Everything seemed to go fine although they really seemed to want to add a lot of unnecessary procedures to that I wasn't interested in obtaining. And upon speaking with further aesthetic professionals was told that it was definitely looking like a money grab, they wanted to do BBL laser to my already lightly colored lips and learned through other professionals that that particular procedure would have mad them even lighter. I definitely expressed that that was a concern of mine and was interested in doing a lip blushing because they are so lightly colored. So thank God, I didn't listen to their awful recommendations and of course they want to put as much Botox as humanly possible in your face, even though I told her that 38 units was the maximum that I had ever done. In the late evening of the day before my procedure they contacted me to tell me that their medical director had decided not to work with me... less than 24 hours notice! I rearranged my travel schedule and other important dates so that I was able to get the things done that I needed. (as I was put on a month long schedule for certain procedures to be done) The worst part was is that no one could tell me why they decided not to go forward with my treatments. this place may have some nice reviews, but from what I see is major incompetence, immaturity, and unprofessionalism. I had nearly a month between my consultation and the start of my procedures I could have made other arrangements if I had known that they didn't want to work with me. Now I am in need of finding another professional, booking those appointments and I won't be ready for weddings and other special events this Autumn. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I am even willing to post photos of the botched Xeomin application because I don't want anyone else to have the experience that I had at Catara Med Spa. I first came to Catara for Xeomin and filler. The Xeomin was supposed to be applied in my forehead, crow's feet, and bunny lines. I was pleased with the results so naturally I returned three months later for a re-up of Xeomin. My injector looked at her chart, gave me a few pokes and I was on my way. By day 5 the product had started to take effect, but only around my crow's feet and directly above my brows leaving the center of my forehead filled with wrinkles that moved with my facial expressions! I HAVE NEVER had Xeomin settle like that, so I knew that Lily didn't assess the movement in my face before applying the product - she just used the chart and injected at the same sites (I've uploaded photos of my results). I cancelled my follow-up for two weeks and rescheduled another appointment for earlier. I was not going to walk around with a giant wrinkly square on my forehead! I arrived at the med spa and was immediately brought back into the room. I scheduled with the same girl, so I was trying to be nice about her horrible application. I said, "I think we missed a spot" and pointed to my head. She looked at my face and said she was going to get set up. She returned to the room a few minutes later and said her "upset customer" line, "The product takes two weeks to settle. We need to give it time to take full affect". I said, "it has started to settle and there is already a clear ridge showing you didn't apply any to the middle of my forehead. Check your chart and we can apply where there were no injections". She told me she would grab her manager. I sat for at least 10 minutes and just as I was grabbing my keys to leave the manager entered the room. Again, the Manager told me she would not give me more product until 14 days; that I needed to trust the process and that I don't understand how the product works. At this point I was so taken aback that I was being refused service!!!! I literally thought I was being punked! Rather than admit they messed up, the manager kept telling me that I didn't understand "the process"; that I didn't understand how the product works with my face. A product I've been using for over 10 years. I will never return and wouldn't trust them to do more advanced treatments if they couldn't even get Xeomin right. Yikes! Lastly, I went to another spa to fix what Catara Med Spa did to my face. The nurse at the new spa explained she would do her best to "soften" the areas that were pulling on the sides (creating the ridge). She also felt so bad for me that she didn't charge for the five extra units I needed on the sides of my forehead.

I recently visited Authentic Skin and had a facial with Lidia, and I have to say, it was the best decision I've made for my skin. As a guy, facials aren't something I usually think about, but after this experience, I believe more men should definitely give it a try. Lidia has 20 years of experience as a licensed aesthetician, and her expertise is clear from the moment you have a consultation. The session was incredibly relaxing and comfortable, and my skin felt amazing afterward. I never realized how much of a difference a professional facial could make. Lidia's approach is both therapeutic and holistic, addressing not just the skin but overall wellness and stress relief. She knows exactly how to treat skin without over-processing it, providing the nourishing support needed to combat environmental aging. Her skill and dedication are evident in the results. If you're a guy who's never considered a facial before, I highly recommend you visit Authentic Skin. Lidia's treatments are top-notch, and the calming environment makes it a great experience. Trust me, you won't regret it! She has made a lifelong customer out of me for as long as she continues her practice. read more

I truly do not know where to begin with the compliments in regards to Lidia and the facial I had received this past Saturday. First and foremost, i was able to get a hold of her easily. I love that I spoke directly to Lidia to setup my appt. Next, the ambiance of her spa is to die for. It is so calming and beautiful. The background music was extremely relaxing. I have never had a 2 hour facial before. For the first ten minutes she assessed my skin, my needs and what products I use. She definitely knows her stuff! The facial was just heavenly. She gave me a custom facial that included a microderm as well. My skin was just glowing for the rest of the week. My face was free of bumps and my blemishes began to fade away. The one thing that stuck out the most is that unlike other estheticians who push you to visit them every two weeks, Lidia was very honest and recommended that I only need to see her once a month. She truly cares for your needs and works with you to reach your ultimate goal of a perfect complexion. Can't wait until my next facial!! read more

I have started seeing Lidia a bit more than a year ago and I cannot describe enough the progress she was able to accomplish with my skin. To give you some background, I have been fighting acne for years. My skin condition would get better when using antibiotics and various peels (I have even done CO2 laser resurfacing procedure twice to reduce scars!!), but as soon as I stopped medication, acne would come back. I have finally started seeing Lidia for microderm facials, and she picked out products for me to use on a daily basis. The combination of those two things gave wonderful results. My skin cleared up, my scars became less visible and I am looking forward to seeing how much more we can accomplish. Lidia is very knowledgeable, professional and I trust her with my skin entirely. It is not only a beauty procedure, but a great de-stress and relaxation therapy, which I am always looking forward to. read more

Lydia is amazing! I came across her on Yelp after searching through reviews looking for an excellent facialist in Chicago! I've just been for my second appointment and I can't recommend Lydia enough!!! Her attention to detail is amazing, she has you bring all of the products you use and does a thorough review with you. I have been suffering from some adult acne on (I'm 34) on my neck and jaw line which was really getting me down. I also was beginning to get hormonal pigmentation on my forehead and cheeks. The results have been great so far. I was always a bit nervous of a more intense facial with microdermabrasion but the results have been amazing and my skin is really beginning to improve. Lydia is extremely nice and caring and goes the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and cared for. Looking forward to my next facial already! read more

I was a devotee of Lidia's at Kiva for years and am so grateful she is now leading her own business. She also trains others in Hydrafacial too. Which I feel like when someone teaches it to others they know the ins and outs. This was my first time getting a hydrafacial. I saw the data and research about their efficacy and was nervous on finding a great provider. This could not have been a better spot for my first Hydrafacial. Since I live in another area Nunzia described and showed me some things to look out for and ask when I booked one where we live. I appreciate her helping me to become a more educated consumer! I really enjoyed discussing skincare with her. There are not a lot of times when I can discuss ingredients and brands that I like in depth with someone. The experience and Hydrafacial was everything and more that I had hoped it would be! I went in for my congested pores, redness and wanting more of a glow. Her technique is wonderful and my face looked radiant. This really agreed with my skin! She made sure I knew what to and not to do ahead of time and after. I appreciate her care in making sure the best and safest results for my skin! I think she space is lovely, very calming and rejuvenating. I would not hesitate to recommend her and I will be booking with her anytime we are in the area!

She will tell you everything she is doing as she is doing it. She has given me Botox, Juvederm, & Voluma and NO ONE ever believes me when I tell them - she makes it look SO natural. No wrinkles, but my face still moves! :-) Linda is a just a sweetheart - she makes sure to speak to everyone, whether you are seeing her or not! Jill is FANTASTIC! I highly recommend her dermaplaning & chemical peels! They offer GREAT packages if you prefer these treatments regularly. All in all, everyone who works at Goldcoast is just lovely (and they are GREAT advertisements for their treatments - they are all so beautiful). I highly recommend them, especially for nervous first-timers!

I was advised that my face and brows are uneven - which I know they are, haha. But, I think that it might be more about how they do injections because I've had excellent results with a doctor's office in DC (where the nurse made smaller injections and more distributed along my forehead as opposed to injecting more Botox in a few spots. Or perhaps they don't have as much experience with East Asian faces. The team are super nice there, and if there are any undesirable results, they invite you back to make the corrections.

Winter is always tough for me - my skin gets dehydrated but is also prone to clogs, and Carly really helped me get everything cleared and calmed before the big day! She is just the nicest person - she took the time to explain everything that she wanted to use in the facial to me, and made me feel very comfortable. My skin looked clearer and brighter after the treatments, and the whole experience is so relaxing! I love that working with a small business you know your esthetician has lots of experience, and you have the opportunity to see the same person every time and really build a relationship. I'm so glad I found Carly, and will definitely be seeing her again!

The reviews that mainly caught my eye were about Carly so I scheduled a facial with her. I later realized I scheduled it a week further out than I wanted to so I called to see if I could be seen sooner. They texted me back saying they had an opening the day I needed but they didn't say it wouldn't be with Carly. I guess I should've confirmed this but when I specifically requested her I assumed I would automatically be booked with her. I was booked with Jessica instead. When I arrived at 12:25 she greeted me at the door and immediately took me to the facial room. Her consultation was very quick and brief. We began the facial at 12:35 and she was finished by 1:22 so I did not receive a full hour facial. Any skin issues I mentioned to her she just repeated back to me when she was examining my face. I would've liked if she had walked me through the facial process step by step. Everything she put on my face was a mystery. The massage wasn't the most relaxing. My neck was tense the entire time. And while masking I just laid under the infrared light while she sat behind me silently. Almost every facial I've had elsewhere I have received a hand or scalp massage while I masked. Also the music was absolutely horrid. It was not relaxing spa music. It was more like boppy coffee shop music during the entire service. My face felt a bit tight afterwards and Jessica did not give me any product recommendations which bummed me out because I was really hoping to take something new home. Being in this industry myself this was not how I would've given the service. Overall I would not go here again.
