I do feel as if the front desk lady, I think her name is Erica, has always been rude and acts as if she'd rather be anywhere else, which puts a damper on my mood after spending hundreds of dollars there each time.. Be very careful when you buy packages from this place! I bought a IPL package and unfortunately I developed allergic reaction after the 4 treatment. Took me 3 weeks , visit to my physician and a week of Prednisone(corticosteroid) to remedy the situation. And now is back and fourt why they can't return the money for the rest of treatment (about $585). I had a very difficult time with my crazy swollen face, red patches, rash and peeling skin and this people think that I will come back for more?!?! Keep your money and go somewhere else! read more

I also had the Groupon for the dermaflash facial, and thought it was... fine. I wasn't blown away by all these other reviews here...am I missing something???? I have had only a few facials in various spas, and they all seemed superior to this one. SO maybe that's just me! But here's my experience: I walked in to the white, bright, clean "office" and the receptionist seemed a bit half-hearted to be there. That's ok, I've had my share of bad days, so whatever. She gave me some paperwork to fill out and I went to sit down. When I was finished I took it back asking her if she needed it and she looked at me and said uh no, that's for your aesthetician. Ok, I didn't know, don't make me feel like a dummy, cupcake! I then had a consultation with Beth, who was lovely, and the treatment - which was fine, didn't leave me too red, put on makeup right away, felt very glowy. However the process includes them basically "shaving" your face - cleaning off all the peach fuzz and baby hairs. So for a couple days yes, my skin was super soft, like your legs would be after you shave them. Did I notice a huge difference otherwise? Not really. Back at reception Beth suggested a product and also a package special they were offering; I declined as I said I wanted to see how it was in a couple days. She generously offered to extend the offer to me through the weekend so I could make up my mind - and she wasn't pushy at all, which I appreciated. She left, and I got my things, wanting to put on some makeup somewhere. The receptionist was on the phone, not really aware that I was there. She finally hung up and after I asked my question pointed at a room I could use that was empty. Fine. When I was done putting on my makeup, I needed the restroom - and the receptionist was messing around behind the desk, again oblivious to my presence. I finally got her attention and she pointed me in the direction of where I needed to go (ha ha). Now, maybe it's not such a big deal to some people, but I appreciate a welcoming and helpful person up front - whether it's a spa, a doctor's office, or what have you. It makes SUCH a difference. This is the first and last person you see when arriving at/leaving an establishment - first impressions are so important! So if you're going to hire some young thing to "work" up front, at least train them in a few good manners. I felt a little bit ignored and this left a bad taste in my mouth. Obviously a lot of people had good experiences, but this place is not for me (despite the lovely Beth). Gonna spend my money elsewhere for sure. read more

The first time I went for Botox the doctor was amazing and I was thrilled that follow up visits has a competitive pricing structure--$12 a unit. I remember this because I noted it was the same as my other spot on North Ave, and though the nurse in Lincoln Park was wonderful, cellular intelligence was closer. Now that I knew the price was the same why wouldn't I switch? Well I did and guess what? Second appt, I came out of the room and the receptionist charged my card. Suddenly the price was $15 a unit. It was a shock to be paying almost $100 more...... And to be honest the doctor was obviously not clear return visits would be more expensive than my initial visit. I did like her, and her work, but I'm not into the bait and switch game these places seem to play. read more

Nice place and staff, but my treatments were a disappointment. I've had numerous IPL treatments done in the past at other facilities that have worked well and I achieved immediate results. After 2 treatments here, I have no change in my pigment. I'm aware that people will say it takes multiple treatments to achieve the desired results, but I know from first-hand experience how my skin should have and has reacted previously (and how the estheticians described the reaction that should occur, with pigment coming to the surface and flaking off), and I had none of this from either session. I was hoping to specifically target some noticeable sun spots and acne discoloration, and all of these spots are completely unchanged. I would consider CI again for other treatments, but I'm not convinced in the quality/application of their lasers. Update - I went somewhere else (iBeauty - 4 months later) and had amazing results from a single treatment. Definitely the CI laser/technicians that were the issue. Dropping my review further now that I'm positive it was their fault I saw no reaction/results from two separate treatments. read more

Waste of time. I told my girlfriend about micro derm-needling. She went to this spot who told her they could not tell her how much it cost until they see her. I warned her that's a red flag and not to spend more a specific $. She paid $200 & was pleased. My experience wasn't pleasant. Was advised $300 a single session and never has it been less. What a shame after my girlfriend just recently went for her visit here. Foul business from a business owner. I highly recommend if your seeking to visit this place, okay sure. Yet I highly recommend not telling you very late past of cosmetic surgeries as I see they size your wallet as my girlfriend who went had never had anything done besides breast augmentation. Aside of that, the staff is nice. The facility is small. Yet clean environment. I'm disappointed that my valuable time has been wasted. And okay, I do not write many reviews unless I'm super happy as a touring Model & Actress and wish to re visit or not specific places, also share with others my personal experience. What a waste of uber xl, gas, ozone! And you had the nerve to ask for a review in my inbox. I would have paid the $300 had you not lied about the price company. Do not get dermal filler here. Everything is good until something goes wrong and they do not listen to what the client wants. I was told my cheek looked "gaunt" and the advice was to fill the area only to result in it looking irregular once the swelling subsided. The cannula placement left a 1/4" permanent scar in the cheek and I was told "I didn't do that". Yet during the procedure, the technician advised of "concern over the area" and I have subsequent photo's showing its healing. The amount of filler placed in the cheek area is such that it looks like an unnatural raised bump. An attempt to resolve and dissolve the filler was unsuccessful and there was no refund offered. Instead of an apology and plan to correct, the remedy is more of a cover up to avoid any wrongdoing with patronizing defensiveness. It would be great if they had just listened. read more

I have been going to Lisa for my Botox at cimedspa for almost a year now. The first time I met Lisa was also my first time inquiring about Botox. She was so sweet and instantly made me feel comfortable while giving me a lot of information to take in. I look forward to my appointments with her and leave happy every single time! I prefer giving this place absolutely no stars but unfortunately that's not an option. Save your money and do not go there. I called to get quote for cool sculpting for under chin, they refused to give quote over the phone so I went in for consultation. They looked at my face for 2 seconds without a mask and said yes your a great candidate. They recommended I do 2 treatments 1 month apart to see the best results (it made since so I I was going to pay $1500 for 2 sessions. The next day I went in for the actual procedure and as she was about to start she tells me that My chin is not super big so she will do the right half of the chin 1st and then the left half (also made sense) and then I was told each side is considered an individual procedure so $1500 just for today. My jaw dropped because now I'm spending double the cost. And when I raised a concern she goes "oh they didn't tell you that yesterday?" And in my head I was like who is they she is referring to she is the one who saw my face the day before. And the. She tells me your so small you definitely don't need more than 1 procedure so you don't have to come a month later this will all go away after today. And then I was like "they were you telling me yesterday I absolutely need 2 and scheduled me for 2 appointments????? Literally consultation was just to take my non-refundable deposit so that I get stuck with the procedure. Very disappointed. read more

Diane never rushes; she takes the time to analyze your skin and recommends ONLY what's needed. She makes sure you're getting the best products for your skin type. She has truly become my trusted beauty advisor! Services aren't cheap over there, but it's because you're getting someone like Diane who has been doing this for years and products that are top of the line, and only high quality. My only critique is that sometimes you can tell that scheduling that day might have taken a hit and when you're appointment time hits, you're taken late, which can be frustrating, but I see this as something that's separate and distinct from the actual beauty service (which I am extremely happy with!). As described by others, the facial does not hurt, takes about 45 minutes and your skin looks wonderfully clear and even when finished. Beth explained the facial steps before starting so I understood completely what to expect. My experience with Beth (and Maria at the front desk) was pleasant and very professional. Can I say 'WOW'? WOW! I said it. I actually stumbled upon Cellular Intelligence as I was researching into cool sculpting and what it actually was. This was the first and only company I called and Laura was the first person I spoke to. She had me at "hello!" She was very friendly, easy to talk to, very informational and I couldn't wait to get in for a consultation as the whole ideal of cool sculpting was very new to me and intriguing. I made it to my consultation, asked millions of questions and I was sold and did my first experience with cool sculpting on the same day. The salon is very clean, everyone is very friendly, welcoming, very accommodating and flexible. I loved the cool sculpting that I actually came back for more several times and I've seen great results from it. Not only did I go to Cellular Intelligence for cool sculpting, I also go there for facials, laser hair removal and most importantly, the Ideal Protein program. First, let's start with the facials. It's a facial that I've never had before and I'll continue to go there for my facials. I'm usually not a facial type person but CI, Carrie and Norma proved me to think differently. I did a facial right before my wedding and my skin was so perfect on my wedding day. For the laser hair removal? Why haven't I done this before? I've been waxing almost every 2 weeks of my life and once Laura told me about this service, I was hesitant but tried it. Again, I should have believed her from the beginning but Norma and Rebecca have been great at this service and I'm so glad that I've been able to cut out some time and money from waxing. Now, the Ideal Protein program? This program got me and it is well worth it. I was ready to put all my effort into getting the body I wanted to and more importantly in the most healthiest way possible, especially before my wedding. I had 4 months to get rid of this weight. After researching and learning about Ideal Protein from CI Spa, Laura and Martha, I was sold again. How could I not trust them after the other experiences I've had with the salon? I had my consultation, was 100% ready to start this program, although skeptical, but after the first week, it was working. I had lost 35lbs in 3 months and I'm at my goal weight and am feeling 100% more confident. Not only that but my health is 100% better; I've been able to cut out all of the prescriptions that I was on too. If it weren't for Laura and Martha coaching me all the way through, almost every day, at least every week, I wouldn't be where I am today. I still see them. A good friend gave me a gift certificate for the DermaFlash facial. I didn't know what to expect, but was very happy with the results. I went to the spa, on Walton--it is on the 4th floor, I'd call it discreet. It was very modern and clean and the receptionist was nice--a good sign. Beth did my facial and she was great. They used a blade to remove my dead skin cells (not painful) and the whole facial took about 45 minutes--she explained what she was doing as she was doing it, which was nice. After the facial, my face GLOWED! Random people that I work with told me that my skin looked great. Since my first experience, I've been back to Cellular Intelligence 2 more times (I bought the six session package and go once a month for this treatment). I feel the need to write a warning since they are having another sale on botox/fillers. I didn't write a review right away because I wanted to forget about this experience!!! I wanted fillers in the tear ducts, which was suggested to me . I ended up with 2 lumps next to my nose. And the following day I was so swollen I couldn't see!!! When I called crying they pretty much laughed and said it was normal, and take Benadryl!?? FAR from normal, as I have been using fillers/botox in the past. I jumped on a good deal, and will now prefer to pay double then to risk how I may look walking out of this place!!! HORRIBLE!!! And you should never be so swollen that both eyes are shut, and if so, any good doctor will tell you to come back in so they can see you. NOT here! Just take some Benadryl! (Yeah right) read more

My complexion was instantly brightened and I was glowing like a light bulb for the next week or so. Fast forward six weeks later...Groupon re-introduced me to the Derma flash PLUS facial. I went in expecting 60 minutes of bliss and left with only 45 minutes of "eh"..... I couldn't understand what happened, could it have been b/c a different person serviced me? I was nervous and conservative about having any "work" done but the competence, professionalism, and ambiance of the spa immediately put me at ease.
