I love Mitchell & Co Salon! I have been going here for a few years now and the entire staff is amazing. I've been to four of the stylists and they have all done an amazing job. Incredibly kind people and they are so professional. They are great and I would recommend going hear for a partial highlight and cut over any other salon in the city. I will go here even if I move far away from this location! read more

Mitchell & Co is fantastic. Friendly staff, upscale vibe, and great service. I have been going to Kiona for years - I am a male and get variations of shorter cuts and longer styled cuts, Kiona can do it all! From classic flow to a trendy mullet, she has helped me pull off both. The whole staff at Mitchell & Co is awesome, I can't recommend them enough. read more

I absolutely LOVE this place. I have been going here since it opened and have NEVER been disappointed. I followed Kiona here from another salon because finding someone who cuts short curly hair is incredibly difficult to find. Both her and Bobbi always make sure that I am happy with my cut and always make great conversation. Super clean, modern and lovely facility. Love the entire team. It is extremely convenient for me to be able to book all of my appointments online since my schedule tends to be scattered. Portal is very user friendly and I have never had am issue booking my appointments. Definitely recommend! read more

Both my husband and i get our hair done at Mitchell & Co and absolutely love it. We have both seen multiple people and everyone is WONDERFUL. Bobbi is literally the best person to get highlights from because she is so FAST! There is nothing worse than sitting in a chair all day and i'm so glad to be in and out in an hour. I almost don't want anyone else to learn about her :) They even fit me in the week of my wedding and had Rachel came in early to do my hair- if that isn't customer service i don't know what is. Thank you Bobbi, Kiona, Rachel.. EVERYONE.. we love you guys!! read more

How is this place categorized as one $?? My husband made an appointment for our 14 year old son - our son has easy to cut hair / they charged $60!! I thought the woman said $16.... never again read more

Color by Andreana is amazing! I think a natural looking blonde is tough to find and she nails it every time! Love my hair when I walk out !!!! read more

It has taken me so long to find a great salon again in Chicago and I finally found it thanks to a friend! The owners, Bobbi and Kiona, are fantastic and they both do a stellar job cutting and coloring hair. M&Co has a stylist for pretty much any type of hair. You will feel welcomed and at home the second you walk in the door thanks to their salon manager, Michelle. It has a small, neighborhood feel that is both trendy yet classic. They use high end products with a wide range of uses for all types of hair and hairstyles - R & Co. and Oribe are their staples. As a blonde it's difficult to find a stylist willing to take me as blonde as I want to go but Bobbi isn't scared. Still, she makes it beautiful and healthy; no bleached yellow blonde here! Kiona cuts my fiancé's hair and does a wonderful job of cutting short, trendy men's or women's cuts, as badass or classic as you want. They really pay attention to what you want both today and in the future. Bobbi has a great eye for understanding how your hair will grow out and has helped me achieve a great cut for the awkward in-between stage after cutting my hair incredibly short back in October. She doesn't rush, takes time to understand my goals, and my hair itself. Ladies, you're stellar! read more

I picked to go to this Salon because it was just a short walk from my apartment. I went for the first time to get a cut and full highlight. I was able to get an appointment the same week I called and was greeted by a very welcoming front receptionist. During my first visit, I was scheduled with the owner Bobbi. She was so lovely, did a beautiful job, and gave me a welcome goody bag with sample products. About 2 wks after my visit, I was wanting just a little more blonde put in since more of my natural hair was showing than usual. I went on their website and sent a message explaining this. I got a call a few days later saying they would do this complimentary! I was blown away by this customer service and am so grateful they care about their clients so much. I will be recommending it to friends and family! read more

I stumbled across Mitchell & Co about a year ago and Bobbi has been highlighting and cutting my hair ever since. She's so talented and speedy! I'm usually in and out in 2 hours which NEVER happens and I leave feeling amazing. The color is always perfect and the cut is exactly what I had in mind even if I couldn't quite articulate what I was looking for. The salon itself is always clean and bright and the other stylists and assistants are friendly and professional. I almost didn't want to write a review because the more people who know about this place the harder it's going to be to get an appointment! read more

Such an amazing salon. Nicole has been my stylist for over a year now and I will never get my hair cut anywhere else in Chicago. I leave every time in love with my hair. She also is my Boyfriends stylist. Easy online booking,Friendly staff, email and call appointment reminders and amazing service. read more

I'm getting married in October at 47 years old & want to start getting my skin in better shape. I purchased a Groupon for a chemical peel for what appeared to be Mitchell& Co (it wasn't), and there was quite a bit of confusion around that (for a variety of reasons) but Bobbie the owner was willing to provide the service for free, which I really appreciated. I had a chemical peel with Connie - my first. It was not uncomfortable at all, my skin looks fresher and feels smoother. I ended up booking another appointment with Connie based not only on my experience with her, but also in appreciation of how accommodating and understanding Bobbi was. I didn't get a true "before" pic but I'll start tracking how my skin improves. I purchased an under eye serum/dark spot corrector, which was a little pricey at $55 (To me. I don't spend a lot on cosmetics and such) but it's worth a try . Plus, I felt bad that they were put in that situation (yes, I tipped on the full cost of the peel, which was a reasonable $100.) Groupon acknowledged their responsibility in the confusion and is refunding my money. I would advise bringing a headband if getting a treatment on your face - I had some product in my hair that got in my eyes while I was driving. I lived and can still see, so no biggie. Long story short: great customer service will earn you repeat clients and garner good reviews on social media. read more

Who needed a haircut you might ask... My wife, daughter number one and son number one. After recently moving to the state of big hair and oil, Texas has proven difficult for my wife to find someone that knows how to do anything besides the typical big hair perm. My young daughter has been asking for months now to get her hair cut short. It was all the way down her back, but I would not let anyone cut it. I told her she has to wait until our trip to Chicago before she could get her hair cut. Walking into Mitchell & Co. I knew this was the place. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Now while my wife, son and daughter were getting their hair cut, I still had the two youngest to keep busy. Have you ever tried to keep a 2 and 4 year old occupied at a salon? Well I have, and it is usually not awesome. However, one of the staff members decided to bring out some practice mannequin heads with hair for the kids to play with. They helped the little ones with brushing the hair and pretending to be stylists. It made my job so much easier. My wife loves her hair, my son hasn't had this good of a haircut in years, and well, I want my little girl back. They did such a great job at cutting her hair. It looks great, but somehow she aged a few years in just a matter of minutes. I wouldn't put it back if I could because I know there isn't anyone else I would have let cut her hair. My wife had coloring and a cut and they did a great job. My wife is so happy with everything and how we were all treated that we would never go anywhere else to get our hair cut. All we have to do now is fly to Chicago every month for appointments, oh and pizza, and Italian beef. read more

Love this place! Been going for about three years now and finally found a place where I want to come back to. Both me and my husband go to Kiona and she is fantastic! Can't say enough good things - she is always listening but also happy to recommend what she thinks works great for you! Also see Connie for some services and she is fantastic too, very detail oriented and very kind and patient! Highly recommend! read more

I've been getting my haircut by Kiona for over a year now, and I won't let anyone else touch my hair ever again. She's THAT good. I always come with pictures and ideas and she is honest about what will or won't work with my hair. I always leave feeling like a million bucks. The salon is also very bright and clean and welcoming. They carry high quality products that are well worth the extra money. I highly recommend this place! read more

We love M&Co! Nicole is our stylist. We moved to Chicago in August and I fretted about finding "the place" we could use on a consistent basis. Bobbi and Kiona really know how to build and keep a great team. Nicole cuts my three daughters as well... and everyone, including the customers, have welcomed us... and are just fab! read more

I had such a hard time finding a salon and stylist I was happy with until I came here. The space is so comfortable and inviting, and everyone is so nice. They're not pushy about buying products, but they are incredibly knowledgeable and make great suggestions based on your hair type. Most importantly, Bobbi is an amazing stylist! She takes the time to listen to what I want even when they're slammed. I've loved my cut every time she's done it, and I'm excited to get it colored for the first time next time I go in. I'd recommended Mitchell & Co. to anyone with any hair type - you won't regret it! read more

I've had a few facials before, but none have been as thorough and relaxing as my facial with Connie. She really understood what my skin needed and made sure to keep me informed of what she was doing at each step. My skin has never felt and looked so amazing. I'll definitely be returning for another facial soon! read more

I absolutely love this salon! First amazing haircut I've gotten in the city (been searching for 6 years for the right place!). I'm a low maintenance person in the hair dept so I needed a cut that would look great both styled and air dryed and Kiona gave me just that. Everyone in the salon is super friendly and fun :) I'll be back to get my hair colored soon! read more

Hair- go to Rachel, she's amazing! She doesn't my highlights and cut! She has the best energy to be around and always makes sure I leave happy! Connie- great at waxes! I don't handle them well but she somehow manages to calm me down!! Highly recommend both!! Shoutout to Heidi the most welcoming and sweetest receptionist! Love her! read more

It's so refreshing to be able to write a 5 Star review for a change. :) I had the privilege of going to this salon this past week. I entered with my entire family in tow, frazzled over-processed tips, bad cuts, and long locks in need of a cut. I, frazzled, over-processed tips had Kiona as my stylist. She was super sweet, and knowledgeable. She discussed what she thought had happened to my hair, and together we came up with a plan to fix it. She gave me a great color, a fabulous mask to repair my hair and trimmed the ends leaving me with a wonderful new style and color. My hair is shiny and silky smooth. For my daughter, she gave her her first major cut, and my daughter is thrilled to say the least! My son now looks like a rockstar (his little sister's words) and he even got some great product to help him style his hair. He has two cowlicks that are rich to deal but Kiona again did a fabulous job! No lines, no flips, no stragglers or strays. The entire staff was sweet, and were adoringly attentive to me and the kiddos- not something you see everyday in a salon. Would highly recommend to any of my friends or family. This salon is a must try! You won't be sorry, but your old stylist will be! read more

Mitchell & Co - Our daughter after her cut. - Hair Salons Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

See all

I went for a full facial (90mins) and Brazilian waxing yesterday for the first time. Connie was amazing. She was professional and extremely thoughtful. And the moment I stepped in the spa studio I just felt relaxed and cozy... I almost fell asleep during the waxing (I know, that sounds crazy but it was that comfortable!) Connie made sure she communicated with me about the type/style of waxing I wanted and she did a great job. The facial was great as well and I really liked it. Overall it was very pleasant experience. Will definitely come back! read more

Wonderful place. I'm always getting compliments thanks to Pamela. She's the best! Amazing talent & great personality, to boot. Color, cut - doesn't get better than Pamela! read more

I started going to Kiona at Mitchell & Co about 2 plus years ago when they opened. I absolutely loved the haircut, her, the vibes of the salon. I moved out of town, but would still come back to her when I was in the city. Now, I've since moved back, but am a 30 min Uber from the salon and still go to her. She is literally the best for men's hair and I'm a haircut snob. Would definitely recommend! She just killed my haircut for my wedding. read more

I just moved to the city about a week ago and I was in desperate need of some hair help. I found this salon on yelp and I was not disappointed. The entire experience was great from start to finish. I had the stylist, and co owner, Bobbi working on my color atrocity. After a couple hours my hair looked amazing. It went from a multiple colored golden/brassy mess to an even toned beautiful ashy blonde. I am super glad I found a new hair spot so quickly and easily! read more

This was my first visit. The owner, Kiona, cut my hair. Let's just say I could not have walked out of the salon any happier. The atmosphere is very welcoming, I especially love that it's in a neighborhood and not a shopping center. I would give 10 stars if I could! read more

Nicole, Nicole, Nicole. She is honestly an awesome hair stylist and an awesome person. She's fun to talk to and she always listens to what I want that month. If I say "the usual" she'll go to town and give me an A++ haircut. I've been going to her for years now, and I can't imagine going to anyone or anywhere else. One of my girlfriends went to see Nicole and got an awesome cut, that she was so pleased with, so I know she's awesome with women's haircuts too. The salon carries awesome products that are high quality, which I think shows the quality of the owners and hair stylists. The place is sleek and clean. Can't recommend Nicole or this place enough!!! read more

I have nothing but fabulous things to say about Mitchell & Co. Salon and the wonderful team who works there. The salon is clean, inviting, and professional. All of the staff members are welcoming and kind whether you are waiting for your appointment or getting your hair washed. I have been going Bobbi, one of the salon owners and stylist, for a few years and she has never let me down. In fact, I always love my hair after leaving the salon. She does a brilliant job on coloring my hair (I go from medium brown to a medium coppery red). She definitely gets to know her clients preferences and take the time to make sure everything is done well. I highly recommend her for anyone looking to go red but I have no doubt she can do any color brilliantly. read more

Such a great salon! My aunt was a regular here and recommended it. I had the keratin treatment done to my hair by Kiona, the entire staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. So in love with my hair, she did an awesome job and will definitely be back for other services! read more

I just need to rave a little bit about Kiona and this salon. Kiona and her staff are the absolute best. Ive been extremely satisfied with everything I've had done here. Kiona is a perfectionist and customer satisfaction is clearly a top priority of hers. I've had her cut, color and do a keratin treatment on my hair and everything has always turned out better than expected! She also is super cool and easy to talk to. I would highly recommend seeing her for your next hair appointment! read more

I got my hair cut hereand had a mediocre experience. I have straight hair, so it's not a difficult hair cut. I was taken back for a shampoo close to my appointment time, but had to wait 30mins before my actually cut after the shampoo. I walked away with a mediocre haircut at best. I asked for long layers, but I have a very blunt cut. Zero layers. If think for $65 I'd have an awesome cut. Unfortunately $65 got me a very basic single layer trim with ZERO layering. I would never recommend this salon. It was a good environment, but I feel robbed based on the terrible service. read more

I have been going to Pamela for my hair since I moved downtown in 2014 (when the salon was Avieve Salon). The new owners of Mitchell & Co., Bobbi and Kiona, are very nice, and this continues to be a great salon. Pamela is by far the best hair stylist & colorist that I have ever been to, and I am extremely picky. When I first moved downtown from the suburbs, I would make the hour trek back to the suburbs every time I needed to go to the salon, because I was afraid to try anyone new. I found Pamela just by sheer luck, and she did such a fantastic job that I never went back to my salon in the suburbs. Pamela does amazing color, and my highlights always look so natural and so beautiful. I get compliments all the time on my hair. I am so happy that I found Pamela and I have recommended her to anyone I come across who is looking for a top notch colorist and stylist. read more

I love this salon! Best service and quality I have gotten from any salon in Chicago. Kiona is the best!

Kiona and Bobbi truly know how to make their clients feel welcome! From day one - I felt like a part of the Mitchell & Co family and always look forward to coming in. They work with me on arriving at the perfect style for my hair and always have useful tips and advise. Most importantly - they genuinely get to know their clients and are extremely welcoming to any and all. Thankful for being referred here by a friend and will continue to spread the word how genuinely great Mitchell and Co is to everyone I know! read more

Disappointing customer service. My husband and I have come here for the past 3 years to see our favorite stylist who we absolutely LOVED - so very talented with all kinds of cut and color, very knowledgeable about products, and such a wonderful person as well. She was due to move out of state, so we booked an appointment with her on her last day for one more excellent haircut and a chance to say goodbye. I was going to get her recommendation for another stylist to try at the salon as well, because many of them seem excellent. Unfortunately, the salon neglected to tell us that they actually fired our favorite stylist just days before she was due to leave the salon. Really shocked that they didn't even inform their customers who had bookings or try to re-schedule us with someone else. My customer experience until this point was great and I highly recommended this salon all the time. However, now it seems that customer communication and transparency are clearly lacking. read more

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this place! I came in with a cut I was not loving and was ready to break up with my stylist. Bobbi grabbed some scissors and started to work her magic and 20 minutes later, I left with hair I loved again and a plan to grow this mop out. Bobbi was the first stylist to actually have me put my glasses on and cut my hair to go WITH my glasses instead of cutting my hair for my head and then having it look like crap as soon as my glasses went back on. Since I wear glasses from the moment I wake up until I go to sleep, this was SUPER important to me! Bobbi and Kiona are so wonderful, amazing, warm, supportive, I could just go on and on and on. LOVE THEM!!! read more
