail growth. I even do all the no-nos like washing dishes, gardening, arts & crafts, etc. without damage to the nails. The techs are fast, and thorough. I also personally like that I can sit in silence while my nails get done. Big plus- the salon is really easy to get to because it's right off the Western Blue line station. read more

Absolutely disgusting and unsanitary. Not only did she not prep my skin for a wax at all, towards the end of my wax i noticed she had been using the SAME stick throughout the entire wax!! Dipping the stick back into the wax after touching my skin with it. Which means shes done this with who knows how many other people! I was in shock and didn't even know how to react. THIS SPREADS DISEASES. I would never ever go here again. I'm mad at myself for not walking out and saying something the second I noticed it. DO NOT GO HERE! She also uses the cheap wax sold at Sally's that doesn't require any type of licensure to purchase. She does not prep the skin or clean it at all- just goes straight to waxing which irritates the skin and leaves you with worse results. Me and my wife have been coming here since few months now. I always find this place to be the most welcoming and friendly location in bucktown . I always get my back waxing from either milanie or nadia , both of them are equally professional and quick and easy. I moved to the city in August so I needed to find a new spot to get my brows threaded. I am always skeptical of trying new places, but I saw it was really close to my house and had good reviews. I have had nothing but success here. I've been 4 times now, each time having a different person. Walk-ins are welcome so I only made an appointment 1 of those 4 times. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes. The women who work there are very friendly and sociable. This place is cheap as well. I pay $14 for lip and eyebrow threading (before tip), and was used to paying twice that much to my former esthetician. I have not used their mani/pedi services yet. They have 3 stations for manicures I believe, and 2 for pedicures. The women who I have seen there utilizing those services seem like regular, happy customers. If you are looking for a larger salon, this place is not it. There are also only 2 chairs for customers who may be waiting. I prefer smaller settings such as this one, but you never know what you might get so just be aware. I love this place and will continue to go here every month, so I highly recommend it! read more

I have been coming to this salon for awhile for eyebrow and upper lip threading. They recently changed ownership and names, but I still go here! Sheila is the woman I see all the time, and I think she might currently be the sole employee? She does an AWESOME job on eyebrow shaping! She is so nice and sweet! Pricing is very reasonable, and she recently convinced me my face needs more love! I went in for a facial, and it felt so good. I was literally glowing when I left. It was very relaxing, and I even got a whole upper back/decollete area done as part of the facial. I do admit, the florescent lighting in the massage/facial room is a little offputting at first, but she does turn off the lights, and lets you relax while getting your face loved on. I absolutely would go back for a facial. She is my regular for eyebrows and upper lip, and I would defintely try out the henna tattoos for summer! read more

Ok...so I ended up here because there was a flash sale on www.lifebooker.com/referral/sleopold22 Its really a 3.5 but with the cheap ass price...I couldnt resist. They were offering $15 facials, no chip mani, pedis, etc. I couldnt pass it up. So its right by the blue line and there is easy metered parking and side street free parking that can be a little tricky because some of the random streets are permit only. The salon...its definitely a no frills salon. I saw their board for daily specials. It looks like every day they have great deals. $22 no chip, $8 threading, etc...nice...very nice. Two sisters opened up the salon....Huma and I didnt catch the other girls name. Both were nice, one was overly chatty but super cute and helpful. She did the pedi. Good job, great foot massage! There are no massage chairs though and the actual station is a little awkward, however, its definitely worth it. They also have a decent selection of colors...40ish. I peeked at the no chip colors and they have a decent range also...about 20 or so. The facial is in the room right next door to the pedi station. Its pretty bare. Also, they have a nice table, however, I would have liked a heating pad or something because it was chilly in there. Also, I went with a friend so they did my pedi first so I had to be careful not to smudge my nails when I laid down. They had a robe, which was nice. The room didnt have any music or soothing anything...which would have been nice because you can hear everything....what do you expect for $15. However, I think they could easily remedy this with a little spa music to drown out the background noises of the pedi station and the other building people. Huma did a really good facial massage and let me know what she was putting on my face...however, there was no skin analysis and I felt that they probably just used the same products for everyone. This may be problematic for some people. It was a standard cleaning, scrubbing, steaming, extracting, mask, protect facial. I do have to say....she used some sort of instrument to extract. It HURT like HELL! Now, I have been getting facials for about 3 years consistently...I have never had a tear come to my eye during extractions until now....YOW~! It really was painful, and I wasnt expecting it. Most places squeeze out the extractions...not here. It felt like I was a block of cheese and she was scraping off everything. I do not know what she was using, BUT it was really painful. I had to have her stop twice because it was so bad. Also, she only did this in the creases of my nostrils...which to her defense, I do have some blackheads, but maybe brace me for the pain or something. She didnt do any extractions anywhere else. Also, they do not have the special light and magnifying thing so she just turned on the overhead light and went to town on my nostrils. HOWEVER, I will say...I think that its as clean as I have seen it in a really long time. I guess beauty is pain... Overall, the facial was good. For the price, it was definitely worth it. For someone that likes all the bells and whistles of a 'spa' this is NOT the place for you. If you are looking for something pretty good and on the CHEAP, check it out. Its $15...think of all the things you waste $15 on... I would go back for nails, possibly for a facial (only on the cheap) and I would check out the threading.... read more

Shamela is a true professional; she tamed my crazy eyebrow (yep, one is crazy, the other behaves), gave me some great skin advice, and is always quick. I've never waited more than 10 min to be seen. So I'm back to threading my brows since this has always been my preferred way of getting my eyebrows done. It stays longer and compliments the arched shape of it best. I finally found this place near by and I couldn't be happier. The salon was clean and the threading was so quick that I was done in minutes! And my skin turned slightly pink but that was it. It did not burn or sting or turn a deep red like it always does when I have unwanted hair removed. A truly amazing experience and I will be going back as a regular now. The 4 stars is only because I don't know the name of the girl who did my eyebrows sadly, I was the first customer at the shop and I was out in less than 5 minutes. It was all too quick and she didn't really talk or respond to my conversations which was a bummer. But oh well! I'm very happy about my brows. read more

I work down the street from Huma Salon and just recently tried it. I can say they are my mani-pedi place to go now. The girls are so sweet! Awesome costumer service. I'm really picky about my manicures being done right(all cuticles gone), not rushed and my nail polish last. It's been two weeks and I still have an almost perfect polish! My nails are still nicely shaped, which is rare since I work with my hands. I'm really happy with this place :) read more
