Walked in to get eyebrow threading. It's not very pleasant in appearance or service. While they offer threading and wax services, the employees definitely need more training. I walked to a chair in the back. I was surprised as how they even get work done here as the lighting was super low. I explained to the lady exactly what I wanted but I got far from it. I walked out with two mishaps not brows for which the employee didn't even apologize. The right and left eyebrows were not only shaped terribly but were different from eachother! I've never had such a terrible experience with brows. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Try any other salon but this one! read more

I came here, based off a recommendation. Ive only had my eyebrows threaded once, over 10 years ago, and back in high school. My eyebrows grow in two different directions, and not all too thick. I got threading and eyebrow tinting from natasha. I can't remember the exact breaking, but I was charged $12 for services; $5 for threading, $7 for tinting. We considered between dark brown and black. I pushed for dark brown so that it would look more natural, and not too contrasting with my fairer skin tone. Threading was quick. some friction, some pulling, some tears shed. But the results were amazing. The tint was applied, and i nearly snoozed out for 20 minutes while it dried. There was a faint scent... kind of like an incensed oil, but nothing off-putting. The tint filled in areas where my hair growth is sparse, and filled in the center of my brows, where my growth is definitely a bit lighter. I couldn't be happier. I was recommended to come in monthly. I'll absolutely be back. It isn't the most modern, up-to-date, trendiest, or cleanest spot... but for the results and affordability, it is definitely most worth it. I used to be a loyal Natasha's customer for about seven years until a bad experience. I went to get waxed and she put the wax on my face, no big deal..UNTIL I saw the lady pull out a cloth strip to take the wax off but with HAIR already on it. It sure as hell wasn't mine. I wanted to gag. I was so let-down and I haven't been back since. The threading is almost painless here and I was happy with it until I noticed that one eye brow was higher than the other. I told her (the lady that sits in the second to last chair on the left side) and she said it was even and I said, look again...and she said I had it like that when I came in...uhm you're the only person that has touched my 'brows in the last seven years. Please don't lie to me. I want to love this place because I got my 'brows threaded here for the first time when I was thirteen and it's cheap but I just can't anymore....we had a great run. I've gone here 3 times now. The first time was with Sophie (prior yelper raved about her) and my eyebrows looked really good especially for only $5. The second and third time was with the girl who is one seat further to the back from Sophie (=the second seat on the right). The first time she actually cut my skin while threading- she didn't say anything about it and with my skin being irritated, I didn't realize it was actually cut and was starting to bleed until I left. I was astonished that this happened as it had never happened any other time I had my eyebrows threaded. I chalked it up to a bad experience but was willing to give them another chance. Went back this weekend- same girl- I left with 3 cuts (extremely painful) and very uneven eyebrows- she took off too much of one side near my nose and it just looks silly. I will not be going back and recommend that if anyone does go- stay away from this threader. I'm back to my lady downtown and spending a bit more for better service, better eyebrows and no blood. read more

Getting my eyebrows threaded gives me the ultimate easy face lift. I trek into the city for the one person who can clean my eyebrows. Her name is SOPHIE. She sits in the first chair when you walk into the place and she is only there Thursday and Friday from 11a- 3p, and Saturday all day 11p-7p. I do not mean any disrespect to the other talented ladies, especially Natasha, I have had my eyebrows cleaned by them, but only Sophie can clean and shape my eyebrows the best. $5 for eyebrows (yes, that is for both eyes!) $3 for upper lip I only gave 4 stars b/c the wait can be quite long on Saturdays. But on the other days that Sophie is there, I'm usually in and out. And parking at the meters is usually open right in front. read more

They could've been a little more inviting when I walked in, but it was close to closing time, so maybe they were all tired. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. But, my eyebrows look great, so I guess that's all that matters. However, Nikhar Beauty Salon down the street (Devon and Western) has much friendlier staff and the same prices. Disappointing!!!! I've been here before and it was just ok. But the last time really sucked. Natasha did my eyebrows uneven and then to top it off-I had an upper leg wax. She asked if I wanted to take off the top line of my bikini-I said ok-and then she sloppily applied the wax too thick and too much and then ripped (without cutting hair) about half of my hair down there-OUCH!!! I have had my eyebrows threaded here for several years now by various ladies. I have been complimented on my eyebrows and have consistently felt great leaving Natasha's. If you like your eyebrows on the thicker side to specify that to the threader. I've had mine done thinner than usual and hadn't realized it until I'd looked at pictures much later. Definitely wasn't a bad thing but when it comes to eyebrows, sometimes they don't grow back! Samina (I'm probably spelling it wrong) is who I see to get my brows done. I have had to specify to her to clean up the center of my eyebrows a bit better at times. Sometimes they are a little closer than I would like them to be, if that makes any sense. They will all listen to your directions so just be friendly and tell them what you want before the services begin. It can be uncomfortable but the process is similar to waxing and tweezing at the same time. They are very quick and precise so the pain is pretty minimal. Be prepared to wipe your face free of eyebrows before you leave! I have also had waxing done here - both Brazilian and legs. Extremely cheap! I believe that legs and Brazilian are $25 each. They could be less. It's been awhile since I've had waxing done. The room isn't glamorous by any means but for the price, you can't beat it. I stopped getting a Brazilian here (started going to a cleaner facility) but I trust getting leg waxes here still (I have not had a leg wax here in over 2 years). It is recommended that you make an appointment but they are generally not busy and will take you. Street parking is available. Bring cash. I came for a $5 eyebrow threading. My eyebrows came out even and trimmed. I'm glad that she didn't trim them too short like some people do. The first thing she said to me when I sat down was, "you trim at home, don't you?" She was nice about it, but I could tell that was a "don't do that" kind of question. I'm a fan mostly because this is so cheap. I've only had my eyebrows threaded one other time, and the last place trimmed my brows too short. For $5, I can afford to get my eyebrows threaded every two weeks. The only problem is that I live downtown, and public transportation costs me $4.50 each way (I have to transfer, either from one bus to another or from the El to a bus). But, I made up for it by stopping by a couple of stores to get Indian snacks and some fruit I can't get downtown. read more

I use to frequent this place over 12 years ago and was in love with the way my eye brows came out. Just the other day on the 28th of March 2017 I was in the neighborhood so I decided to stop in and some services done leg wax, bikini wax, and arm wax, etc.... Natasha was the only one in the shop around 10am. The services was messy I had wax everywhere after she was done and when I got home to shower I still had hair in patches on my legs in my bikini area there was hair & wax all over not to mention I was overcharged. I make sure to get my eyebrows threaded here whenever I make my way up to Devon, as I did this afternoon. $5! You can't beat that. It's quicker and more painless than waxing, and I've never left with "the comma" I've been left with from a brow wax. Tip: they'll have you pull the skin taught around your brow as they thread away. Do it! It makes the whole process much more painless! Don't expect much for atmosphere. It's pretty dated and looks a bit cluttered. But I go here not for the ambiance or conversation. Went here today to tame my brows (I seriously looked like a muppet!). They were quick and relatively painless. Got them threaded into a more reasonable shape for $5. Can't say fairer than that. I give the threading, great price and quick service 5 stars. I give their customer service 3 stars at best. They don't go out of their way to be friendly which doesn't bother me but might bother some. A few months ago a friend went with me who wasn't getting her brows done. She was curious so watched what I was getting done. The woman who did my brows started totally insulting her eyebrows (which looked fine). She basically made her feel like she shouldn't be leaving the house. I can understand wanting to get a new client but this was way over the top. All and all I still like this place and have recommended it to a lot of happy customers and for $5 I don't expect much customer service. read more

Every time I come in town this is one of my first stops! I can't speak for the others but natasha is the best. Always satisfied because my eye brows look so fresh and clean. It still cost $5, and I can afford a 3 or 4 dollar tip because I love it so much. I wish the location wasn't so far west because you have to battle all the devon traffic. The waxing services are also cheap and good but I do have concerns about the sanitation . I haven't seen the reusing of the waxing strips but if I did...I wouldn't return for those services. After I went to college for four years and came back I was expecting the expecting the usual great threading I use to receive (and for five dollars who wouldn't come back.) however I found that the quality has gone down. Today was the last time I'll visit Natasha's. My eyebrow threading was uneven and way too thin. Natasha was on the phone for most of my three minute session, at one point she got off the phone but when the phone rang she told me I was done. I didn't even get to check them out on a mirror. The two stars are for the act that price still remains cheap. But I rather pay more than have that type of service again- buyers beware. read more

I came to this place to get my 1st henna tattoes on my hands. I showed Natasha the picture of a beautiful detailed hands found on Instragram. I asked to see the work of the woman that would work on me. She said she misplaced it. I should have ran then. Over the phone, she said starting each hand at $10.00, she charged me $50.00 for both hands. The work done was no where near the quality I anticipated. The artist was an amateur or learning at best. I tipped her but shouldn't have. Already felt like I had been bamboozled. Afterwards, Natasha said I should have returned the next day when she has a better artist. What?!? I would recommend that clients come here sometime between noon and 3pm to get more of the experts. There are also fewer clients. You won't be greeted with a smile, but they are quick to ask which service you would like and set you up with someone to help you. This is my go-to place for eyebrows and upper lip. They do a good job, natural arch, clean job. They usually put lotion on the threaded areas to soothe it, and hand me a tissue to clean my face. On one note, I came in to get a few stray hairs threaded to prep for a special event, and the girl was complaining in Urdu how there wasn't any hair to pluck. Haha. read more

i've been a regular customer for 5 years now. it's 5 bucks (plus a 2 buck tip) for that ancient method of eyebrow threading (i have no clue if it's ancient, but it sounds cool). i'm sort of dependent on it. sadly. like i can't pluck my own eyebrows, i have to have someone with string do it for me. i go about every 2-3 weeks on saturdays, when sofia is working. however, i haven't seen her around (maternity leave) so i go to the chick in the 2nd chair on the left. sofia is probably the most popular of them all. there used to ALWAYS be a wait for her. it's true, she is the best. the other chick is ok. fortunately, i can fix any mistakes she's made with my tweezerman - i've learned how do it DIM (do it myself). however, when sofia does come back (if she ever does??) i can't tell you how many times i've made the mistake of going to someone else to do it. it's not the same. like getting a bad haircut, but for your brows. other than the price and the good job that's done, everything else is, well, kinda crappy. the place is kinda gross. used string EVERYWHERE. don't use the bathroom. the location is far for me, too. why do i come back though? it's like finding a good stylist. why fix it if it's not broken? or i'm chicken shit and don't have the balls to try it elsewhere. read more
