Tldr: left before receiving service due to deceptive business practices and upcharging advertised price of product, despite posted price online and confirming over the phone I had an appointment with Dr. Sabau at the Old Town Medspa, Naava River North location. We discussed what I was there for and what she would be providing. Upon telling me that she would be providing me a certain product (at 22 units) at the price posted online ($5 per unit), she then said that she dilutes the product and would be giving me approximately 60 diluted units of the product. I asked how much of the product I would be receiving in total, because we had talked about and agreed upon 22 units, and she confirmed it would be 22 units of full product. I then stated that based on the price indicated online, and confirmed over the phone with me, I was expecting to pay $5 per unit, which would be approximately $110 total. Dr. Sabau told me that even though I am receiving real 22 units and that the online price is $5 per unit, I would be expected to pay extra because she arbitrarily diluted the product to 2.5 times less than the full product, and would be responsible for approximately 60 of these diluted units. She continued to say that the online price is misleading and that it is more like $12 per unit to account for the diluted product they provide. It is importantly to note that at no time while booking my appointment was I told the product would be diluted, nor was I told what the product was filled with meaning she was trying to give me an unknown substance along with the service I was there for. I left shortly afterwards and while I don't know if this is an aspect of the company having deceptive practices and advertising, or if Dr. Sabau was going rogue and overcharging her customers, I left bewildered and completely unsatisfied over being flagrantly lied to, wasting my time coming to Old Town Medspa at the Naava location. While I cannot speak to the quality of service because I left without continuing with my service, please beware this company and location that they were caught changing the advertised price of a product. read more

I had a remarkable experience at this particular location of Old Town MedSpa. To begin with, I've been interested in a VI Peel for quite some time and I had been calling various different offices in the Chicago area. I finally called Old Town MedSpa and they were able to book me the same day! Upon arrival, the office was very clean and the check-in process was super easy (paperless - which I prefer). I had the pleasure of having Rebecca, who is the esthetician, administer the peel. She was very informative and has experience working with darker skin tones so I was put at ease. Currently, I am on day 3 post peel and I have already starting peeling just as Rebecca mentioned I would. I am excited about the results to come! I came with a Groupon for laser hair removal and there are some pluses, but, in short, don't waste even your discounted money. The positives: The place is clean The parking is easy The front desk women and the technicians are super nice The scheduling is very easy The overwhelming negative: The laser hair removal is ineffective. After 6 sessions, I wasn't seeing the same results I saw with my dermatologist after 3 or 4 visits. Thus, I came clean to my beloved dermatologist and told her I had been unfaithful. She forgave my cheating ways and advised I get my medical records from Old Town med spa and she would improve on their works. Simple enough, right? Wrong! It took about 4 hours and 6 phone calls to get my records from Old Town med spa. They wouldn't fax the info to my doctor. I asked for the medical release form and they said my dermatologist would have to provide that. Shady. They should have given me the form to release my records to whomever I wanted, but when they refused I then said I would come pick it up. Even with my offer to come pick up the single photo copied piece of paper, there were numerous delays. It seemed as if they were stalling for time as though the record didn't exist. After the 6th phone conversation of the day, I am invited to pick up my paperwork. I arrive and I made to go into a room to see the doctor. In my previous 6 visits, I have never seen this doctor! He essentially pulled me in a small room to give me the time share pitch "why are you unhappy?' "how can we improve?" "Why do you want your records?" "Where are you going next?" and so forth. I don't mind answering questions, but the fact that I wasn't allowed to get my records until I talked with this stranger was irritating. It seemed they were holding my records hostage under the guise of "friendly" questions. I give the records to my dermatologist and she legitimately laughed. Even with the lasers they use, she said the settings were wrong for my skin. Based on what old town performed, I shouldn't expect notable hair reduction according to my dermatologist. I wish I hadn't been cheap and just paid to have it done right the first time. The sales and packages may be tempting, but nothing is more expensive than your time correcting cheap work. read more

Also, put botox in places I had never had before, which I am very happy the way I look! I will be making this my new spot! Also, I had a hydra facial. It was great! My skin always gets a little red. I went to Old Town MedSpa to get the VanquishMe procedure done as I researched that it could cover more area than CoolSculpting. While the procedure is a bit expensive it has been completely worth it. I have never been able to get rid of the pouch of fat in the lower part of my stomach and VanquishMe actually reduced it a lot and I felt like this was an amazing non-surgical fat reduction procedure, couldn't have asked for better results. This location was always clean and the technician that did each procedure was very nice and always answered any questions I had. If your looking for a non-surgical way to get rid of fat I would definitely recommend this! read more

I walked over 1 mile to Old Town MedSpa on Lincoln Ave. The recording on the voicemail says they are open until 8pm Monday through Friday, the sign on the door says, the website, and Google all say 8pm Monday through Friday. I got there at 5:30 and they were closed. Some one called me back and said the new hours on Friday is 6pm. I still cannot believe they left at 5:30 when they close at 6. I can't even explain how happy I am to have found Old Town MedSpa I have been battling acne and oily skin since I can remember. Jennie has been amazing she got me on a schedule for regular peels and facials. I was also never one to have an actual skin regime, she recommended a small amount of products that are very manageable and have literally changed my skin! Disappointed. I got thread lifts there in November. This was my first time and I was really excited. It's now February and there has been ZERO improvement in my skin. I could tell immediately after that the threads had been placed superficially as I could feel the ridged threads through my skin. I went to a different medspa in January and they confirmed that the threads were not supportive enough. I spent over $3000 there and I have nothing to show for it but a bruise and divet in my cheek that won't seem to go away. Vanquish Fat Reduction. I have long considered Vanquish for my stubborn fat around my midsection. It IS an investment at roughly $500 per session (requiring at least 4 sessions), but It WORKS!!! I have personally experienced roughly 8 pounds lost (along with my normal 3x per week workouts). More astoundingly, I am down about 3 inches so far (and supposedly the body continues to flush out the fat even after treatment for weeks, or even months). It uses radiofrequency to KILL the fat cells across a large swath of the midsection. Coolsculpting is the only other treatment that permanently KILLS fat cells, but I was not interested because Coolsculpting only treats small areas (the size of a butter stick). I was reluctant to fork over the $$$$ but I'm glad I did. I can now be comfortable with my shirt off, see results from exercise that never seemed to work in my ABs area, and rest assured it will not come back like other treatments..... I had Agnes laser and Scarlet laser at Old Town in March of 2020. I had a very small face with very little fat and dr Nael convinced me that I needed all this fat removed from my jawline both above and below my jaw. He charged extra for the amount below the jaw. This procedure melts the fat from the face. I was left with the right side of my face gone. I went in for the follow up and he said. It's supposed to tighten the skin. But it didn't, I was left with an uneven face and thin dripping skin on the right side of my face. He did nothing to make this right for me. I was looking for a Botox touch up and was seeing if maybe there was a Groupon deal anywhere and noticed this was one of the few places that did, and actually got good reviews, so I decided to go for it. I really liked the ease of the online scheduling and the option for evening and weekend times. The place was very clean, chic, and cozy and the staff very friendly. Donna, the nurse I found to be very attentive andprofessional and answered any and all questions I had about injectables. I waited a week and a half to post my review to see how my Botox settled in, and I love it. My forehead looks so smooth and I definitely don't look frozen. I want to give this place 5 stars because of the aesthetician I saw, Jenny, who did my hydrafacial. (IF YOU'RE GOING FOR ANY SKIN TREATMENT, BY ALL MEANS, GO!) My skin has been nothing short of beautiful since my hydrafacial 2 weeks ago. She was awesome and ultimately made me want to come back for botox by one of the owners/doctors. I have had botox/dysport 3 times before in the same area each time, (my forehead), and there has been something I haven't liked (I also have gone to different medspas and next time I will definitely be going to an actual plastic surgeon). I have horizontal lines and strong 11's (glabella's) and typically get both treated but have always had either an issue with the ends of my brows raising, no thank you, or even worse, the front of my brows drooping. I explained this to Dr. Gharbi and he seemed to think what I was saying was out of the question and a ridiculous, he was hesitant to answer my questions and responded with "if this happens there isn't much we can do but you can come back and we don't charge for touch-ups". When I told him I was worried about my face looking the way it did the last time I had botox/dsyport, and showed him a photo he said it looked normal and didn't know what I meant. He didn't tell me how many units of Dysport he would be using (until I asked) and I also had to ask where he was injecting. He told me how many units he wanted to use and I said that was too many, so we went down 15 units, thank god. Once he started, he was very quick and rough with the needle, I have a high pain tolerance and barely feel the tiny needle when I get it done, so it wasn't the poke that bothered me, just the way he handled my face. I felt he did it without precision/care and didn't go over ANY before/after procedures with me. He also left blood on my forehead before I asked him to wipe it off! It's been a week and the dysport has completely kicked in. My horizontal lines are gone and my forehead looks great, but of course, 2 nights ago my left eye was bothering me so much... it just felt like I couldn't look up correctly and was straining so much just to look up to carry on a conversation that I was getting a headache. I slept on it hoping maybe I was just overthinking it or tired, but no, two days later and my left front of my brow has dropped (no issues with the right side, just the left). I've been taping my eyebrow up at work just so I don't get a headache from straining my eyes up. It's not even that it looks very bad, it's just how my left eye feels and the headaches I am getting from it.) I am tempted to go back to see what he says but do not want my face any more uncomfortable than I currently feel. Long story short, go to an actual plastic surgeon to get botox done if you want it perfect. read more

Dr. Gharbi does great work, I came in unhappy with my appearance due to stress from my divorce. He is an artist with fillers and botox, I had both procedures done and it has given me renewed self-confidence. Dr. G is a good listener and is deft with the needle, I didn't feel any pain! About a week later I had body sculpting on my flanks by Jennie and I couldn't be happier though I still have a few more treatments left. While I was there Dr. G came in to check on how my filler and botox was settling and to make sure I was happy with the results - I liked the extra touch. The med spa has an excellent variety of medical grade products to supplement and maintain the effects of the estheticians treatments. The doctors are PHENOMENAL. Drs. Shazel and Nael take the time needed to explain procedures and recommend treatments without making you feel rushed or pressured. I have loved the results of the injectables: botox and dermal fillers. I have undergone several liposuction treatments with skin tightening and the results speak for themselves. My comfort has been their concern each time I have undergone a treatment and I can honestly say I had really NO PAIN during the liposuction procedures.
