For my birthday I decided to treat myself to a facial. After researching for a few days I finally decided upon Absolute Precision Skin Care based on the great reviews. The reviews that mainly caught my eye were about Carly so I scheduled a facial with her. I later realized I scheduled it a week further out than I wanted to so I called to see if I could be seen sooner. They texted me back saying they had an opening the day I needed but they didn't say it wouldn't be with Carly. I guess I should've confirmed this but when I specifically requested her I assumed I would automatically be booked with her. I was booked with Jessica instead. When I arrived at 12:25 she greeted me at the door and immediately took me to the facial room. Her consultation was very quick and brief. We began the facial at 12:35 and she was finished by 1:22 so I did not receive a full hour facial. Any skin issues I mentioned to her she just repeated back to me when she was examining my face. I would've liked if she had walked me through the facial process step by step. Everything she put on my face was a mystery. The massage wasn't the most relaxing. My neck was tense the entire time. And while masking I just laid under the infrared light while she sat behind me silently. Almost every facial I've had elsewhere I have received a hand or scalp massage while I masked. Also the music was absolutely horrid. It was not relaxing spa music. It was more like boppy coffee shop music during the entire service. My face felt a bit tight afterwards and Jessica did not give me any product recommendations which bummed me out because I was really hoping to take something new home. Being in this industry myself this was not how I would've given the service. Overall I would not go here again. read more

This place is phenomenal!! I saw Carly whom is a true gem, she took her time discussing my wants & needs and together we developed a six month wedding prep plan for my skin. The spa itself felt super COVID-19 safe and when I walked into my facial room, it instantly felt like I was at a renowned spa! 2 things to know off the bat: 1) You will not have to search for the perfect esthitician anymore. Kelly is it! 2) Book your appt. ASAP! Kelly is virtually impossible to get an appt. with unless you have booked it months in advance or you get lucky and there is a cancellation that she can book you into earlier. I had been going to the same lady for my facials for ten years and she moved to Texas with her kids and grandkids last December. I was devasted and had no idea what I would do without her. I began researching new estheticians in the city since I was moving down here in April and I came across Absolute Precision on Yelp. I couldn't have gotten luckier. Kelly is knowledgeable, I felt I could trust her with my skin, and she uses Dermalogica products only which I love. Absolute Precision Skin Care will always have a special place in my heart. I had very bad acne and had especially terrible cystic acne about 4 years ago. My face would not calm down and it got to the point where I felt so ugly and refused to go anywhere or see anyone without makeup. I made a promise to myself that if I ever became acne free, I would stop wearing makeup. Dermatologists hadn't helped because my skin would always dry up or get worse with the products they prescribed. Enter Absolute Precision. I read tons of reviews on how helpful they had been in relieving customers' acne. I made an appointment with Kim. I saw her several times that summer. She asked thorough questions about my face wash, makeup products, moisturizers, sunscreen, how I ate, etc. She would always tell me what she was doing during the facial and what products she was using. She made me comfortable and had the best neck massages! She also gave samples of the product so I could be sure it worked for me. I always appreciated that. After that summer, I saw Kim anytime I came home from college. My cystic acne went away, but I was left with some scars, and Kim helped with those too. I only use Dermalogica products now and am very careful with what I put on my face. I make sure that it doesn't have fragrance or harsh chemicals. Kim allowed me to reach my goal of becoming acne free and I no longer have to wear makeup! Sadly, Kim doesn't work at Absolute Precision anymore, but Kelly Mack trained her, so Kelly must be fantastic. I returned to Absolute Precision in Nov 2016 because I was concerned about my pink cheeks (I was worried about rosacea). I made an appointment with Kasia based on Kelly's recommendation. During the facial, Kasia did not inform me what product she was using or why she was using it. She engaged in some small talk but seemed disinterested. She noticed the redness and said it was still red at the end of the facial, but didn't seem to know how to help it. When I walked out of the room, she immediately began selling the products. It made me a little uncomfortable to ask for samples instead. I left feeling dissatisfied and unknowledgeable about where to go from here to heal my pink cheeks. Overall, Absolute Precision is a wonderful place because I no longer have acne because of their knowledge. Brought my teen daughter for her first facial as she's struggling with acne: of course she won't listen to my advice so it helps to hear tips from a pro. Carly was so friendly and made us feel at home, walking my daughter patiently though the process. For Covid, they stagger arrival times for customers, wear gloves and masks and take temps etc... we felt very safe. The products smelled and felt amazing. She gave us lots of skincare tips and some samples to try at home. The whole experience was very effective (I'll spare you the gory details) and also very relaxing. We were both very happy with the results and already looking forward to our next visit! Our skin feels and looks amazing! Absolute Precision is a gem of a small business. Kelly's consultation was professional, not rushed and she provided so much advise over the period of such a short period of time. I wish that I had found Absolute Precision years ago! The office is warm and inviting and I really appreciated all of the extra COVID precautions (down to a hands free soap dispenser). Founder Kelly is clearly considering everyone's safety during this time. I like the additional benefit of it being a small business so fewer people in the space. I will never go anywhere else and will drive the 45 minutes to Absolute Precision rather than see anyone closer. I've been going here for over a year now and continue to have solid results and great customer service. Normally a facial is something I'd treat myself to 3-4x/year. However, this year when I got pregnant, my skin really flared up. The first trimester of my pregnancy really messed with my skin. Starting in my second trimester I started seeing Bonnie on a regular basis (every 2-5 weeks during some times) and each time the quality of my skin improved. I had new skin concerns- mild pigmentation issues, broken capillaries, etc and Bonnie helped with everything or explained things that she couldn't change to keep my expectations accurate. In all honesty, the facials are not relaxing. Bonnie spends a good time doing extractions so it's not a calm spa like hour. The room and service is spa like to a degree but it's work and you'll leave a bit red. Lately I've liked the add on peels and think that plus the microderm has really helped. I admit that I am easy to sell products to. I love and appreciate good skin products and am open to changing my routine if I see progress. Just had my second facial at APSC and it was again, amazing! I really feel like this is a place that cares about the health of your skin rather than just a relaxing spa visit (although it is that too! ;) I would definitely consider this as an alternative, or at the very least to supplement a to a traditional derm - espeically if you have not been seeing results with them, because APSC look sat and cares about more than just pushing chemicals and drugs. The staff here are really educated in this field and want to understand first your skin, from the inside out and how to treat it uniquely. I started going to Absolute Precision Skin Care in 2014 due to Yelp reviews. I don't wear any, perhaps a little, makeup now and then but attempt to maintain healthy skin. I was broke for several years and really only could afford consumer label skin products from Walgreens, etc. While effective, they dried out my skin and caused redness. I'm also active in the outdoors during all seasons, wear sun protection, but try to get seasonal facials. I've had the signature facial treatment from a few different estheticians there, I always walk away with a great treatment. They introduced me to Dermalogica skin calming line, which has improved my skin over time. After my treatment today, and typically after all treatments, they give you free / travel samples. Wow! What more can a girl ask for?! Kim and her amazing team at APS were everything I dreamt of and more. I had made the executive decision a year and half ago to stop taking the pill, little did my naive brain know that my adolescents would spring back and slap me in the face! As soon as I moved back to the city that I love the most (Chicago :), I decided to finally bite the bullet and start investing more in my face and beauty routines. I exchanged emails with Kelly initially. She mentioned their booked for 2 months but there was a last minute cancellation so I was able get a facial today. I really needed it as my pores really needed some cleaning. Kate did my facial and I wished I was laying there all day getting pampered. I was really surprised she focused on my neck and shoulders. My last facialist just massaged the area but Kate but a bunch of product around my neck and shoulder area in addition to my face. Plus, she massaged my whole arms. I really needed it after working for 2 days straight on a project which required maneuvering through the computer with a mouse. I also liked the fact that she didn't push products on me. I wanted to buy a toner and lotion but she only let me purchase the toner and advised I use the sample lotions she gave me to see which one worked best. Can't wait to book my next facial. I had a facial with Kim this past Saturday and I cannot recommend her highly enough. My face was experiencing some serious breakouts since going off the pill. I was on a prescription topical gel from my dermatologist, but it was losing its effectiveness. I didn't want to go on an antibiotic, so I thought I'd give a facial a try. I am so glad I did. Kim was extremely thorough, knowledgeable, and passionate about her work. She (kindly) explained how the products I was using were causing my breakouts. She walked me through every step of the process, explaining what she was doing and what products she was using, and why they were effective. Afterward, Kim recommended that I purchase the line of products she used, but even advised that I go home and research them first so I felt good about buying them. Truthfully, I never liked all the fragrance-filled potions applied to my face in the past and didn't really see the effects of previous facials. After searching for a new esthetician for months, I finally found Piper at Absolute Precision, and I am in love! My first visit with Piper was in December. She really took the time to find out what my current skin care regime was and what my concerns were. The facial was great and I was very pleased with the extractions. She gave me new products to try, as well as a detailed regime. I am SO happy with how my skin looks and how much my chin has cleared up in just a month's time. When I turned 50 I decided it was more practical to spend money on a good facial than a shrink. I came to Yelp and found Kelly at Absolute Precision and knew immediately I had made the right decision. Until then, I took OK care of my skin: I wear sunscreen usually and clean my face, albeit in a somewhat lazy fashion. When I first got to Kelly I had dry bits... in my T-Zone! All estheticians say they are the best, and that their methods are the holy grail to beautiful skin. With Kelly Mack, she's actually telling the truth. This is the first time that I've EVER had a facial where my skin continues to look better each day. Normally, I get a facial and afterwards I look like a mess.. then, in the days that follow, my skin quickly reverts back to it's former, acneic self. Blech. I kept getting facials despite less than stellar results because I thought my skin really was just. that. bad. Well, no more of that crazy logic. Kelly did an incredible job from start to finish. First I filled out the requisite skin questionnaire, then we talked a bit about my issues (acne + eczema), and finally finished up with the products I used. I've been visiting Kelly for past 4 years now - on and off and I have to say it's a pleasure working with her!!! She is an awesome esthetician with one of the best qualities - she listens to you carefully!! She does not try to sell you product after product,. She offers advice and treatment as per your need and suggests alternative options if something does not feel right. I have been scared of trying chemical peels (the name doesnt help either!) but she eased me through the process and told me exactly what to expect.... after seeing the results on my skin, all I can say now is "bring it on!!" The microdermabrasion treatments and facials are excellent too! It is hard to get an appointment though (unfortunately), so you have to book way in advance. I have really tried to take as good care of my skin as possible on my own by staying out of the sun and using good skin care products (I can't afford La Mer, but you know what I mean!), but I've always wondered what it was like to have a facial. Everyone I know who sees an esthetician regularly always raves about how much better their skin is, but I always hesitated for two reasons: I have really thin, sensitive skin and worry about a facial being too irritating; and, to be frank, the cost. Absolute Precision Skin Care/Kelly Mack has resolved both concerns. She is professional and delivers! Not only does she do a great job with the products and techniques she uses, but she provides such a relaxing, pampered experience . . . I never would have expected a neck/shoulder massage, a hand/arm massage AND a facial massage as part of the treatment. Not only did my skin look and feel good, I felt GREAT after my treatment. Her room is small enough to feel intimate but large enough to feel comfortable. She knew that I was devoted to my current skin care regimen and respected that, which was really nice. She's not pushy with the Dermalogica product line, but gave me a brochure and told me about some of the products she had used on me during the facial. I'll be honest -- there are a couple of products I may just incorporate into my current regimen! And the price? Absolute Precision is ultra-competitive. I find some great gems through yelp and absolute precision is no exception! I got an amazing facial with Kim. She is so sweet, soooo knowledgable, and really understands all types of skin. AND...the customer service she provides is incredible (see my little story below) which is why I felt so compelled to review!! So...I had a random run-in with my normally docile kitty the day I had originally been scheduled to come in for a facial leaving me with two bloody gashes on my face. I called right away and left my a message detailing my plight but was unsure of how it would turn out as these girls book up fast and...I was past the cancellation period (a policy I completely understand and agree with the need for). Kim calls me back a bit before my appointment and says she will fit me in that Saturday AFTER her last appointment so that we can exfoliate/work with the scratches to get them looking as gone as possible before the wedding. To sum up my experience with Kelly, I'd say it was *glorious*. I'd been talking about going to Absolute Precision for a facial for months, so with my wedding quickly approaching in less than three months (woot!), I decided it was finally time. First of all, the location is excellent. Super convenient, easy, and free street parking right outside. Prior to my facial, Kelly asked important questions so she could get a handle of my skincare routine and everyday activities that influence the health of my skin. Once the facial began, I didn't want it to be over. Kelly was very thorough and precise (how fitting) with my facial, and I was so incredibly relaxed and stress-free throughout the entire process. One special note: I wear hearing aids, and she is the first esthetician who, upon me telling her this, recommended that I take them out during the facial so I would not worry about trapped moisture, beeping, or them finding their way out on their own. I really appreciated this, because it showed she cared about me being relaxed and about my well being. Originally, I had booked two appointments with Kelly thinking I would likely just go before my wedding, and might not need facials afterwards except for every six months or so. But after my experience with Kelly, I know I'll be a frequent regular client and that she'll take great care of my skin! read more

Two visits in, and I'm really enjoying getting my face treated like it is a precious gem. Kelly's technique and bedside manner make it even more relaxing...she is very skilled at reviewing and assessing your skin needs, and giving it that bounce back it needs if it lives in Chicago. Her process is very thorough and I come out feeling like a newborn (okay, well, almost). Dermalogica products are great too, and she offers samples during your initial appointments to try to find what works best for you. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I got the signature facial which is $85 for an hour. It was so relaxing I would have fallen asleep. Her consultation helped me out a LOT too. She's not pushy with skin products, but the one she recommended to me I heard good things about so I went for it and it's working great! Kelly is the BEST!!!! I have been going to her for microdermabrasions every 6-8 weeks for over 2 years and each and every time I leave a satisfied customer w/ super happy skin :) 1) I love the intimate setting, no pretentious spa attitude, super relaxing, reasonable prices, and very clean/comfortable. 2) KELLY KNOWS HER STUFF! She's never pushy, and always a good listener to my needs. If you have combination skin that reacts different from one season to the next (Chicago weather= the WORST), you know how important this is!! She received her training from Aveda, the best!! 3) She does get booked up fast, so getting scheduled as soon as the month opens up is key.. HOWEVER.. she is very loyal to her returning customers and is always willing to help out if needed. She bent over backwards to help me get my appointment scheduled at the perfect time for my wedding and has always helped out in any special occasion. She is excellent at communicating via email, and super fast at responses for special requests. The fact that she gets booked up so quick doesn't bother me (I just make sure to jump on it when she sends out the 'September schedule is open!" emails), and love knowing that she's so busy b/c she's so good!!!! Get on her waiting list. Period. People cancel, her schedules open up last minute.. you'll get right in if you're somewhat flexible. 4) She knows her products. As I said before, she's not pushy, but I trust her judgment so much that if she recommends something, I grab it! She sells Dermalogica and has reward point system so you can get deals if you buy from her.. And she always gives me samples of new products before I commit to buy. Buy the Clarisonic Mia that she sells. DO IT. I have one, and it is the most spectacular thing ever to touch my skin aside from her wonderful facials. Easily the best 'at home' product I have ever bought. Forget those expensive, stuck up spas... after spending most of my life battling acne and other skin issues I can honestly say that I have visited countless spas for facials and treatments. Kelly is the best, she is super sweet and always makes me comfortable. My skin has made remarkable improvement since starting my treatments w/ her years ago.
