Swerve offers a full suite of services and has a well maintained Instagram if you want to go through individual stylists recent work. I love that they have online appointments which make booking very easy. They've almost always had some availability in a short time frame and offer evening weekday appointments. Prices are really reasonable especially for some of the newer stylists. Prices are clearly listed on their booking system by stylist and service which I really appreciate. I've been with different stylists and they have all been great. Recently had a very great haircut with Emmie who was great about listening to my preferences. Maddy as well did a fantastic color/balayage for me that had grown out well even after a year. I had a minor issue with a service recently and the staff were so so nice about immediately accommodating me for a fix up.

Regarding Repeated Misrepresentation of Restylane Promotion - I have reached out numerous times to speak to the doctor that owns this place - no response. There is one nurse injector, specifically, that in my experience, is nothing more than an over-qualified sales person. Here is the email I sent to the company and never heard back. Horrible! I request this email be directed to the male doctor that owns Pure Med Spa and Dr. Danuta - I am writing to provide feedback regarding a series of experiences across multiple locations that have resulted in a significant loss of trust in your brand. Last week, I scheduled an appointment at your Oak Brook location specifically to purchase the advertised Restylane under-eye promotion for $399. I clearly stated this to the injector, Nicole, at the outset of my visit. Before any meaningful discussion could take place, she dismissed my request and insisted that under eye treatment was not what I "needed," instead pushing cheek filler at an estimated cost of approximately $1,500. I did not feel heard, respected, or clinically consulted. Rather than receiving expert guidance grounded in education and collaboration, the interaction felt prescriptive and sales-driven. I ultimately chose to leave without receiving any treatment. Instead of earning the $399 I arrived prepared to spend, your company received no revenue from that visit. After this experience at the Oak Brook office, I scheduled an appointment at your downtown location. I live in Batavia, Illinois, which required an hour-and-twenty-minute drive, paid parking, and significant effort on my part to see a different injector--hoping for a more transparent experience. At that appointment, I was again told that the advertised $399 promotion would actually cost $550 because the treatment was for the under-eye area and "required an additional level of skill." This explanation was presented as standard policy, despite the promotion containing no terms, conditions, exclusions, or qualifiers regarding injection site or variable pricing. This is deeply concerning. If under-eye placement truly requires additional expertise and cost, that information should be clearly disclosed in the promotion. Without that transparency, this practice is misleading and undermines client trust. Because I had already traveled a considerable distance, I paid the $550. However, I did so under protest and left the appointment feeling manipulated rather than cared for. Given that the promotion explicitly advertised a $399 Restylane treatment with no stated exclusions, I am requesting a refund of the $150 difference that I was charged beyond the promotional price. I have been a client of your salons for several years and expect your injectors to operate as trusted medical professionals--not as sales representatives incentivized to upsell. The consistency of this experience across multiple locations suggests a broader issue with training, transparency, and promotional integrity. A Warning to All but Specifically People of Color My experience at Pure Med Spa was nothing short of a disaster, and I feel compelled to share my harrowing ordeal to prevent anyone else from falling victim to their utter lack of professionalism and competence. I went in for laser hair removal on my bikini area and stomach, a decision that should have been accompanied by comfort and assurance from the staff. Instead, I was met with a technician who was clearly under qualified for the job. This technician continuously pushed me to increase the treatment levels, yet couldn't provide me with any information about how the new levels would feel or what the sensation of the procedure would be like. It was as if I was being treated as a guinea pig rather than a paying customer seeking safe and effective treatment. The nightmare didn't end there. During one of my sessions, I was horrified to see smoke rising from my private area and stomach. When I voiced my concern to the technician, she dismissively claimed it was normal. However, the agony I experienced that night was anything but normal. The areas were severely burned, causing excruciating pain that persisted for weeks. The fact that this "smoke" incident was brushed off as a non-issue is beyond comprehension. Adding to the chaos was the fact that the spa was constantly switching between different laser machines due to one being out of commission. These machines were from different brands and types, which meant there was no consistency in treatment levels. It's as if they were using a trial-and-error approach with no regard for the potential risks and consequences to their clients' skin. What's even more shocking is that the technician responsible for my trauma eventually quit, only for a new technician to take her place without any notification to me. This new technician was completely unaware of my treatment levels and skin type. When I inquired about her plan for my remaining sessions, her nonchalant response that she was going to "wing it" left me speechless and terrified for my safety. As a person of color, I feel it's crucial to emphasize that this establishment does not prioritize the well-being of individuals with diverse skin tones. The lack of knowledge, care, and professionalism I experienced during my time at [Medical Spa Name] is a blatant reflection of their disregard for the safety and satisfaction of their clients. In conclusion, I implore anyone considering Pure Med Spa for laser treatments to look elsewhere. The pain, trauma, and damage I suffered due to their incompetence is not worth the risk. People of color, in particular, should steer clear of this place, as they have proven time and again that they are not equipped to provide safe and effective treatments for diverse skin types. I visited Pure Med Spa with high hopes of finding a solution to my intense ingrown hair problem on my face. Initially, I was drawn in by the friendly and kind staff who assured me that laser hair removal would be suitable for my darker skin tone. However, my experience turned into a nightmare. Burns and Skin Damage (1/5): After each appointment, I experienced severe burns, causing my skin to peel off. This left me feeling more self-conscious than ever before. The burns were not only physically painful but also emotionally distressing. Lack of Accountability (1/5): What made this experience even worse was the apparent lack of accountability from the staff. Instead of acknowledging the issues I was facing, I felt like I was being gaslit. They continuously placed the blame on me, insisting that I was not taking care of my skin properly, despite following their instructions diligently. Recommendation for People of Color (1/5): If you are a person of color, I strongly advise you to stay away from Pure Med Spa. My personal experience with them was traumatic, and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same ordeal. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience here with filler. I had lip filler done by Dr. Danuka and cheek filler at the skokie location. It was my first time doing any kind of cosmetic filler so I did not know truly how poor the technique was until I got filler elsewhere. SO long story short, I thought lip filler was supposed to be excruciatingly painful... Boy, was I wrong! Really, I was not even able to finish my syringe because it hurt so, so, so much. They put numbing cream on me for no more than 5 minutes before quickly injecting my lips. I swear, I could feel every single prick of the needle and it felt as though it was being roughly shoved into my lips. I was waiting in the lobby for 30 min... They could have given me numbing cream way earlier than that. Not sure how much it would have helped considering how poor the technique was; I mean, it really did lack grace. I got my lips filled 6 months later at another place and felt ZERO pain and with much better results. After visiting Pure Med Spa, my lips were bruised and swollen for almost 2 weeks. It was so painful after injections that I spent the first 2 days unable to eat and in so much pain. This is not the way it is supposed to be!!!! DO NOT go here, please. I've been going to Pure Medical Spa since they opened! My first favorite injector relocated to another city. So I was set up with a part time injector, Nadia for my quarterly touch up. Nadia was not professional nor educated. She has a terrible personality (she acts and speaks as if she is a top tier injector when she is not), her bedside manners are non-existent (she had me waiting for over 40 mins), unfriendly attitude (behaves as if she is the bomb when she is not) and her injections are very painful. Fast forward, I visited with a new injector that was highly recommended by the reviews I'd read and direct from my favorite injector: Jezmine! First, not only is Jezmine a kind person - as a licensed practitioner she listens, she is attentive, and she is smart (she customized a treatment plan for my aging concerns). Second, she provides education on each of the products and injection sites, allowing me to be at ease. Lastly, she followed up with me during the second week to check if all the products were settling and that I had no adverse reactions. What more could you ask for? Being a practitioner in the clinical arena myself, I hight recommend her. Jezmine IS the GOAT for injections at Pure Medical Spa. LOVE HER! read more

My face is ruined for $1000+. Do not go to this awful immoral and bullying company. I went for jaw botox for my teeth grinding and forehead botox for my big vacation in February. I was persuaded to do a lipflip and bottom face botox which I did not ask for. Within 24 hours, I couldn't talk or move my face. I couldn't smile, my lips are dramatically stuck out, and uneven when I smile. I didn't panic and kept my visibility to a minimum for 3 weeks while I waited for the end results. It got worse. I spent 2 weeks trying to see the girl who did my treatment. They finally sent me to Oak Brook on a Friday night to be told they injected the wrong place and there's nothing they can do. After 30+ texts and calls of distress, I was just now called by the owner woman who laughed and said, "It's not permanent, move on... I'm sure your husband won't leave you". When I said I want them to correct the situation she said "you'll lose, you do what you want to do and I'll do what I want to do" and hung up. I have never, EVER in my life been treated like this. Despite the huge unplanned bill, you get what you pay for with this place, don't make the same mistake I did. I hope this helps someone avoid what has happened to me. read more

I've been dealing with bad, hormonal acne for the majority of my life. I've seen multiple dermatologists, and all of them prescribed different medications that either didn't help much or had me on multiple medications at once. I didn't want to continue being on so much medication at such a young age while still dealing with the same skin issues. However, Kelsey has done wonders for my skin and has brought my scarring and overall skin complexion a long way. I have been to Dr. Danuta a couple of times now, and will probably continue to go to her forever! She is extremely knowledgeable and really strives to make you look great. It was my first time using PURE Chicago medical practice headed up by Dr Danuta, and her amazing staff. I wanted to improve my face including reduction of fine lines and scars. I had the micro-needling done with the patented Skin Pen. It was amazing. I was numbed with lidocaine and the whole procedure only took 30 minutes. I had my first and second Botox treatments done in January and in April. Juan Carlos did an outstanding job from start to finish. I am incredibly happy with the results. Both times he explained in clinical detail the process, potential side effects - minor of course - and expected results. I feel very confident and happy with how I see my face now in the mirror thanks to him. He is the best of the best to go to for treatments. I have been visiting this place for 4 years in a row. Once a year I take Botox injections and each time I met with a different specialist in this segment of cosmetology. I was advised that my face and brows are uneven - which I know they are, haha. But, I think that it might be more about how they do injections because I've had excellent results with a doctor's office in DC (where the nurse made smaller injections and more distributed along my forehead as opposed to injecting more Botox in a few spots. Or perhaps they don't have as much experience with East Asian faces. The team are super nice there, and if there are any undesirable results, they invite you back to make the corrections.

Tldr: left before receiving service due to deceptive business practices and upcharging advertised…read moreprice of product, despite posted price online and confirming over the phone I had an appointment with Dr. Sabau at the Old Town Medspa, Naava River North location. We discussed what I was there for and what she would be providing. Upon telling me that she would be providing me a certain product (at 22 units) at the price posted online ($5 per unit), she then said that she dilutes the product and would be giving me approximately 60 diluted units of the product. I asked how much of the product I would be receiving in total, because we had talked about and agreed upon 22 units, and she confirmed it would be 22 units of full product. I then stated that based on the price indicated online, and confirmed over the phone with me, I was expecting to pay $5 per unit, which would be approximately $110 total. Dr. Sabau told me that even though I am receiving real 22 units and that the online price is $5 per unit, I would be expected to pay extra because she arbitrarily diluted the product to 2.5 times less than the full product, and would be responsible for approximately 60 of these diluted units. She continued to say that the online price is misleading and that it is more like $12 per unit to account for the diluted product they provide. It is importantly to note that at no time while booking my appointment was I told the product would be diluted, nor was I told what the product was filled with meaning she was trying to give me an unknown substance along with the service I was there for. I left shortly afterwards and while I don't know if this is an aspect of the company having deceptive practices and advertising, or if Dr. Sabau was going rogue and overcharging her customers, I left bewildered and completely unsatisfied over being flagrantly lied to, wasting my time coming to Old Town Medspa at the Naava location. While I cannot speak to the quality of service because I left without continuing with my service, please beware this company and location that they were caught changing the advertised price of a product.
