I highly recommend Marta's services. She is fast but she doesnt rush, considerate and super friendly. She was also very helpful in letting me know that because i switched from sugaring, which i had done for ten years, back to waxing, that i may have some ingrowns since the hair would be pulled in a different direction but if it happened, it should resolve itself within a couple of visits. Here for a bachelorette party to include a boat and bikinis and desperately needed a wax- Marta is THE best. She's making me want to find someone new back home in NYC. Great wax by Marta. Located inside salon on 4th floor. She is so easy to talk to and is very honest with her wax. I came in for a full leg but ended up only getting half leg because she said my hair wasn't quite long enough on my lower and it would end up breaking the hairs instead. I appreciated her honesty. I almost don't want to submit this review because I want Marta to remain a hidden gem, but holy crap she's amazing. I've been going to Marta off and on now for about two years and in my 6 years of getting Brazilian waxes, I've gotten the best waxes in her little waxing room. She's incredibly personable and makes great conversation, quick and EXTREMELY thorough. I've had waxes before where upon inspecting myself at home, I end up seeing tons of left over hairs. Not with Marta. She gets everything off and will even bring out her tweezers for smaller hairs that the wax cant grab. While I live in Chicago, she'll be the only person I let wax me. read more

I've been searching for a waxing esthetician closer to my office, and saw the wealth of 5-star reviews for Marta. Needless to say, she surpassed my expectations! I had a full Brazilian, upper lip and eyebrows done in 20 minutes. She was extremely thorough and checked in with me as the waxing session progressed to make sure my pain level was OK. And given how quick she is, it was virtually painless! She used a combination of strip and hard wax, then tweezed for a solid 5 minutes to ensure every last hair was removed. Like all the other reviewers, I agree that Marta is amazing! I used to go to Mario Tricoci for my eyebrow waxing for years, and I almost always had negative experiences there. Marta however is very skilled with her waxing, and she never scolds me for using a tweezer too much - she just makes my brows look great every time! I am VERY particular about who I go to for waxing when it comes to my eyebrows... Not only have I gone to Marta since I moved to Chicago 3 years ago, I followed her from her old place of business @ Nail Bar to her new place City Waxing! Marta is an artist and she does my eyebrows perfectly each time. I have also gone to her for Brazilian waxes, which are very painful and uncomfortable, but she makes them almost pain free and she does the fastest job possible! Honestly I have been in and out of there in 7 minutes flat two different times before vacations. Love! Every appointment is easy to make, quick, thorough & low on the pain. I hate bikini waxes and have a terrible pain tolerance. She is easy to talk to which helps cut down the on awkwardness. Never have any problems afterwords with irritation which is a plus, and never a stray hair! Sometimes the wax can be too hot for my liking, but I just say something and fixed- no problem! Marta is amazing! I don't think I have ever had such a thorough and smooth wax in my life! Just to be clear, I got a body wax (arms, legs, underarms). Whenever I shave, and grow out hair for waxing, the wax is never ever smooth. I don't know how Marta did it, but my legs and arms are buttery smooth. She is an absolute professional. I think the trick is that she does small areas at a time, and does a really thorough job. She doesn't miss a single spot. She waxes wherever she sees a single hair. In addition, she is lovely to talk to. It is like talking to your best friend, we talked about everything! Loved her!!! Highly recommend!
