She explains her steps and really cares to know exactly about my current skin type and condition before we figure out the right routine. I've only been once so far but have switched up my daily skin routine to what she's suggested (which was not crazy expensive skin care, just products I could get within low budget on amazon), and it fits me so well and my skin has never been so glowy. This review is long over due. I have been seeing Lidia for the last two years and if I did not have to move to California earlier this year, I would have stayed with her forever. First of all, Lidia kept her place very organized and squeaky clean. I mean, for someone who is going to touch my skin for a good hour and a half, I just cannot trust them if they cannot make their own place presentable. When Lidia works on my skin, I truly feel that she cares about the health of my skin as she is always very thorough from beginning (microderm) to end (extraction, applying mask, etc.) Before her, I have seen other esthetician who tended to skim on certain procedures (almost like they were just going through the motion because the procedures were listed in the menu). But with Lidia, she actually took time to make sure each step is done properly, and she intentionally modifies the intensity based on the condition of my skin at the time when I visit her. Lidia does not push me to use her products but she does frequently ask me the products I am using (especially when my skin does not look too great) and make suggestions on what products I should consider adding / taking out of my regimen (not necessarily the products she carries). I would say Lidia was one of the reasons I was very sad to leave Chicago as I knew it would be very hard to find someone as good as her (and yes four months in I still have not found one at her caliber in my new area yet - maybe I need to realistically adjust down my expectations at this point......) read more

5 Stars Isn't Good Enough! Listen - Every single positive review for authentic skin is accurate. I am a 30+ highly melanated woman. I recently felt like my skin had reached a plateau. I was fond of my old esthetician, but recently I was purchasing really expensive products and wasn't seeing results, so I decided to get a second opinion. I chose Lidia with Authentic Skin just based on the Yelp reviews. Upon entering, the location is very calm, serene, and of course clean. Before we began my treatment she did a consultation where she asked about my skin and the products I was using. She made me aware of some of the issues she was seeing with my skin and then began the facial which included microdermabrasion. Lidia was informative, sweet, and kind. She took her time and was very patient with my troublesome skin. I didn't feel rushed at all. I have a nose that secretes a lot of oil and needs extra attention when it comes to extractions. She was the most patient and diligent esthetician I've ever experienced. In the past estethicians have been really rough or paid minimal attention to the extractions in my nose. Not Lidia. It seemed like she was committed to performing as many extractions as were needed, not just what time allowed. At the completion of my treatment she was waiting outside for me with suggested products to adjust my regimen. She didn't just suggest the products that were most expensive or products that she sold in house. Instead she offered products that she believed would work for my skin and some of them have proved to be much cheaper and even more effective than others I have used. I've seen her twice and with her product/regimen suggestions I have seen a noticeable difference in my skin. My once dull, blemished skin is becoming brighter and clearer. 6 months ago, my skin was a complete wreck due to a combination of stress and hormonal changes. My skin was oily and covered with cystic acne, pimples on my jawline and my neck.
