Do not get microneedling here. Please see pictures. I got microneedling with PRP on 11/25 and supposedly, they think I had a reaction to the face mask they put on me afterwards. After the normal redness you get with microneedling went away, I was left with small little bumps and texture all over my face. I am still in the process of healing. I'm not a professional but if the face mask gave me a reaction, I THINK that means that the procedure was done incorrectly where my skin barrier was compromised to the point that a face mask could do this to my face. During the service, I was visibly in pain and uncomfortable and even asked the aesthetician to lower the setting. I'm not overly sensitive to pain and I have gotten this treatment before so I know it's not supposed to be painful. I appreciate the spa giving me a full refund. They offered it right away. However, I need to speak out about this because my face is still not fully healed and it's been almost 3 weeks now. I don't think I have permanent damage but it might have been different for someone else. The last three weeks have been a whole process of buying various products for treatment, no make up, no hot showers, going to bed with a layer of ointment, etc. Additionally, they offered to send me products to help with the healing process, which they have not done so.... I was so excited to end my day with a relaxing facial microdermabrasion. When I checked in I was offered a complimentary beverage. I was a first time client so I didn't know what to expect. I will say once I was called back, I instantly felt rushed. Maybe because it was an hour til closing. Once I laid back, there was a band applied around my head swiftly and my face was wiped. Then the equipment came out. Cream applied on my face and lips and I was sent on my way. 15min exact minutes. Not only did I feel unsatisfied, I questioned the process of preparation before the extractions. I did use a Groupon and had to read what I truly purchased. Even though the purchase was for one session of microdermabrasion or derma planning, I still feel something was missing. As I'm checking it, was a huge chalkboard welcoming new clients and the services that are offered complimentary. As a new client, this was not offered and I felt unwelcome and incomplete with my service. I did take the initiative and booked myself the complimentary mini facial but in Buffalo Grove. I have been coming here for almost a year now for Botox injections. However, I am extremely disappointed with my most recent experience with a VI peel (precision purify plus). I was told briefly by several injectors and estheticians this peel would benefit me for my acne. So i called and scheduled my appointment. When I got into my room, my esthetician did not explain to me the process, the peel, or side effects and/or risk factors. -She did not confirm or ask me what medications I am taking -Did not ask or verify allergies -Did not ask my skin goals or try to build any patient/provider relationship. keeping in my mind this is my first facial or chemical peel, so I had no idea what to expect. She didn't walk me through the process and I was not even aware what she was doing, I had to constantly ask. Over all it was not the most comfortable experience. It felt rushed. The peel burned a lot- and I realize now after looking into it further that the patient is not supposed to use retinols a week before the peel??? If my lady had asked me these important questions then she would know that I have been using my prescription retinol up until the night before. These peels and treatments are NOT CHEAP and now I worry that I will not get the full benefit due to lack of information given to me. The cherry on top is after the peel today I had a casual dinner to go to and I was never told it would leave me looking orange like an Oompa Loompa. I am blown away by the amazing customer service at Viva La Med Spa. They truly value and care about their customer experience and will go above and beyond to ensure customers have a positive and joyful experience all throughout. A great personal touch is that the owner is very involved and personality greets all incoming guests with a warm welcome. They do personalized signs for all new clients as well as a tour and even offer complimentary services, drinks, and snacks. This all contributed to a great first impression and made me feel comfortable and at home which I think is very important when receiving services that are meant to be relaxing or pampering. The last thing you want is to be uncomfortable while trying to relax. Of course, after the outstanding first impression, I came back for additional services. I've gotten lip filler and am doing laser hair removal on two areas. I've had filler before but I don't think I've ever loved my results as much as I do now. I am obsessed with this place. The entire experience from walking in to walking out was incredible. The owner is intentional about introducing himself to new patients and greeting returning patients with joy and kindness which I witnessed multiple times during my first time there. They even put your name up on their TV for a few minutes when you first arrive. The lobby is gorgeous and while I did wait around 20 minutes total in between each of my services, I was never upset by it because they consistently kept me updated, asked me if I was okay, if I wanted anything to drink and/or eat, and apologized anytime I had to wait. From what I saw/was offered, they have juice, water, rosé, wine, and coffee/tea. For snacks, the owner offered fruit. They have a current first-timer special where you can receive ALL of the following services for free: skincare analysis, mini facial, lymphatic massage drainage, B12 injection, free laser on 1 small area. Since botox is also only $10/unit your first time, I decided to give it a try. I felt comfortable with the staff and they explained everything to me. I never once felt like they were giving recommendations for the sake of gaining more money. Instead, I felt the opposite actually. My aesthetician (can't remember her name) let me know what she recommends based on what I told her I wanted fixed, but also made it clear that I didn't "need it". Super disappointed about my overall experience. I have been getting Botox for years and never had such poor results. Before coming here I would get about 50 units and get amazing results. When I came here I was given 70 units the first time, then about 20 more during the touch up. My expectation was that I would be complete frozen after this based on the amount and to be honest, it was the complete opposite. Not only did I pay so much but the results were terrible. Do not do injections here go to a MD/Dermatologist I was not offered numbing cream, looked better before procedure now I have discoloration from the trauma caused. Nurse seemed uninformed and inexperienced could not explain to me why she did not numb me. It was extremely painful and expensive I do not recommend this place and will not return. I decided to try out Viva La Med Spa and I wish I had better things to say. The lobby area was very welcoming and staff were friendly. The owner was super personable and did a wonderful job telling me about all the offerings and different promotions, even walked me back to my appointment room when it was time. Unfortunately, the dermatologist who was handling my injections is where it all went downhill. She told me all the differences in whatever toxin she was using vs botox, fine by me, but it seemed like she had a script to follow as she continued on. She was more interested in having me follow her instagram and capturing my "before" images for her content, than actually engaging with me. I was never asked what I was looking for or how much I had done in the past. I spoke up and said that I wanted to be super conservative and definitely not have a motionless face. Once she got started, it was clear her definition of "conservative" was not the same as mine. She hit my crows feet, which I did not want done and had never had done, but once it was happening, it is sort of too late. I had borderline migraines for the full week afterwards. Almost 2 months later, I still have zero movement around my crows feet area and forehead. It is to the point that if I need to look up (through my eyebrows, if you will), I actually get a headache pretty quickly. Plus, I have a needle phobia, but as long as I close my eyes, I am okay, which I told her, but the process was actually painful and took effort to not jump. You know the "are they hitting bone?" feeling. $500+ later (with promotion!) I'm not coming back, even cancelled my follow up out of fear she would try put more in. I typically spend about $350, so I was ill when they told me the total. Also, something about tipping a dermatologist feels off, but that might just be me. read more

I went to Viva La Med Spa for dysport in my forehead and for my 11 lines. I have gotten this done at other med spas 3-4 times before. Unfortunately, the doctor that did my treatment was really rude and insistent that I needed more units than I had for previous treatments (I was happy with the subtle look in the past and didn't want to go overboard). When she was injecting me, she tried to put dysport into my crows feet even though I specifically said I did not want that treatment. She kept insisting that once I saw her work I would definitely want more units. The two weeks for the dysport to set in have passed and I am not impressed and my eyebrows are uneven. I didn't want to go for a follow up to fix this because I would rather not deal with this doctor again. I heard from others that the nurse injectors are awesome here but sadly I did not have that experience with their doctor. read more

My stomach skin is destroyed and scarred from the C02 laser treatment that I had with Viva La Med Spa. I had treatment on March 23rd 2022 and was told I would be healed and see results in 2 weeks. It is now July 7th, 2022 and I now have irreversible damage to my skin and scarring from the C02 laser, which was on too high of a setting for delicate stomach skin. I have seen several plastic surgeons who have confirmed that this is permanent damage and will only be able to be repaired by removing the skin entirely and pulling down viable skin, what little is left. It's been almost 5 months and I'm still left with square scars from the laser. Please do not come here. My body is ruined from their incompetence. The owner is not trained in these treatments and uses his families medical equipment business to access these high power lasers but has no medical background to oversee such invasive medical treatments. Please for the sake of your health, do not go to this "med spa". read more

I went here to use my Alle 50 units of botox perks and the service was impeccable!!!! Right when I walked in they offered me a variety of drinks including a mimosa and gave me a little goodie bag! They also offer a complementary treatment for first time clients so i also got a mini facial but the owner was SO nice he also offered complementary lazer lip plump! This place almost brought me to tears because of how nice and amazing the people who work here are. I am so happy to finally find a medspa that treats their customers like royalty and provides the most amazing service. Their prices are also amazing and truly the best i've found in the city.
