I've been going there many years and have given my hard earned money to this salon. And, I'm always met with no greeting from technician or owner, pulling of my hands aggressively whenever I'm not close enough for the technicians liking, her name is Trang, and every time I go something is wrong with my nails. Idk how many times I've gone back to fix things. The time before this last appointment I asked for chrome nails. She got to the last few steps and I asked are you still going to put the chrome on? She tried to gaslight me and say I didn't ask in the beginning. Knowing for a fact I did. That time I went home with lumpy nails the icing on the cake. I'd give this place a 3.5 stars. I likely won't be back. There are so many nail salons in Chicago that I don't feel the need to spend money at one that's sub-par. Pros: can book in advance through website/app; started on and efficient; nice enough; looked relatively clean Cons: I got a text and email 20 minutes before my appt that it had been rescheduled. I freaked out because WTF?! Turns out they just changed who my nail tech was going to be which I don't care because I didn't select anyone in particular. But maybe don't say that you rescheduled the appt. I also don't like that I wasn't asked if I liked the color before it was put on my toes. They give you a basket of nails and have you choose (instead of the wall) and what was put on my toes was pretty different. Not what I was looking for. I'm not one to cause a scene or anything, so whatever, I'll go with the color that's just meh and not what I wanted. If you know the color of what people are choosing from is different from what they are getting, it's nice to check with the customer to make sure they like it. And she should have offered to get me a new color when I said from the first nail that I didn't like it and asked if it was the same color. They don't use Opi products, which is personal preference but nail polish didn't seem as high quality. I could have done this quality of pedi myself - that's not why I pay someone to do it for me. Again, it's fine. Nothing terrible. Not great. Based on other reviews, it seems like the tech really makes or breaks the quality of service here. I won't be back, though. read more

Came in for the first time. Called at 11 and they fit me in for a pedicure at 4. Clean and updated - no chemical smells. I was early and they got me in the chair soaking right away. Tech was very detailed. We had some issues with my polish showing up (sparkles were too sheer and would have caused long drying time). There has never been a design I've shown him he will not attempt, because he is just that good! I believe the business is run by him and his wife, and they are genuinely great people who want you to be happy with what you're leaving with. Big piece of advice -- book via the app BOOKSY. Saves you so much time, and you can see their available appointment times. Most of the time they won't take walk-ins because they're just that booked. On Tuesday I treated myself to a chrome pedicure here and I'm absolutely pleased I chose this wonderful nail spa in Lincoln Park. The location is near lots of good restaurants and the inside of this nail salon is extremely cheerful, organized and cleanly. They even have nail art here for a small extra charge. My manicurist was Ann and she really took her time cutting out my ingrown toenails without hurting me and my pedicure looks wonderful! I came in for a no-chip mani and regular pedi just before a beach vacation where I was super hard on my nails. After a week, the pedi still looks as good as you'd expect after lots of sand and salt -- there is some tip and edge wear. Totally to be expected. What's even more impressive is the no-chip mani. It looks stellar -- mostly growth and very little tip wear. Zero lifting, chipping, or cracking. Ann was the one who did my nails and she was incredibly meticulous, to the point where I was mildly worried I was going to miss my next conference call. I would recommend booking when you have time to spare or factor in more padding, given how detailed of a job they do. The massage was passable and forgettable, but 99% of them are, sadly, these days. If I remember correctly, Venmo/Zelle gets you 5% off and cash gets you 10% off. Credit card is full price. Booking was easy and all digital -- you can see time estimates for services and pricing upfront. All in all, a really great experience and I can't wait to come back. read more

Came to Reverie when they first opened after my last salon completely ruined my nails and have only had the best experiences. This is the longest my nails have ever been and the technicians that regularly do my nails and pedicures (Ann and Tran) are incredibly detailed oriented and always do an amazing job. The entire staff is very knowledgeable and will answer questions when you aren't sure what's right for you or are curious about a new service. The one time my gel manicure fell apart the next day, there wasn't any issue getting it fixed and everyone was very accommodating. First time customer initially during last summer bc my regular place was booked till after Labor Day. Searched yelp reviews for nail salons outside of my neighborhood. Initial phone call was professional and kind. Upon arrival I noticed the tech at the front desk offered to call me by name with genuine kindness and did a decent no chip mani and pedi. This was a new shop at the time. Skip to today, second time coming, and new nail techs and more clientele following no changes in great atmosphere, customer service and alright nail work. I selected for the mani and pedi package "The Essential" ($40 and yes, it includes hot towel and leg massage but that's standard most places now) but bc I wanted no chip with both my feet (add another $15) and my hands (add another $20) my final bill was $75 for a no frills, one color, short length, basic no chip mani/pedi. I don't remember what I was charged my first appt but I also don't remember sticker shock lol. I'm simply not sure if I can justify this no matter which salon although this place is ok. I don't understand having to pay another $35 dollars for no chip color on top of a $40 basic hand and foot manicure. Maybe it's just me. I wish them well but not sure if I'll be back unless I have no other options available when necessary. read more

I've even worried about finding a salon that's taking serious measures regarding COVID, and this salon blew it out of the water. They DO NOT re-use equipment on people, except the cuticle cuter and that I saw them deep clean. They had clear plastic walls between nail tech and client, the massage chairs have plastic curtains between them. Also the employees are very sweet, I was offered a beverage and snack while getting a pedicure. I do recommend asking about specific nail techs, as I see Lynn is very recommended and does a clean, even, and good job. I had a different nail tech, and will be back to Try out Lynn. read more

I've had my nails done by Wendy and Nick and each time it's the same high quality dip powder manicure. -Cleanliness. The salon is beautiful and clean every time. They use new nail files, buffers, cuticle cutters for each client which is not a guarantee at all salons. -Friendliness. They are so kind to everyone who enters and even know many repeat clients by name and they offer you free water/La Croix/coffee/pop. -Options. My first mani and pedi since last year. I was really excited to try this place out based on the reviews. I would say the mani and pedi service was okay, I wouldn't say it was excellent or great. I like that they lined the pedicure tubs with disposable plastic. What I don't like is the recycled unsanitary tools they used. This can cause infections and bacteria on your hands and feet and spread. I really feel like they need to look into getting new tools and sanitize them regularly. The business is extremely clean professional, organized, and well run. They are very customer oriented and that's why they book up so fast. They consistently take temperatures, they ask people to wash their hands upon entry, and have a the proper spacing requirements in place.
