Selis Eyebrows is my new go-to salon for eyebrow threading…read more Prior to switching over to Selis Eyebrows, I frequented a place further South but when I moved further North I needed to find a place closer to me. Like most Yelpers I checked out a few places in the area before finally coming across Selis Eyebrows. The brow technician that I met during my first visit is what made them stand out from the rest. Anytime I visit a new brow salon I bring a reference photo of my favorite brows. I show them so they can visualize how I like my brows. This may seem extreme but I do not have much luck with salons that have rotating technicians. I have a shaved head so having messed up brows impacts my face even more. The technician I encountered was so sweet and understanding. She assured me that all of the salon technicians focus on cleaning up the brows during your first visit. They like to follow your natural brow line unless you state you want something in particular. She made me feel at ease and I loved the end result. Since I waited a longer period of time to visit my brows were more messy which typically hurts more but she was gentle. I took a long time grow out my eyebrow tips from the years of waxing and trying to force myself to have an arched brow. During my visit she didn't default to making my brows thin and kept them fuller which is my preference. The inside of the salon is spacious and always clean. Every time I've visited there wasn't too much of a line. I normally visit on the weekdays not around their peak hours. They do offer appointments if you are pressed for time and don't want to wait. I hope Selis Salon stays in the area for a long time because they are top notch.

About a month ago, I had a technician do my Brazilian wax, she was extremely unprofessional and didn't know what she was doing. I'm a nursing student and have friends who are licensed estheticians so I know the basics of proper hygiene when it comes to these services. This lady was double dipping the wax and switching between hard wax and soft wax. This is extremely unhygienic and poses a threat for an infection. Not only that, but she kept waxing over the same spots because she didn't properly prep the area and she burned and irritated my skin. She also didn't get all the hair in my bikini area. She body shamed me and told me it was my fault for having "a lot of hair" but isn't it your job as a wax specialist considering you offer WAX services? I'm confused? During the wax appointment she had another girl stand in the room with me and made me extremely uncomfortable, didn't even ask for permission or my consent. I reached out to the owner and she basically mentioned I can come back for a free wax. I came in today to request that free wax that the owner and she called me a liar. She never told me I needed to come back in 3-7 days considering I explained the situation, but how can I come back so soon when your technician left me with irritated skin from waxing over the same area more than twice? She yelled at me to get out of her salon today because I came in for a service that she mentioned I would be able to received due to the unprofessionalism from her technician. I'm extremely disappointed in your customer service and how RUDE the owner was. I DO NOT recommend this place, it's cheap for a reason so thank you for your horrible etiquette. You need to clean your salon too, it's disgusting and your attitude is disgusting
