I was able to book a same day haircut appointment at Siren Salon with Emily. I was given coffee while I waited and took in how spacious and clean the space was. The staff was super friendly and everyone in there looked to be having a great time chatting to their hair stylists. It had a very welcoming energy. I have thin hair and Emily gave me great tips on how to take care of it and recommended me products to use. She washed, cut, and styled my hair in under an hour. She was very friendly and I'm happy with how my hair turned out. Will definitely be back! read more

I wouldn't recommend going here if you have curly hair. I had a bad experience, but that's 100% on me, and if I had followed my instincts from the moment I started having a conversation with the stylist I don't think I'd be writing this review (I would have just said it wasn't a fit and walked out). They were very talented and experienced, just not familiar with how to cut or style curly hair and didn't know what I was talking about when I mentioned things like a "cast" (or breaking it) or how I squished and crunched vs pulsed / couldn't answer my questions about layering products. At that point I should have just said it didn't seem like a good match, but I was desperate for a haircut so I stayed. They also told me that I needed to buy expensive salon products (Kerastase) to get any kind of results (and disparaged the ones I currently use, which are pretty standard in the curly hair community, especially among people with my hair type); they used said products on my hair and dried my hair about 50% dry (it fell straight almost immediately after I left with $80 of product). When I got home I immediately regretted the purchase and emailed the salon asking what their return policy was for products (unused to this day) and never heard back (even after two follow-up emails). So now I have two really expensive hair products I'll never use because they absolutely don't work on my hair. My hair is also now super "textured" which really isn't a thing for curly hair so I think I'll have to get some rehab work done with an actual curly salon. I did come here on the recommendation of someone who has a curl pattern similar to mine so I'm not quite sure where the disconnect was, other than maybe the texture and porosity of her hair is different. read more

I was in great need of a hair cut after months going without a cut or style. Covid really made it hard to keep up with my hair. I was greeted by Chloe and she and I had instantly a great connection. She's easygoing and listened to what my hair was doing and not doing. She got my hair all washed and it was so relaxing to have a scalp massage. I wanted to love this place. My go-to stylist went to another salon so i gave this place another shot with a different stylist. If you are an immigrant or come from immigrants beware. My last hairstylist made a rude comment about immigrants in the city causing the crime rate to go up. I found this very unprofessional and unnecessary to bring up while simply getting a haircut. Small talk is one thing but i find it unprofessional to talk about political views. I will not be back. read more

Hair color did not match what I had requested. Salon was unable to fix it. Hair cuts were uneven.

My appointment was with Cristy. On arrival I was greeted by a trainee that was helping Cristy. She brought me to my seat and put a cape on me. The trainee was very nice. Cristy then came over and introduced herself, we discussed how I wanted my color to look, and she went to mix my color. She came back with the trainee and she and the trainee started to color my hair. I was never once asked if I was ok having a trainee color my hair. Cristy maybe colored 25% of my hair and then told the trainee to finish me off. The trainee asked, " do you want to check it when I'm done"? Cristi said, "no". Basically I went to what I thoughts was a high-end salon and a trainee colored hair. The fact that Cristy did not even care to check the color was disappointing. When I booked online the cost was $92 when I got to the cash register it was $117. I asked why it was extra money and the girl at the desk said they had to use extra color. I told her was never asked or told that there was going to be extra color or an extra cost. Her basic answer was it is what it is! The customer service by Cristy and the lady at the front desk was disappointing. I really wish I had a better experience. I had high hopes for this place since I was buying their color during the pandemic and doing it myself and had such at good experience during the pandemic. read more

This is my favorite hair salon, and everytime I need a new haircut, I always make an appointment to go there. Because I wanted to try something new, I thought it would be good to try new hairstyle. The location itself is convenient to me, and there is no question that the atmosphere is pleasant. The staff are also helpful and pleasant to interact with. The staff that did my hair is a wonderful person to talk to. She takes great care to ensure that I am not uncomfortable and that I am pleased with the way my haircut turned out. I'd been cutting my own hair for two years, and let me tell you, it's every bit the challenge you'd expect! My regular salon and stylist never came back from the pandemic, so I searched for a place within walking distance from home and found Siren. I left a message, hoping to get in the next day, which I know was asking a lot, but Chris, the owner, returned my call that same evening. I'd seen Steve on the web site, so Chris and I talked about my needs and decided he was probably the best stylist for me. I'm so pleased I went and that I was fortunate enough to get on Steve's schedule. Everyone there was incredibly welcoming and pleasant from the minute I walked in, unlike so many salons with the fake smiles and self-absorbed superiority. And Steve was wonderful - he listened carefully to what I wanted, was anxious to do whatever he could to make me happy, and did a great job. He was also very sweet and easy to talk to (we're both animals lovers and talked about our pets), which is exactly what you want in a stylist when you sit in that chair. I will be returning and hopefully Steve will be my new go-to stylist for cutting AND coloring! I dyed my hair blue last year and I urgently needed to change it to black last week since our school started again. I did not have enough time to make an appointment and also I didn't have any free time for the following days until my school started, the only time I had is the same time they announced it. Blue hairs are not allowed inside so in order to attend the class I had to do it.  I walked past this Salon and with hesitations, I entered the place, the staff greeted me with a smile and it literally made all my worries go away. I told the staff to assist me with what I want, aside from changing the color I also had a haircut and manicure. They did pass my expectations and made me feel confident with my new hairstyle. 20/10. These people are true hair artists. I saw Steve last year and his eye for color and style gave me such a warm set of highlights just as I wanted. This last week, I went to another hair salon given the times worked better for me and let's just say they were NOT SIREN SALON. This other salon rushed me and didnt really listen to what I wanted. The next day I stopped by at Siren Salon to see if they could do anything to blend and make the highlights look more natural and less clumped. Coming into the studio, the front desk was so quick to help and understand my concern. I felt so validated. My hair stylist Ivette was AWESOME and gave me so many options to what I could do. They use high end products and the ambiance is calming. Great customer service from start to finish. I am rather disappointed by Siren after my latest appointment. I can't help by feeling like I got duped really bad, and I am really frustrated. For starters, I got a simple trim. Approximately an inch and a half of dead ends were cut off and my hairstyle was not altered in any way. It is difficult to tell anything was done at all, as it looks basically the same. For this, I was charged $60!! Then, to add insult to injury, they were having problems with their water, so my "shampoo" consisted of lukewarm (or at some points cold) water from a watering can that they poured over my head. I understand that problems occur with plumbing, but the proper thing in this situation would have been to have offered some sort of compensation for the lousy experience. Or even call me and tell me there were problems and reschedule my appointment. $60 for cold water from a bucket on my hair and an inch and a half trimmed off? I am deeply, deeply disappointed and am debating whether its even worth my time to call the manager. I should have spoken up yesterday, but I was so horrified that I'd be charged so much for what I received that I didn't respond properly. read more

This place had raving reviews so i had high hopes, and yet i got a pretty bad cut from here. At first I thought it was just too short, but later realized it was pretty uneven and all around not at all what I asked for/what the picture I had showed. I was surprised because everyone was super kind, very professional, and my stylist was very attentive. The people working at this salon are absolutely lovely! They are welcoming and friendly. However, I dropped $225 for a mediocre cut and less than mediocre color. If you want to pay for the nice friendly staff by all means but if you're looking for a good cut and color I suggest going elsewhere. I don ever mind spending that amount on a good color and cut but I could have gotten the same results at a very much cheaper cost! Good thing it's just hair and it will grow out and the color can be eventually corrected but now it's going to cost me even more. read more

I've been seeing Dominique for about three years now and she knows exactly what to do. Not only have we become great friends over time, but she's my hair queen. I don't think I'm extremely picky but I do have some particularities about my hair. I'm a consistent client who likes to come every five weeks to keep my highlights up-to-date and I've experimented with what type of blonde I want to settle on. Dominique always works with me on what I want doesn't get offended if I don't heed one of her suggestions but continues to offer her insight as I am making decisions about my hair. Unfortunately I had a TERRIBLE experience here. I'm new to the area and have been keeping my hair white/silver for a little over a year now. The owner FRIED my roots and didn't even take me light enough to pull my color off. I was a crying mess because if you've ever gone bleached white, you understand how fragile your hair can be if it goes wrong. Well it went very wrong. I have 3 different colors, roots, a band (my fault for waiting so long) and then yellow tips. When I called to ask for a refund because I had to go somewhere else to have it fixed, the owner screamed at me over the phone and threatened to hang up on me.
