MUNA IS THE BEST!! I came here for the first time to get a full face threading and underarm waxing. Muna really took her time with my face and made sure I was okay throughout. I've gotten full face threadings in various places before, but this was the most thorough and "clean" I've ever felt! Muna even ended it with a face massage and some aloe after!! How amazing! I was so pleased with how my eyebrows turned out. I've gotten lots of compliments too! I also got my underarm waxed, and it was quick and painless. I had such a great first experience that I went back a week later to get a Brazilian wax. Muna was very communicative throughout it! I've only ever gotten threaded at one other salon so I'm not sure what is normal and what is not normal. I walked by here while waiting for my threader to open and I was getting annoyed because I didn't want to be in Lakeview much longer and then I notice a sign $8 for eyebrow threading-free threading if you call first and make an appointment as a grand opening special. It was empty it looked clean. (and was very clean when I walked in) I went in (without the appointment) and the people were very friendly. The threading was kind of lengthy last time I got them threaded it took about 5 minutes, I was in here in the chair for about 10. The thread snapped and broke 2 or 3 times which is probably not normal. My eyebrows look great so that's why I'm not docking any stars. At no time did she use tweezers, it was strictly the thread and honestly I think they look great. They're open early and are so close to the brown/red line I'll probably start coming here instead of the place I go to now since the times are weird. Also when she was finished, she ASKED if I needed the aloe lotion (which I appreciate some people just attack you with it) and she gave me a nice forehead and temple massage, it was actually really relaxing even though she only did it for a minute or so. The woman who did my eyebrows was very friendly, she gave me a ton of coupons to use in the future including $5 eyebrow threading, $20 mani AND pedi (I'll be back next week!), hair cut and shampoo ($10) and full arm waxing for $20. I was a bit offended because she told me about their acne facials, I'm on my period and have a pimple I don't need a damn acne facial, otherwise I was happy. I hardly ever review but this? Awesome! I found the salon through their groupon for brazilian waxes. Scheduled my appointment through the groupon function. Seemless. Got the the salon really early because traffic was light and I found meter parking right outside their door! They ushered me back right away! I read other reviews about the lack of privacy in the waxing rooms but I thought it was fine. The rooms had doors and were adequately furnished. So the walls didnt go all the way up to their 15 foot ceilings. So what? Hena was amazing! As others stated, she used a combo of soft and hard wax. She was meticulous! I hadnt waxed all winter and she didn't rush. She even plucked out the last couple of stubborn strays with tweezers. She was pleasant and made conversation. She asked if I was okay multiple times. I was. The place is nice, simple and clean. No, it's not a lavish salon on the mag mile but could I get a full arm and leg wax on the mag mile this cheap? No! I'm okay with simple. I love this place. I went to Ideal Salon for a Brazilian wax. I had only had one other in my life over 7 years ago. I have sensitive skin was extremely nervous about the pain. Sony did my wax and was wonderful. I cant say it did not hurt but she was patient and when I asked her to take a minute she would. When we were finished I also needed my eyebrows threaded. Again she did an amazing job. She suggested to me I should get my eyebrows tinted and I have thought about this before so I thought I would try it out. At first I didnt love it because I felt it was darker than my usual eyebrows (which is totally the point) but once I got used to my new eyebrows I loved them ! A+ experience for eyebrow threading and henna tattoo! This is my second time getting my eyebrows threaded here. I'm very pleased! I don't have much for eyebrows but there are a lot of small hairs that are trying to break free of the area they should be in. I just walked in at 2:30ish on a Saturday and was taken in right away. I'm not sure who did the threading but it was quick, painless, and top notch. I now have perfectly symmetrical eyebrows with a lovely arch to them. This is my first time getting a henna tattoo. She asked if I had a design in mind. I only said, "I'd like a lotus flower on my upper back. Your are the artist, what you do is good for me." She laughed. It took all of 5 minutes and is gorgeous! I'll definitely come back and get another; perhaps bring in a photo of a design. I have full confidence the woman who did it can easily copy anything you bring her. read more

If 0 stars was an option I would have given it! I almost doubt that they are licensed Esthetician! The lady sent me into the room right after another client came out, she didn't sanitize nor clean up/set up...I had to do it! The place is a simple old nail shop, it's cold and simple. I was far from comfortable or relaxed. I went for a Brazilian wax which I bought from Groupon. They lady wore rubber gloves that kept sticking to the wax on my skin. I was sweating and cringing from the pain & she laughed at me!! The bed was so filthy!! She didn't ask if I wanted my stomach done, which I didn't, when she applied the wax I stopped her and said no not that, she responded "it's ok" and proceeded to remove the hair! She squirted oil on my vagina and said you can rub it in and walked out! As I rubbed the oil in I noticed I was bleeding quite a bit! Nightmare!!! NEVER going back! read more

Today I came in to get an Brazilian wax with Muna who had really good reviews. I'm gonna be 100% honest, I went home (the first time) & ended up seeing that I was not at all happy with my results. Which is mostly my fault for not voicing that while at my appointment. I ended up calling back and explaining what I didn't like about my wax. Muna was very very sweet and understanding and told me to come in and she'd fix it. So I drove back a couple hours later and she took care of it all.. I'm overly satisfied with the results now, she removed everything... and for the stubborn hairs she tweezed ( which were quite a number of them.) While there her and I discussed that the unusual redness was because my skin is extremelyyyyy sensitive. So she removed the hair around that area with extra caution and even put a cream on there for cooling. I am now overly satisfied with my results. I had a Groupon for the Brazilian wax. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and saw it wasn't a ritzy boujie salon where I'd feel judged. The lady running the place was a sweet older woman and being that a Brazilian wax could be awkward, she was very professional and sweet. And she did an amazing job! It was fast, and did a better job than European Wax Center which cost twice as much. However the old school waxing procedure hurt pretty bad. She also did eyebrow threading for only $8. Priyanka is my girl!! I was looking for a salon that would thread and tint my eyebrows at a reasonable price. I live all the way in old town but I go out of my way to come here. I've come around 4-5 times and each time Priyanka takes her time and after she's done looks closely to make sure it's perfect before you leave. I have recommended this place and Priyanka in specific to several girlfriends and they all come back happy with the results. I called in the early evening and got an appointment for a bikini wax for that same evening, even as a new customer! Bikini / Brazillian waxes are usually $45, but I got one for $35 by checking in with Yelp. I generally don't trust places that have waxing services on the cheaper end, but I had a good experience here. It's quite small, but the service was decent and the employees were kind and helpful. Both hard and soft waxes were used during my service. Extra time was spent fixing any ingrown hairs and confirming (several times) that I was happy with the result. I'd recommend this salon based on the fact that the wax experience and result were not much different than salons that charge $80 for the same service. read more

Edit: I'm increasing my original 3-star rating because I really appreciated the business owner reaching out to me about my experience. My one piece of advice is to mention the name of your requested technician when you arrive for your appointment, that way you can avoid a situation like mine. -------- This was my first time visiting the salon and, after extensively reading the yelp reviews, I decided to make a threading appointment with Muna. I had called ahead of time for an appointment with my requested technician and was confirmed for 5 pm. I arrived on time and told the woman at the front desk about my appointment for an eyebrow threading. I was brought to the salon chair to have whom I had assumed was Muna do my brows... It wasn't until I went to pay that I found out it wasn't Muna who had done the work on me. Instead I was told that the technicians alternate between customers and that I had landed on the other woman's turn to do my brows. My issue is that I had called ahead of time with a specific request that clearly wasn't honored. And instead I was blamed that I hadn't mentioned Muna when I arrived. However, like I said, I had made an appointment. They had my name and my appointment time recorded, so they should have known whom I wanted as my technician. Luckily the other woman didn't butcher my eyebrows... But this was a bad business practice and a wrong step in establishing trust with a customer. read more

I read the reviews on Yelp and decided to check this place out. I went in for a Brazilian wax and to have my stomach waxed. The lady that waxed me was pleasant. After the session, I expected to look down to a total hairless stomach and down region. I got the opposite. There was a ton of hair leftover. It didn't even look waxed. The area also had a ton of wax residue. I walked in with a dress and walked out with my dress sticking to my body because of the residue. read more
