Swerve offers a full suite of services and has a well maintained Instagram if you want to go through individual stylists recent work. I love that they have online appointments which make booking very easy. They've almost always had some availability in a short time frame and offer evening weekday appointments. Prices are really reasonable especially for some of the newer stylists. Prices are clearly listed on their booking system by stylist and service which I really appreciate. I've been with different stylists and they have all been great. Recently had a very great haircut with Emmie who was great about listening to my preferences. Maddy as well did a fantastic color/balayage for me that had grown out well even after a year. I had a minor issue with a service recently and the staff were so so nice about immediately accommodating me for a fix up.

I definitely expressed that that was a concern of mine and was interested in doing a lip blushing because they are so lightly colored. So thank God, I didn't listen to their awful recommendations and of course they want to put as much Botox as humanly possible in your face, even though I told her that 38 units was the maximum that I had ever done. In the late evening of the day before my procedure they contacted me to tell me that their medical director had decided not to work with me... less than 24 hours notice! I rearranged my travel schedule and other important dates so that I was able to get the things done that I needed. (as I was put on a month long schedule for certain procedures to be done) The worst part was is that no one could tell me why they decided not to go forward with my treatments. this place may have some nice reviews, but from what I see is major incompetence, immaturity, and unprofessionalism. I had nearly a month between my consultation and the start of my procedures I could have made other arrangements if I had known that they didn't want to work with me. Now I am in need of finding another professional, booking those appointments and I won't be ready for weddings and other special events this Autumn. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I have been testing out different salons and have been repeatedly disappointed until I met with Sabrina. I initially met her for a consultation and knew immediately she definitely knew her way around curly hair. I scheduled my first haircut with her and anxiously awaited the day. She was utterly fantastic. I can confidently say this is probably the best haircut I've ever received. My hair looks incredible and I'm thrilled because I'm getting married in four weeks. The color even looks better due to the way she cut it even though I had absolutely nothing done with the color. Also, she was very cautious and thoughtful with all of my new allergies I recently discovered that include fragrances, essential oils, and beeswax. I brought my own products with me to ensure I had no allergic reaction. Even still she was gentle and checked in throughout to make sure I was OK. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend. I've already booked my next haircut with her. I'll post some photos. I've washed my hair twice since and did absolutely nothing to style my hair, but look at these curls!

I was hoping to build a relationship with a new med spa because I recently moved to the area. I'd…read morebeen getting Botox, Xeomin, HA filler, and many other services at Med Spas in the Downtown Chicago area for over 10 years and I have NEVER had this happen! I am even willing to post photos of the botched Xeomin application because I don't want anyone else to have the experience that I had at Catara Med Spa. I first came to Catara for Xeomin and filler. The Xeomin was supposed to be applied in my forehead, crow's feet, and bunny lines. I was pleased with the results so naturally I returned three months later for a re-up of Xeomin. My injector looked at her chart, gave me a few pokes and I was on my way. By day 5 the product had started to take effect, but only around my crow's feet and directly above my brows leaving the center of my forehead filled with wrinkles that moved with my facial expressions! I HAVE NEVER had Xeomin settle like that, so I knew that Lily didn't assess the movement in my face before applying the product - she just used the chart and injected at the same sites (I've uploaded photos of my results). I cancelled my follow-up for two weeks and rescheduled another appointment for earlier. I was not going to walk around with a giant wrinkly square on my forehead! I arrived at the med spa and was immediately brought back into the room. I scheduled with the same girl, so I was trying to be nice about her horrible application. I said, "I think we missed a spot" and pointed to my head. She looked at my face and said she was going to get set up. She returned to the room a few minutes later and said her "upset customer" line, "The product takes two weeks to settle. We need to give it time to take full affect". I said, "it has started to settle and there is already a clear ridge showing you didn't apply any to the middle of my forehead. Check your chart and we can apply where there were no injections". She told me she would grab her manager. I sat for at least 10 minutes and just as I was grabbing my keys to leave the manager entered the room. Again, the Manager told me she would not give me more product until 14 days; that I needed to trust the process and that I don't understand how the product works. At this point I was so taken aback that I was being refused service!!!! I literally thought I was being punked! Rather than admit they messed up, the manager kept telling me that I didn't understand "the process"; that I didn't understand how the product works with my face. A product I've been using for over 10 years. I will never return and wouldn't trust them to do more advanced treatments if they couldn't even get Xeomin right. Yikes! Lastly, I went to another spa to fix what Catara Med Spa did to my face. The nurse at the new spa explained she would do her best to "soften" the areas that were pulling on the sides (creating the ridge). She also felt so bad for me that she didn't charge for the five extra units I needed on the sides of my forehead.

I truly do not know where to begin with the compliments in regards to Lidia and the facial I had received this past Saturday. First and foremost, i was able to get a hold of her easily. I love that I spoke directly to Lidia to setup my appt. Next, the ambiance of her spa is to die for. It is so calming and beautiful. The background music was extremely relaxing. I have never had a 2 hour facial before. For the first ten minutes she assessed my skin, my needs and what products I use. She definitely knows her stuff! The facial was just heavenly. She gave me a custom facial that included a microderm as well. My skin was just glowing for the rest of the week. My face was free of bumps and my blemishes began to fade away. The one thing that stuck out the most is that unlike other estheticians who push you to visit them every two weeks, Lidia was very honest and recommended that I only need to see her once a month. I have started seeing Lidia a bit more than a year ago and I cannot describe enough the progress she was able to accomplish with my skin. To give you some background, I have been fighting acne for years. My skin condition would get better when using antibiotics and various peels (I have even done CO2 laser resurfacing procedure twice to reduce scars!!), but as soon as I stopped medication, acne would come back. I have finally started seeing Lidia for microderm facials, and she picked out products for me to use on a daily basis. The combination of those two things gave wonderful results. My skin cleared up, my scars became less visible and I am looking forward to seeing how much more we can accomplish. Lidia is very knowledgeable, professional and I trust her with my skin entirely. Lydia is amazing! I came across her on Yelp after searching through reviews looking for an excellent facialist in Chicago! I've just been for my second appointment and I can't recommend Lydia enough!!! Her attention to detail is amazing, she has you bring all of the products you use and does a thorough review with you. I have been suffering from some adult acne on (I'm 34) on my neck and jaw line which was really getting me down. I also was beginning to get hormonal pigmentation on my forehead and cheeks. The results have been great so far. I was always a bit nervous of a more intense facial with microdermabrasion but the results have been amazing and my skin is really beginning to improve. Through some stroke of luck, I got an appointment here with her when an opening came available. To whoever cancelled last night, thank you!! I got there and started the facial process. Unlike those previous so called facials, Daniela wants to know all about your skincare, allergies, and meds. Her skincare workup reminded me of a doctor's exam. My answers provided her with a roadmap on how to treat my stressed, not loved enough skin. Her facial is excellent down the painful, much needed extractions. She talked with me through the process and asked about skincare issues. Daniela also informed me to stay away certain things to improve the care of my skin which were previously unknown to me. I didn't know that steam rooms were bad for me and could lead to permanently red skin. She also informed me how using too gentle a cleanser had a negative, build up effect on my face. I knew I had sensitive skin, but I was too sensitive with it. I certainly didn't know this beforehand!! After the facial, she provided samples and skincare regiment to heal my improperly cared for visage. I used her samples this morning and saw a dramatic difference already. I can honestly say that this is best facial that I've ever. Nothing compares to care and knowledge that went into getting me ready to be a glowing bride with a well cared for face. But maybe two weeks later, I did have go back for corrections. I got one joker brow and a fold on one part of my forehead again. I was advised that my face and brows are uneven - which I know they are, haha. But, I think that it might be more about how they do injections because I've had excellent results with a doctor's office in DC (where the nurse made smaller injections and more distributed along my forehead as opposed to injecting more Botox in a few spots. Or perhaps they don't have as much experience with East Asian faces. The team are super nice there, and if there are any undesirable results, they invite you back to make the corrections.

The reviews that mainly caught my eye were about Carly so I scheduled a facial with her. I later realized I scheduled it a week further out than I wanted to so I called to see if I could be seen sooner. They texted me back saying they had an opening the day I needed but they didn't say it wouldn't be with Carly. I guess I should've confirmed this but when I specifically requested her I assumed I would automatically be booked with her. I was booked with Jessica instead. When I arrived at 12:25 she greeted me at the door and immediately took me to the facial room. Her consultation was very quick and brief. We began the facial at 12:35 and she was finished by 1:22 so I did not receive a full hour facial. Any skin issues I mentioned to her she just repeated back to me when she was examining my face. I would've liked if she had walked me through the facial process step by step. Everything she put on my face was a mystery. The massage wasn't the most relaxing. My neck was tense the entire time. And while masking I just laid under the infrared light while she sat behind me silently. Almost every facial I've had elsewhere I have received a hand or scalp massage while I masked. Also the music was absolutely horrid. It was not relaxing spa music. It was more like boppy coffee shop music during the entire service. My face felt a bit tight afterwards and Jessica did not give me any product recommendations which bummed me out because I was really hoping to take something new home. Being in this industry myself this was not how I would've given the service. Overall I would not go here again.
