I always have the best experience at Salon Envy. From scheduling online to them being understanding and dog friendly for my little teacup pup with separation anxiety, to making sure I am comfortable and of course perfecting my hair and boosting my confidence. So much goes into the whole experience and I wouldn't go anywhere else at this point. Grateful. I go to Sonia, but after seeing everyone's work over the years, they are all extremely talented. read more

I got a facial by Kat and could not be happier. She's got the touch. My skin looks and feels amazing, and I walked out feeling a thousand times more relaxed than when I walked in the salon. Conor was the host and concierge, and was professional, kind, and very helpful. So lucky I found them! read more

Destiny is my favorite hair stylist of all time. I enjoy her company and conversations. She does a phenomenal job every time and makes me feel super comfortable. I love that I found her. I refuse to go through anyone else for my hair. She's a sweetheart/whole vibe. Also the ambience of this place is super nice too. I definitely recommend going through her for hair cuts and coloring. Eventually I will have her do color on my hair when time comes. Thanks Destiny/Salon Envy! read more

Great experience finding this place as an out-of-Towner who will be back often. Went to another salon first, to enquirer about a blow dry, and they were such beeetches that I left and happened to walk by Salon Envy and from first passing the threshold, I noticed how great the energy was. Everyone was great, from the front desk to Kathleen, who did a superb job waxing/shaping my eyebrows to Destiny's deft hand at giving me a great blow dry. High marks to all! read more

I loveeee my hairs colour! Thanks to you Paul:) Cover my greys is my first priority lol but girls just wanna have fun too!! So we decided to add some dimensions and color pop out as well. I showed him a few pictures, from what I have we had a lot to work on, sorry Paul!! After spending a few hours there he did a wonderful job. i couldn't be any happier to see the beautiful colors come out! We agreed to change a bit like he recommended but you know you gotta listen to the professional! I absolutely love my hairs he also did trimming a bit for me. highly recommend! Worth your time and money! read more

This was one rare appointment!, At the last minute, I had to change the time of the appointment slightly, and they were incredibly accommodating. Mathew Scothorn is a master hairdresse, who actually changed the way he did my hair to accommodate my timing. They then let me use a room they weren't using to take an important zoom meeting, and then set me up in a chair to complete the blow dry before I left. Extraordinary service! Despite all the challenges I threw his way, Mathew did an amazing job on my hair! read more

Destiny is the best! She always gives me exactly what I'm looking for and even when I don't know she knows how to style and color my hair perfectly! My hair has never felt so healthy! read more

What a gem of a salon to have in the Lincoln Park neighborhood! I had a "hair emergency" and tried tape-in extensions for the first time for a special occasion this summer. I needed to have the tapes reinstalled and Destiny was patient with me and educated me on how to care for them, helped do emergency "hair surgery"-- when I had some issues with the extensions during a difficult, stressful week when I had just suffered a loss in my family. Destiny and her colleagues are just a treasure for their patience and kindness. Thank you Destiny for coming to my "hair rescue" and thank you to the Salon Envy team for being so kind, thoughtful, and helping me learn a new world! You are all awesome and I appreciate you! read more

DISASTER! I visited Salon Envy in search of a new stylist for cut and color. I made an appointment with Paul after reading positive reviews about the salon. I totally regret this decision! I shared my previous experience with foil highlights and balayage and was recommended that I do a root touch up instead to cover grey hair growing in. I went with Paul's recommendation and we agreed to also do balayage and toner. After Paul styled my hair, I discovered that the "root touch up" was a much darker color than my natural hair and didn't at all blend with the color Paul added to the middle and ends of my hair. I shared this feedback and Paul attempted to blend the colors using a "shadow root" technique - that didn't work. Paul then attempted to tell me that he didn't have time to make additional corrections. He agreed after I refused to make another appointment. Paul ended up doing foil highlights to blend the color together. I was at the salon for about 5 hours and left with a mediocre color job and an okay haircut. I was charged for a majority of the services and was repeatedly told by Paul that I asked for the wrong service. Last time I checked a root touch up shouldn't look like I am growing out my roots. I added a photo for reference. My scalp felt like I had a bad sunburn in the days following my appointment and I struggled to even brush my hair. I never plan on returning to Salon Envy an advise against going for color services. read more

Jalissa always does the most incredible job. I get blonde partial baliage and she nails the colors every time!!! I've been with her for two years and would follow her wherever she went next! This review is long overdue! I've been going to Haley Jokerst at Salon Envy for a couple years now and I just LOVE her. She cuts and colors my hair (balayage) and she nails it every time. I always get asked who does my balayage! She always takes the time to answer my question, listen to requests, and provide feedback. Plus she's super sweet and easy to talk to. 10/10 I highly recommend!!! read more

I got a signature facial with Kathleen and she is WONDERFUL. She took her time with the entire process and made sure I was comfortable. She's very hands on and It was super relaxing. I feel like a million bucks. My skin is GLOWING . 100% recommend coming in and seeing her. She was gentle and the face/neck and shoulder massages were everything! Extractions usually scare me but It was painless and everything went so smoothly. Thank you Kathleen! read more

Somehow, this place was on Groupon for a very fair price. It wasn't too good to be true, though, as I got a fantastic haircut here. They push their products a bit, but that's to be expected. The hair stylists really listen to what you want - e.g. just a bit trimmed off. The salon is well maintained without being stuffy. They even sell cute earrings! read more

I booked a deep hydration facial with June and it was well worth the time and money. June provided a calm and relaxing environment. She took into account my skin's condition (I deal with acne and eczema) before she started the facial. And afterwards, my skin was GLOWING. I was so happy with the way my skin looked and felt that I felt comfortable enough to go about the rest of my day without any makeup. I will absolutely be back. And I strongly encourage others to book an appointment with June. read more

Edit: 5/25. Got my hair trimmed ...did an OK job. It took 20 minutes start to finish. That just doesn't do it for me. DO SOMETHING to take up a little more time. Massage my head, pretend to thin things out, etc. She took all this time to explain blowdrying...but then didn't really cut any of my hair. I need it to look good for awhile, not just sit there like a big hunk of square in the back of my head! It definitely showed in the results. I was back to a mullet within a week. I have to go get my haircut again and its only been a month. Sighhh...the search continues. The salon is really nice though, coupons for 20% off for new customers are on the website. Free parking lot. read more

I can honestly say last night/this morning is the only time in 31 years I've cried over my hair and how awful it is. I had an appointment last night with Rebecca, and she is very nice. No complaints there. I brought in a picture that showed heavy blonde highlights around the face, with one of two in the back on the hair. Wanted a trim, with it slightly shorter on one side of the face. No layers. I have showed my atrocious cut to three friends now (the only people who will see it, because I'll be wearing hats from now until it grows out), and not one of them can see a slight touch of blonde... not even a little. And I wanted lots. She cut it way shorter than I asked for, with huge layers. I have the worst stacked bob I've ever seen, and I wanted nothing stacked, and nothing bobbed. Hair grows, so it'll be fine in the end.... I know. However, I have vacation in a few weeks, and dear god, I will certainly not be taking any pictures now. It's barely long enough for me to hide in a ponytail. The one good thing - since it was my first time there, I got a 20% discount. So I only paid $220 with tip to look this bad, instead of $260. read more

My appointment was scheduled for 1 P.M. for an extension removal. My stylist did not start me until 2:15-2:20. I got no phone call that she was running late. I had a service of getting my extensions removed which was charged by the hour ($105) I got charged for my stylist being late and me sitting there waiting. The manager and owner took no responsibility for what was going on. The stylist even had the audacity to take a break 30 minutes into my service for 30 minutes and I even got charged for her time on the break!! Per the owners comment below they in fact did NOT take an hour off my bill and I was also waiting for over an hour for her to start. read more

I've been going to Salon Envy for a couple of years now, and I really can't say enough good things about it. What's more, is that they're constantly working forwards improving their services. I see Natalia for facials and Lori for both my cut and color, and will continue to do so as long as I'm in the Chicago area! I get the signature facial every 6-8 weeks, to clean out my pores, smooth out my texture and rejuvenate my skin's glow, and can't say enough good things about it. My skin has changed drastically since I started seeing Natalia, and I'm truly grateful. As for Lori, she keeps my blonde bright and beautiful, alternating between full highlights in the warmer months, and balayage in the winter, when I'm in the mood to let my roots show. She always takes the time to go over what I'm looking for at the time with me, answering whatever questions I may have along the way. I've referred her to so many friends, because it's really not easy to find someone to trust when it comes to color. Salon Envy receives two thumbs way up from me. read more
